1. Have you ever been forced to sow a seed? It is always voluntary!

2. When will you learn that even though the pastor could ignite the sowing, but the agreement is between you and God? He knows how to pay you back.

3. Have you forgotten the poor woman in the bible that cooked her last meal of flour (semo) for Elijah to get God's abundance?
What about Abraham sacrificing his only child?

4. Though the miracle might not be instant. . .but God never forgets!


5. Instead of blaming others, why don't you give it a try by sowing the seed and holding unto God to play his part.


My Testimony

2 years ago, I went to a church where the pastor embraced us to sow a seed of faith. I gave out everything in my pocket, including my tfare (call it stupidity if you like"

After the service, I planned to trek home. . .but I saw a friend that took me home in his jolly ride. On getting home, a man has been waiting to give me a job. Through out the week, it was one payment or the other. I got times 200 of what I gave out!

I tried it over and over by not seeing the pastor but God as my partner in the seed and he has suprised me beyond what I could say.


As per the $240 and $100. . . I was in the service and the second day was even more . . .$1000.

It's voluntary, so no one looked down on any. I tried my best and am believing in God (not Ashimolowo) for a greater testimony. By the way, the money belongs to the church, not the guest pastor!

Remember the warning in Revelation where we are asked not to add to the word of prophecy. We cannot help God. I do not have an answer to this controversy but maybe you can help. I see that the Word enjoins us to give bountifully, but is there a reference to particular amounts?

It's about giving ur ALL-The widows mite !Give almost all that you have irrespective of ur condition.
Giving cheerfully-The bible says that God loves a cheerful give.No matter how much you are giving,let it come from ur heart
And giving what MUST cost u something-David said that he will not give God what does not COST him !Cain gave anyhow and was rejected but abel gave the VERY best.

Pastors sometimes want's to be specific according to the instruction given to them by God !-(spiritual) and that does not mean that if u give above that,it will be rejected or if u give below,it won't be accepted.
Some times the word of God is applied.
There are things that we do that may not be literally seen in the bible but a close spiritual view will show it to u scripturally.Apostle paul says that the letters of the law kills but the spirit of the law gives life !

In one of the Sunday service in my church, My pastor during the sermon encouraged us to help those in Need around us and asked us to help someone in financial Need this week and see what God will do in our lives. We Set out and by Next Sunday there were Testimonies everywhere and prayers answered.


The above is an example of what it should be like. Imagine all churches encourage that, but what we see is the Term "Fertile" ground. Only when u drop it in the church or in the corfers of the pastor that's when U get Blessed ? More churches More Crimes, More kidnapping, some even steal and send to pastors ..... This is killing Christianity. Go on Evangelism out there and see what people say. Am I judging ? Of course No. I will definitely not keep quiet and see Charlatans take over Christianity or see people fooled and robbed of their sweat...

Please don't get me wrong, Many people have resolved to be atheist because of many Selfish acts by Men that are supposed to be Role Models. My positin is this , THEY ARE MEN and not GOD and are capable of Making mistakes.

You said something concerning ur pastor admonishing members to be kind to one another.To go out there and sow into some ones life. To help the needy,BUT no one started a thread about that wonderful and spiritually motivated teaching.But the day ur pastor will teach concerning giving in the house or giving to a pastor to aid their work with God or for the purpose of evangelism,THEN some one will start up a thread on that. That is what i am saying ! There are people who are just happy the way things are and does not want it to change at all.
Those who weere christians and resolved to be atheists,were baby christians in the first place but i am not saying that if you are a son in the kingdom of GOD that u shouldn't consider the babies-NO. The reason i asked if you are a christain is because of the kind of post you put up. The word of God if you go by the letter,it kills ! But the spirit gives life ! The giving and receiving,sowing and reaping are all in our holy bibles expecially king james and others alike. For the fact that i want to live on earth and die a pauper and go to heaven does not mean that others must go to heaven my way ! Some others want's to make wealth here on earth,enjoy it here on earth and still leave it here for heaven. Job was the richest in the whole of EAST yet he was a servant of God. Lazarus was a pauper and dogs come every now and then to leak his wounds and yet he made heaven. It depends on how u see it. Money is good but shouldn't be worshipped. If these men worship money,then they have missed it. HOW do i know this ? My bible tells me so. There are churches who's members take alchohol and no one boarders them and some other churches ask their memebers not to take alchohol at all.If they have a good relationship with God,they will both make heaven. One of the reasons the protestants left the Roman catholic church was becos they discovered that they can be married,have children and still be a priest that will hear from God and make heaven at last. But both priests if their relationship with God is good will stil make heaven.
What we should be weary of is wen our pastors no longer teach biblical principles or start to contradict the word of God.Even at that,we are not expected to abuse them but to leave their church and start to pray for them.If we can advise them,let us go to them and do so. Besides,that which we think is right might actually be wrong.

