1. Yes, biometric records are kept forever and for every application made, registered details are cross-referenced in UKVI databases with matches explored for information discrepancies.
2. This depends on the merits of her application.
3. 10 year ban in cases of misrepresentation and deception. Subsequent applications will be scrutinised.

Ps: why was a different name used earlier? Was it used as a means to game the system or was it the person's legal name at the time?
BobbyDean:
Good day house. It's really nice what people do here.
i have some question and i will be highly appreciative of very reliable, evidence based answers and opinions.
someone i know tried to apply for UK visa about 11 years ago with passport that bears a name and date of birth that we will call J.K. Elizabeth and Bleep for the purpose of this thread and was denied(reasons not stated and more importantly her fingerprint was taken)
fastfoward to 2020, she's wants to reapply with another passport with her genuine name and date of birth.
now my questions are;
1. does the UK embassy keep biometric records for refused/denied visas? if yes, for how long?
2. does she stand a significant chance of visa approval this time? what are the odds?
3. what are the consequences if the previous records pop up?
like i said earlier, informative and factual answers and opinions will be highly valued.
thanks a whole lot.

For any job/vacancy that you apply for, your ability to confidently sell yourself, your skills and your value goes a long way. As it is in any field, your first application/ interview will not necessarily land you the role. Persistence and being able to meet the person specification / job requirements is also key.

@justwise, mimilyrics and other experienced people in the house.

Please I need clarification on the status of qualified accountants (ACCA) moving to the UK for studies. Is it that there are no jobs for accountants or British people are not just willing to employ foreigners because I do see loads of accounting vacancies on different jobs boards ad well as those posted to members portal by ACCA.
I am just wondering how it can be so difficult to get lucky with one of those opportunities that one is clearly qualified to take.

Thank you

The main applicant isn't the one applying, he has his visa already (and would have started spending his required funds on tuition / maintenance) so there's no need to show his own funds except the dependant just wants to have excess in the account; UKVI doesn't make this mandatory.

Funds recycling is another issue altogether. If UKVI suspects that this is the case for an application then, it will be an issue.
DareFadi:
festacgirlie

Is this true mimilyrics ? .... because if yes then the main applicant can easily apply then use that same money to apply for the dependent... meaning recycling the money

I would say it the main applicant maintenance plus dependent that should be shown

Just wise I think I seen a very old comment from you on this topic of recycling money

Same day as your test but if your test is inconclusive and you need to be tested again, it might take longer depending on the circumstances.

As long as it's for your school fees / living costs, it's allowed under the T4 rules.
If there's no urgency for your tuition fee payment, I'd advise that you leave the funds till you get your visa.

just4obitex:
Hello house @mimilyrics and other gurus in the house, please I have a question, I have been trying to pay my school fees but for the past two weeks it hasn't been possible. I've never prayed for my account to be debited this badly. So the question is
1. My money has passed 28days at the moment, can I now withdraw? Or do I have to leave it in the account till I finish all my processes. Please I need answers. Thanks
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 8:00pm On Sep 16, 2020
You only need to show your own maintenance funds.
festacgirlie:
Good evening all. My husband is a tier 4 student visa holder in UK. He recently got his visa. Please I would like to make a dependant visa application. I would like to know if I am only to show 6,120GBP (or naira equivalent) in my account only or do we need to show 9,150 (for him again) + 6,120 (for me) for the maintenance funds. We plan to use my account in Nigeria.

Thank you!

I can't confirm the authenticity of the schedule you attached but it might be correct because my mum's VA flight which was initially scheduled for a Saturday this month was rescheduled for a Sunday and that kinda tallies with what's on the screenshot.
Brightingsus:
Who can confirm this flight schedule/allocation? I checked on NCAA website and Google but couldn't find this.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics:
1. No. Proof of accomodation isn't necessary.

2. Some people who used the priority service dropped their comments few pages back. Can't remember the handles that posted or the pages that the comments are on but I'm sure that you'd find them when you go through previous comments.
Akomosule:

Please is it necessary to upload a proof of accommodation when uploading on TLS site??

