I agree. My LO once said I was her teacher and that the goal was to grow up to be like me and that struck a chord in me. When I'm angry, I just keep quiet so that I don't bring a bomb to a gun fight. Most children become who/what they are by what obtains in the home. Most children also want to be heard and when it seems like their voice is being shut out, they either act out or withdraw to themselves. Divine88: Been reading all the post and counter post about spanking a child or not spanking. As I said earlier, make your child your disciple. Discipline is teaching. Stress and frustration from all the wahala in the world is what makes parent merciless flog their kids in the name of punishment. I for example develop a speech impediment (stammer) which is still affecting till today cos I was terrified anytime my dad flog or about to flog me. I’ve forgiven him though as I know it is not his fault. I don’t want my kid to ever go through the same. |

Piggyvest say that they acquired a MFB (Gold MFB) licence in 2018; if this is true and they operate Piggyvest under that brand, then yes, they are legally licenced by CBN. Gold MFB is listed on CBN site as a licenced operating MFB. You might have to submit a screenshot of this to avoid getting refused in error if they are truly licenced and piggyvest is a product offering of Gold MFB. Pls confirm from them or anyone who's used them because I don't know much about them aside from what's on their website. In my opinion, you'll be better off using a regular bank account to avoid stories that touch. RealBae: Good evening gurus here.
Please can one use Piggyvest statement as proof of funds? Also, has anyone here used Piggyvest statement for student visa application.
According to go.uk https://www.gov.uk/guidance/financial-evidence-for-student-and-child-student-route-applicants#what-evidence-is-not-accepted For financial evidence for student and child student route applicant
The following are not accepted as evidence to show you have the required amount of money: overdrafts bitcoin savings stocks and shares pensions bank accounts that are not regulated by the financial regulatory body in the country you’re applying from bank accounts that don’t use electronic record keeping
Piggyvest is regulated by central bank of Nigeria and has a microfinance bank. @mimilyric and other gurus please i need your insight on this. Thanks |

“i am the parent/guardian aged under 18 filling on his behalf” The answer should be No if it came up because you signed for your child. If it comes up anywhere else, it should be yes but with your name as the owner of the funds to be used. Gracedom: Good day ppl, I’m filling the visa form, pls what’s the best response to give here for a child not up to 2yrs and can’t fill for herself? (Under declaration stage) (Attached)
Is it “I am the applicant aged under 18”? Meaning she is the one filling the form herself.
Or “i am the parent/guardian aged under 18 filling on his behalf” (incase I’m to choose this option, when asked if I’ll be using someone else fund, the answer should be No right? Since I’m now applying as the parent and not as the child applying herself) |

I used "should have" because the last I checked it should have kicked off for Nigeria and countries outside the safe travel corridor on Friday and I wasn't sure if it actually kicked off from then. dulahi770: No bro. It's not true. They are only suspending the travel corridors. The travel corridors exempted inbound travellers from certain countries from the requirement to quarantine for 10 days but now people travelling from those countries need to show a negative Covid-19 test result if arriving the UK from 4am on Monday, in addition to isolating for 10 days. Nigeria isn't on the corridor list so negative Covid-19 test result for travellers from Nigeria should have come into effect from 4am 2 days ago. Edit: it didn't kick off for Nigeria and countries outside the safe travel corridor on Friday as scheduled, it's now Monday, January 18 for all countries. kcmontez: I just heard from the grapevine that UK is closing borders on Monday. How true is this? |

Also, how does walk in work? Is it regardless of whatever date i get as biometric date, i can just walk in? Do i pay for walkin? If yes, how much? What time do i get do i get to the centre? Thank you in anticipation |

You probably didn't pay attention to it since you probably had no visa issues. I think it must have changed circa 2019/2020, can't remember exactly when now. mattfeuter: Fair enough.
I was surprised because I saw nothing of such when I was filling my application last year plus i read it in one of the ukvi guidance about declaring refusals and criminal convictions. |

I actually found one of the applications made in November 2020 and I've attached the part of the form that talks about it with the person's personal details blurred. Note that for visas granted and travels made, it's for the last 10 years but but refusals or any immigration issues, there's no time limit. mattfeuter: I actually did that and here’s what I got.
Hence why I asked if there’s a link.

