Not good news for Mikel. Hope he's invested well.

Chelsea owners must really be sick to think of selling Drogba for Torres, despite all the best he put in the team. Let me see how many goals Torres will score on Sunday.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Financially-ill Chelsea To Axe Drogba, Mikel, Malouda And Co This Summer by Meldrick(op): 1:58pm On Feb 04, 2011
Chelsea’s Didier Drogba, John Obi Mikel, Florent Malouda, Yuri Zhirkov and Jose Bosingwa must watch out: the arrival of £50M Torres and €25M David Luiz may force the quintet to quit Chelsea this summer.

Drogba, Obi Mikel, Malouda and company may have to walk out from Chelsea this summer.

England Premier League

Billionaire Roman Abramovich played a dangerous game on the last day of the January transfer window. The Chelsea owner splashed £75M on the table to make last minute deals with Liverpool and Benfica for Fernando Torres and David Luiz respectively. Reports even claim that Chelsea had planned to hit the £100M transfer fee mark as they were looking forward to capture Anderlecht’s Romelu Lukaku for £25M.

Ironically, a loss of £70M had been announced in the morning on January 31; so to hear the Blues spending so big in the evening sounded as a “illogical” and “insulting” to UEFA and to Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger who is known to be very cautious when it comes to financial matters. What are Chelsea’s plans, then, on the financial front?

According to The Sun, the Blues have put the job of Bosingwa, Drogba, Zhirkov, Malouda and Mikel on the line. A Chelsea source was quoted as saying by the English magazine:

“There are a few big names and big earners whose performances have fallen short this season. If things don not improve, there will be some notable casualties in the summer.

“The competition for places will be keener now and that should be a great motivation for everyone.”

Is Roman Abramovich pretending to play the game of money by in fact playing the game of psychology at the benefit of Chelsea? The Blues already picked 3 vital points after the close of the transfer window thanks to a 4-2 victory over Sunderland in a game where Nicolas Anelka’s remarkable performance seemed to be inspired by the player’s fear of losing his place to new signing Fernando Torres.

Chelsea will now play Liverpool on Sunday with the aim of maintaining the recent momentum. Didier Drogba is expected to play upfront with ex-Liverpool star Torres who will be making his debut for the Blues.

Bakare will now be absent from weekly services. Bakare should face his church.

Chelsea does not need a Torres at this point in time. The job Torres is about to perform can be done by Solomon Kalou and Drogba.
Chelsea needs a player like Frank Ribery, Lionel Messi. I would have even preferred a tired Ronaldinho to Torres. Chelsea needs a creative midfielder. A player that can destroy the midfield and defence of any team. There's no point spending so much on a standing nine. Chelsea's midfield lacks creativity.  Re: Riot In The North Over Jonathan's Win
« #109 on: Today at 03:10:29 PM »

In my view, Nigeria is one of the most difficult countries to lead and govern, but one of the easiest to rule and manipulate.  That is why we have always had rulers in Nigeria, but never leaders.  Our rulers have long recognised that Nigeria is not a country as such but a collection of vested interests, and they have ruthlesslessly exploited  these interests to keep themselves in power.   They know that the people want subsidised petrol, so what do they do?  Of course they provide it even if it means shortages from time to time and less money to build roads, hospitals and schools.  They also subsidise electricity, even if it means regular blackouts.  I have also come to the conclusion that the last parastatal that the Nigerian government will privatise is NNPC because that is the golden goose that gives our leaders golden eggs with which to buy favours and operate their system of patronage.  Government control of parastatals means that you can bribe even your opponents with juicy appointments and freeze out those who don't toe the line.  I have also reaslised that expecting our government to privatise key industries and utilities is like expecting turkeys to vote for Christmas.  Once they do this they will start losing their levers of patronage.  In the final analysis,  the solution to the Nigerian conundrum, in my opinion is the reduction of the size and influence of government and the public sector in Nigerian daily life  and to allow the natural Nigerian entrepreneurial spirit to flourish.  However I doubt that this will happen simply because the rulers and the ruled appear to be involved in a relationship of convenience and expediency, and mutual backscratching.

The above in my opinion is one of the best post I've read in a long time giving the true picture of Nigeria.

The Government failed in its responsibility to provide an enabling environment?   YES!
Have the student gone out of their way to learn the basic things to develop themselves? NO!

As a student, you hold a higher responsibility than the government does in making yourself a better person. A computer science student that waits for the government to deliver computers to his class without necessarily deeming it fit to go out of his way is lazy and shouldn't even be studying the course to begin with.

As an undergraduate, i have cause to deny myself of basic luxury to register for courses in fields were i believe will eventually benefit me in the near future.  It becomes distasteful that an average student will rather spend money buying cloths and other luxury items than invest in his/her development, all they do is wait for the government. . . .bullshyt!

