naptu2:Thanks for the lengthy response and the care you put into its clarification. I do not recall at any time in the history of Nigeria when a clash between West and Arabs or entities in MidEast has resulted in any wave of disturbance in the entire Sovereign State of Nigeria. Usually any uprising in support of MidEast and Arab sentiments has been narrowed to the North. On that basis, this nationwide alert is unecessary. The IGP should have followed precedence. In particular, there are Shiites in North who out of sympathy and spiritual allegiance might come out to support Iran. Still, their actions, even as they rally for release of their leader, Zakzaky, has so far never exceeded the Northern boundaries. It is an act of incompetence that the IGP would throw out a blanket order without an actionable intelligence to base his alert on. I do not mind him being proactive for volatile North....I take offense to him extendimg the alert to restive South. Since we are talking about Iran, a foreign nation. Assuming Iran intends any harm for Western assets in Nigeria, their reach, skill, knowledge and operational strategy to deploy stealthily and carry out a terror is all too high level for Nigerian Police to detect or thwart....it should be an assignment for Nigerian Army. |
Atouke:The little square footage of land Ibo have you want to reduce it even further. These lands you mentioned - Aba, Ngwa, Abiriba and Arochuckwu - are the axis of cannibalism. Are you saying those cannibals were all along Ibibio people, and not Igbo? This is huge awakening. |
Kulverstukas:If he likes he can receive instruction from Musa Gusau, how does a cabal hope to be effective when even wife of the President could spot their mission and motive. What kind of cabal is that...they are very transparent. Too transparent! They need to be called pimps, not cabals. They are pimping Buhari. |
naptu2:Naptu, I hope your comment is not in defense of the hopeless IGP. You are just being patriotic, correct? When fulani herdsmen were terrorizing communities did IGP put police on nationwide alert to curb criminality? Why is he putting them on alert on this issue between America and Iran? Stay a patriot but please dont speak in defense of these nuisance leaders. |
fineguy11:You are absolutely right on that post! Iran will make this war about their nationalism....their spiritual values! When Bush named the axis of evil Iran was included in the three. The other two were Iraq and North Korea. The Iranians knew their day is coming and have spent time to restructure and plant assets in places where before they had zero influence. There is hardly anywhere in mideast that Iran does not currently have one or two militias on its payroll and backing. Beside that....lets look at North Korea. So how will they receive the idea of America taking out one axis of evil after the other? Iraq and Iran gone.....how long before America will come for them? They might start a preemptive war to put America on notice. Who wants to deal with all these mess? They need to impeach Trump right away if that will bring an end to the conflict. |
Vortex369:America was warned on the consequence of taking battle to Iraq. It will destabilize the region. Has that not happened? Give me one single gain America got by invading Iraq. Just a single one. Terrorism has become an income earning enterprise for youths trapped in poverty. Terrorism is no longer about Arabs or Islam....but about power and capital. The terrorism of Osama Bin Landen is different from terrorism of ISIS. One is about chasing out infidels from Arab land....the latter is about earning income. They have learnt when America is in MidEast money flows. When America leaves money dries. So they prolong conflicts and push America buttons to provoke sending more troops and budget to mideast. Can you all not see? Dont you know ISIS fighters have been caught and turned out to be Christians? They use religion to stoke sentiments and agenda but underground they recruit any and all looking for income and control. This problem of terrorism will escalate and the fighters and their ideologies will splinter and metamorphorse to become a bigger danger in future. They are not illiterates like we are told. These are guys with college degrees, some in their top leadership have masters in science, engineering and even computer. They should not be under-estimated. The best option here is for neutral countries to jump in and convince both sides to exercise constraint. We dont want another war so soon. |
I read comments on a possible face off between US and Iran. I noticed many contributions portray the mindset of blackman about war - destruction and more destruction. I am yet to read a concise input from a strategic background. Everyone is talking about "wipeout", "annihilate", "destroy".... Wars are not necessarily about destruction. America and its allies are built for conventional and symmetrical wars, they design their battlefront hardwares and all its features for this purpose. The equipments and resources put into the war have a lifespan. When that lifespan expires the advantages of war start to recede. America fights in different conflicts around the globe and their opponents in these conflicts have varying degrees of military and political resources at different stages of attainment. In America