ceaser: Are you planning on LFPs or 18650s? If it's 18650s power wall, you may use something that is more widely and easily available locally - the adaptable boxes - and the biggest size will allow about 14s, 12p of 18650 cells in the minimum. For handles, inexpensive handles like those type used on power stabilzers are available for purchase on AE and quite easy to fix.
These ones are 48v 30 ah each, to be stacked in about 10 units one on the other.
The packs per box are pieced together in 2 units of 7s12p per box meaning it can be adapted to 24v by a few reconnection and replacing the BMS with a 24v. Nah, I bought a 3.2v 22AH Lifepo4. I've considered this, but I doubt it can handle the battery size.

ojeysky: I doubt it will be more affordable than it already is especially if quality is important to you. Naija will govt may even start introducing policies that will make renewable energy more expensive Naira is on a free fall, the policies the Nigerian government already has in place will ensure that it keeps falling and things will never be cheaper if it's paid for in dollars. |

ceaser: That is another shocker for me, aswear. The first time I encountered them, they had two parcels that will attract 500 naira each (total of 1k) in NIPOST charges for me. They called that they are on their way to my workplace (the delivery address). I was like what dá hell? And being already used to NIPOST's "Come to our office to pick up" policy, I simply told them that they should not bother but just give me their office address jẹ́jẹ́, lemme come and pick my package myself before they start giving me stories like we couldn't locate you and had to put it in "returns". Ọmọ, they insisted o, and find me they did. I only needed to provide a means of identification and that was it.
Okay, I checked the package and no price was scribbled on it (like NIPOST does). I was now looking at the mouth of the delivery man if he would say "oga, you have to pay charges". But disappointedly shocked was I when after I thanked him, he too thanked me, turned and walked away. Along with some guilt questioning myself if I should have given him something, I also kept wondering that this tracking is definitely not DHL's or its likes (even those ones still throw decorum to the winds and shamelessly ask something for the boys), so I kept arguing with myself say wetin dey, who be these guys?
Three more parcels after that they called again, but I insisted it must be in their office, which is of course a ploy to satisfy my curiousity. They had their signboard along the main trunk A road, but you needed to branch off and drive about five NEPA poles in-street on an untarred, barely motorable road to get to their designated location. I guess they couldn't find an office beside the main road or perhaps it was too expensive. The building is your regular three or maybe two bedroom apartment with a toilet and bathroom to serve all. The sitting room/palour was adapted as the office. The office was very bare save a work table and a chair both placed a little off-centre of the room. The barebone appearance of the place is apparently because it was recently rented and construction and building refurbishments works were visibly on-going. The room also had a sitting bench for clients placed against the wall by the entrance.
I discovered they are a Chinese company with subsidiaries across Nigeria, they not only ship into Nigeria from China but vice versa. The few minutes I was there, they made about one or two calls to Lagos in follow up of different items that people are shipping from Nigeria to the outside. Few clients came in to collect footwears (which surprisingly the speedaf agent herself does not even know how to go about ordering on AE and got some insight from the client). No charges were collected from anyone. They use apps on their mobile phones for their process of items arrival to item collection perhaps until such time the rehabilitation and construction works in the building are completed and they can set up good office space where they can use larger gadgets like computers and the likes. Upon arrival of items, they use their phones to scan the QR code on the package and according to them, a message is automatically generated and sent to the recipient's email address notifying them of the arrival of the item. They also place phone calls to the recipient. Then when the he/she comes to collect it, they either scan the QR code or enter some information about the package on their mobile phone app and then it's handed over to the the individual.
There were stacks of bags in one corner of the room and I was told they are returns of items that recipients rejected (not that recipients couldn't be located). They are shoes and clothing, mostly shoes, that had wrong sizes sent. When I inquired why mostly shoes, they responded that there is a shoe merchant in China that recently adopted "speedaf" as the sole logistics agent because of the reliability and that more sellers will likely adopt them in the coming weeks. I've picked in their office too. It's along my way home and I wanted to reduce the drive to my place. Still they handed over my items without "anything for the boys?" which is the usual lingo in PO and other public service. I also saw loads of packages yet to be delivered on their offices. Very soon every AE seller will know that Speedaf is the way to go. It's been a while I visited the PO, most of em may think I no longer buy things, most things I've bought so far now goes via the Speedaf route, luckily for me, that's a route I approve |

eliok: recommend a third party shipper please Ehmmmm...can't recommend any. Just do your own research as each has their own wahala (not fraud)- delays, disappointment, etc. Logistics is often a game for the patient. So, check em out and decide to deal so you don't have anyone to blame if transaction did not go as you expect. Gracias. |

