*SAYS ARMY STILL PATROLLING COMMUNITY
UMUAHIA – The family of the Leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has accused the Commissioner of Police, Abia State, Mr. Ene Okon, of being ‘the major security threat” to the burial ceremony of their late parents, Eze Israel Kanu, and Ugoeze Sally Kanu, slated for Friday, February 14. The family has also cried out against the continued presence of soldiers in their Isiama Afaraukwu Ibeku country home. Spokesman of the family, Emmanuel Kanu, in an interview with journalists in Umuahia, expressed disappointment over the utterances of the police boss which he said was causing “unnecessary tension” in the state.
He accused the CP of raising false alarm to justify a possible military action against mourners and guests of the family on the false pretext that they are IPOB members. Kanu said the CP was deliberately creating the false impression that the burial would be turned into a rally for Biafra agitation by IPOB members, ” an imaginary fiction that only exists in the mind of our mockers.” In his words: “How on earth can anybody imagine that the burial of Onyeze (traditional ruler) will suddenly be turned into agitation ground? ” It’s ridiculous that the CP has decided to concoct all kinds of tales to demarket our family, disrupt the ceremony and find excuses for more killings of our people and innocent mourners tagging them as IPOB members. ” The CP is busy dishing out false information about the real situation in our community. His intelligence gathering is poor and questionable if he believes anybody has any sinister plans other than the burial that day. ” Afaraukwu is peaceful and will remain so before, during and after the burial except if the security agencies themselves are hatching such evil plots . Our community does not need the heavy presence of security for ordinary traditional burial. “
“Nobody is armed in our community and we have made this position very clear that we are only going to conduct a peaceful burial for our late parents. ” The Army, police and other security agencies should leave us alone and stop creating panic in the state. We don’t want any of our guests to be harassed or killed under any guise.” He called on the international community to hold the CP, the Army and the Federal Government responsible should anything untoward happen to mourners, and guests to the family during the burial.

Police dey look for support. You are on your own!

Nigerians with a good conscience must condemn Nnamdi Kanu’s misguided statement/threat in order to forestall any clash between the security agencies and IPOB.
Nigerians with good conscience are behind Kanu. We will condemn the police if you shoot any ipob. There is not going to be a clash and you will not shoot anybody so Okon and his children can be at peace. Those ipobs are people children also.

Moreover, Kanu's parents' home is private property, anyone can gather there if the family approve, it is not govt business since its not public property. Police has no business there.

Àmòtékùn: Open Letter to SouthWest Governors, Attorney Generals & Lawmakers

Dear Governors, Attorney Generals and Lawmakers of the Yoruba nation, here is my utmost contribution and percieved insight to laws that should guide the: A. Amotekun corps memers, B. The establishments, C. Security database and residential registration and the use of D. Ammunition.

I hope the following provide some insights to the Amotekun Law making:

A. Amotekun Corp members:

i.  Shall not partake in any political activity - before, during or after election - whether when on uniform or out of uniform.

ii.  Shall not serve as private guard or escort to politician, and or any individual of affluence or name.

iii.  Shall not estort money by any mean from people. They should not be involve in any activity that's related to cash payment or reception.

B.  Establishments: there shall be the following establishments

i.  Establishment of special training centers for initiation, orientation, training and for constant re-training of Amotekun corps members. Creation of training manual and exams to ensure proper understanding of international community policing ethics and the understanding of Nigeria constitution and respect for human rights.

ii.  Establishiment of reporting units (and release of phone numbers) for swift action against illegal activities and for reportage of non law abiding Amotekun corps.

iii.  Establishment of swift action and reporting centers (with release of phone number just like 911) for people to instantly make reports of suspicous activities, movement and sightings of likely terrorist and bandit.

iv.  Establishment of collation center for instant reportage by family of kidnap victims about events (surrounding) and information about location of where the kidnapping was done.

v. Establishment of well developed and technologically equipped (world class) intelligence gathering unit for first hand information about bandits activity, and movement monitoring. Knowlegde is power!

vi.  Training on use of drones (mounted with cameras) and satelite technology (using satelite arial pictures) to monitor and discover hideout and movements of terrorist in the southwest forest. The world is more than ever developed, therefor, the Amotekun corps need not to use brute force and risk their live unnecessary at fighting terror but technology-wise and intelligence gardering.