I have friends who studied computer engineering but since the school lacks the basic infrastructures to train them properly, this same people went out of their way to learn software programming and  hardware configuration, if anything it shows you are passionate about your career!
for chrissake, this is an age where even five year olds don't have an excuse for being a computer illiterate, it's outrageous that university graduate are!
Look at the bolded part and be sincere with yourself. How many people can afford the money to learn those software programmes. I'll enlighten you if you don't know because Iam presently working with an IT company and know the cost of some of these programmes. You can go out of your way to ask programmers what it takes and they will tell you they were fortunate. With the level of poverty in the land, an average Computer Science student can't afford it and stop assuming that all students use all their money to buy clothes. Of course they must wear clothes or don't you buy. I wonder when wearing clothes have become luxury. Think man

So now this is INEC's fault? You'd be amazed about the quality of some of our university graduates if you took a closer look at them. We have
ourselves to blame in this. As someone pointed out earlier; faulty equipment and dull corpers makes for an inefficient registration process.
Like I earlier said, These students are products of their environment. Do not expect anything better. Our leaders are aware of the products that will come out of our Universities and this explains why they take their children abroad.

Silly damn silly mentality!. .

This is what happens when people don't have anyone to blame for their inefficiencies, the government is the easiest and most convenient enemy! . . .how about you take a larger share of the responsibility, No?

For crying out loud, there are cyber cafes littered all around costing just a little over 100 naira an hour, there are independent computer classes that cost less that 3000 naira a month, what you need sir, is initiative!. . . . it's shameful that even my 68 year old neighbor knows how to do common things on the computer, although he never had access to one as a student.

Face it, Nigerian students are too sluggish and lazy. . .all they think about is how to get rich overnight, no one bothers to actually learn!

Very myopic and shallow mentality.
The students are only products of their environment.
Must you depend on Cyber Cafe to get equipped with the knowledge you desire as a Computer Science student. There certainly would have been no need to write JAMB, gain admission into the University to study Computer Science if you say going to the Cyber Cafe is a better alternative.

The students are products of their environment. The government has failed. Don't expect anything better. After years in the University, most of these students never had a practical example and you say you have a good government. That you can afford 3,000 does not mean everyone can afford it. Who does not desire to be rich overnight including you? It is never bad to dream. Stop claiming Mr. Righteous

WTF do you mean by 'were they easy to operate'? The so-called 'machine' is a LAPTOP. Why should any graduate need more than 10 minutes of training to become used to a mere data entry software layer running on Windows XP or Vista?

A HUGE number of corps members serving are dumbasses who cannot use a computer properly. I find INEC's position perfectly understandable.

Why shouldn't he have that expectation? Why should any graduate not be computer literate?
What the hell do you mean? How many Universities have a computer. If not for these private Universities, most federal and state universities have none. Even my friend who read computer science was finding it difficult to put off my laptop because most Computer Science departments can't posses a computer. So what do u expect?

Source: http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/16273-voter-registration-come-out-to-register-get-free-meal-saraki-promises-kwara-people

IN an effort at making sure that people turn out for the ongoing voter registration exercise in the state, Kwara State governor, Dr Bukola Saraki, on Monday, promised free feeding for all people in the 193 wards in the state.

He also appealed to the people of the state who were of voting age to give the exercise the seriousness it deserved to ensure credible elections.

Dr Saraki disclosed this while addressing a stakeholders’ forum on the ongoing voter registration exercise.

He said that there could be no credible and free elections without a credible voter register, adding that to him, a free and fair as well as credible election starts with a good and credible voter register, which the electorate could trust.

According to him, the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) had commenced the voter registration nationwide, saying that the electoral body had noticed the little hitches in the exercise and was already working to solve the problems.

He appealed to the people of the state to remain patient with the slow pace of the exercise as the INEC staff were doing all that was humanly possible to arrest the situation.

The governor also urged all stakeholders at the meeting to mobilise their people to come out en masse to register, assuring that adequate security arrangements had been put in place to ensure the security of life and property.

Marriage is for men and not for boys. You are not ripe enough for marriage and there is no conviction in you that your woman is the right person for you. You need to be martured at heart before getting married so you don't ruin your life. Endeavour to meet a marriage counsellor in church.

Look for the tape of Tunde Bakare preaching at OAU in 1999 where he prohesied the emergence of a black american president
look for his tape on Obasanjo and listen to everything he said. he said if eventually Obasanjo is sworn in in 1999, evil will rule in this country, now what happened during Obasanjo - How many air tragedies? Ikeja Bomb Cantonment, strikes, assassinations, killings, Niger Delta kidnappings, pipeline bombings. which era witnessed an unprecented human disaster like Obasanjo (Ebora Owu, the demon of owu himself) era

GEJ's speech is all rhetoric. which achievement is convincing in his speech. Tracon is obasanjo, air certification is obasanjo, solution of fuel crisis is not an achievement. Security is zero. Anti-corruption drive, safe for Ibori his opponent is zero. Nigeria's biggest problem is corruption and Jonathan is compromised himself, he has given auto tickets to corrupt governors like Akala.

You guys dont see something i am seeing. Atiku won in the 5 core Northern states (Kebbi, Sokoto, and did well in some others. ACN CPC alliance for Buhari will chase PDP out of power in April. i think i am beginning to see sense in TB's Joshua's and Tunde Bakare's prophecies which tend to agree that neither Jonathan or Atiku will be president in May. I am not that religious but my calculations is looking at this conclusion. ACN delivering west, CPC delivering North (Buhari is more popular than Atiku or Jonathan combined). Buhari is Plan B for the North. I am a southerner, a yoruba, but I support an honest Northerner, Buhari, instead of a corrupt southerner, Jonathan.
I laugh in Swahili. Is it today Tunde Bakare started making prophecies? He's made lots of threatning prophecies about Nigeria that never came to pass.
