You need to include your children as your dependants on your application and husband's because they are you and your husband's dependants.
sweetoma:
Please o, I don wait taya can anyone tell me, I am the main applicant and I have my husband and child as dépendants on my application. Do I need to include my child as a dépendant on my husbands application since my husband is also already a dépendant ?

Your child has to be 5 by August 31 in the year that they'll start school; that means that your 3 year old won't be able to start till the Sept following the April that he/she turns 5.
For your 6 year old, you need to check the schools that you want him/her to go to for their application details as most schools close their applications in January and make offers in April.
You can check the links below for more info:

Thanks Bro. I have seen here something concerning the energy rating as A to D was considered good, so that was what I was a bit vague about. Also the 2 older kids will be 3 and 6 by April, will they both have to wait till September to get into school or is there any kind of unofficial school program for such kids that just came into the country. I have heard a lot of good things about catholic schools as well and will check them out based on your recommendations.

Better to wait till her own funds mature to avoid confusion/error. If excluding your funds in her account, she meets the 28-day rule, she can walk-in with you on the 4th but you need to use your own account which also meets the 28-day rule for your own funds.
GMs:
Thank you. But my question is, is it better to wait until the 10th January for her appointment, by then the POF in her account would have matured and we can submit her own account alone or she does a walk in with me on the 4th of January that way the POF in her own account won’t cover for both of us but I can submit my account as I have another money alternatively for POF in my account as well
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by mimilyrics: 2:28pm On Jan 02, 2022
You can use either account for yourself since the money in her/your account is enough to cover what you need and meets the 28-day rule.
GMs:
Good afternoon everyone. I have a question, my wife and I are applying together. And we have our proof of funds in both account. But the Thing is, on the 8th of December, someone advised I transfer my own proof of funds to her account which I did, before then and until now she has always had hers own money in her account which is past 28th days already and can be printed anytime. Although I still have money in my own account which can cover for my proof of funds and it’s past 28th days as well. The money I transferred to her which will be sufficient for us to use her own account to apply matures 6th of January. Here’s where I need to make a decision, I got date for biometric 4th of January and she got hers 10th of January. If I wait until 10th of January to do a walk in with her. We would be able to submit her own account only and not have to need mine but if she does a walk in with me THen we’ would have to submit both account, please guys advise me on what to do. Her school resumes 17th January but the latest resumption date is 11th February

TB test is paid in naira while IHS and visa fees are paid in $.
Those that paid recently will be able to advise if it's changed from N57,800.
sweetoma:
Please guys how much is TB test in naira I’m getting conflicting rates. I thought it was N57,800 ? I’m seeing 150USD on the UK gov website. Same with the visa and IHS fees. I’m seeing it in pounds on the site and when I go by the dollar rate or naira equivalent it’s different so I’m quite confused. For example when I calculate in pounds IHS and visa fee for family of 3 is about 3.4m while in dollars it is 3.1m is this accurate ? Also TB test for family of 3 including a child is about N204k is this also accurate ?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by mimilyrics: 12:38pm On Jan 02, 2022
AR is actually easy if you can show that they made a mistake. There have been situations where it took 2 ARs to overturn a refusal. The only downside is that getting your passport after submitting your passport following an overturned refusal can sometimes take weeks.
olutop:
Good then, they just need to make AR easier for those outside the UK
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by mimilyrics: 12:32pm On Jan 02, 2022
Trust me, they do make mistakes. I've seen so many.
Sometimes it could be not verifying information from an organisation and just erroneously concluding that an applicant doesn't meet requirements whereas the information showing that the applicant does meet the requirements is on the application and AR resolves this.
That's why I usually tell people to ensure that they dot all the Is and cross the Ts to make it easier to overturn refusals at AR when errors have been made.
olutop:
Those ECO's rearly make mistakes when it comes to Student Visa, just that sometimes they dont explain the reason for the refusal clearly because they got some informations from Banks(Like checking your account balance instead of just confirming the bank statement) which is against Bank Privacy policy and the reason why if someone fights some refusal due to Financial reasons that's not clear they tend to overturn the decision or else they will face serious legal battle and even implicate the Banks.

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by mimilyrics: 12:10pm On Jan 02, 2022
That might have been an ECO error as in the case of a lady whose daughter got denied and son got the visa while based on the ECO explanatioand student visa rules, they both would have been denied.
ECOs sometimes make errors which sometimes favor or don't favor applicants which is why there is AR for those who meet all the requirements but still get refused.
Km007:
Well, for me I paid for my ihs and submitted my application before my POF matured and still got my Visa. Just paid for assisted service. But I guess every case is different.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by mimilyrics: 12:07pm On Jan 02, 2022
Sigh! Whatever rocks your boat.
olutop:
Most times we misinterpreted UKVI rules, For people applying inside the UK, their application starts the day they submit there Visa form, but for those outside UK it starts from the day you did Biometrics irrespective of when you submit visa application.
An example of this is someone who submits online form and make Ihs and visa payments on Dec 6, the POF matured on Dec 4, if you do your Biometrics on January 10 due to 1 thing or the other, your Visa will Automatically be refused due to not meeting financial requirements because Dec 4 is outside January 10 that you did Biometrics and this is the major reasons people's application are being denied....