3.  Security Databases and Southwest Residential registration:

i.  Registration of people base on state of residence in the each state of south west and also the collection of free permit at the enterance of every southwest state to prevent illegal immigration to the south western state.

ii.  Every resident of south west should (be issued and) carry south west residential I.D card and or any other means of identification (everywhere they go) to ensure better security of life.

iii.  Proper registration and licencing of all Okada riders and all herdsmen working in the south western states.... Both the locals (westborns) herdsmen and immigrant herdsmen to the south west states must have government issued occupational ID card in conjuction with their southwest residential ID card (if they are also a southwest resident).

iv.  Access to local databases should be given to specially trained Amotekun corps while a kind of limited access to residential's database should be given to all Amotekun Corps in general.

4.  Ammunition:
i.  Gun is very important as it is illogical to create a stick carrying Security corps and expect them to provide protection against terrorist and bandits with sophisticated weapons. However, proper orientation trainings should be conducted for the corps on use of firearms. Allocation of and movement guns should be properly regulated and strong law should be in place to curb improper use and distribution of guns by the Amotekun corps.

Thanks.

Sarakist:
Nigeria Has Got to do Something about Population Explosion in Northern Nigeria

By Ugonna Utulor

February 10, 2020.

The future of this country is already bleak enough but a more precarious catastrophe is the uncontrollable population explosion especially in the north.

It's not rare to see one Hausa/Fulani man who cannot feed 10 people having up to 50 kids. Majority of these kids end up on the streets. They become easy recruits for insurgents. Most others become cattle rearers who today are the dreaded killer herdsmen. Yet others move south and become cobblers, gate men, petty traders, okada riders and yes, criminals.

Nigeria is the poverty capital of the world because of this. Muhammed Sanusi II, Emir of Kano, was right when boldly stated that marrying many wives and giving birth to many kids was the cause of poverty in the north. No one can feed such population. Even if government decides to put them on some form of welfare, there will never be enough to carter to their needs.

And what more? No one is ready to train these kids. Even though there are not enough schools to train them, some informal and moral education at home would have perhaps made them to be more useful to the society. Instead they're left to learn on their own and they almost always learn the wrong things.

Yet their fathers are still giving birth to more kids.

Just the other day, the leader of the House of Representatives Hon. Alhassan Ado-Doguwa claimed on the floor of the house that he already had 27 kids and still counting! God forbid but prevanture his political opponents decide to assassinate him who will take care of his many kids? It has also emerged that his father has 40 kids.

Senator Abbo Elisha of Adamawa has been reported to have an 11- month old uncle from his step mother.

The north is giving birth to children it cannot feed. And you know what happens when you raise children in hunger? They become angry. They become psychopaths, they kill,  they destroy and they don't care.

The north has to be confronted with this. They have to realize that very soon Boko Haram will be child's play.

The north should support legislation to reduce the number of children that can be fathered by one man and I suggest five.

The north  should speak up because this catastrophe will hit them first. But it won't only affect the north. These kids move south and become a lot of things.

They come south and compete for unavailable resources while also contributing to noise pollution, traffic congestion and heinous crimes.

So southerners should speak up. Mr. Speaker, southerners should speak up. Mr. Speaker you have to show you are powerful. You have to confront this powerful disaster with a powerful bill.

Ibo are asked to build bridge and commit to the Nigerian project, but if this Mr Ugonna think this write up is build-bridging he has failed.

He is turning a North problem into a Nigerian problem....why?

This population explosion is a problem for Northern leaders to figure out and resolve, I dont want my people in Yorubaland worrying about population explosion in North or mandated to fund a solution for it.

Let me troubleshoot this writeup...a question for Mr Ugonna...

How should rest of Nigeria feel if Northerners ask for 100billion naira funding to target this irresponsibly tagged "Nigerian problem"?

Allow Northerners to tackle their problem, its not a Nigerian issue.

Carlmax:
If I am a Muslim during my lifetime, please bury me as a Muslim. It is totally wrong and disrespectful to the corpse for it to be buried according to a rite he has stopped believing in.
Hisbah could have approached the issue a different way.

First, tthey should not reject the family right on their kin. Contesting with them over ownership of the corpse was wrong.

If you notice, the Hisbah attempt was to sneak the body out of mortuary and give it a burial without the family's knowledge or presence. The family outsmarted them. How do I know this? Obinwa's kins were not at the burial...even if under pretext of playing along with the wrong corpse.

Hisbah and the Imam should have dispatched a delegation to Obinwa's family and console them on the death of their son. At the sitting they will share with the family that because he died a muslim they'd love to give him an islamic burial. The family would reject. The delegation must then follow up and ask for their permission to give him a special prayer and then release the body to them for burial.
I don't think his family would object to this.

