I long for the day when Nigerians would wake up and reject these crooks.
If to go by that label, then we are all crooks, no one will be left out. They (govns) and politicians are Nigerians as U are. Most of them come from humble backgrounds as many Nigerians. Invariably, we are them and they are us. The only difference is that they belong to a ruling class and they are privilege to be there while we groans and lament because we are not lucky enough to be where they are. There is probability a certain number of us would not fare better if saddled with such responsibility.

Give a Nigerians a change to dip his hand in public coffers and watch him gulp and siphon more money he will not need to secure the lives of his family and his future first to the detriment of average Nigerians whose responsibility should basically lies on his shoulder.

Folks like you are the type that remains stagnant in life because you pay deaf ears to corrections.
You called calling people's creativities 'nonsense' and wacks critique? Do U even know the basic meaning of that word? That quote of yours has nothing to do with critism but an attempt to downplay other people's ideas and God given gifts. In all honesty, this current generation lack taste for music.

Seems music left Nigeria from 2008-2010.

I'm stuck with 90s music, Gen-Z music na crap.

The worse I'm seeing lately is shalipopo and odumudu black... Nigeria music has gone this bad with wack lyrics.

If Grammy was truly by merit, no Nigeria musician currently deserves shxt, in fact for the past 10 years, none deserve shxt.

Wizkid, Davido, Burna boy are all media hype and heck mentality. These guys are craps musically without media hypes. They wouldn't survive 90s and early 2000
See how it is easy for you to badly contempt and badmouth the creativities of others to massage ur ego. Do you even know what it takes to be creative, or to make contents? Do U know where these guys started from or what they av been through before they hit the space? Have U ever created something that worth adoring or interesting by others? Yes, if no then we shouldnt eat any other animal.
The golden rule is 'All animal are equal '
Point of correction sir, the same saying that says 'All animals are equal' has the last part that say "But some animals are more equal than the other. You can't go into wilderness to hunt a lion with a dāne guns or some random machete as you will hunt down squirrel with the same objects.

Now, back to the topic, no creation of God with flesh is not sweet when well cooked or roasted (including humans) but common ṣense and human disposition would help you to select the animals to feast on.

alot of street folks see an opportunity in this and use their ticket to take extra meal. grin grin

The camp food is mostly a mess anyway. They will serve all the camp officials before diluting the rest with so much water so that it can go round the camp not minding the quality grin grin
CultureThis Is The Story Of “MAMMY MARKET” by meedoLock(op):
By Nigeriastories

For those who have been to Nysc camp in Nigeria, or people who have closely stayed withing the army barracks, you must be conversant with the term "MAMMY MARKET". Here is how the term came to light :

mammy market is a place close to the barracks, where soldiers’ interact and buy their daily needs.
mammy market was named after a woman called Mammy Ochefu In 1955 at Enugu.

She is the wife of late military Governor of defunct East-Central state, Col. Anthony Aboki Ochefu, where she sold a local non-alcoholic beverage called enyi to support her family.

After taking a week break at home due to complaints from people that the drink attracted flies, pressure from her clients inspired a Lieutenant Colonel to build her a kiosk to make it more conducive.

Her family was later posted out of Enugu to Abeokuta but Mammy continued the business wherever they were posted to while she added snacks that would interest the soldiers’.

Interestingly, whenever her family was transferred to another state, she would hand over the business to women who were interested in it but asked that they retain the name.

Mammy registered her business as “Mammy Market” in 1971. By the time her husband retired, the business had grown into a supermarket and a transport business.

Till date when ever a military barrack is built a mammy market is always built with it. Mammy market are also created in NYSC orientation camps.

Just last week I almost got trapped into a loan shark system. I had a need for just 5k to complete a money, it's very very imperative that I make a swift complete transaction. I don't know how to ask money from even my close pal less talk of a family members who I always wish to give to and not to take from them. I made use of the app I have on my phone from default, when it got to the last step to submit, it pop up an error and I never thought twice to retry I took it as a red flag for me and I backed down.

I've come to realize that we only talk down on people who occupies public offices, most especially the newly elected ones simply because we are not the one elected. I mean is it not thesame people among us that gets elected into these offices? I've U ever thought of how you might rule or behave if you have the opportunity? This is to tell you that we've been agitating and clamoring for a dead and fail courses. We've been hypocritically looking for angels among us to occupy powers and drive things right over the night. No, it won't come. We don't have angels among us, we only have human of flesh. But only a good system could present us the kind of nation we crave for.

The system would drive and structure the nation the way we've ever wanted it.

We should all throw in towels and ask for the restructuring of this country instead of running for voters card every for years hoping to smuggle in an angel.

Restructuring is the only solution to all these shenanigans, except the other option which is also to restructure the nation.

Did you hear about professor peller while growing up in the 90s? If you are conversant with south west Nigeria, you would know the echoe and roaring of professor peller (Nickname) with his unbelievable magic tricks.