So to be safe please your POF should be in relation to your Biometrics, so get Biometrics appointment first before printing POF irrespective of when you submit application online
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by mimilyrics: 12:02pm On Jan 02, 2022
It's okay. You can even submit the next day after your funds hit 28 days.
Mikool101:
Hi.
Please my 28 days matured even before Dec 1, 2021
But I was having issues paying my visa/ihs fee till it was successful in Dec 8. But I have already started filling my visa application before my visa/ihs became successful. So I printed my POF in Dec 9 which covers the duration from Nov 9 - Dec 8 (30 days) because I wanted the visa/ihs fee to reflect in my bank statement. I uploaded my docs including POF in Dec 10. I hope I am safe o.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by mimilyrics: 11:28am On Jan 02, 2022
If I was applying for a student visa, I'd definitely do it as UKVI says. I'm only advising so you don't end up wishing that you had done it in the manner that UKVI stipulates because I hate to see people denied for mistakes that can be avoided.
kennykale:
Enough said. Do as you wish

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by mimilyrics:
I'd suggest that you read the visa guidance again, please.
The date of online submission is the date of your application and that is the date the ECO will use in assessing your application and your funds. That is why the exchange rate used is for the day that you submit your application online.
The date of your biometrics isn't the date of your application.
If you've not had your biometrics, please withdraw your application and submit after your POF is 28 days old to avoid wasting your funds.
kennykale:
Read and understand.

Because you submitted your application doesn’t mean you have submitted your documents. It only mean you have applied and booked a date for your biometrics. Your documents can be uploaded anytime you are ready or submitted for upload during your biometrics.

Enough said

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by mimilyrics: 10:48am On Jan 02, 2022
At your own risk but please don't mislead other applicants.
The visa guidance is there for a reason. Wanting to get earlier dates isn't a reason to flout the rules and is not an excuse with UKVI.
If the money isn't in your account for at least 28-days before you submit your visa application online, the ECO is right to refuse the application according to the Student visa rules.
kennykale:
This is not true

You can pay you ihs and visa fees and submit your application before your POF is matured. You only need to book a date after your pof maturity when on TLS website.

I submitted my application since Dec 3 while pof mature on dec 16.

If you wait till pof matures, you will just be there struggling to get dates. Make your payments and submit your application for them book a date after your maturity date on TLS site

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by mimilyrics:
No. You must wait till your POF is mature before submitting your application online and paying your visa/IHS fees.
You can start your online application before then but don't submit be fore POF maturity.
sweetoma:
Gurus please is it possible to fill in the online visa application and pay for IHS and visa fee and then book biometrics date before POF is ready ? If someone wants to do Biometrics on 6th of Jan for example because POF will be ready on the 5th is it advisable for them to start the online application today so as to get biometrics date then pay for walk in. Or do you advise they wait until the 5th to do the online app, get appointment date and then pay for walk in and submit on the 6th?

I used KLM on my trip to Nigeria in November and one of the requirements per the checklist that they sent was that for anyone transiting had to get a transit visa. When we contacted them because it was silent on British passport holders, they said that it was not applicable to British passport holders and the likes but applicable to Nigerian passport holders and the likes.

Extract from NL website: If you are a Nigerian national travelling from Nigeria via the Netherlands to the UK, you can apply for an airport transit visa (ATV) at the Belgian embassy in Abuja or the French consulate in Lagos (both Member States representing the NL for Schengen visa in Nigeria). You are required to hold an ATV while transferring through the Netherlands
tshoboy:
Has anyone traveled with Air France or KLM to the UK recently?
Did you need an ATV and what was the process of getting one?
There are contradicting information and wanted first hand info from someone that has used either airlines recently.

Hello everyone, happy new year in advance.
Does anyone know roughly how long it takes to get pre-departure covid test result? Test was taken in Abeokuta this morning at 10am and my mother-in-law is due to fly 9:30am on 1/1/22.
She’s double vaccinated but I’m worried she might not be allowed to fly without the pcr test result. Any idea what to do in this case please?

The earliest is actually 6 months if outside the UK and the latest is subject to your resumption or Latest Date of Arrival for your course. You should ideally apply as early as possible though.
Abiscoco:
You can apply 3 months before your course start date. However, the ECO can only grant you entry one month before your course start date.

1. I think some people posted about this a few pages back. You can check or wait for someone who's done it this week to reply you.
2. Same as 1.
3. You can use the AirBnB website/app or booking.com
4. Depends on your card limits and exchange rate.
5. Get to the airport early grin
6. I don't know.
7. Use this link as a guide on prohibited food item: https://www.gov.uk/bringing-food-into-great-britain
You can bring stuff to tide you over the 1st few weeks but don't overdo it as most things are usually easily gotten around. You can bring your core African food staples to prevent you from the initial £/N conversion bug ie. Yam/plantain flour, poundo yam, semo and the likes. Don’t bother with anything that can spill in your luggage.
