Oludrex: Bible is Not the cause of confusion.. The main cause is this men of God turned god of Men and their HYPOCRITICAL teachings.

It's not the men of God or even the gods of men,it's our doctrinal and religious stands ! Most of us refuse to study the bible to know for our selves.Some of us study for the purpose of attacking those of different denomination.And some settle for the letters and not the spirits of the word itself ! Pastor Kun: Go and study your bible again, strong drink there refers to other types of alcoholic drinks such as beer(which was also popular amongst the ancient israelites). It was not trying to suggest that the wine there was not an alcoholic beverage.

I want to hold on to scriptures that out rightly instructs me not to take alcohol becos i know if i take just a little today,i will continue with much tomorrow. Hold on to the one you want ! If i dnt take alcohol,i will not miss heaven.But if i continue to take,i might continue to get drunk and who knows,i might be drunk at the appearance of Christ(God forbid)What will HE tell me ?

I just noticed a deliberate fraud in the way you editted and qouted that verse out of context. this very same verse you are trying to use to confuse people states clearly that one can consume wine or strong drinks it also stated that the tiths money [which you covet so much] can also be used to eat and drink alcoholic drinks. it is not pure hypocrisy on your part to edit and quote the verse out of context to prove your manipulative point? I would quote the verse below for all to see and expose the fraud you tried to commit by quoting scriptures out of context.

There is no difference between a glutton and a drunkard, the key is moderation.

If you cannot control yourself , do not take alcohol. I personally take a little wine now and again, Timothy in the bible did for his stomach ailment.

As for storing liquor in the home, it is not recommended especially due to the children.

"Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand." - Philippians 4:5


As for immorality, of course, this is one of the most destructive sins and to endure in it without repentance is to risk eternal damnation.

Since there is much controversy with the intake of alcohol as christians,i think we should watch out for the consequences and how grave these consequences are !

Apart from the fact that both gluttony and drunkenness are sinful acts before God,I think i prefer to be a glutton than to be a drunk ! I am not saying this becos i don't drink(after all i have some alcoholic drinks at home as i say these words) or becos i have so much at home to eat(after all i still starve some days waiting to be paid after a job )!
In the bible,how many times were we instructed not to eat in excess and how many times were we warned against drunkenness ?
This pastor never said alcohol in itself is a sin but the things you do having taken alcohol is the bone of contention here ! He is saying that a little occasional sip today will most certainly lead to uncontrollable gush tomorrow ! There are people who are praying to be 'delivered' of drunkenness and some are busy here today defending drunkenness by saying just a sip won't harm you ! Alcohol is not food ! Once u get hooked on the table of men,u get high there and then !
Show me one who take alcohol occasionally and i will show you one who get's intoxicated,high, tipsy occasionally ! Oh ! I almost forgot, frosbel and myself m.k.o 2005 are occasional alcohol takers and at the same time occasional drunkards !
There is no long term or even short term befits as such in taking alcohol.For food,there are benefits no matter the quantity ! It all depends on the type of food ! But alcohol is alcohol !
The big difference between food(gluttony) and alcohol(drunkenness) is in what we eat ! Veggies,meat,cabs etc -for food !
Spirits,red/white wines,bear,stout,rum,whisky etc - all are alcohol and will eventually lead to drunkenness.
Over feeding = Stomach upset pending on what you took !
Drunkenness = Intoxication

Jesus'maiden miracle bein wine goes a long way to show us that wine(fresh wine)in itself isn't bad !
The Jews in those days and even today does not lack wine(grape juice) during ceremonies especially the wedding ceremony like the one in Canaan ! But the big question should be what kind of wine did Jesus made available in 20 gallons for the people at the wedding feast ? The master of ceremony called it the good wine ! Did the bible call it an alcoholic wine ? The bible never called it an alcoholic wine but we did !
No fresh wine has got intoxicating level of alcohol in it but as fermentation takes place over hours and days in some cases,the fresh wine becomes fermented and can intoxicate like hell ! So wine has got the potential to intoxicate but fresh wine can NEVER INTOXICATE ANY ONE !
Jesus made available of fresh wine and not alcoholic intoxicating wine ! Mind you,the jews refer to all the wines both intoxicating and non intoxicating as wine but they differentiate it with 'new and old wine'. Besides,this pastor may be against the intake of strong drink(alcoholic drink)because he knows that God warned us against bein drunk and in some places HE GOD said we should not take it at all and there is no way you will continue to occasionally drink alcohol without you also some times bein occasionally drunk ! The only i can't get drunk and sin against God is not drinking at all ! What are the benefits of taking alcohol in any quantity ? If at all there are benefits,what are the negative conscienceless ? If you do things with all your might according to Eccl.9:10,it will be top priority in your life ! This pastor is saying you shouldn't be slow to making sacrifices and obeying God(it should be priority) becos according to the same Eccl.9:10,wen you die,you will not be able to do them again and your workings,wisdom,knowledge and also plans will be irrelevant !

Thank God these men of God or of gods are not men of men. It concerns them and their gods or God ! The bible warned us of these fake men. Christ said we should be guided.He never asked us to insult,abuse or curse them when we discover them.Rather HE said we should guard our hearts.If i discover that a particular man is not of God but of gods,i go on my kneels and pray for him.After all Jesus said we should bless those who curse us.Pray for those who despite fully use us and also do good to those who hate us.