The critical part in Islamic rite of burial is a special cleansing of the body and sending it off with a special prayer. Once this is completed the body can be disposed in numerous ways.

If a muslim on a ship sail died at sea, would they turn the ship back so they can bury the body on land? No! You cleanse it, give it prayer and toss it.

So Hisbah was wrong and the Imam was wrong in treating Obinwa's family with contempt. They could have given him an islamic rite and released his body to family to take home for whatever suit their desire. If they like they dance with it, thats their cup of tea, its their flesh and blood.

Their voice should be heard. You guys need to respect and accept that diversity brings growth and progress. Allow your muslim brothers to practice Islam openly.

Although you said you are expressing a personal opinion, while a dead-body is indeed unconscious, it doesn't mean the "person" is unconscious. He can still think, feel, hear and speak after detaching from the "dead" body. Burials should be simple and quick. This is one thing I appreciate our Muslim folks for.
People can sometimes fall into long comma. A too quick burial can thus end in error when a comatose body is buried.

Why is hisbah over-ruling the choice of Abdullahi Obinwa's family to bury his remains in Onitsha? They said he is muslim and therefore cannot be taken back home because they did not trust the family to give him a befitting muslim burial, so they applied to the Sharia Judge to rule based on Obinwa's religion.

Mistaken identity: How Igbo christian was buried in Muslim grave in Kano

When Chief Basil Chukwumeze Obiefule Ejesi died on December 26 last year in Kano State, his family members and kinsmen had hoped to carry his remains back to his hometown in Amucha, Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State for burial.

But his final journey back home turned out to be a very long one as he was mistaken for another deceased person and buried in Kano in a grave marked for a Muslim, one Abdullahi Obinwa, who hailed from Anambra State, but changed his faith while in Kano.

The late Ejesi, who was said to have been born in Kano some 60 years ago, was survived by his wife and children, among them a pharmacist. He lived in his own house at Number 18 Aitken Road in Sabon-Garri Area of the state capital.

A family relation of the deceased, Mr Felix Ezeala, told the story of the fatal error of mistaken identity of Egesi who was finally buried at Amucha on January 30, 2020, saying that his late towns man had suddenly taken ill and was rushed to the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, on December 24, last year, where he eventually died on the morning of December 26, following complications related to hypertension.

“His corpse was taken to the mortuary section and the deceased tally number was 22. Two of his immediate relatives were there, in the person of Felix Nwanze and Bath Ejesi, his cousin. They registered their names as the people with the tally number and who would visit the corpse and see how it was, until the time to take it to the East.

“A wake-keep was arranged to hold on the 24th January 2020. However, when the relatives of the deceased went to the hospital on that Friday – that date was billed for his wake-keep, they were shocked at their finding.

“They went there with his casket and the clothes for his dressing, but when they went there with the tally number, hoping to see the corpse in good condition, surprisingly the Chief Morticians, one Abdulwahid Buhari, told them that the corpse had been released to Hisbah.

“They asked him what had the corpse of their brother to do with Hisbah? They were told that it was an order of a Sharia Upper Court, situated opposite the Emir’s inside the city. They were totally confused. It was at this point that they called on my attention to the development.

“When they called me, I was equally uncomfortable with the development. I know the late Basil as a complete gentleman to the core. He was not a troublesome person during his lifetime. I wondered in my mind. What could have led to his corpse being taken away by Hisbah?

“We then decided to go the said Sharia Upper Court to establish what had transpired. All of us went to the Sharia Upper Court. We inquired from the registrar what had actually transpired. He said yes that it was from this court that they issued the order.

“He explained that there was a complaint that he was a Muslim and had died and that they (Hisbah) wanted to bury him according to Islamic rites, but his family had refused.

“But we told the registrar that there was a mistake because our brother’s profile did not fit into what he had described as our brother Basil who had died as a devout Christian.

“At this point, the registrar asked us to go and come back when the judge who gave the order would return. He said that the judge was not around to give us the comprehensive details of the judgment.

“At that moment I called the Director of Department of State Services to intimate him on what was going on. I also called the Commissioner of Police to also to intimidate him.

“But before the judge could come back, we went back to the hospital and met the Chief Medical Director. He called the acting HoD of the Pathology Department. He asked him about the court order that was minuted to him, including what exactly transpired?

“He brought out the paper and what the paper read was one Abdullahi Obinwa. He then said that if the name of the intended corpse was Abdullahi Obinwa, how come they released the corpse of one Basil Ejesi to Hisbah?

