@microgiant, i don't think mbc will show arsenal/westham. I heard they have big four right i.e man u/liverpool. I will nt absolutely disproved your point provided its from reliable source.
don't bet on you intuition, to know matches they will show during live match just watchout for matches advertised with time although it's in french but the names are still the same including the time, except for the days which are in french i.e. samedi, demache.

I can comfortably tell you that those matches will air live

it just goes to show how shallow minded people are they believe anything
It's a really pathetic, how can they invade Lagos without contending with the surrounding states? it beats the imagination

That Quote is applicable to those that are above or ahead of their humble beginning. When you chose to remain a humble beginner after 49yrs, you make a mockery of that quote if applied to Nigerian case. Even as America is far much ahead of us their citizens sees nothing good abt the government and still criticise the government here and there. The difference is that their government listen to the area of public criticism and try to amend. In Nigeria every Criticism is seen as unpatriotic, becoz they want us to always sing all is well even with an empty stomach.

i finally got d 12728 H tp(rts, lcf) on w3a wit about 61percent green but mbc just didn't come up. so pls,is the 11192 v 3210 still alive 4 mbc or do i need to try and finetune d 12728 tp to hit a stronger green b4 mbc pops out? pls i need your answers. oh, how i miss my 1.8m. this 90cm w3a is frustrating. any help?
I don't know where you are located, at my own location if i get 12728h to 61% then MBC is sure, in fact i use the MBC for tracking it's the easiest and most stable for my location. Also try blind-scanning there are times when you hit green on a one tp in a decoder and another doesn't show green, blind-scanning may bring it out e.g. it may appear as 11193 in which case if you are on 11192 you may not see green

its been exactly 3months since i touched any dish since i av been away on assignment. and yestday when i had to install a 90cm dish 4 mbc(W3A) in my temporary abode,i tried &tried fruitlessly without hitting green.i had forgotten all d directions using dstv as my reference positn. i had 2 cal my friend, olatiler, who told me somethings. i then trackd again & sirius4 hit 87green but w3a(which i believe is to d left of sirius) didn't pop out.it was getting late,so i had 2 just lock d sirius positn there. i hope to continue 2day but first,i need you guys to remind me anything i'av forgotten with respect to tracking w3a from sirius positn &d lnb positn. thanks a lot
If you are behind your dish W3A is to your left, but while standing facing the dish W3A is to your right and lower the dish a little bit (still standing at the front)

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Installing A Motorised Satellite Dish System by microgiant(op): 12:49pm On Mar 15, 2010
spaceman:
I took time out during the weekend to study the hh motor I wanted to buy for my 90cm dish. I however decided to configure/operate my 63X Dx for motorised settings, though a motor was not connected to it.
Using the USAL mode, its quite sweet to motorize a dish, u could see the movement on the screen as the Dx controls the dish to the selected satellite.
I configured for Astra 2B and Sirius 4. Whenever I change channel to any of these two, i have to wait a bit for the Dx to perform motor control to the satellite, because the decoder believes a motor was connected.
The good thing i found on this motorized is that, having only one dish, you can move your dish to any location you want while sitting comfortably in your room. Again, you can limit the movement of the motor to the satellite you want.
However, I found some limitations which made me to suspend the buying of the motor.
1-The time it takes to move from W3a to Sirius 4 was too much for me to wait-especially when goodies are happening @ the other side, compared to changing channels on fixed dishes, you have to wait for the motor to move to that location. It therefore means the more you keep changing channels across satellite, the more the motor keeps moving.
I have a 90 cm and a 60cm dish. I could connect a 90cm dish just to pan between Eutelsat W4, Astra 2B, W3a and S4. Dedicate the 60cm to pass10, and my 1.8m dish dedicated to nss7ku, c,/nilesat.
Now, if I am to connect like above, I will have to dedicate all the ones for the motor to a single port on my diseqc switch, where the limit of the motor has been set to move between these satellites only. Then, the other satellites/dish could go on different port on the diseqc switch.
By this arrangement, i think my initial fear of how to connect the motor to a switch has been laid to rest.
I have not tried this, but I think it will work.
I hope to post a diagram later to illustrate what I have just said
That's one disadvantage of the motor, waiting time to change position.

to complete what you just posted, for the motor change your receiver diseqc switch setting to 1. for the fixed dishes and 1.2 for the motor. This is how you archieve it.

1. under satellite settings > choose satellite pas7/10 (60cm) > Diseqc: 1.1 Port dedicated1
2. same as above > choose satellite NSS7 (180cm) > Diseqc: 1.1 dedicated2
3. same as above > choose satellite NSS7 (180cm) > Diseqc: 1.1 dedicated3
4. same as above > choose satellite NSS7 (180cm) > Diseqc: 1.1 dedicated4
5. same as above > choose satellite Eutelsat W4 (90cm) > Diseqc: 1.2
6. same as above > choose satellite Astra 2B (90cm) > Diseqc: 1.2
7. same as above > choose satellite Eutelsat W3a (90cm) > Diseqc: 1.2
8. same as above > choose satellite Sirius4 (90cm) > Diseqc: 1.2

Remember since you are making use of more than four ports, you will use an eight port diseqc swicth which requires you to use 1.1 setting

when you are watching a movie where people go to the beach with a big bag full of clothes and they go into the water fully clothed only their shoes removed.

