Hmmm what the FG does'nt know is that dialogue is the key, more groups are springing up everyday not just the Avengers, Niger Deltans are angry the Northerners and westerners are controlling the oil blocs and oil industry as a whole thereby making it very difficult for the youths of the Niger Delta to work in the multinational oil firms operating in our State, if any of you people are here you will weep but there's nothing you can do. If you have'nt been to the Niger Delta before we don't have other companies like in Lagos, Ogun, Ibadan even Kano, what we have is only the oil firms and government work. Let me give you people an example, i personally graduated with B.ENG in Petroleum Engineering till today no job but the multinationals in my state are hiring on montly basis some as contract staffs we here no job, just because the companies headquaters is in lagos you hire them there send them to our community to work.
I am sorry, as these attacks on oil facilities continue to impact negatively on the lives of majority of Nigerians so will it backfire on your course, because ppl will start losing sympathy to your plight and increasingly begin to see themselves instead as the victims of your militancy.
You also have to bear the consequences of polluting your own land which itself is quite counter productive.
Part of the problem lies your mindset of easy money and its our oyel mentality where a few are exploiting the majority.
For example, majority of these so called militants are not motivated by ideology but only personal gain; they hold the oil companies and govt. to ransom for protection money and if they fail to pay they blow up the pipelines; they also blow the pipelines in order to bid and secure contract for repair of the damage.
Unfortunately, these monies when paid goes into the few pockets of these criminals while the entire community remains impoverished; hardly anything is reinvested back to the community but go instead to sponsor luxurious houses in Abuja, Dubai or schools in Togo etc.
Your governor was recently moved to come out publicly and lament about your lazy mindset where young men prefer to sell off their employment slots secured for them with multinationals to Igbo boys instead, for mere pittance rather than take up such positions themselves.
You are an Engr. still without a job even though you know the companies are still recruiting but only through their HQs in Lagos, and you still sit there in ND waiting and complaining for the job to come you; so whats stopping you from also going to Lagos for interview like others do - this is the kind of mindset we are talking about i.e. waiting for things to happen rather than making them happen.
Remain there dey sip ogogoro under mango tree while others are hustling to make their lives better.

Abagworo:
This is self explanatory. Nigeria is not earning enough foreign exchange to fund fuel importations. The solution remains speedy construction of new refineries so that we will have no need to import. PDP really wasted 16 years making military era better than them in the downstream oil sector. The military built 3 refineries between 1970 and 1985 which is 15 years whereas 17 years after democracy we've not built any additional refinery not to talk of maintaining the old ones. Under this Buhari admin the refineries are working for the 1st time in more than 10years.
Just save your breath, its too much for the wailers to understand.

Quite true; just a small handful set of youths at Shekarau's house in Kano after he had been invited by the EFCC, praying against Buhari for the safe return of their thieving master; let them try that at an open mosque outside the safety of the man's house and you will see how they'll be flogged to their papa houses.

Despite the present difficulties, Buhari is still very popular, as ppl see and believe in what he is doing - even his enemies, the wailers, know he means well for Nigeria but are just too bitter to admit it.

mesoprogress:
These people are protesting in favor of deregulation not because they know the economic advantage of deregulation of PMS but, because it is Buhari . Assuming it's a southern president, they would be be protesting in opposition to pump price hike. That said, I am a southerner, a critic of buhari administration, support deregulation because that's the best way to go. I also advise that naira be completely floated to boost economic development. If he had floated naira earlier, we might have avoided some of the mess the country is in at the moment.

These are truly zombies, northern Nigeria has a long way to go.
I have no problem with your post except your assertion that majority do not understand what they are protesting for.
You'd be surprised how well informed some of these ppl are through the power of radio: BBC, VOA, Radio Germany etc Hausa programs; where social and political issues are discussed and analysed extensively (with invited special guest speakers) to the enlightenment of the listener - I am sorry you presumed wrongly.

However, what you did not appreciate is that most ppl are tired of queuing and already used to paying for more at the black market; so anything to return the flow of the product through the fuel pumps is a welcomed development - they are not as ignorant as you think.

Lastly, Buhari still has a great deal of popularity because even though painful ppl see and believe in what he is doing - I know this may be hard and too bitter for the wailers to swallow.

Yes indeed; let him not waste any more time speculating or listening to any excuse, since he played no role in the theft, as all he did was simply to keep money in his account; he should therefore demand prompt refund or threaten to expose the fraud to the media and charge them to the EFCC - trust me, no bank wants negative publicity; they will pay up, especially as the money isn't much and well within what a bank can easily right off.

He should stand his ground that the bank was duty bound to protect his money and therefore responsible and culpable for the loss.
He should demand for full refund and not accept any excuse or otherwise threaten them with EFCC if they fail to do so - it seems to me it was an inside job and the bank was clearly negligent; its therefore their responsibility and their loss - no shaking.