Congratulations! You're welcome.
toyclicks:
Alright guys

Visa Approved
Here is my TL

Started this journey last year December
Initially chose Management as course of study.
I later remembered that NL was an info hub.
Got on this thread an d mentioned my course choice.
Some folks came up here and told me that I should not waste my money with that course that it is like going for a one year holiday in the UK at the cost of almost 10M investment. Rather I was advised to check the shortage list or choose anything related to IT. I wanted to settle for MIIT as it was an option that merged management with IT.
During this period, my Uni posted that they were going to start Fintech this 2020 sept session. I checked the course, it sited me excellently and it didn`t take long before I fell in love with it.
Course changed from Management to Fintech. Everything went smoothly but CAS was dragging and the wait was tiring. They finally told me CAS was gonna be ready one day. Later in the afternoon same day, School rep called me that he`s got a sad news. School can`t continue with Fintech for reasos beyond their control. CAS landed same day carrying FinTech as my course of study.
I reverted back to my MIIT jeje.
School took 2-3 days to effect change of course on UKVI

Submitted application on 28th of Aug
Made mistake on one of my parent`s DOB gave 3rd instead of 5th( I decided to leave it like that)
Got 14th Sept appointment date
Walk in - Monday 7th Sept. (They stopped face-to-face interview that day) so no interveiw
Bio metrics done same 7th Sept
Application transferred to DMC - 8th sept
Application received by DMC – 8th September
Application transferred back to VAC 10th September
Received this mail on 11th morning
Please be advised that a decision was made on your visa application today. Your documents and visa decision will now be returned by commercial courier to the visa application centre where you applied (unless you paid for the courier fee in which case it will be returned directly to you). This can take a few days and be subject to unforeseen delays so please wait for the visa application centre to advise you when your documents and decision are ready for collection.

Regards,
UKVI Pretoria
Application received by VAC 11th afternoon
Received mail to come for pick up a few minutes before 4pm on Friday 11th
Couldn’t concentrate on anything through the weekend
Picked up Passport on Monday morning 14th Sept that was initially supposed to be my scheduled interview date.
NB : I did no interview eventually neither face-to-face nor phone call.
It wasn’t a priority Visa, I only did walk in to bring interview date forward.

I rather subscribed to Abba’s Super priority and Super favour. Fortunately, He doesn’t have the capability to shame His own

Btw, special thanks to @Mimilyrics, too much of a darling, She literally got me to mail my SOP to her and did a thorough editing and fine tuning. See ehn, I leave holyspirit to do the prayer for you. You are loved.
This family has been invaluable. God bless @Seun Osewa

All Nigerian banks are accepted as long as they are regulated by CBN which is the financial regulator for Nigeria.
Theres currently no list for that for Nigeria though there are lists for banks in some other countries. Check https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration-rules/immigration-rules-appendix-p-lists-of-financial-institutions.

Yes, they should normally cross check to ensure that no document is missed. Once your document is listed in the checklist, it means that it's been uploaded.

Even though some schools specifically state the entry requirement grade as first class, 2.1, or minimum of 2.2, they will offer you admission if your personal statement (professional, volunteer and personal experiences) embodies all the qualities that they seek in prospective students so no harm in trying.
Anglia Ruskin University and University of Kent are 2 of such universities. If I remember any more, I will update if no one else has mentioned what i come up with.

Normally, this means that you have to have arrived on campus and physically completed your enrolment with the school by that date but with the Covid-19 situation and the temporary measures put in place for students to study remotely / online, you'd have to ask you school exactly what this means and if they are referring to the online or physical enrolment.

Thank you so much Mimi... she has a propety, but has no C of O for it. i spoke to her and she said getting a C of O is very expensive. but i have just told her that we would have to try to get it or get another document to prove she has a house. thats all she has actually.

You can print for the one month before your application submission.
Walk-in is for those who want to walk in to the VAC for their biometrics earlier than their appointment dates and time while the assisted service is when the VAC staff scans and uploads your documents for you.