military power is an industry, a capitalist investment. In a country like Iran nationalism is a spiritual devotion. America will go into war with intent to maximize intense firepower and decapitate the leadership in very short timeframe and try to fill the political vacuum with substitutes answerable to Washington. This is a borrowing from the old and tested principle of indirect rule practiced by Britain on foreign soil. Another factor that will play in this conflict is America's lessons in Iraq and how it will play on such issues as rebuilding. First, Iran is Shiite. This means America must rebuild the political structure with Shiites. Middle East Muslims are Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds. 1. Syria is Sunni and pro- Iran. 2. Kurds are pro-Iran. 3. In Iraq America chased out Baathists and gave control to Shiite. 4. In Afghanistan America chased out Taliban and gave country to Shiite. 5. Lebanon has Hezbollah, pro Iran. 6. There are are all kinds of militia groups under command of Iran. Is American hardware and military apparatus capable and willing to endure for a 30yr war in MidEast? In assymetrical warfare enemies are known to metamorphorse using different tactics to prolong a war far much farther than it should normally take. We saw it happen to Eussia in Afghanistan. It has happened to America in Vietnam, in Iraq and Afghanistan. Trump should be taken away from twitter so he can think well and reflect. This war should not be fought. Right thinking diplomats should dispatch and get this issue deescalated asap! |

Last February, some of Iran's most influential leaders gathered at the Amir al-Momenin Mosque, in northeast Tehran, inside a gated community reserved for officers of the Revolutionary Guard. They had come to pay their last respects to a fallen comrade. Hassan Shateri, a veteran of Iran’s covert wars throughout the Middle East and South Asia, was a senior commander in a powerful, élite branch of the Revolutionary Guard called the Quds Force. The force is the sharp instrument of Iranian foreign policy, roughly analogous to a combined C.I.A. and Special Forces; its name comes from the Persian word for Jerusalem, which its fighters have promised to liberate. Since 1979, its goal has been to subvert Iran’s enemies and extend the country’s influence across the Middle East. Shateri had spent much of his career abroad, first in Afghanistan and then in Iraq, where the Quds Force helped Shiite militias kill American soldiers. Shateri had been killed two days before, on the road that runs between Damascus and Beirut. He had gone to Syria, along with thousands of other members of the Quds Force, to rescue the country’s besieged President, Bashar al-Assad, a crucial ally of Iran. In the past few years, Shateri had worked under an alias as the Quds Force’s chief in Lebanon; there he had helped sustain the armed group Hezbollah, which at the time of the funeral had begun to pour men into Syria to fight for the regime. The circumstances of his death were unclear: one Iranian official said that Shateri had been “directly targeted” by “the Zionist regime,” as Iranians habitually refer to Israel. At the funeral, the mourners sobbed, and some beat their chests in the Shiite way. Shateri’s casket was wrapped in an Iranian flag, and gathered around it were the commander of the Revolutionary Guard, dressed in green fatigues; a member of the plot to murder four exiled opposition leaders in a Berlin restaurant in 1992; and the father of Imad Mughniyeh, the Hezbollah commander believed to be responsible for the bombings that killed more than two hundred and fifty Americans in Beirut in 1983. Mughniyeh was assassinated in 2008, purportedly by Israeli agents. In the ethos of the Iranian revolution, to die was to serve. Before Shateri’s funeral, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the country’s Supreme Leader, released a note of praise: “In the end, he drank the sweet syrup of martyrdom.” Kneeling in the second row on the mosque’s carpeted floor was Major General Qassem Suleimani, the Quds Force’s leader: a small man of fifty-six, with silver hair, a close-cropped beard, and a look of intense self-containment. It was Suleimani who had sent Shateri, an old and trusted friend, to his death. As Revolutionary Guard commanders, he and Shateri belonged to a small fraternity formed during the Sacred Defense, the name given to the Iran-Iraq War, which lasted from 1980 to 1988 and left as many as a million people dead. It was a catastrophic fight, but for Iran it was the beginning of a three-decade project to build a Shiite sphere of influence, stretching across Iraq and Syria to the Mediterranean. Along with its allies in Syria and Lebanon, Iran forms an Axis of Resistance, arrayed against the region’s dominant Sunni powers and the West. In Syria, the project hung in the balance, and Suleimani was mounting a desperate fight, even if the price of victory was a sectarian conflict that engulfed the region for years. Suleimani took command of the Quds Force fifteen years ago, and in that time he has sought to reshape the Middle East in Iran’s favor, working as a power broker and as a military force: assassinating rivals, arming allies, and, for most of a decade, directing a network of militant groups that killed hundreds of Americans in Iraq. The