TerverAyaka: Thank you for this post, I just left AE now, I saw some affordable Samsung and Apple phones both use I'm tempted to try buying hopefully next month or so. Please how do you suggest I go about it? The DHL fee is 19k.if i should use DHL, will I still duties here or it will be delivered to me at home by DHL? If you use third party shipper you may just pay about ₦12k or thereabouts, without risking duty from using DHL. And yes, DHL will deliver the package at your home address, but they'll also declare your items to customs and you may get a surprising ₦40k or more duty to pay. Of course, this is not obtainable every time. |

ManyThanks: have you purchased Samsung phone from aliexpress before? is it worth giving a try? When buying expensive items such as phones, drones, and other items likely to be "confiscated" by our crazy customs, I use third party shippers to avoid the 50/50 percent chance of items getting missing, "seized" aka stolen by "rats" in customs, or having to pay high ridiculous amount of money as duty. Also I have found that the shipping of these items by the third party shippers are often competitive with the amount the sellers are willing to add as their shipping cost. The only phone I ever bought from AliExpress and shipped by AE (which arrived Nigeria without any issue or duty) was a Xiaomi Note 3 phone some years back. Back then Xiaomi was not a known brand in Nigeria, and luckily customs guys are not as aggressive as they are now on things imported from China. After that, most my phone purchases are often done either from the USA or other countries but with shipping done by third party shipping agents. |

It's very annoying to get sellers that don't respond to chats. I test sellers before I buy, I often send them chat and ask if the goods are available. saint2ace: Most free DHL shipping never arrive as seller will never ship. Lots of stores like that on AliExpress so be careful, read reviews before u try such stores. Las las na dispute go end am.
NB: If u get such and after u get a tracking number nothing happens on the delivery process, just initiate dispute after 10days of no activity, don't waste time waiting for buyer protection to end.... My 2 kobo... Funny the package I received this weekend has free DHL shipping. But dude told me to cancel the transaction and order again as he can't use DHL. Told him to use other method (I can't just burn $40 again...limit not smiling ) The package I ordered is $40. I know there's no way he'll ship it with DHL when $40 was the lowest price I got for the item when I searched AE. Told the seller to ship with another method that I don't mind that I can't reorder it. He sent it with another method but still updated AliExpress with DHL number and dmed me the real tracking.

I once had ringing in my ear some while ago. Googled symptom and got tinnitus as likely cause. Omo I nearly got a heart attack the more I googled it. Do not google your symptoms, when in doubt or having any health issue visit your doctor. I did visit the doctor, luckily he didn't even mention tinnitus Thankfully, few days later I was ok; no more ringing noise. Had to order ear plug for use when around noisy machines and people. ItsTutsi: Bro, u seem to know a lot.. I have some issues I want u to help me clarify
1. Why do products from aliexpress come under different local companies in nigeria when shipped and how will I know which company to go to/will fall under in nigeria when ordering from aliexpress
2. A product I ordered through "aliexpress standard shipping" came under speedaff, while a product I ordered again through "aliexpress standard shipping", when I called speedaff, they told me it's nipost..I'm confused, how will I know where they will come under?
I ordered for a product that came since the 3rd of this month, but I'm yet to get a call or text.. when I called a person that works for speedaff, he told me it's nipost 1) I think the sellers randomly chose the logistics to use. Or they just post and the logistic firm decide on which one to use to send. 2) See answer no 1 Your item is going to be delivered by the NIPOST. Of late, I've noticed goods shipped by NIPOST takes longer compared to speedaf. But I'm sure you'd receive your item. Just chill. |