The time limit has been removed. Every refusal now has to be declared, whether it happened within the past 10 years or before. mattfeuter: Normally, you’re only required to state any refusals/immigration issue/s you’ve had in the last 10 years. |

You have to call them, there's no online application link. Before Covid-19, you had to call to book an appointment which will be held at a Job centre but because of Covid-19, you now have to call to get a form mailed to you to fill and mailed back. Most PayG have unlimited call limits to UK numbers so you wouldn't be paying more than you've paid your service provider. Check your phone plan or with your provider if you're unsure of what your plan covers. Shalom4life: Please someone should please help or send the UK link to get National insurance number. Use your company address. It's understandable that you wouldn't have made long term arrangements yet but after getting your visa, you'll need an address for your passenger locator form. This address should be where you'd spend your self-isolation period. Hotel or AirBnB accommodation can be booked for this. While you lived in the UK, you were not a visitor. Your visit information will be the day you left the UK for Nigeria and the date you re-entered the UK while you lived in the UK. You can input the details and state that you do not remember the exact dates. It wouldn't have a negative impact on your application since you had a valid stay in the UK, paid IHS and were entitled to receiving treatment in the UK at the time. The purpose of this question is to determine if you owe the NHS monies yet unpaid but you were eligible for hospital visits/treatments without extra costs so you've got no worries. dagdag: @justwise and other knowledgeable elders in the house
I would appreciate if you could assist me with useful info regards my case
So I was in the UK for about 6 years (about 5 years for studies and about one year for work on Tier 2 visa). I have been back in Nigeria for 2 years now but I have gotten a job offer in the UK and hope to go back.
I am now at the tb test and visa application stage. However, I read that I am to come along with my UK address when I come for the test. I also saw in the visa application form that I need to provide my UK address too. The problem is, I don’t yet have a UK address as I intend to first stay in a hotel when I get there then look for a rented apartment afterwards. So what should I put in the UK address section for the visa application and what address should I use to attend my tb test appointment?
Also, while I was in the UK previously, I used to visit Nigeria like once a year or so and also visited other countries. The issue now is, I need to provide information on how many times I have visited the UK (with dates). Should this be the length of my previous UK visa or each time I re-enter the UK after visiting Nigeria or another country?
Lastly, a section of the visa application asked whether or not I have received medical treatment in the UK and when (with dates). This in my view is a difficult question. What is meant by medical treatment? Is it any type of visit at all to a GP (UK clinic) or maybe undergoing operation or surgery? Because I remember that sometimes I will visit the GP for very minor health issues and a medication would be prescribed fir me to buy or nothing prescribed at all (just general medical advise). Now, do I include all these encounters with dates (which I can’t remember) or what do they mean exactly?
Your helpful inputs would be appreciated. Cheers |

I also agree with the recommended choice of the Amazon Fire for kids. Amazon fire is durable and with a variety of apps and programs for kids with access granted as required. Ensure to get the tab protector along with it as it prevents the tab from cracking or getting spoilt when it falls. There are other brands (apart from Apple, Samsung and Amazon) if you don't want the Amazon tab (which is the most kid-friendly of the 3) though but I can't say much about them since I don't have 1st hand experience about them. tushqueen: I need an advice please, where can I get educational tablets for kids 3/5 years old, I bought one from China the last time my friend traveled but it did not last long before it got spoilt. Try Lycamobile, Giffgaff or Lebara for PayG. With £5-10 monthly, you get about 1,000 minutes, 2-4gb data and 100 mins to about 40 countries (Nigeria not included). The TB certificate has to be valid at the point of her application. There were concessions of extra 6 months for those who applied after theirs got expired last year but I'm not sure if that's still in place. Expired, invalid or already used CAS can't be used; the university will need to generate another CAS. RealBae: Good morning Gurus and everybody here
Asking on behalf of my cousin She is waiting for her CAS from Salford Uni. The delay is really affecting all her plans. Her school will be starting 1/2/2021, and she has the option to start online and be in the UK before April, but the issue now is that her TB Certificate is expiring this January(January 17th 2021) because she defers her course from September to February intake. Can she still use the TB certificate to apply for her visa if she gets the CAS this week, or after it expired
Is there any update regarding using expired CAS because i remember there was something like that for people that apply last September. Correct me if i'm wrong.
Thanks as I await the gurus in the house to help out @mimilyrics |