Too much moral decadence in you guys that you now find forced sex, prostitution more worthy than marriage.
African tradition before the missionary set in. Once a lady have her first menses, she's made to have the next in her husband house. This move prevented cases such as:
Unwanted pregnancy
Abortion
Rape
Old age marriage
Prostitution
But what do we have now, increasing cases of the aforementioned. And take it or leave it, cases like the aforementioned is at a minimal In Muslim dominated societies.
Quite true, Muslim communities have higher moral standings and therefore less incidences of these acts.

However, the real issue is the bigotry and double standards you see from southern non-Muslims, whenever a Muslim is guilty of such offence; that is when they will descend to blame the person's religion, tribe and region forgetting worst happenings in their own backyard - ironically, when it comes to blame, you will find a high incidence rate of rape and paedophilia among their men of God i.e. their pastors and priests.

PoliticsRe: Herdsmen Killing Nigerians Are From Libya – Buhari by MeAboki(m): 3:45pm On May 15, 2016
Shym3xx:
You’ve the IQ of a sewage rat, you primitive Northern ragheaded scrounger with sahara sand for brain matter. You’re a stark illiterate and just like your illiterate president, English language and speaking in context aren’t your forte. I can’t really trifle a trifle on that since the English language isn’t your first language and it’s a pity I can’t post in Arabic. However, I’ll break it further down for you and perhaps this time, you will be able grasp how ridiculously dumb your president sound to even mention Libya. And that will also make you an obtuse and delusional bell/weasel for trying to defend the indefensible.

1). If the president isn’t trying to say the Libyan trained fighters recruited from the Sahel region are the herdsmen which have been accused of causing carnage everywhere –why talk about land grazing areas while talking about them? And why did he bring that up in context of his message, since according to him, both groups are distinct and the “peaceful” Fulani herdsmen are going about their business, without any problem whatsoever?

Or are you saying he’s trying to use the carnage caused by “Libyan trained fighters” to get more leverage for grazing areas in the South for “peaceful” Fulani herdsmen who aren’t asking for them and are going about their business without troubling anyone? If so, why do they need these grazing areas, since they’re not complaining? That’s how utterly dumb you sound, you vacuous pleb.

2). No. He didn’t address two different issues. He basically blamed the killings of farmers and villagers across the country on the phantom Libyan trained fighters recruited from the Sahel region – while openly canvassing for grazing areas for Fulani herdsmen. He also said they can’t be stopped. i). He blamed Libyan trained fighters for the killings. ii). In the same breath, he made a case for Fulani herdsmen and campaigned for grazing areas as the way to stop the killings. iii). He categorically said they can’t be stopped.
That’s just too much idiocy in one speech and since you and the president have sand for brain matter, you won’t see the contradiction there. Effing mingers.

3). The Tuareg group, which is a Berber speaking group, with a small population in Libya are a Sahel group. And most of the tribes in the Sahel region of Africa are Berbers (apart from Nomadic Fulanis). Evidently, if he’s blaming the phantom Libyan trained fighters recruited from the Sahel, who are mostly Tuaregs, for the killings – he’s basically saying they’re from Libya cos there are Tuaregs (Berbers) who’re indigenous to Libya due to how vague he was. So, why do Tuaregs who aren’t indigenous to Nigeria need grazing areas in Southern Nigeria and why did he reference grazing areas when he believes Fulani herdsmen aren’t responsible for the unnecessary carnage everywhere?

You’re an obtuse illiterate and an utterly dumb one at that. Honestly, you would have been better off jocking cows everywhere, since that would require less effort and it will come naturally to you – rather than come here and start using Arabic logic in a discourse that’s in English language. What an effing knob…a ragheaded one.
The issue centers around basic comprehension involving the correct interpretation of a short article that is still out there for anybody to judge.
I have already made my point and have no more time to waste arguing with a headless chicken, a person lacking in focus and relying on senseless ramblings based on mere conjectures and innuendos alone rather than the facts as stated before him - an Olodo of the first order, continue to ramble on, i have no more time for you.
PoliticsRe: Herdsmen Killing Nigerians Are From Libya – Buhari by MeAboki(m): 10:25am On May 15, 2016

You’re an obnoxious, insensitive, and despicable clown with warped logic. The way some of you propagandists and sycophantic pseuds always try to twist everything to defend the indefensible is nauseating/troubling and problematic. I doubt you read what you wrote. Sometimes it’s always better to shut up when there’s loss of lives, carnage and all kinds of atrocities involved – not everything is worth politicising.

The five key points showed a disjointed and gormless duffer grasping at straws, while trying to cover up the atrocities of his brothers, with different things that have no correlation whatsoever with one another. He started off with Gaddafi and Libya; moved to AQIM and Boko Haram; then cited herdsmen and the need for them to move southwards for grazing; subtly made a for herdsmen to be allowed grazing areas in the south and how there were grazing areas in the past, which have been converted to farms; and categorically said they can’t be stopped.
Questions for you, since in ya grandiose delusions and warped logic, you think you’re making sense:

- When did AQIM and Boko haram become herdsmen? And since they’re Libyans and not Fulani herdsman, why do they need grazing areas in the South? Shouldn’t the Libya invasion and the atrocities they’ve committed, that’s on genocidal proportions in certain communities, be a national security issue – with the man who’s meant to be the chief security officer looking for ways to stop them – before they end up spreading their tentacles all over the country?

