I am wondering if it is the right step. Also the subject of the mail they sent to me is ACTION REQUIRED. Also the school offering a 50% scholarship for international students which is ending on the 10th of July which I submitted last week for submission and I am hopeful I will get it.I am wondering why the rush from them as i though CAS takes about 3 weeks for processing. |

Wrong! As long as you address what ever reason your visa was refused for and you include all the required documents for a T4 visa in the prescribed format, you stand a good chance of getting an approved visa. i.e. if you were refused for financial reasons, make sure that your finances are without fault; make sure your documentation is tight in addition with meeting all the T4 visa requirements. Whatever the previous error was, make sure it doesn't crop up again. This gives you a good chance at AR if the ECO makes an error on your application (in case of a refusal). Note: Do your findings about your school & course and be able to show a link between your course and your career aspirations/progression. Know the details of accommodation, transportation etc. that are available to you. You should also confidently handle your interview without generic answers; this will enhance your chances of passing the credibility test. preciousmathias: God bless you all for your various contribution.
I was refused a UK visit visa last year, so I applied for study this year and I was told that I may also be refused cos they may think I want to enter UK by all means possible and it's making me think twice
Please I need an advice thanks.
Please if anybody has a handful of information about Birmingham city university I will be glad to hear cos that's the school I have chosen among the once that gave me admission thanks. |

unstoppable0209: Good evening everyone, I heard visa office don't collect WAEC and degree certificate that is laminated hope this won't pose a problem when applying for visa? See quoted response below mimilyrics: Normally, you'd have to de-laminate it because laminated documents don't allow for easy identification of original documents.
But since you won't be physically submitting your documents to UKVI, it shouldn't be an issue; Just make sure you choose the self-upload option and make sure that your scan is of high quality without showing signs (gloss) of lamination or defacement.
The VAC staff that checks your documents might or might not let it slide. Worst case scenario might be you having to pay the VAC to remove it if they've got a service for that or going somewhere else to do it. |
Travel › Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 6:16pm On Jul 02, 2020 |
Select the self service upload and upload the soft copy on the document submission portal. You only need to print this out in colour (very clear copy) to show the VAC staff as confirmation of originality and verification of uploaded docs. If the VAC staff complains about it not being the original copy, explain the situation.

If it's to pay fees, you'd have to use form A, not request PTA. PTA is usually for tourist visa categories. The only way outside the official channels will be to use black market to fund your account (the BDC transfers to you; you can't use cash deposits for electronic transfers) or get someone you trust (and who's abroad or has unrestricted access to FX transactions) pay for you online while you give the person the naira equivalent. simeon83: Hello house, please my brother wants to pay his deposits but he got to his bank(gtb)they told him that they only sell PTA( that it could only happen when ban on international travel is lifted.. Is there any other way to get ponds to fund his domiciliary account in other to pay the deposits?, cos we don't know when ban on international travel will be lifted...thanks to you all. |

Teachers earn up to N600k and more in international schools. Luckymama: Based on the experience I would say the masters in education is better. And many schools give some allowance for MA in education when you have a lot of experience. I think the tuition is a bit high sha. Some schools have tuition of about 8k to 9k per session for a master’s. The only negative I can see is how to justify the expense based on the earning ability of teachers in Nigeria. A common reason for refusal is that there is limited opportunities for the field of study in Nigeria. Teachers are badly paid in Nigeria. I don’t think any teacher no matter the school can earn more than 2OOk per month How do you justify spending over 6 million Naira in order to come back to Nigeria to take a job that pays so little? If the prospective applicant can justify the expense of the schooling by showing how it will greatly improve his earning capacity then education is better. |

