Ask away, I might be able to help.
I know someone who applied in December and got it.

I also know of someone else who applied for it but withdrew her application before biometrics because she got her skilled worker visa COS from one of the jobs she applied to.
Dramaqueen12345:
Hi everyone. I don’t know if this has been addressed or mentioned here but i will like to get in touch with anyone who has completed their masters already and has successfully converted their student visa to graduate visa? Please reply here or send me a mail. Thank you.

Hello Everyone,

How long does it take after a successful administrative review/passport request does one get the passport back?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by mimilyrics: 11:27am On Jan 12, 2022
Wasn't possible pre-covid but according to what's on UKVI site now, it is.
Remember though that your husband doesn't need to leave the UK immediately after his course if he chooses to apply for PSW visa.

Extract from NL website: If you are a Nigerian national travelling from Nigeria via the Netherlands to the UK, you can apply for an airport transit visa (ATV) at the Belgian embassy in Abuja or the French consulate in Lagos (both Member States representing the NL for Schengen visa in Nigeria). You are required to hold an ATV while transferring through the Netherlands
BolaT53:
Good evening please is there anyone that flew with KLM to UK? If yes please how did you go about the transit Visa.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by mimilyrics:
1. Joint bills (I know that this isn't always obtainable in Nigeria), jointlyowned properties, transfers to each other's accounts (for maintenance, household expenditure, gifts etc), joint accounts, past letters to you both at the same address from your bank, doctor, government (driver's licence, voter's card), work etc.
If you have kids, a letter from their school to both of you at your joint address.
2. Provide evidence of your employment (employment letter, payslips etc) or business (tax certificates, business contracts etc) and/or education (any other courses or trainings you've done). All this is just to show that you're a genuine student who isn't just trying to use the student visa to escape Nigeria.
Akamanen:
Hello everyone

1. My spouse got a NSF mail to provide further evidence of our relationship. We already submitted marriage certificate and family pictures during the application.

They said "the fact you have demonstrated your marriage took place does not act as independent corroboration you are in an ongoing, subsisting relationship"
We have a joint account but we haven't used it in a long time.

So please what other documents can we send?

2. I also got a NSF mail to provide evidence of study/employment since 2017. I finished NYSC in 2019 and I didn't do any work related to my course in 2020 and 2021. I have a registered business with a bank account btw

Please what documents can I send ?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by mimilyrics: 10:21am On Jan 12, 2022
Yes, you can since it's still within 31 days of your application but if for any reason, you have to go for AR or the ECO requests for the statement to include dates after your submission (to clear any doubts), it might cost you your visa.
Mayor46:
What do you mean by “if I have the money” ?
I have removed it from December 31st.
So I have a printed statement from Dec 1 - Dec 30 that was printed on Dec 31st before the money was removed.
So can I use this statement while I put the money back into the account ?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by mimilyrics:
Right! That's why students new to the UK should be strategic with the kind of jobs they sign up with and start planning for a job as soon as they arrive. This helps to understand the UK work environment and how to effectively sell themselves.
Some people will get the job on the 1st try but don't get disheartened if you don't get the 1st job that you interview for, treat it as preparation for the job interview that will get you the job.
Bottomline, learn to sell yourself well.
ThaSlimKidd:
Well said. I think a lot more people should come out and put out short time experiences like this. So that everyone involved in this "study/Japa visa" route understands what they are getting into. It's one thing to go through all these financial stress to get the visa to "study" , then another to actually get a job within the 2years PSW that is willing to sponsor you beyond the PSW. (Ps: you are required to apply for the PSW for yourself and each of your dependents.. Application is roughly £2k per person).
If that's not enough headache , you'd have to compete in a steadily saturated worksphere to secure jobs(that offer sponsorship) during the PSW. PSW can't be extended past the 2yrs(MSc) or 3yrs(PhD).
It's a lot of uncertainty and a bit worrying/scary personally but like we always say .."It is well". May God come through for each of us as we all thrive for better in the UK and beyond.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by mimilyrics:
Lemsip and Beechams are actually better alternatives to treating cold/flu than using malaria meds. This is to prevent your body from developing resistance to them.
descarado:
But it has been working for me. So why will I not continue.
3 weeks of recurring flu is not joke. It handles the throat so very well. Yes, in Nigeria we abuse drugs but it wasn't planned when I did that cos I thought it was malaria after being sick for long.
Malaria test was negative but then I have taken the medication. When you are so sick and couldn't eat for days( lost kgs within few days due to high fever) you will be desperate to try anything and yes, it worked. I hardly fall sick and that's the only time I take medication and lo, it won't kill me.
And yep, I'm not a novics in the health industry.