The pathologist responded that he only minuted on the same memo to the Chief Mortician for appropriate action, saying that the Mortician was in the best position to answer the question about the mix-up. Then, they called the Chief Morticians and asked him to bring the record.

“In the record, we saw the exact name of our brother written, his age, 60 years was also written and his tally number. It was there that they discovered that it was a wrong corpse that they released to the Sharia police.

“Then we went back to the court, with the Chief Legal Adviser of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, one Barrister Nasidi, alongside the acting HoD of the Pathology Department and the Chief Mortician. The judge told us that they acted based on the application made by Hisbah in respect of one Abdullahi Obinwa, who had been a Moslem since 1978.

“The judge said that his order was very clear to them that when they get to the mortuary, they should ensure that the corpse they were to take was that of the late Abdullahi Obinwa and no other person’s.

“He added that his order included that they were to get three witnesses to also confirm and sign the paper that it was Abdullahi’s corpse. He showed us documented evidence that he actually gave those orders.

“The judge said that he made room for the family of the said Abdullahi Obinwa to be contacted, saying that they contacted his wife, but they returned to say that his wife was not cooperating.

“He said that he sent for the wife, but she refused to come. And even when they gave her paper to write why, she wrote something that was immediately clear.

“It was there and then that they decided to take the corpse to the Gandu Albasa Mosque and call on the Chief Imam who knew the late Obinwa well enough. Again the judge said that he ordered that the Chief Imam should also get three others to reconfirm the deceased and after their signing the papers, they should bring them back to him for the record of the court.

“The record he showed indicated that they went through all the directives of the court and returned the signed papers. It was then that they buried the man on 20th January, 2020.

“The judge then asked us what we wanted. In response, we demanded for the corpse of our late brother. At that point, he explained that he could not ask for the corpse to be exhumed immediately until he has heard from the other party. For equity and justice to prevail, all the parties should return back by 9:00a.m on Monday.

“On Monday, we set out to the Sharia court in the company of the wife of the deceased and his first son, who is also a pharmacist. On arrival, we were met by those who gave the wrong information to the judge. When the life photograph of our late brother was presented, it became clear that a mistake had occurred. The person who helped out the most was the one who went and brought an album of the late Abdullahi Obinwa.

“It was now easy to compare the two deceased persons. They showed them to the judge and the judge showed it the complainants who immediately confessed that they had made a mistake. There and then the judge rebuked them for their mistake and drew our attention to the fact that he acted on the information given to him, pointing out that he neither knew the late Obinwa or the late Basil.

“The judge, however, observed that only a superior court has the power to upturn his judgment. But I think the lawyers there, including the legal adviser of the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, and our own lawyer reminded him that ab initio his order was improper as he had no jurisdiction over Aminu Kano Teaching hospital, which is a federal establishment.

“Somehow, the lawyers settled their thing and the judge reasoned with them. He thereafter wrote a letter to the DPO at Sharada, asking him to provide cover for the Hisbah officials and the staff of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital to go and exhume the corpse from the cemetery and hand it over to his family.

“He ordered that they should open the corpse, invite the family to see and certify that what they were about to be given was their brothers corpse, while saying that he would not like another complaint to arise from the present order.

“The deceased was exhumed, taken to the hospital and he was okay. Nothing was tampled with. His body was complete when we received it. The Hisbah officials gave us a paper to sign that we met his body in good condition for which I was a signatory.

“The body of the deceased was released to us and departed from Kano on Tuesday in the morning by 8 O’clock and arrived at Orlu by Wednesday. The corpse was buried on Friday by 12:00 midday in his home,” he narrated.

THE IMAM’S SIDE OF THE STORY

According to a BBC report, Aminu Adam, the Chief Imam of Gadun Albasa Mosque, who led in the burial rites, admitted that he made an error.

“We were told that Abdullahi Obinwa was number 22 on the mortuary and when I went to identify the corpse, Basil Ejensi looked like Obinwa, who had lived with us for 40 years.

“They were both chubby and not too tall, but there was no beard. When I asked the mortuary attendant, he said that they sometimes remove beards from bodies so I assumed it was Obinwa,” he explained.

THE MISSING CORPSE OF LATE ABDULLAHI OBINWA

It is a tradition of Igbo people outside Igbo land to take their corpses home.

However, problem always arises if the deceased had changed his faith or had been converted to another faith during his life-time.

The thinking of members of the host community was that if the corpse was taken to Igbo land, the deceased would certainly not be buried according to the faith he had professed during his life time.

