Why don't you ask your school? They are best-positioned to answer you. For some of the schools that I'm conversant with, you can combine multiple discounts but not scholarships (for scholarships, the highest one is applied to your fees). Lincoln might be different. Kimberx: |
It shouldn't, as long as you submit your wedding certificate to link both names. I'd suggest that you keep the names on your passport and financial documents the same (where possible) to avoid having to explain or ECO errors. Name change in the banks don't take more than 24 hours once you submit all the required documents. Darsty99: |
No, as long as your money doesn't go below what you are required to show. ukapplicant: |
Personal/credibility statements are for you to sell yourself so go for it. Tell a story of your motivations, your unique experiences and why you applied for the course. ensamy: |
Yes, it's possible. You should craft a very persuasive personal statement through which you can communicate your motivations and you should be able to show evidence of what touch been up to these past years. TobyTreasure: |
According to UKVi, yes. "If your partner and children joined you in the UK as ‘dependents’ on your current Student visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa, they can apply to stay as dependants as on your Graduate visa. If your partner and children joined you in the UK as ‘dependents’ on your current Student visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa, they can apply to stay as dependants as on your Graduate visa." You just might have need to prove that the relationship is genuine if you come very close to the graduate visa application date as this might raise eyebrows. But as I stated earlier, it's not cast in stone as some ECOs are quite rigid while some ECOs will let some situations slide. It's just always better not to give room for questions. Winner0718: |

As long as her permission is not 6 months or less, she'll get her BRP card and also pay IHS but if 6 months or less, no BRP or IHS payment (No "free" NHS health care). Towotowo: |
Pardon the confusion. Must here is relative - it was used to convey the importance of the situation. I should have typed "should ideally" since this is advisory. The dependant won't have access to "free" (subsidised) NHS services since IHS is not paid for visas that are 6 months or less. What if something happens and your dependant needs healthcare? The bill might be crippling and end up being more than the yearly IHS. Also, coming too close to when the main applicant puts in an application for the graduate visa might raise flags as to the timing. You need to have lived together for some time before the application - this shows genuineness and doesn't come across as arranged. Coming few weeks to the visa end date might raise some doubts around being genuinely married except there are genuine reasons for this. If you plan to arrive less than 6 months to the end of the main applicant's visa and for some reason, UKVI delays your application or other circumstances beyond your control happen, it means that you might not arrive before your partner has to put in an application for the graduate visa which may see you living without your partner for the better part of 2 years, in the absence of a work visa. If you're not in the UK as a dependant prior to the application, you won't be able to apply as a dependant. Some HRs also don't have a strong grip of immigration rules and it might be difficult to get a job (if you want one as a dependant) because 1. You don't have a BRP (even with BRP, some of them still errorneously delay employment checks because it's not a situation that they are used to and 2. The short duration on the visa might deter some employers (the ones who will employ you will do so irrespective of the hurdles). So to avoid stress and plenty "explanations" or last minute issues, better to join earlier. Please note that each application is different and is subject to the ECO's discretion. OgbeniOptional: |
Glad to be of help. Final additions below for those who ask. Note: You can use Microfinance banks as long as they are registered with and licenced by CBN. You should also find out if any one has used the statements from that bank before because it also proves that the bank can satisfactorily verify financial statements through UKVI established channels. The bank being able to verify the statement to UKVI as required and when due is key. CAS - Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies. You need this from your school to apply. ECO - Entry Clearance Officer. The visa official that assesses your application. NSF mail - Non-Straightforward mail. You get this mail if they need more documents from you or if they won't be able to decide your application within the set timeframes. POE - Point Of Entry. The airport that you come in through. POF - Proof Of Funds. Evidence of how you intend to fund your studies. BRP - Biometric Residence Permit: Your BRP is the documentary evidence of your UK immigration permission. The BRP looks like a driver’s licence but with details of your immigration permission in the UK. When you get your visa in Nigeria, it will be on your passport with a 90-day validity. Once you get into the UK, you pick your BRP which replaces the visa in your passport and is valid throughout your stay in the UK (eg.16 months for 1 year courses). justwise: |

It must also confirm that the funds will be available to you, or paid directly to the sponsor, before you begin your course. 8. Consent letter: You'll also need a letter from your parent(s) or guardian that states that they consent to you using the funds in the account for which evidence has been submitted. This is only applicable if using their bank statements. See sample here: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.westminster.ac.uk/sites/default/public-files/general-documents/Example%2520of%2520parent%2520consent%2520letter.doc&ved=2ahUKEwjVuYnvs9rtAhX7UxUIHR04C3cQFjALegQIBxAB&usg=AOvVaw23ibrOLrlQod4FOobTdsJp 9. Consent letter: Under 18s will also need a consent letter from both parents or their guardian consenting to their visa application, their living arrangements in the UK and their travel to the UK. See example here (edit as required): http://documents.manchester.ac.uk/display.aspx?DocID=29499 https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/ssid/immigration/tier-4-application/supporting-documents#consent Graduate visa (after your studies) https://www.gov.uk/graduate-visa Cost: Visa - £700 + IHS (£624 per year * 2 for Masters programmes and £624 per year * 3 for PhDs) = £1,948 (Masters) and £2,572 (PhDs). Note: For single parents who want to travel with their under-18 child(ren) but not with the child(ren)'s other parent, you will need a death certificate, sole custody order or any other legal document that shows that the child(ren)'s other parent isn't in the picture anymore. Also, having detailed childcare plans while you study helps – contact nurseries/schools around your area to give you an idea of how to weave this into your application. Then you should also present her £ account showing that she's still got her maintainance for the remaining 5 of the 9 months that is required since she should have spent 4 months in the UK by now. Also, school fees receipts showing that some of the money was used in paying her fee. You have a good AR case because your application should have been judged without your wife's funds since you applied separately but you must also prove that there's nothing shady going on as suspected by the ECO in this situation. For AR, you can add new documents showing that information submitted at the time of your application was correct ie. Your wife's £ account and receipts (school and rent) in this case. ELIZABET: |
No, you don't. I'd advise just ignoring. If they want to explore why you're still unmarried, they'll ask you but it's inconsequential to your application since your status never changed. Please in future, don't declare any information that has not been birthed (I.e. you about to get married etc.) except it is necessary. freshestAy: |
No, except it's one of the documents used in evaluating your applicationand making you an offer - if it's not on your CAS, you don't need it. Hairybelly01: |

1. If the visa comes out after your school's enrolment/arrival date and you've not enrolled or arrived by then, you most likely won't be allowed on the course. Speak to your school, they're your best bet for answers and dates. 2. If the above happens, you will be turned back at the POE if you try to use your visa except you've have your school's approval (in writing) to arrive after the set date. You just keep it, can't be returned once given. 3. If you defer, you'll need a new CAS to make a new application for the session you defer to. You'll also need to register your biometrics again. You can try amazon. Once got some from them before I got what I needed in an African store. Better still, the corn flour method might come in handy. Get the regular corn flour from Morrisons et Al and prepare as you would the normal pap. You'll need to add some liquid milk and lemon to give it somewhat similar taste to ogi. Mamatukwas: |
In cases like that, the resumption date is the latest that you can arrive. Always best to find out from the school to clear misconceptions. LuchiBianca: |
As far as I know, all schools should have this. Asking the school is always the best way to clear up any misconceptions that you might have. judithnze: |
