Aside the promotion to me a 100k is too small a reward coming from a sitting governor ....he should've done better
She can earn far more than that.

When we open threads that are supportive, promoting and patronising of Ibo interest, they shy away. When we open threads that are abusive and denigrating to Ibo they rush in and participate.

This woman's life can be turned around and benefit the collective Ibo tribe. Zulum has done his part, Yorubas have applauded both, Ibos should now act.

Politics › Re: The Southeast Security Network Name Will Soon Be Unveiled– Governors Forum by MetaPhysical: 12:40am On Feb 10, 2020
Iwonsabi:
After a meeting at Enugu Government House, the Southeast Governors’ Forum has on Sunday, disclosed it has written the Federal Government on its plan to establish a regional security network.

A communique issued after the meeting was read by Chairman of the forum and Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Dave Umahi.

The meeting was also attended by Governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia and Deputy governor of Anambra State, Nkem Okeke.

Imo State was not represented at the meeting, which also witnessed the presence of the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, National Assembly members and religious leaders.

The network name is yet to be known but the forum has announced that the name would be unveiled later, and its headquarters will be in Enugu.

Umahi further disclosed that the operation was birthed before ‘Amotekun’ in the Southwest, and it would soon

Instead of these people to focus on what their people demand of them, they are creating distractions.

Who cares if it was created before Amotekun, is this knowledge going to stop fulani herdsmen going to Enugu?

Help me ask Umahi, when herdsmen heading to Ebonyi to commit atrocities against citizens is told SE security was created before SW security, would that change his mind?

These governors should focus on security and stop measuring dick size.

DAWN should as a matter of fact heed to the call!

After solving the issue of electricity and putting the Yorubas on an independent power grid, there are still things to do.

They should organize an Agricultural revolution such that the citizens of the great Yoruba in both home and diaspora will invest in a central common wealth with the coalition with the 6 SW governors to create a mechanized agricultural farming system.

With electricity in place, we can get tractors/mechanized farming practices and irrigation farming system in our lands and help the farmers by creating siloed area like cold room where farm produce can be stored to preserve them and have a market for those goods.

The Yorubas should start leading the front once more like our baba nla used to do.

This is just an idea from a high level explanation.
Plenty more to do!

I agree bro, particularly in areas of food sufficiency and social services program.

Some developments should be delayed for maximized benefits. Whatever we develop now will end up bringing in a flood of migrants under the Constitutional Acts and thereby deny Yoruba citizens the benefits intended.

Non-Yorubas will demand inclusion and ultimately ruin it.

Power and Energy is different because it is immovable as an infrastructure but can be an enabling vehicle for monopolies in Yoruba advantage.

Oh my! Oh my!

As great as this sounds, it is going to be killed by those in power.

We need our country ooooooooooooooo.

I can't shout it loud enough.

Yorubas need their country.

That is when all these developments can happen.

Have you ever entered the metro in Dubai?

Now imagine that crisscrossing the entire length and breadth of Oodua land.

That can only be possible in a Yoruba nation.

DAWN should focus on liberating Yorubas from this forced marriage called Nigeria.
Very courageous input. DAWN's mandate is for development, they will be overstepping their charter if they should engage in what you described.

We already have a traditional political institute whose role it would be to do what you are suggesting. They do not act on their own, it would take a concensus and a marching order to get them into action for such end goal.

In an unrelated post, elsewhere...I commented that "Yoruba respond to political challenges in a wave....not as a drip". This has deep meaning. grin

RFC - Request For Comment -

Chief Anthony Enahoro contributed more, participated more, acted more and sacrificed more in individual capacity and collective capacity towards the independence and self-rule of Nigeria than did Ahmadu Bello.

Chief Anthony Enahoro would qualify as a Founding Father of the Nigerian Sovereingty, ahead of Ahmadu Bello.

Requesting that Chief Anthony Enahoro be recognized and acknowledged as "Our Founding Father", and going forward be accorded all the honors with which Founding Fathers are privileged.

Yes. When the population was a tenth of what it is today. I know that it hurts any person's pride to think that his/her region cannot stand on its own, especially for a people as tribal in outlook as Nigerians are; but it is a fact. No region in Nigeria today can cope on its own; excluded from the others .
If you meant this to be an intelligent input it failed to achieve that.

Before Nigeria, can you mention any of the individual nations that was self-sufficient? So saying no nation will be self-sufficient after Nigeria collapses is bereft of new ideas...or for that matter an impacting input. It is just flat!

Since this is about Yoruba, we have always allied and partnered with progressive and forward looking civilizations all through our history.

We do not recognize fulani as a peer civilization because there is truly no elements of civilization at the root of fulani caliphate. Terrorism, as evidenced in the acts of dan fodio is not at all civilization.

Dan fodio did not create anything new, instead he destroyed and demolished institutions of civilizations he met on ground and substituted in their place a franchised belief system less noble and less godly than the traditional practice of Hausas and Kanuris.

Before Nigeria collapses we are warning fulani to step up and put on acts of civilization and rid itself of terrorism and brute violence in public place.

After Nigeria collapses we will survive by allying with civilized nations. We do not need fulani....fulani need us!

Politics › Dawn, Initiate An Agenda To Put Western Nigeria On Independent Power Grid by MetaPhysical(op):
To The Director,
Development Agenda for Western Nigeria,

Sango Olukoso, a symbol of Power - Energy, Light & Heat!