I might be wrong but I think MAGA in this case means Make America Great Again, at least that was the first meaning that came to my mind. A lot of MAGA proponents/believers believe that for America to be great again and more economically successful than it has been in the past, migration to the US should be limited and certain opportunities limited to US citizens irrespective of the circumstances. SmartKitty: 1. I know what you mean and how many of you hate white people but I tried to soft this topic, it's over this subject, no coming anymore to give birth on a tourist visa and it's good as anchor babies was also one form of scam. 2. Many people are stranded with no money, not only Nigerians but also Americans. And nothing is wrong to care about America. You can care about your precious Nigeria, it doesn't bother me at all but somehow it bothers you. 3.You just called me MAGA. It shows your true racist colors. In my understanding many Nigerians as you call all white people MAGA just because some were scammed, used and abused by your people and just because those so called MAGA have a heart to help some Nigerians crying they don't have money for food and living. It amazes me how many in this topic or fiance(e) topic are talking about love and marriage, push so hard to get visa and to come to America and at the same time call American people MAGA, etc. We all know how few are coming to America for real reasons and honest life. Shame on you, being a moderator here and pushing this topic to be racist. 4. Personally, I don't hate anybody here or there. I have friends of all colors and races including Nigerians yet I never be a friend to a racist person. Any form of racism and discrimination is wrong.
Continue pushing this forum to offensive hate. I can imagine how some Nigerians come to my country with hate in their soul and with MAGA word as a bitter stone in their heart. Shame of you. At least you should just shut up and stop creating segregation and hate. I tried to stop and soft this topic and to end this nonsense.
Keep going, we all learn. |

The person will have to pay your full fees directly to your preferred school (or transfer your tuition balance after deposit payment to your account) and transfer your maintenance funds to your account where it has to be for at least 28 days prior to your online visa application and in some cases, CAS issuance. You can't use the person's bank statements because the person doesn't qualify as a sponsor. Other options include: govt funded scholarships, scholarships from international companies/organisations, parental sponsorship, self sponsorship and loans. dgee1: Please house |

According to the UKVI, bank statements must be from banks regulated by "........in the case of overseas accounts, the home regulator (official regulatory body for the country the institution is in and where the money is held) for the purpose of personal savings accounts, confirming funds have been held for a consecutive 28-day period ending no more than 31 days before the date of the application and no later than the date of application." The financial regulatory body in Nigeria is CBN so if a MFB is registered with CBN and regulated by them, the MFB is okay to use. You should also find out if any one has used the statements from that bank before because it also proves that the bank can satisfactorily verify financial statements through UKVI established channels. The bank being able to verify the statement to UKVI as required and when due is key. SAMDEEA123: For real? |

As long as you've got valid leave as a student, yes. Your dependant will only be given the length of time remaining on your visa since his/her application will be dependant on yours. You can invite your fiance but he has to show evidence of his personal situation in Nigeria i.e employment, income, savings etc. Plus all other requirements for a visit visa and any other information that shows that he isn't gonna overstay his visa. Ps: You inviting him doesn't mean that his application will be automatically approved. Access2017: Hello everyone!
Pls I have a few questions to gain clarity on this dependent stuff.

1. Yes, please do. You have to declare all refusals (+ refusal reasons) and visas within the last 10 years preceding your application. 2. Yes, just you. 3. No need to lie. The UKVI rules allow you to apply/travel with your dependants once you're studying a level 7 course (only undergraduates can't travel with their dependants so if you're going for your undergraduate studies, your school is right). Your school can't stop you from travelling with your dependants if you're studying a course at Level 7 and above. All you need to do is show that you have enough funds for you and your dependants. Mosopea: Hello everyone, I have a few questions I need your opinions on 1) I applied for a visit visa to the UK in 2014 it was denied based on some documents missing, I reapplied 2 weeks later and it was successful- should I state the first refusal during my application? 2) will I as the principal applicant be the only one to take the visa interview? Or my spouse and possibly kids inclusive? 3) I was told not to let the school know I intend travelling with dependents. What do you think? |
Travel › Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 1:43pm On Jun 30, 2020 |
As a mother, you have automatic parental responsibility over your child but because the dad is listed on your child's birth certificate, he also has PR over that child so you have to be able to provide compelling reasons for this because UKVI is usually careful in cases where there are no legal documents to prove your claims/situation. A court affidavit will also further strengthen your case. If you can apply to the court for separation on the basis of your spouse being AWOL, that will work too. @Justwise if the last part of my comment isn't allowed, pls let me know so I can remove it.
Bukieinyang: Thank you for your response, I appreciate. Does the UK embassy recognize Nigerian affidavit? And please do you know what will count as proof of separation as spouse permission won’t be possible as there is no contact? Thank you. |