24hr miracle is a trademark message that Pastor Mathew has preached in over 100 churches worldwide. In fact, I don't think he'd stop anytime soon.

Giving is a matter of personal conviction. No matter what you say here, people will NEVER stop giving and pastors will NEVER stop encouraging people to give. THE TRUTH REMAINS THAT THERE IS POWER IN GIVING. Of course its not for everybody to believe. Nobody even sows better than these pastors if you care to believe.

For those of us that worship at KICC, we have sowed different variants of the 24hr seed. Sometimes its N24,000, 24 USD, 24USD. There is another one he encourages us to sow also; its called "blessing of a thousand times more than our fathers". Sometimes we also sowed for God's blessing taking us into another dimension of breakthrough. It's never an issue of do-or-die. Sow if you believe and if you don't, pls stay back.

I purposely wrote this to let you know that some people don't have problem sowing to these prophesies. If you call us fools, we'll tell you God bless you. For someone like me, I always look for an opportunity to sow into a fertile ground because I always reap more than 100% from sources I don't expect.

Deep Sight: Earlier this week (Tuesday, I believe) Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo was at HICC Church in Gbagada as a Guest Preacher.

He informed the audience that there is something he does which is called a 24 hour blessing in which those who tap into it receive a huge blessing within 24 hours. According to the Pastor, Those who wanted this special blessing were to come out and line up and sow a seed of USD $ 240.00 (Two hundred and forty USD).

He informed the congregation that there is also another special blessing which requires paying $100 and also asked those paying this sum to come out and form a second line.

He further said that those who wanted both special blessings should come forth and form a third queue between both queues and come out with $340.

All queues were full, long and crowded.

I was informed of this by a relative of mine who is a member of the Church and was filled with disgust.

He wondered why these "blessings" are not available to those who could not afford such sums.

Anything negative concerning the CHURCH OF GOD sells like anything that moves market u can think of ! The positive sides of the church of God can't be seen on naira land. It may make his travel a little harder, but the Prime Minister believes it's up to him to set an example."

In a very poor country where there are soooo much needs and sooooooooooo many needy, how can heads of churches be buying private jets?

How many hungry mouths can a typical cost of a private flight from Lagos to abuja feed?
What does it cost to maintain a private jet in a typical year, counting, insurance, pilots salaries, parking fees, landing fees, maintenance and services costs, fueling, etc?
How many anti-viral drugs could it buy? How many shelters, clinics, antenatal clinics,vocational training centers and hospices could that amount build for millions of needy christians who are hourly asking god for any sort of reprieve from sufferings?

All those trying to rationalize the insanely wicked lifestyles of these so-called MOG baboons, are yourselves nothing but monkeys.

flops: In as much as the members of the congregation give the tithes and offering freely, then indeed no crime has been committed. The church does not operate
like a public company or a listed company where the shareholders can decide to protest if management seems to be embezzling money.

Rather than worry about the pastors or overseers enriching themselves from the churches pot,
let Christians begin to advocate at their churches that the accounts should be made public.

Every church should render quarterly financial statements which can be independently audited.
If indeed there is nothing to hide, and the churches are doing God's work, then put all that information in the public domain.

Let the congregation and the supposed unconverted masses judge for themselves how these churches are run and then decide to if, when and
where to pay tithes and offering.

After all, its not very difficult to judge how a church spends money, look at the church building, landed property, equipment, automobiles etc
and do a simple valuation, like the initial poster did.

But my view is simply Christians should champion the cause of openness and transparency and compel their churches to put everything out in the open.

A lot of the people on this forum are Christians, many are workers in church and many are pastors etc with a nairaland alter ego.

So lets get the real information.

In my opinion,trying to ask for accountability in church will make the church look like one village meeting or social club !
Just give ur offerings,tithes,pledges all you do for God and in the long run,yourself. Youe God knows ur heart and ur actions. Allow those pastors who steal church fund(God'fund)to go ahead the owner of the money will handly them if neccessary. But if you can't go by this,stop giving or going to church all together if it will do you good !

We have seen people impersonating in all fields;soldier,doctors,lawyers,police,Navy,native doctor,politicians and the pastors/prophet & prophetess bein impersonated shouldn't be a news !