U.S. Department of the Treasury has sanctioned Suleimani for his role in supporting the Assad regime, and for abetting terrorism. And yet he has remained mostly invisible to the outside world, even as he runs agents and directs operations. “Suleimani is the single most powerful operative in the Middle East today,” John Maguire, a former C.I.A. officer in Iraq, told me, “and no one’s ever heard of him.” When Suleimani appears in public—often to speak at veterans’ events or to meet with Khamenei—he carries himself inconspicuously and rarely raises his voice, exhibiting a trait that Arabs call khilib, or understated charisma. “He is so short, but he has this presence,” a former senior Iraqi official told me. “There will be ten people in a room, and when Suleimani walks in he doesn’t come and sit with you. He sits over there on the other side of room, by himself, in a very quiet way. Doesn’t speak, doesn’t comment, just sits and listens. And so of course everyone is thinking only about him.” At the funeral, Suleimani was dressed in a black jacket and a black shirt with no tie, in the Iranian style; his long, angular face and his arched eyebrows were twisted with pain. The Quds Force had never lost such a high-ranking officer abroad. The day before the funeral, Suleimani had travelled to Shateri’s home to offer condolences to his family. He has a fierce attachment to martyred soldiers, and often visits their families; in a recent interview with Iranian media, he said, “When I see the children of the martyrs, I want to smell their scent, and I lose myself.” As the funeral continued, he and the other mourners bent forward to pray, pressing their foreheads to the carpet. “One of the rarest people, who brought the revolution and the whole world to you, is gone,” Alireza Panahian, the imam, told the mourners. Suleimani cradled his head in his palm and began to weep. The early months of 2013, around the time of Shateri’s death, marked a low point for the Iranian intervention in Syria. Assad was steadily losing ground to the rebels, who are dominated by Sunnis, Iran’s rivals. If Assad fell, the Iranian regime would lose its link to Hezbollah, its forward base against Israel. In a speech, one Iranian cleric said, “If we lose Syria, we cannot keep Tehran.” Although the Iranians were severely strained by American sanctions, imposed to stop the regime from developing a nuclear weapon, they were unstinting in their efforts to save Assad. Among other things, they extended a seven-billion-dollar loan to shore up the Syrian economy. “I don’t think the Iranians are calculating this in terms of dollars,” a Middle Eastern security official told me. “They regard the loss of Assad as an existential threat.” For Suleimani, saving Assad seemed a matter of pride, especially if it meant distinguishing himself from the Americans. “Suleimani told us the Iranians would do whatever was necessary,” a former Iraqi leader told me. “He said, ‘We’re not like the Americans. We don’t abandon our friends.’ ”

Cabal originates from Kabalah, a powerful but invincible force in the metaphysical realm. Cabal is applied to symbolize or represent an invincible circle of influence that sorround and contribute input to a leader's sets of policy. If they are visible, and identifiable to the public.....they are no longer a Cabal. Cabal must not be known or heard by the public! |
I want Pastor Bakare to cast and bind these enemies in the name of Jesus! No need for long talk! |
EcoBrick:Precisely! Thats why I dont like what Trump just did. Because of one man, now thousands of American troops are going into an unecessary and avoidable risks. During the war against Iraq and Afghanistan American citizens in MidEast were targets of abduction and terror. For past ten years that had subsided and citizens were again able to move in and out of MidEast without incidence. Trump has again put lives of those citizens in danger. Iraq has become a colony, so to speak, of Iran. Their political leaders, Shiites, defer to Khameini in Iran. The Kurds listen to Iran. Syria listens to Iran. Lebanon listens to Iran. Even in Afghanistan, they listen to Iran. Whichever way we look at it American superior military power will crush Iran and topple the government in less than a week but the chain reaction throughout Iran's circle of influence is a great concern and a jeopardy for Americans for a long time to come. Beside, Iranian citizens will also have great calamity to deal with. World leaders must bring this escalation to a halt immediately. There is nothing Iran can do to bring back Soleimani, so why go to war for loss of one General, and waste more lives.....to prove what exactly? Give the guy a martyr burial and move on. |