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by mimilyrics: 2:27pm On Sep 12, 2020
Your plan seems good and addresses the two refusal reasons. If she has any other proof of her economic situation in Nigeria (i.e. owned property, rental income from owned property e.t.c.) you can add it.
Irenenwaka:
Hello all the Gurus in the house @mimilyrics @justwise @giselle237 and every other gurus. i am Irene and currently leaving in the UK. I am married to a nigerian british here in the uk. My husbaand brought me to the Uk through a student visa in 2018 before we did our wedding in 2019 and then i migrated to a spouse visa. The two refusal letter was for my mum when she applied for a visa to attend our wedding last year. Note- please i am going to be doing a lot of explanations so the gurus can clearly understand my situation in order to provide a genuine help.
So my mum is a business woman in alaba who sells furniture but whose finances is dependent on how many customer she has. my wedding was on april 27th. i did her first application myself in march, with some help from gurus here on nairaland. In the first application, i said she would be sponsoring her self and also submitted her trading account and also proves of business registration. As seen from the first refusal letter, appeared i failed to fully clarify the ECO on her income. when the refusal letter came it was about 4 weeks to my wedding and at this point i gave in to fustration because as the last born and closest child to my mum i couldnt stand my mum being absent at my weddding. it was severely heartbreaking. i decided to make another application ASAP but through priority service as the wedding was getting closer and this time i decided to apply through an agent as i was emotionally and mentally distressed and felt a professional such as an agent would avoid the mistakes i made in the first application.
Apparently, it appears this agent woman did more rubbish things than i did. In the Second application, She stated that my mums brother would be her sponsor( This was agreed by everyone, she also submitted very substantial documents from her brother as her brother is extremly wealthy). Again the agent said my mum was coming to visit me for 5 months and 8 days, which was completely a big lie and very useless because my mum was sincerely just coming for my wedding and didnt intend staying for more than two weeks. This agent proved to have very poor expertise, it only took the grace of God for my mum not to physically wrestle her loool. so i ended up doing my wedding in the absence of my mum.

So now forward to september 2020, i am now pregnant and my due date might be in april or may (not certain my first ante natal visit would be on the 24th of this month). i intend applying for a visa for my mum to come over for omugwo for about 2 months. Now i am back to this platform again and i must say i am strenghtened to make this application for my mum again under severe guidanace and plans.

My plan for the application in march 2021, taking into considerations the points listed by the ECO on the refusal letters is as follows:
1. I plan to tell my mum to start paying her self salary every month from this month from her business account to her personal account. As this might be easier to explain to the ECO. so she would end up submitting her personal account statement and just tell the eco that she pays her self salaray every month from her business.

2. my husband has a permanetn employment in the NHS and i am self employed. we both plan on sponsoring my mums trip this time for her omugwo. we will be covering every area of the trip and she will be staying with us .... I plan on my husband and i to send all our documents including his employment letter, payslips, my paid inovices, our bank statement , our proof of residency and invitation letter.
3. Also i plan to show sufficient proof of relationship, although the ECO never doubted our relationship of my mum nd i from previosu refusals.
4. finnaly, i plaln to add miscellenous documents....as much as i can from all three praties (my mum, husband and i).

please Gurus is this a very good plan?? i am sorry for all the stories.

I assume that the poster submitted his parents' bank statements hence the "how much does he earn" question immediately after the "who is sponsoring you" question. I may be wrong though but it seems like it.

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics:
Those are normal questions to ascertain that the money is truly available to you and not a facade. Being self funded basically means that you got the money from your family or from your savings/earning. No need to sweat it.

If you say you got the money from your salary savings, employment questions will follow and if you say your family gave you the money, questions on the financial ability of the family member will follow.

For clarity, official financial sponsors are international organisations / companies, UK govt, your home govt, your T4 sponsor who will usually show this sponsorship via an official letter or your CAS as the case may be.

Your parents can also officially sponsor you and you'll need to submit their statements, consent and your birth or adoption certificate as proof of this. Questions are often asked to ascertain their financial capabilities.

You can be self sponsored if you are showing the required funds in your account but these funds do not necessarily have to be from your earnings. Family members apart from your parents or legal guardians can transfer funds to you towards your studies since they don't qualify as official financial sponsors and in this case, they can be referred to as "unofficial" sponsors (meaning that you can't submit their bank statements to support your application but they can give you money towards your course) and questions are sometimes asked about their financial abilities.
yusufDeveloper:
Thank you. The reason why I asked is because the person were asked few of these questions:
1) Who's sponsoring me?
2) How much does he earn
3) How many dependents does he have?

If I tell them I'm self funded since all the funds is in my account, won't they ask for the work I'm doing?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics:
You're self funded if the money is in your personal account and you're using your personal bank statement as evidence of finance even if your bro or any other family sends your maintenance funds to your account.

The question usually asked about source of funds during the interview is basically to ascertain if the funds are truly available to the applicant and it doesn't negate the fact that the applicant is self-funded.
yusufDeveloper:
mimilyrics, Lagosismyhome and others

Please, I read a post on this thread where someone said he was asked during the interview Who's sponsoring me?. For those whose brother sent the funds into their account, what should be their reply to this question since a brother is not a legal sponsor. Should the answer be self funded despite the brother sent the funds to him into his account?