- What are violent and barbaric herdsmen from a next country doing in Nigeria? The last time I checked, Libya isn’t in West Africa and they need visas - who allowed them into Nigeria to kill Nigerians and shouldn’t getting them out of Nigeria be his priority? So, why is he subtly campaigning for grazing areas in the south for folks who aren’t Nigerians?

- How come none of the tough talking Fulani leaders denied these people since the barbaric killings started? However, they’ve emphasised the need for herdsmen to defend themselves and made all kinds of excuses about herdsmen not being the aggressors.

All in all, if these folks are Libyans – there’s absolutely no need for grazing areas in the south. And they ought to be rounded up and bundled into the next available flight back to Libya.
You are the type who would fail JAMB over and over again and still blame it on the village witch.

If I were you I'd take a gun and blow my brains out for being so unforgivably stupid for failing to properly comprehend the basic message within a short simple article of less than half page, expected within the capacity of a secondary school leaver.

It is quite obvious that you simply cannot read and comprehend; in fact there is a big gap between what was written and what you can understand.

As already stated; pls go back and carefully revise both the article and my post and try and show me where the president implied that the Libyan trained fighters recruited from the Sahel region by the former Libyan regime were the same as the Fulani herdsmen we have in Nigeria.

Like I said before, the president addressed two separate issues: Terrorism in Africa, facilitated by disbanded fighters trained and recruited from the Sahel region by the former Libyan government under Ghaddafi - who (after the fall of the regime) splintered and joined other groups such as Boko Haram and Al Quaeda now affecting Nigeria and other African countries.

It is possible you do not know what Sahel means - pls use googgle and stop exposing your stupidity

The president, secondly referred to the issue of the herdsmen (which he never claimed were from Libya) and adduced the ongoing crisis to the dismantling of former infrastructure that were in place to accommodate them that have sunsequently been taken over and replaced with farmlands.

Well if you still cannot understand this simple breakdown then you really have problems - and I'll advise you to go back to school and revise basic comprehension again or ask the school to refund your fees because your teachers have obviously done a very bad job on you.

Unfortunately, you and the OP and many other respondents on this thread are the real illiterates, too quick to jump to conclusion and blinded by hate to accurately comprehend what the man was saying.
I would advise you and your ilk to go back to the quote and state where the president clearly claimed Fulani herdsmen were from Libya; otherwise you will be obliged to withdraw your insults against the president for unduly misrepresenting him.

What was evident was that the president spoke about two separate issues:

a)Terrorist groups in Africa e.g. Al-Qaeda, Boko Haram etc which he identified as being re-enforced by Libyan trained fighters sourced from the Sahel who dispersed and joined these groups after the former regime was toppled.

b)Herdsmen (note he didn't even mentioned their tribe) who he described as nomadic and moving seasonally (i.e. along with the rainy season).
He also described previous circumstances where the necessary infrastructure (i.e. grazing grounds etc) were put in place to accommodate them without conflict; until these facilities were later taken over and replaced with farmlands by some powerful ppl (who he referred to as Ogas).

Pls stop this hateful propaganda as it serves no purpose other than to expose your bigotry and very poor comprehension.

PoliticsRe: Press Statement On Fuel Subsidy Removal In Nigeria, By Kachikwu by MeAboki(m): 9:09pm On May 12, 2016
rexzqcom:
Lots of decaying infrastructures were restured. And new ones were developed.
Jonathan's subsidy removal would have created a better balance in economy of scale. Because then naira had no pegged official rates. All importers would have play on level playing field. But now with naira pegged, nnpc and others with political connections will be able to import using official rates. While others will use higher parallel market rates and higher selling prices.
Eventually, others importers will rather buy from nnpc and sell at markups than import anything. Resulting in scarcity and much higher prices than set official price.
To make it equivalent to what would have obtained in Jonathan's era, is to deregulate naira and let market decide same rates for all importers and everybody else.
We must have been living in different planets, Jonathan restored and developed what infrastructure, you mean how he scammed us on the few he attempted, ranging from NEPA, railways and airports - guy, just don't even go there. He and his cronies simply squandered our surplus windfall - Okonji Iweala former financial minister confirmed this.

Subsidy removal is part of the process towards complete deregulation, which the govt has already almost actualized by opening up the downstream sector to anybody (including you yourself, should you be interested).

The only outstanding difference is that NNPC is still enjoying preferential treatment in terms of its source of Forex; however it has been ordered to operate at closely the same par with its competitors in its dual role as a major importer and a retailer; though I agree there may be room for some unscrupulous individuals to exploit - but hey, its Buhari's govt, don't forget that EFCC will be there watching and waiting in the wings for such ppl.