itsme01:I read the other day a very sad news and wondered this same thought when i read how wife of a RCCG pastor, herself an ordained pastor, kept laying hands on the corpse of her husband, repeatedly kept touching and praying in a similar demonstration when performing miracle, as if she expected her anointment to wake the husband up from death. It is time Christians wake up to reality and accept that everyone, including pastor, are all vulnerable to same danger and risks. There is no miracle anywhere, i dont care how many times a man claims he was anointed....he is lying. I can ask a Babalawo to call on certain forces to bend the elements....and after certain incantations they will make it happen. In fact at a point in their war bokoharam had made moves to go get some spiritual reinforcement from Babalawos. I dont know if they did or not. Chief of Army, Buratai also held a summit in which he declared that Army must use spiritual force to match bokoharam in its evasive tactics. Church is for salvation, not for miracle. They are doing to their congregation same thing and committing same offense that a 35yr old criminal did when he convinced a 39yr old woman that he needed to sleep with her two daughters, a 13yr old and a 19yr old, for several days because the act is a "miracle" that will heal and cure her sick son. The gullible woman gave him her two daughters. This is what those in Church that go for miracle are....like this woman, gullible! |
I like what Abaribe said, he demystified the ominous political enclave popularly labelled "The North". There is nothing called The North.....its a package retained for advantages. It is time those advantages are broken up. Other Southern politicians need to echo what he said and kill the notion of a oneness and unity of North. |

This calls for diplomacy. World leaders should intervene and calm nerves quickly. US would wipe Iran out but it won't be a walk over. We saw what happened in Iraq. There are thousands of young soldiers that would never regain their life but what has been the gain of such huge sacrifice to America since the war was fought? Nothing really. In its aftermath we have seen collateral damages in Libya, in Syria, even the Iraq they went to war over has never regained itself. No need for it. I hope world leaders are able to suppress the aggression and bring everyone to calm. If Iran retaliates NATO will get involved. Russia will not allow NATO to amass troops in Turkey or anywhere in close proximity. North Korea will up its demands on US. China will go for Taiwan. The collateral and secondary conflicts will br too many but globally impacting. In fact it could result in food shortage globally as they setup embargos and blockades on the various seas and corridors of shipment. So lets becareful and think before we start jumping for joy. We in Africa would be worst hit. We do not manufacture and the countries we depend on for finished products would have converted their industrial resources to war support. Lets not pray for war. Think critically. |
Olu317:I dont have any personally to share but Im just saying where the collections exist the artworks should be viewed as a form of ancient writing and their interpretation should be indexed for understanding of new knowledge. |
PointZerom:I support US, but I do not support Trump taking out this guy. Soleimani has been on US radar like you said...since Bush, then Obama before Trump. Bush spent 8yrs, Obama spent 8, total of 16. The fact they contained and monitored him meant something. Sometimes you are better off keeping your enemy under watch where you can read all his intents and plots. If you take him out you eliminate your source for information on the opposition camp. Soleimani is just a head of a military unit...he is not the head of the military itself and not the head of the political structure of Iran. Now Iran will see that they had been too open if US could just that easily get head of their Guard unit .....and they will begin to close up and even stage a phony structure to camouflage their behind the scene schemings. I dont mind that US protects its assets in the region...in fact they are entitled to, but this elimination will notvbe received well by guys in CIA who need to keep track on Solimani to maintain their espionage advantage over Iran. |

nlPoster:There has been many mentions of Yoruba records written by scribes using Ajami scripts. I know Prof Amadu Sanni is working on a project with Timbouctou Archives to retrieve/restore the ones he has so far located. Many cannot be found. Adire and many other indigeneous textiles also comprised of visual arts and information to decrypt messages...so is body tattoo. For instance, when a lady tattoos lizard on arm, what does it mean? How about geometric shapes and dots, what do they mean? A triangle sitting alone may signify one message...but when combined with circle it may mean another. If the triangle is circumscribed by the circle thats a different message from a circle inscribed in the triangle. All these things are significant. Yoruba arts contain many geometric and space attributes. I am yet to see any work of scholarship carried out on this subject. I have come across research work done by a white man named Smith. I have to get his name and website and post later. This man studied Ifa and he was able to equate certain to Odu to mathematical theorems and quantum physics. He even reproduced dynamic spatial vectors produced by certain stanza in Ifa. He believes Ifa teaches on static and dynamic properties. Static and dynamic energy are the two properties used in eletromagnetic force - emf - to generate power or thrust or mechanical motion. Can you imagine? What are Yoruba scholars doing? But when we open threads like this to highlight past deeds of ancestors, instead of them to look introspectively for hidden benefits to highlight advancements...they will rather spike it with negativity and condemnation. |