That was the case of the said Abdullahi Obinwa, who hailed from Onitsha in Anambra State.

Checks conducted by Sunday Sun showed that the deceased came to Kano years ago through the invitation of a sister who was also not a Christian.

He was the Secretary to the council of the former Eze Ndigbo, Igwe O. T. Nnadi and played a role in the Igbo traditional association in the state in those days. He was a professed Muslim who had lived in Shagari Quarters in the 90s.

A source from the late Obinwa’s community in the state told Sunday Sun that towards the later part of his life, he moved out of Kundila Estate to a predominantly Christian residential quarters on Ijebu Road in Sabon Garri Area. It was gathered that he was sick for some years and eventually gave up recently.

When he died, the source said, his corpse was taken to the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, from where he was quietly conveyed to his hometown a few days before the court order from the Sharia Court reached the hospital.

Well, I hope they won't start harassing guys
Cos it seems there's a spirit inside that iron called GUN.
grin
Ogun is the Yoruba deity of war.

All implements with which wars are fought are in the custody of Ogun.

Compare the two words - Ogun and Gun!

Yoruba, I love you!
As many times I reincarnate I want to return as Yoruba. grin
Christianity Etc › Re: Nigerian Father Disgraces Pastor For Trying To Sleep With His Daughter (Video) by MetaPhysical: 3:46am On Feb 10, 2020
The man on audio is accusing the pastor of sending his daughter explicit message and soliciting sex from her. He said the message he sent the daughter is still in the phone.

This pastor is very lucky that the father is warning him to back off. If the man had reported this case to authorities, with evidence on the phone and the daughter as witness, investigators would dig in and start to probe if there are more victims...which Im sure they would uncover. In this case we dont know if the daughter is over 18 or under age. If underage victims are discovered, that would be the end of that pastor. Depending on the scale of sexual abuse and the state this happened in, the church could loose its tax exempt status and also sued.

The father has done a great help to that pastor by choosing to face him personally and not take the issue to authorities. Pastor ought to thank him instead of arguing with him...and i think I even heard him say he can take the man's wife if he wants....thats cruel and criminal for a pastor to threaten a member like that.

He also by his behavior opened the wife to vulnerability. If the husband has evidence of pastor's infidelity with his wife, there is risk of divorce.

So in all, a pastor thats supposed to help members with problems in their matrimony is here giving threat to break a home and cause disunity in the family.

May God destroy this pastor's mission and ruin his means. Amen!

OP,
When you put a video like this it helps to add comments and clarify what this is about.

Let me ask you........this woman in video is reading a typed report. So, is she the victim or an actress hired to dramatize the event reported?

As convincing as the report is, and a very traumatizing assault on the victims, your own lack of perspective and clarity diminish the effect because you leave audience wondering who this woman in video is.

Please modify and give it a better position.

Agnostics:
They lied
Buhari is not giving them money that's why they are complaining,

PDP forum
I agree with you that they are lying, but its not because of money.

Amotekun is at the root of their meeting.

It is clear to everyone that the coalition that fought the civil war has broken down and can never be put together again. All the different alignments across different groups have suffered irreparable damage over the years, not just under Buhari...but made worse and at higher scale now that fulani herdsmen and miyeyti allah are joined in brutalizing an already battered citizenry.

When ipob came out ibo leaders did not approve them. When yyf came out Yoruba leaders did not approve them.

Amotekun is an initiative of Yoruba leadership and its ownership and acceptance is total across Yorubaland. This is meaningful, but also significant because middlebelt have admitted they need a similar outfit. SE leadership, which rejected ipob have admitted they need a similar outfit. Pretty much the writing on the wall is everyone will outfit itself with regional authority of force and counter-force, this will weaken the center. If Amotekun pays more than Nigerian Army, Yoruba soldiers will resign and join Amotekun. If Middlebelt regional security pays more than Nigerian Army, Middlebeltans will resign from Army to go serve their fatherland. If SE securoty outfit pays more than Army no Ibo will die defending Nigeria when it could do same for Iboland and earn more. Thats end of NIGERIA!

Northern Elders Forum are just seeing this writing on wall and they are meeting to quickly distance themselves from Buhari and attempt to deceive us into believing that what troubles us also trouble them and we are all brothers in a One Nigeria consciousness.

Yoruba leaders are not deceived by their shallow alarm. I trust my leaders, they will not respond but they know the lies and deceptions of North and they will pocket this NEF alarm and accusation of Buhari as an attempt at self-preservation at a critical junction of sovereingty.