If I have malaria tab, I will so gladly take it without looking back. Won't make that mistake again next year.

Maybe you are OK with high fever, I'm not. Gulping ibuprofen and co everyday yet no remedy.
Just hold it there Mr ITK Nigerian. Six feet don't know that. Not ready to die yet.

Not really apart from your basics - utilities, furnishing, damages etc.
Depends on you and the kind of accommodation. As long as you go through the agreement in detail and are comfortable with the Ts and Cs, you're good.

Hello everyone,

Please are there particular things to look out for while reviewing a tenancy agreement as well as things the landlord is required to do by law?

Thank you.

Once your NI number arrives, you can apply to join NHS banks for temp 0-hour contracts but you need to be double-jabbed for this as this becomes compulsory for NHS staff from April 1, 2022.
Mashaunola:
Please help!!!!
I am a Masters student.
I have collected my BRP and applied for my NI number.
I have been in the UK for over 2 weeks now. I have been looking for Part time job (warehouse operative, sales assistant e.t.c) to kick start and office work based on my qualifications but haven’t gotten any yet. I have registered with quite a number of agencies.

You can try welling (Zone 4), Erith (Zone 6), Sidcup(Zone 5), Crayford(Zone 6) though the places that fit your budget might not be so many. They are all in outer London. She can get a travel card for the commute to Central London(Zone 1).
yolkman20:
Good day and compliments of the season to everyone here.
Wifey, myself and our 1year old daughter will be going to the UK by month end latest by his grace. She'll be schooling in central London and I'm having difficulty in making decisions on where to stay. I heard London is really expensive and it's advisable to commute from nearby towns.

After many considerations and research, Luton fit within my budget for 2bedroom flat, budget is 850£ at max. Now there's so many negative reviews about Luton and I'm not sure I want to go there. Please, I need advise on commuter's town where I can get 2bedrom flat for 850£ and below...thanks.

Meanwhile, we fit manage 1bedroom flat for now and that will also save us some costs.

You can use your sibling's address
If it makes for easy commute to your school and as long as you're sure that he/she has a legal status in the UK so that it doesn't cause issues.

If not applicable, use your school address, please.
rebless:
Good morning house

Urgent one please please please

If one is having a sibling in the UK, is proper to use his address as residential address for masters degree visa application or better to use the school address if one is yet to get accommodation?

NB: the school does not have accommodation for students.

Seems like you selected child student visa (for children coming to school in the UK) based on what you have on your screenshot. Should have read like the attached screenshot.
ElianaNoah85:
Thank you for your feedback.
I am very sure on the type of visa i applied for. Which is "PBS Tier 4 child dependent visa"
The questions are clealy different for main applicants and dependant

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by mimilyrics: 10:45am On Jan 06, 2022
It's okay as the statement is within 31 days of your application. The biometrics isn't your date of application, your online submission date is.
RetiredAdult:
Please advise. The Financial Statement I uploaded during my visa application was printed on 16th December (the same one i sent to my school for CAS). I applied for visa on 21st December. My biometrics appointment is tomorrow, 7th January. Should I print another bank statement to be uploaded, seeing as the one I uploaded when applying will be 31days sometime next week (16th January)?

If there’s a possibility that they may ask me to upload it later, I just want to do that now, so as to save time. So, would anyone advise I upload another one at the TLS tomorrow or just leave it?
