Did some test and found out that my DM500 is actually the original one. am lost for words. the MAC address for an original is suppose to start with the same digits that are available with mine. all originnalss arre suppose to start with 00:09:34:XX:XX:XX as their mac address.

the price of the original hovers around this figure anything less than €100, is fake. Plus "dream media" stopped manufacturing the DM500s a long time ago so originals are not in the market anymore

The new gemini image checks mac address of your box ,  and if it doesn't start with 00:09:34 your blue panel will be blocked.
So u have to download the below file to your /var/etc and edit that file with an unix editor so the mac address starts with 00:09:34 . Then everything works fine on every clone ,

edit the file after you added it in var/etc and change the MAC adress with 00:09:34 and the values you want.
to find your box MAC check in your router

If one gets the Dreambox500S or the HD version of it from an outlet in the States, will it work here in Africa? I’ll like to know if this stb is like or unlike Strong boxes which are fabricated with emphasis for specific regions of the globe

Dreamboxes can be used comfortably in nigeria. it was designed by Germans and being manufatured in China. Once i saw a discussion online that dream media cancelled the manufacturing license to the chinco company but they already had all the board diagrams so the continued manufacturing it.

There have been no specific STB manufactured for Africa FTA, apart from the ever common Strong, but rest assured that any STB manufactured for Europe & Middle East will definitely work for Africa.

with the dreambox the horizon is your limit, this box can work with cards married to decoders and with FTB almost all packages will be open to you.  If you have tried it on the net, have some free servers for you, reply.

NOTE: There are chinese clones be very careful, you don't flash with an original image otherwise you box will be history but cracked versions are always available.  Although Most European users claim the clones work better than the originals from germany.

Which explanation do you want? A Pay TV that was designed to fail from the beginning. Other paytv providers advertise what they want to offer the viewing public, including type of programs, satellite they will beam from, where to get them, parameters, etc and they start cheap to attract customers/subscribers, with daarsat everything was in secrecy.

i am having problem with strong decoder 4663x the black one, i bought four of the decoder for someone and we want to use the RF-out and its not working and i open the decoder cover and open the rf cover then find out there is no panel in the rf box. what can i do now?

Actually DSTV is not transferring it's the sat owner/operator that is doing the transferring, what i understand is that DSTV is moving the C-Band for the rest of Africa to W7 and it will not be available on C-Band anymore.

if this story is true, it implies that his signature was really forged.

I noticed SABC2 & SABC3 without audo on sirius 4 yesterday night, it's like f2v is including it in their broadcast as local content since they are operating from South Africa, who know may be ETv may also be included.

Currently i'm at work so don't know if it's still on air. Both channels were showing movies at the time i tuned in, good clear pictures except the no audio part, there is $ sign, check top channels 5 & 6

Silverbird TV NSS 10 C-band @ 37.5°W 3775 H 1795-3/4 (DVB-S2 - 8PSK) DVB-s Decoders can't receive the signal, you require a DVB-S2 8PSK receiver to be able to watch this channel

Note: you can't watch it with Multi-TV Decoder because it's QPSK capable not 8PSK.

Alternatively if you can recieve NE zone beam on Intelsat 903 at 34.5°W then try

Personally, what i do is continue reading from the last page read, or go back and continue from the last date i viewed the forum. Eg if i remember the last page read is page55 and it's now on page62 i go back to page55 and read to the present or if i can't remember last page where i stopped i use the last date forum was viewed may be it was 29-Dec-09, i back track to that date and continue from there.

as at now my tvm is 54%,eatv is 46%,channel10 is 44%,star tv 54%.

Fijabi, he was asking about TVM on W3A. Please understand, before answering so that you don't mislead/confuse him more. He was asking about KU-Band and you are telling of C-Band.

When you use one dish for W3A and Sirius4 you lose some TPs, only MBCs on W3A and TP 12.605 on Sirius will be stable, but with patience and painstaking adjustment you can watch most tps on both birds. For you information you won't get the feeds on W3A and Sirius4 easily with this setting, because the signals are weaker than others.

It's not part of the MyTV bouquet, they tried to join but i think it has to do with licensing et al, they even said in a news broadcast that Muvi Tv was part of it, but along the way may be they didn't agree on some issues and parted ways.

If you want to watch it, you will need someone in Zambia to get the card and be recharging for you (Zambeat can do it for you). If you have been watching the channel which i believe so from your enquiry. you must have been seeing their adverts.

It's not out yet, viewers in South Africa may have it first before others as the company is presently registered in SA.

To answer your question on 4669x doing the magic, for now it is not possible, may be in future. Reason is that Free2view is using NDS Videoguard encryption system, which strong cannot decode. the closed GTV used coship decoders with NDS embedded, so even if you have a NDS smartcard you cannot use it with your strong decoder except a firmware update is released to emulate the encryption.

with just 2-60cm dishes only on Astra2B and Sirius4

or alternatively

60cm for Astra2B and 90cm for Sirius4/W3A more than 30 English Channels of entertainment free.

Try Intelsat 4 at 72.0°E (for AIT International UK, Freq 12657, Pol H, Sr 5920, Fec 3/4) remember it's an out of footprint satellite

Press menu, go to advanced setting input password 1978, (when inserting this code you will find one code already inserted by manufactures. Do not delete that one. Punch 1 the original code will move to second place. Neglect that code until you finish 1978 you will see it will work.) then press the yellow button on the remote input the transponder frequencies you want depending on the satellite you are pointing you can input AS many as 200 different transponders.

Do not go to “scan all”, but go to “scan FTA only”. ADVANCED SETTING to SAT INSTALLATION to FTA then Add frequency. The decoder tells you how to. It can tell you press green to do this or do that. The password is 1978.

Using one dish, one LNB but setting it in between these two satellites. (Eutelsat W3A on 7E and Sirus 4 on 4.8E)

Try this for Free2view (I got it from another forum as I don’t have a coship decoder)

First, you must have the card that was supplied with the decoder. If you lost it, bad luck!

Next Highlight all the frequencies now and do a scan.

NOW YOU HAVE BOTH CHANNELS FROM SIRIUS4 and W3A, But the decode still says "E08 clear mode viewing not allowed", Not to worry"

You will find that the Free2view Channels are from Free2view 1-09.

Go to Free2view1, or Promo (Or any Free to view channel).

Make sure your card is in the decoder!

Give your decoder about 5 Minutes

yes, you are correct but the GTV coship decoders can descramble NDS encryption same as the one in use by Free2view. so they are offering the former GTV subscribers a breath of fresh air, no need to buy a new box, just pay a token to activate your stb.