You need either your spouse's permission or proof of separation. Your best bet would be to swear an affidavit stating that you haven't been in contact with your spouse and that you don't know his/her whereabouts. This is to avoid stories that touch incase your spouse tries to sue you for keeping the child out of his/her reach (kidnapping). You'd also need to provide documents/evidence that show that you've been the one solely responsible for this child I.e. the child's medical and school letters addressed to you at your current address, evidence of school fees payments solely attributed to you and anything that can prove this. Bukieinyang: Good Day all, Please how can a separated parent prove sole responsibility of a child in the visa application under tier 4 visa. Since the rule states that one should apply with a child and spouse together. In a case where the parents are separated and not in contact, how can this be proven? Asides divorce certificate or death certificate? Thank you. |

1. Yes, you can. Some people would like to get settled before having dependants over but if you're not asked, don't answer. Only answer the questions that you're asked and when you answer, be as direct as you can without any superfluous language. 2. BRP details (If the main applicant is in the UK already), Visa vignette (if applying immediately the main applicant gets a visa; this expiry of the visa vignette should be borne in mind), proof of maintenance, documents to prove that they are your dependants (birth certificates, marriage certificates, joint bills, pictures, proof that you've lived at the same address prior to the application e.t.c) 3. The main applicant doesn't have to be in the UK before dependents apply. Dependants can apply with the main applicant, apply immediately the main applicant gets his visa (this is time sensitive as a result of the 30-day life of the vignette) or weeks or month(s) after the main applicant gets to the UK. bayosegun: @olarinde,
Pls can someone say we need to sought out accommodation before the dependants can join?
If ok, what are the documents the main applicant will send to add to dependants application
And must the main applicant get to UK first before the dependants file theirs application? |

Here are some of the questions you should expect. Note that some questions may be dependent on what information that you include on your application and your travel history. - Name, Date of birth, Nationality. - Where will you be studying? - Course and resumption/end dates. - How long is your course for? - Why did you choose your school? - Did you apply to other schools? (If yes, pls state the other schools and courses and say why you chose your current school over them) - Why did you choose your course? (No generic answers pls. Have a clear, explainable positive impact that the course will give you. You can tie it to your personal and professional goals.) -Why did you choose the UK? (Pls do not give a generic answer. Make your answers as personal as possible) - Where do you plan to stay in UK? (If it's off campus, you can mention some of the options you've seen online and are considering. If it's on campus and your room hasn't been assigned, say so) - How will you get from your accommodation to the university? (Know the best kinda transportation for you, know what it costs per month and for the year) - Do you have any friends or family living in UK? (Yes with a brief explanation. No doesn't need an explanation) - How much is the accommodation? (GBP xxxx PCM (Per Calendar Month) inclusive of bills) - Have you paid for the accommodation? (No or yes with a brief explanation of your accommodation option to show that you've done your homework) - How are you paying your fees? (Govt, international organization/Company) You can briefly mention how you heard about the sponsorship and your application process / What's your relationship with your sponsor (Parents)? - What are your plans after this course? - What type of salary do you expect you can earn after completing your studies? (You can give a ballpark figure if you are not 100% sure) Lianalexa: Thank you for your response But they did not send me any likely interview questions and I'm trying to figure out what to expect.. Lagosismyhome is right. While the UK may not have voting rights in EU, the UK is still bound by EU rules until the transition period is over. Aside from the changes to the UK's positions in EU institutions (lack of voting rights and participation in decision-making), almost every other thing is the same i.e. EU driving licences are still being exchanged for UK licences using pre-Brexit provisions, Free movement of British citizens within the EU (in March, my sister and her daughter, my niece, were able to freely travel to 2 EU states even though the UK isn't part of the EU anymore) and EU citizens are still eligible for the EU settlement scheme till few months after the transition period. Doyinh: Yes I understand that there will be a transition period but understand that during the transition Period, the United Kingdom is no longer a Member State of the European Union or of the European Atomic Energy Community. As a third country, it will no longer participate in the EU’s decision-making processes. It will also no longer be represented in the EU institutions (such as the European Parliament and the EU Council of Ministers), EU agencies, offices or other EU bodies. |
