Same way CTL started with their multicipher decoder for 2k/month and later changed to digital single-view for at 3.5k/month. MyTV started with 2k/month and later increased to 2.5k/month, same thing with HiTV and DSTV. It's a business strategy to penetrate the market, but I'm sure it won't be much since majority of their channels is FTA. |

enitan2002: I started this thread with the new keys that is working for OSN on 7W. I got the keys from the google group which i beleive is still working at the moment. But i have a problem entering the keys into my strong 4653X after getting through to the DCW key page with 8282.
So experienced guys in this aspect should come to my aid, i also post the picture of my decoder display along, pls use that as a reference. Wrong Entering Biss/DCW code on Strong series For quick access to the Biss menu select 8280 on your remote control, You only have to enter the 1st 16 letter's & numerals if there only 16 duplicated, if there are 32 that do not duplicate the 1st 16 then you will have to enter them all, otherwise with just 16 the other 16 will automatically be entered by your Strong you will find that 2 pairs will change after you enter the keys then go back to view this is a calculation setting & should be ignored just enter the 16 keys in the Biss menu as you see them in the keys section, When you enter a code in Biss only enter the 16 characters ignore the ident 1F FF & just enter the 16 or 32 HEX Keys as you see them, If you get no sound just change channels then go back & it will clear, The 1st 16 characters are for video the 2nd 16 are for audio, Same for DCW/CCW 32 HEX keys |

Satellite TV Technology › Re: Offline Downloading by microgiant: 9:28am On Apr 01, 2010 |
bodejohn: This setup is only used for downloading as the thread title suggests.
It is possible to use it to browse but you need to subscribe with skylogic. And buy some other hardware.
I do not know the price of the pci or usb box but it should not be more than 10 - 15k @all Offline downloading also known as fishing is a system that enables you to receive files being downloaded by registered satellite internet users. As the nickname implies, see it as somebody casting a net to fish, you don’t know before hand what will come up with the net, until you haul in your net. Those who have fished or witnessed it being done will agree that when you cast a net into the river, the result is unpredictable; fish, other sea animals, twigs, remains of dead animals, etc gets caught up. The same applies to offline downloading. After installing your hardware (Computer - with PCI & USB Satellite Card, any size KU Band Dish) and software (fishing software), you are set to go. Point the satellite dish to a satellite with internet service provider, configure your software and you are ready to go. From my earlier post, you can not determine what you want to download, the software just grabs whatever is floating in the air within the coverage area of the ISP your dish is pointed to. Alternatively, there is one way internet One-way satellite You use both a dial-up and a satellite modem for this kind of connection. As it name implies, only communicates with the Internet in one direction i.e. you can download information from the Internet at high speed via satellite, but you do not send it via the satellite. The return channel for uploading data to the Internet in a one-way satellite broadband installation is often by ISDN line or dial-up modem. First, you connect to the Internet via your dial-up modem. When you click on a link to view a different Internet page, the process really begins. While normally your request would go directly to the web server, with Satellite Internet it is actually sent to your provider's Network Operations Center (NOC) and the NOC forwards the request to the web server. The web server sends back the page to NOC which transmits it to the satellite which bounces it back to be picked up by the satellite dish mounted on your house. The data is then sent through the dish into the satellite modem, which translates it for your computer. The entire process from requesting the page to receiving the page takes no more than one-half of one second. The limitation : Because one-way satellite solutions operate in only one direction (i.e. the satellite dish can receive data but not send it), you still need to maintain your dial-up modem or ISDN connection to be able to request information from the Internet. This means that if you have only one phone line, your phone-line is tied up while you are accessing the Internet. Furthermore you still need to pay for a dial-up or ISDN account with your Internet service provider. http://www.tech-guide.org/satellite_internet.htmOther providers of similar service http://www.rockbridge.net/satellite.htmhttp://www.broadsat.com/en/indexhttp://www.macrosat.com/oneway-internet.htmlhttp://www.rapid.co.uk/si_oneway.html |

If we make maximum use of the childboard by posting in the appropriate threads, I think it will be much more easier for people to locate their desired information.
imagine to find out dish size, direction, lnb skew, tracking frequency etc for nilesat, you need to read through most of season two and three to fish out the information, which is in bits. once all this info can be located in a thread i don't think it will be more than 4pages. All that is required is for periodic update infos especially latest strongest transponder at a particular location for tracking. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Offline Downloading by microgiant: 8:53am On Mar 29, 2010 |
jesus.: Apart from downloading can it browse as well. Pls answer all my request Sorry to be disappointed, apart from downloading you cannot browse, even the downloading part you don't control it. You only receive what someone else is downloading. Some of the software have filters which you can customise to allow particular type of files you are interested in. If the original person downloading stops the process, yours equally stop. Look at it this way, if you have a FM radio, especially the type that scans and there is a radio (walkie talkie) communication going on, you can actually hear the communication very clearly but you can't join the conversation, neither can you interrupt it in any way except stopping your end by switching off or changing channels |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Strong Receivers Thread by microgiant: 8:47am On Mar 29, 2010 |
Try deleting all the channels and blindscan again. From my experience atimes the tp and symbol rate changes. eg MBCs on W3A can be gotten on 11.192 or 11.193 if you are on 11.192 and its cracking or freezing atimes rescanning brings out 11.193 which may be more stable |

Ameboperoo: I input all the freq posted but none turned green. I just blind scanned and got only one French speaking channel. I use 53x too and my gtv is 98% it is a test transmission, people should try blindscaning between the hours of 5pm - 8pm most other times it's RED TAKE NOTE. I have Strong 4669x and since there is no way for me to identify the signal, if it's DVB-S2 MPEG4 or DVB-S MPEG2 , I equally scanned with my neighbours Strong SRT 4663x to confirm. |

Someone help me with the latest firmware for srt4653x not the one on the strong technology web site. That one is for conax cards only I'm not sure if you need updates to view it, but strong decoder card reader is CONAX, did you blindscan. if you did, what you should do is to delete all the channels and blindscan again. switch the decoder off - then on again after blindscan. hope this helps |