Enjoy the write up put together by Ronuspirit

This famous Magician was born in 1941 at Iseyin, Oyo State, Nigeria and he was named Moshood Folorunsho Abiola. He would later pick on the stage name of ‘Professor Peller’, an appellation that has stuck to him like a second skin.

He is the father of Shina Peller the popular socialite.

When Professor Peller was alive, he was the most brilliant magician in all of Africa. Even in death, Peller remains the greatest of all. He performed not only before princes but also held kings spellbound with his magic.

That was how Femi Oyebode, a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Birmingham described Peller and one of his shows in 1972 at the George V Stadium in Lagos.

He was a perfect picture of debonair gentleman and was assisted by an attractive young woman. He flicked his white handkerchief and a white dove flew out. He pulled at his cuff links and flowers bloomed under his command. He was confident, majestic. He was suave and graceful.

His biggest ever trick was when he levitated his assistant who was also his wife and cut her in two without drawing blood. He locked her in a cupboard, chained up several times over yet she disappeared!

It was a masterful performance. The crowd clapped, hooped and loudly cheered. We were seduced against our better judgment, and believed that the trick was real.

He was a prolific and magnificent magician with many shows, some of which were the Invisible General, the Escaping Box, Changing Dresses and the Zigzag. One thing with Peller’s performances is that they were executed with maximum finesse and accuracy.

The life of this great magician was cut short prematurely due to an assassination attempt on his life that was successful. His wife Alhaja Silifat Adeboyin Peller, as she is currently known as, in an interview with BBC News Yoruba she said that it was the questions that were asked to late Professor Peller that led to his downfall. It was in an interview that he was asked when he could ever be found without his charms and he answered that when he observed prayers, he was charmless and that was the information that was banked on to carry out his assassination attempt. The story told us that the people who were sent to assassinate him, greatly capitalized on his weak point, waited till he was ready to observe prayer noon prayer and execute him at the sport. No one knew the motive for the brutal killing at the time. Just the mere sayings and speculations.

This is how the mighty ones are fallen in a very light and meaningless way.

As he was loved widely that was the same way he was envied by many and that envy was what led to his death. Nevertheless magic in Africa cannot be spoken about without mentioning professor Peller and that in itself is a glorious life well lived.

From Nigeriastories via X

Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state, is the largest city in Nigeria and the third in Africa after Cairo and Johannesburg. The city which lies in the south-western part of Nigeria is known for its rich and fascinating cultures, lifestyle, history and spellbinding tourist destinations

One of the most visited tourist destinations in Ibadan is the University of Ibadan zoological garden which proudly houses different animals ranging from lions to rabbits. It is a popular custom of many families living in Ibadan to visit the zoo during festive periods to hang out and have fun as well.

So, on a fateful (later bloody) day in the Easter season of the year 1991, visitors stormed the U.I zoo as usual to enjoy the serene environment of the enclosure and have fun seeing different animals they have only seen on screens. Of all the animals in the the zoo.

a man, a bold and daring prophet by the name Daniel Abodurin who wanted to show people the ‘work of God of Daniel‘ by walking into the lions’ cage to touch them like Daniel did in the bible without getting mauled. Prophet Abodurin’s intention was to recreate the biblical story of a young man named Daniel who out of envy was thrown to some lions that turned out to have been mysteriously tamed. The biblical story has it that God sent down some angels to shut the mouths of the lions.

The determined Prophet Daniel Abodurin walked up to some staff of the zoo and pleaded to gain entry into the lions’ cage. No one in his or her right senses will give ears to this kind of plea, so the prophet was turned down. But after much disturbance and persuasion, the prophet’s insane wish was granted.

Another account has it that Prophet Abodurin sneaked into the lions’ cage. Sneaking or no sneaking, he eventually found his way into the cage. Many people present at the scene could not believe what their eyes were seeing, and realizing it was not a dream, they prepared their mind for the worst result. Prophet Daniel Abodurin was clothed in a red robe and under his armpit was a big bible. As he entered the cage, he began reciting bible verses and speaking in tongues and calling unto the ‘God of Daniel’ to perform wonders.

It was gathered that he was shouting jah, jah, jah which was believed to be a shortened form of Jehovah. At first, the lions retreated to a corner of their cage. Unknown to the to-be African version of Daniel, retreating is the first thing lions do when they see something unusual in their territory and later they get rid of it. Prophet Abodurin thought his faith was really working. He moved nearer to the lions and kept chanting bible verses, then in a flash, the lions pounced on the bemused, confused and horrified prophet. A cold stream of shock ran down the spines of the terrified onlookers. embarassed embarassed embarassed Prophet Daniel Abodurin battled for his dear life but his strength was no match for that of the hefty lions, and in a moment, he was torn into pieces and devoured. His bloody red robe laid in shreds and his bible which he had flung away at the beginning of the attack was covered in dust. Stampede ensued in the zoo as people took to their heels after seeing such a horrible sight they will never forget in their lives.

The prophet’s remains were collected and later buried. That was how Prophet Daniel Abodurin met his fate but not in fate...
