Hello Seniors! Hello People!

Please all seniors in the house. I have a question for all you great Naijas.

Will Canada Embassy give or approve Student Admission Visa for a one-year (or less) Diploma or Certificate or Advanced Diploma certificate in Mechanical related course when I am already 47 years old, with a first Mechanical Degree (1996), Masters in Mech (2002) and lot of work experience years?

I repeat; Will the embassy grant me visa for a 1yr Diploma/certificate program when am so getting old and have done a higher masters in same related engineering for so long?

The truth is; I don't want to go there and do PHD or even masters, but I want to travel and have a reason to legally stay put for PR status like most of us younger ones are working towards.

you have said it already that u have a masters in same field so why risk going for a diploma(which is lower) in the same course? though notin is impossible but ur best bet is express entry, with ur qualifications and experience u should get it with lesser stress

Asides my sponsor, my elder brother had transferred some funds to my account for my academic purpose, He's not working he still schools but he can show the a proof of the source of funds, My question is how does he present this and what do we both need so i include it in my application and submit together with my bank statement ...whats your take sir?

pls let ur elder brother act as ur co-sponsor then let him e plain in his letter of support that the money transferred to ur account is his own support for ur studies. NB: u can use more than 1 co-sponsors, so no need to be afraid

Now I've been working for the past tgree years, I have a statement of account of 1.2m and I have already paid for my first semester tuition for the school, along with someone I wanna use as sponsor can I also declare myself as co sponsor especially with the fact that I have paid the school fees from my own account.

yes u can declare urself as co-sponsor bro, it even reduces the financial burden from ur sponsor

bro u should have deferred ur admission is certainly May (that doesn't affect ur visa application as cic will request for an updated admission letter when it's time for that), I don't think it will still be possible to defer now cos the start date has passed but there's no harm in contacting ur school to see if they can still make room for u to defer. just tell them u thought u will be able to get the visa b4 now but till this moment u haven't heard from cic

yes u can use him but let him pay ur tuition fee or pay the said amount into ur account and let him also explain it in details in his letter of support to the vo and state his reasons behind wanting to spend millions on ur education

1. u not only need to money for 1 semester, u need for 1 session (that's 2 or 3 semesters depending on the school), so if it's 2 semesters u should multiply by 2.
2. As for u using a third party ( sm1 that's not ur sibling or parent) the person might have to pay ur tuition fee or send the amount he intend to commit to ur studies into ur bank account(so as to show the vo commitment). NB: Apart from ur tuition fee u still need to have atleast cad10k (for living expenses ) in ur account

my application was denied few minutes ago. It's so unfortunate. Been following the thread silently. I did my assignment well, wrote a convincing Sop, read previous parts before submission....prayed like I never did...I feel like a failure. I don't even know how to break the news to my parents. Thanks, i guess i"ll just apply for Computer software then, although i currently work as a data analyst in a strict private consultancy firm where a former colleague once requested for study leave and he got fired, the issue is that i will submit my statements of accounts, employment letter and any data of mine related to the company to the Canadian embassy. I would like to know if the embassy would contact the company i work with coz i dnt want to loose both ways i.e no visa and also loose my job.

1. Do i need to provide birth certificates of my siblings? Most of them have lost theirs.
2. Will i need to fill the study permit questionaire ?? I think only paper applicants are required to fill that.

I agree with you. Also @Nogen , you can go with your kids without a need to apply for visa for them since they are american citizens. However, if they will be with you throughout the duration of your study, you will have to apply for a visa or change their status when you get to canada as american citizens can visit canada for not more than 180days.
Any day more than this duration will require a valid visa for them.

You don't loose the funding, it depends on the school's policy. Some don't even allow deferring, others allow only once. Talk to the admission's office not the supervisor. Supervisors are usually ignorant on admissions policies, their job is academic, not administrative.

Please are there specific ways to go about DEFERRING an admission? Am just curious please. Will one have to tell his supervisor first, then grad school? And will that be an issue if it is because of circumstance beyond once control - like CIC delays in issuing permit considering the recent processing time. Also, if one had an offer with funding, is it likely that one can lose his funding because he deferred?

it's possible u lose ur funding if u defer, but I think ur supervisor will be in a better position to explain. just mail him that u are yet to get ur trv and just be keeping him posted from time to time pending when trv shows up. but don't defer now until u let's say a day to resumption (and even if u must do make sure u get ur supervisor's advise on it b4 taking the decision)

Good morning all. Please I need some clarifications. Do we have anyone who has gone with the children alone? My children are US citizens but I am going with them because they are babies. They are not yet 2 years old. (Please I don't want the advise of leaving them behind because there is no one to leave them with)

In my application for a CAQ , I indicated I'm going with them. I'm waiting for the certificate , hopefully I will receive it this week. Then I commence my online application. My husband is not going with us. My sister and Oga will be applying as visitors and they will be shuttling Canada and Nigeria until we have a permanent solution for the kids.

Now, what and what do I need to apply for the children? Are they entitled to the point of entry visa? Or would I also need to send their passports to Ghana? They don't have Nigerian passports yet.

yes u can go with ur children and even ur husband , but make sure u have enough fund as the normal avarice of CAD10K will increase depending on the number of people accompanying u to Canada. the only reason people are advised to leave their gaily member back I'm naija is just to serve as home tie. try also to explain in details why u want to take ur children to canada and also let the vo know that their presence won't affect ur studies (that u intend getting a nanny as soon as u get to Canada so she will be with them whenever u have classes). I hope I have helped a bit?

if u can go go children's practice clinic as early as 7am on Monday then u can round up there and go to lekki for submission that sane day, if u submit b4 medical then u will have to wait for cic to instruct u to go for it

- recently got laid off from work -in march, ---admission can in may
-New job( unrelated) in same month
-Got recommended from both old and new job
- paid my tuition - hv receipt
-Conditions offer( transcript)
-Sponsor myself (1.6m)plus uncle as co sponsor (10m with 2 account- working)
-Police report (getting it on Monday, paid 10k btw Abj)
Pls any thing to help and can I get my visa before sept

I think you shouldn't include the recommendation from the new job since it's not related to your studies and if it's possible don't include it on to your cv (thank God the former company also gave you a recommendation letter so maybe you use that only). My take though , anyone with better advise should give pls

bro no cause for alarm. the only time u submit anything medical when applying is when u do upfront medical but since u didn't do u just have to wait for cic to request for it from u and a medical mail will be sent to u, it is that mail with ur international passport copy that u will take to the clinic u intend doing ur medical
