My employer checks yearly - It is required when changing roles within too.
My employer made DBS update service compulsory for staff - there's a caveat that the employee bears the cost of a new DBS check. The cost of initial subscription is borne by my employer.
DBS checks usually take an average of 5 days from when you submit to your organisation to when it is countersigned and sent to DBS, sometimes longer depending on the situation.
Over the past year, I switched roles 3 times and the process was faster because I only gave them my cert number and showed a copy of the certificate. Took less than 24 hours for that to be completed.
mizGene:
Do employers check it yearly? Isn't it only required if you are moving roles or jobs?
Infact, what I really want to know is this : don't most employers pay for this as part of their recruitment process?

Hello all, I have been admitted to study BSc Electronical and electronic Engineering. Attached is a screenshot of the admission letter and to track and check the condition of my offer through UCAS. I am unable to login because I did not apply to the school through UCAS. I have emailed the school but asked to contact UCAS. Do you think they will send me the details to pay the £1,000 tuition deposit on their own when it time?

Once your school is not extending your date to a time that'll accommodate your visa delay, you'd have to defer and start the visa process all over again for the next session.
Don't bother travelling as you'll be turned back at the POE.
gabrielahamz:
I have a unique case and I need all the advice I can get. I did my biometrics on the 22nd/23rd of December, got a mail 2weeks later requesting for extra documents which was sent on the same date. A week later a paid mail was sent which was ignored, a subsequent one was sent which was replied asking for name, country etc. 2 more paid mails have been sent which have been ignored.
Registration for my school ends today 4th February. I've written to the school (University of Westminster) seeking an extension and they replied yesterday saying it's impossible and my options are deferment of the admission or to seek a refund.
My questions are;
If the visa eventually comes out after today do I still travel? Considering today is the last day for registration, Anybody ever been in this situation before? How did you do it? What are my options?
Pls I need all the advice I can get. @mimilyrics @justwise

I want to confirm, can I add my baby as a dependent and then move him over to the UK after 1yr in a two year msc course? If yes, during visa application do I need extra pof for him even tho he's joining me later?

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 7 by mimilyrics: 10:13pm On Feb 03, 2022
You need to submit a court doc granting you parental responsibility over the child; you can also legally adopt him. This along with evidence that you've been responsible for him will suffice. That will save you from making complicated explanations to UKVI.
If you don't have the above, you'll still need permission from your spouse and the child's other parent.

Okay. I can see some jobs for swansea but no bank positions. You can try applying for them while searching for other jobs. I must warn you though - NHS is sometimes a tad difficult especially if they've got other candidates with NHS experience but it's doable.
You can try taking a walk round your area. Sometimes, job vacancies are posted in places where they're in your face. You might even meet the managers to speak with them - this works faster sometimes.
Also, use LinkedIn to your advantage. I know a few people who got jobs with their Naija experience via LinkedIn.
Use YouTube to help you understand the terminologies and what's required. Speak to people in the industry, they might be able to tell you something you don't already know.

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 7 by mimilyrics:
It depends on what you want but a 1-way ticket is perfectly okay.
Some people buy return tickets because of PTA or because they plan to visit Nigeria at some point during the 1st year of their UK stay.
Edwosa:
It you say so, for applicants going to the UK on a study visa (tier4) like most of us here, is it a one-way ticket that will be bought?
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by mimilyrics: 10:09pm On Feb 02, 2022
Where are you located?
Once you get your NI, you can check for jobs using appropriate filters on Healthjobsuk.com
You can search for Bank positions while you prep for something permanent, within or outside of the NHS.

No. A 1-way ticket is okay as long as it is not a visit visa.

No, you can't submit your application and pick an appointment date before your POF matures. You can start your application online but submit only after your funds spend 28 days in your account.
StanleyOlishe:
House, Good morning I want to ask if this is possible, I have my CAS already for March intake but I can’t apply for my visa yet because my POF would mature 14th of next February, Can I start my visa application and book my appointment to be 15th of February and also use assisted services so that I would be uploading all my documents at the visa application center, I want to be able to have enough time for my dependent visa to come out since I the main applicant would be using priority services.

Thanks

The proposed UK Study has no bearing on a visit visa and doesn't serve as home ties, I'd advice sticking only to details regarding the visit visa.
I'd advice waiting and not applying for a visit visa now.
Let your brother wait till his wife applies and gets her study visa after which, he should apply as her dependant.
shegsteperz:
Hi House,

Trust you all are good.

I am a British Citizen and wish to invite my brother and his family on visit to the UK next month.

He recently just completed 10 years Ban . He is legally married with 1 child. Self employed with few businesses but some are not active on Company house website. Though he has all CAC registration document and are all Legit and Verifiable. He has invoices to show his business activities as well . Though he will try to ensure the status is Active at the time of application.

His wife currently has £5000 GBP deposit with a UK University for Masters for Jan , 2022 intake but they have deferred to September, 2022 intake.

Current Balance in Wife name is £20,000 Pounds held in Pounds account in Nigeria as part of her financial requirement for Student Visa application.

He hardly use his personal account and has only just started using it 2 months ago so plan is to wait 2 months more before he can apply.

So he can have some inflow from his business account to his personal account. He also expect rent income into his personal account soon which will be confirmed in writing by his Lawyer as funds will be coming directly from Lawyer account. So his personal account balance will move from 100k to nearly 600k .. ( Increase is based on 200k transfer from his business account and 500k from his Lawyer as part of rent payment for 1 flat received which lawyer will write to justify)

I will be covering sponsor for accommodation as they will stay with me and also the cost of the flight because i have unused flight credit from a previous flight cancellation during the Pandemic so basically the cost of travel to them is ZERO.

I'd like to know if this is realistic ? Is it worth noting in the application that the wife has £5000 deposited in a UK school already and she will surely be back to Nigeria to apply for student visa and also husband back to Nigeria because of his business activities ? or best to leave that out of the application ?

Pounds has been saved ffor over 6 month so thats fine. My only concern is his personal account moving from 100k to nearly 600k when he is applying within 3 months..

Would this be seen as money lodgement considering the balance is a small amount compared to the Pounds balance held in wife name ?? and they are legally married ?

Keen to know your thoughts.

I don't know if they still allow it since Covid-19 started but if you go to the BHC and tell them that Sheffield referred you to them, it might help. Do a paid mail about this though this might not help as AR is done outside of the usual processes. Show evidence of this paid mail when you go if required.