Sango is a representation as deity of divine energy and mythical power. In his raised hand he holds an OSE, a staff of his ASE.

ASE is a Yoruba term that means an authority that emanates from divine power.

ASE was first Latinized as AXE´ and later Anglicized into "axe", a powerful utility tool for chopping down obstacles along one's path, and or converting energy by breaking huge trunks of trees down into manageable pieces of firewood used in producing Energy, Light and Heat.

Before development of power tools and vessels which now use combustion engine and stored battery cell, steam engines were powered using coal. Steam-Engine boats, Steam-Engine trains, Boilers, Steam-Valve pneumatics, and so on... The steam-engine depended on naturally mined coal or artificially manufactured coal using wood as raw materials. In both cases, the "axe" remained a handy tool for coal miners and for wood harvesters.

Post steam-engine age, electricity became the mainstream producer of Energy, Light and Heat.

The term electricity was derived from Electra, Greek goddess of rainstorm and cloud energy. In Greek mythology Thor was the thunder god. The marriage or combination of both produce Electromagnetic charges and the genesis of electricity.

In Yoruba civilization, Oya is the goddess of rain and wind storms and clouds, while Sango is god of thunder. Hence we say "Sango oko Oya" to denote the coupling of both to produce electric charges and lightning bolt.

For this reason Sango was adopted at the formation of Nigerian Electric Power Authority, NEPA, as a symbolic statue of its authority or ASE to deliver Energy, Light and Heat to industrial and private consumers in Nigeria.

It is time for Yoruba civilization to revisit and redeem the symbolic image of Sango. His mythical and divine authority should both be symbolized and tapped, using modernity and knowledge of scientific discoveries to actualize and make Energy, Light and Heat an available utility product for all the lands in Nigeria recognized as Yoruba civilization...i.e, Western Nigeria.

It should be noted that Western Nigeria was the first, through colonial influence, to pioneer both steam engine and electricity in Nigeria.

Western Nigeria, through DAWN influence, should divest itself from the Nigerian Power generation and distribution system and create an independent Energy, Light and Heat production and distribution grid to serve its domain of civilization.

Oodua Agbe Wa O!

1964 - weti e!
1983 - Omoboriowo Owoboriomo political shut down
1993 - OPC demands for exit

I remember when northern trailer drivers went on a 3-day strike not so long ago. Yoruba land was reeling from shortage of meat, tomato, pepper and onions, while truck loads were rotting in the North. I can imagine what will happen if this proposal is put into place. The fact is, no region in Nigeria can successfully survive on its own. It will take at least 3 to 4 generations to set up each region to be fully self sufficient, even with the best of intention, accurate data and absolute efficiency.

They would also do well to remember that a high volume of the goods from trade and industry in Yoruba land is either consumed in, or transited via, the East or in the North. This childish reaction of a tribal form of "I will not play with you again" everytime the soon hits the pot is getting irritating.
The richest region in Nigeria is Yoruba. The best positioned to sea advantage is Yoruba. The best positioned to cross-border advantage is Yoruba.

Food shortage or deficiency will be least of our worries. Now, imagine what happens to you in North if we blockade your access to markets in South. You cannot sell your produce, you cannot sell your meat, you cannot even bring in any imports through sea. I remind you that Yoruba own the entire coastal line from Ondo to Togo. So forget about using access in Benin and Togo to import through the sea. It will be a total sufferhead for you. All your imports must come from the Mediterranean sea across desert....bandits are waiting to intercept your goods and steal them.

Go and get a map....Nigeria did not allow you to know you are landlocked. Yoruba will wake you up to that reality.

Seeing her picture alone made me like her at first sight.

You will see she is a righteous and simple woman who wants the best for the people around her and you’ll see the image of a mother in her.

Zulum is a kind of leader a country should pray for. Most of our governors only do these kind of things when it’s time for election.
Very true!
What moved me is her humility. You see she stood there talking to the governor and once the governor rwturned with some cash reward for her, she was very appreciative.

Look bro, Im telling you....

To Ibo leaders that want to build bridge towards 2023 presidency, here is your bridge engineer, Mrs Obiageli.....get her!

Legend, this woman is what they call political campaign tokenism. You see a politician greeting a crowd of people and all of a sudden a little 3yr old stretches its arms and wants to go with the politician. Just little kids instincts...but a big camera advantage for the politician to "touch hearts" and win over parents and grandparents watching the drama and the attachment between baby and politician. Mrs Obiageli is an attachment and Ibo politicians should bring her up in every political discussion now and ask the nation to witness their sacrifice and value....the good side of Ibo!

I am yet to see anyone who saw the encounter and was not moved.

Stop killing snakes people. Please stop it!

They have a usefulness in the eco system. If you kill them all you will end up with a new and uncontrolable eco problem that society will find difficult to manage.

Leave these snakes alone. Trust me, snakes are aware of your presence and they see you long before you have sighted them. They have better sight and sensitivity than humans. If you kill a snake you did not save yourself from its danger....it coupd have struck and attack you long before you were aware of its presence. In fact there are many snakes you dont even see and they saw you but ignored you. They know to avoid humans, they hide themselves and avoid detection. When you detect them dont kill them, call people to come and catch it and release into wilderness.

Stop killing serpents, please people!