same movie, same scene: ladies came on land, got back in the river and one was actually walking (it seems she doesn't actually know how to swim) was drowning and two guys rushed in to rescue the person as soon as they got hold of her instantly she became lifeless and died on their getting her to dry ground.

d box is a digital H.264 dvb-t which uses video gateway technology.  d providers use mass to re-transsmit its signal.  d box has an inbuilt decoding system that lock up 2 d signal immediately u switch it on. it's half d side of our strong box. u can move it frm one room to d other without any hitch.
this box is a DVB-T box and all the programs are the ones available on W2A currently, i think they will be using W2A as downlink and with time all channels on W2A (Satellite Telecommunications Network - STN http://www.stn.eu/) will be encrypted and the DVB-T signal also, this was how the cable operators started broadcasting unencrypted signals - just buy yagi antenna and you were good to go.  Those with Strong SRT4910 should be able to receive the signal as it has a DVB-T tuner, that's the major difference with Strong SRT4900.

You are welcome.

Mesh is good for C-band and DTH (Direct To Home satellites Like DSTV, HITV, ETC). Nilesat is an out of footprint satellite this implies that it is not meant for nigeria so the signal is very weak here which means you need a bigger solid dish for it

hook up with olofofo,

What you require is
1. a minimum of 2.4 – 3.0Mtrs solid pan or fibre dish. You can’t get nilesat with mesh dish in lagos. 2.4m sells for about N24,000 at lagos.
2. HD decoder or DVB-S2/MPEG4 decoder, all current HD decoders are DVB-S2/MPEG4, but you can equally use STRONG 4669X which is not HD but
DVB-S2/MPEG4 decoder it goes for about N16,000 at Lagos. Note you need the a DVB-S2/MPEG compliant decoder to receive MultiTV
(10Channels) on Astra 2B.  Alternatively you can buy Echolink HD decoder it works fine also
3. KU-LNB
4. Cable.

To expand the capability of your dish reception, you can decide to motorise (meaning you install a motor to move your dish to point to various satellites) and make it a three in one combo, 2 C-Band and 1 Ku-band LNB.

1-4 will cost you between N40,000 to N50,000 depending on your bargaining power

Motors and Pole attracts more money

Note: you can not receive Nilesat with a mesh dish at Lagos

on this HiTV vs cable operators wahala; There is a difference between PIRACY and RIGHT INFRINGMENT.

Microsoft was fined for monopolistic business practices they didn't even go after competitors, just trying to be monopolistic by bundling almost everything into the WINDOWS Operating system like what DSTV did by bundling every free satellite tv channel into their bouquet. Including our almighty NTA, whereas in other african countries their national TVs are Free to Air in the respective countries E.g. SABC of South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, etc.

Nigeria is the only country that supports monopolistic actions against it citizens, that's one major reason people are against privatisation

What HiTV had been doing all along is the Nigerian business model; see a booming market come in edge everybody out, become a monopoly and fix prices as you want.  They started by charging N4,000 with Nigerian minimum wage at N5,000 which everybody know about 60% of civil servants earn less than N10,000 as take home pay, mind you, even this is not regular.  it wasn’t enough a thought came into their wise heads that getting the whole coverage license they can increase N6,000 and make more money.  What happened, it backfired. In my area MyTV (without live football is more popular) dish is just scattered everywhere for N2,500/month the secret in their system lies in the fact that when you don’t pay you have something to watch, even though its church programs and Press TV, whereas other providers would have added it to their bouquet leaving the viewers dark when their subscription expires. The irony is that the customers still subscribe, at least 5 out of every ten MyTV owners I know in my area subscribe monthly and 3 of the remaining 5 subscribe once in two months or twice in three months.

It is a well known fact that people even reduce the quantity of food consumed and forgo some when the going gets tough.  With the current job losses, if they like, let them block and arrest as much as they want, it will not increase their revenue.   In other countries prices are either coming down or static, whereas in Nigeria it is always the opposite.

How can they charge cable tv operators to pay N3,500/sub, while they were charging HiTV subscribers N4,000.  Wont the cable operators have other contents on their service apart from football?

Why would you wanna do that? why not take a mortgage for your marriage ceremony? Cut your coat according to your cloth jare. Then you'll get married and start paying some crazy loans. There are several financial contributors to a maariage ceremony.
1. The groom to be
2. The bride to be
3. Parents on 1 above
4. Parents of 2 above.

The financial obligations might be more demanding on one side more than the other, i.e. in our Nija settings here the bulk comes from 1 and 4 ( i stand to be corrected). So i dont see why you should borrow money to get married. Na only you wan do everything?
please update your knowledge, in most parts of 9ja only 1 above does this to prove his love for the bride and capability of taking care of his family (manliness).

@My Ogas. My astra 2b, w3a/sirius and nss7 were all connected to the decoder via a diseqc switch and everything was ok. I now added a fourth dish wish is used for dstv which am sharing with my neighbour, the split was done before the diseqc so only the dstv is shared. Now, anytime he put on his dstv decoder i lose all signals from the other 3 port on the diseqc with only the port for the dstv dish having signal and when i disconnect the dish from the diseqc, all the signals return meanwhile their is no signal loss on the dstv decoder. What could be wrong.
Why not use a dual lnb? LNB with two ports for F-Connetors, that's what I use to share my dishes with the care taker (my landlord's younger brother) and everybody is happy and are looking forward to more dishes even 3M. grin grin grin