Why was the devil there ? Was he equally called ? I keep telling people that not every body that say father lord father lord truly knows the father! No pope,no bishop,no reverend,no pastor,no priest should be trusted but the word of God should be seen as the apex of 'our' christianity. All the men/women with these titles mentioned here can all come in ships clothing but are truly wolves but at the end,we will know.But by the discernment of the spirit,we can identify the Godly or devilish fruits they exhibit !
These women here can't be prophetesses of God but for sure of the devil if they are truly guilty of this offence ! No one who lives in sin can be seen as a child of God ! Sin is not of God but of d devil.If i fall into sin and realized that i ahve sinned,feel bad or uncomfortable with it,ask for forgiveness and truly repent of it and try not to go back to it, I AM A CHRISTIAN for my bible tells me that a child of God does not sin ! But if he sins(falls into sin)he should remember that there is an advocate with the father in heaven who can intercede with the FATHER on his behalf. And my bible concluded this one by telling us saying;'shall we continue in sin that grace may abound ?' and it says;GOD FORBID.
So pls brothers who understand and the ones who care to know,not every one who say they are christians are truly christians !

All businesses of whether church of God or church of satan must be taxed if there are laws for company or business organisations to pay tax as is the case of Nigeria. Whether the members of the church can patronize this businesses or not isn't the concern of the state laws ! What some are sayings is:
Take taxes from the christians,muslims and all other believers who work and earn a living and leave the worship places alone ! But if the government insist that they must pay these taxes, CHURCHES SHOULD GIVE IT TO THEM SO LONG AS IT DOES NOT MAKE ONE TO COMPROMISE HIS FAITH OR HINDER ONE FROM MAKING HEAVEN !

This isn't the issue here.Look at the thread properly my brother.Jesus did not come to do all these things you mentioned and that was the reason he did not even marry and so many other things we do today as christians.He came just to die for you and me. All other things HE did was in readiness for HIS death. The question is: Should churches and mosques pay tax ? If you say they should ,Why ? and if you say they shouldn't,why shouldn't they ? Who told you Muslims pay tithes? Muslims DO NOT pay tithes, there is nothing like tithe paying in Islam, please look for another excuse to justify the thieving ways of your pastors.

So sory,i dnt intend to lie.I was only thinking that the zarkat or zarka i.e the money you keep for a particular period on time that you dnt touch in a given year that u are expected to bring or pay 2.5 percent of the money. 1. Not compulsorily taken from the congregation, it is voluntary.
2. Given to charity.
3. Not given to the Imam for his personal use.
And how dare you compare Friday offerings to the payments churches get?
You people collect tithes, first fruits and whatever foolish dues your church associations charges the members coupled with offering from your Monday to Friday church programs. If it is not youth meeting offering then it is Bible study offering.

All church goers who earn must pay tax cos it's biblical ! But a church that lives on charity,offerings and tithes that isn't compulsory in most churches if not all shouldn't be taxed at all.
See below where even our master Jesus paid both the IMPERIAL TAX and the TEMPLE TAX:

See below the instruction regarding payment of the IMPERIAL TAX which is the kind of tax FALANA seek from the church instead of the members of the church:

From what we have above,it is not wrong to pay either the terbanacle tax if we are told to do so in our churches by any church leader who does not understand that sons do not pay such tax but subject do OR neither are we not expected to pay the IMPERIAL TAX (FASHOLA TAX,the state or country tax)Which i pay as a christian since i started working. But christ never instructed the terbanacle or chruch to pay any any of the two taxes. BUT JUST NOT TO OFFEND THEM,IF THEY FALANA/FASHOLA NEEDS IT,LET'S GIVE IT TO THEM becos the bible said we should obey all authorities so long as it does not contradict or will be in dissonance with our salvation !

This topic is borne out of the burden I felt over the issue of what is normal and what is right. Most times, the frequency at which we do some things may actually impair our judgement of normality and rightness. I am not really the "brother" type but more of a moralist who cannot but be amused by the level in which churches are being run especially in this part of the world.

A very close pal visited me today and continuously ranted about how the church where he plays bass guitar "bleeped up" by not paying his October salary. I wasn't really surprised since this wouldn't really have been the first time of hearing of such payments. I had to question him on the necessity for such since he did it for GOD and that resulted in a long argument with him giving untold reasons.

My question is, Is it right for these churches to needlessly subject themselves to untold hardship trying to run the church and at the same time trying to pay salaries to the so called instrumentalists?

Your opinions will be appreciated.

There are people who work for God and there are people who work with God !
Those who work with God does not consider the money before doing the work.They put God first.Most times,they turn down any form of payment and they decide to do it for free becos they know it's God's work no matter how you present it to them. They play to lift their spirit,the spirit of other worshipers and to please their God.
Those who work for God can be paid.If you get paid as a hireling or one who works for God,it does not mean that you have sinned becos as some one said earlier,that your gift will for sure make a way for you-This is the word of God.And the professional instrumentalists are not exceptions.If you say they shouldn't be paid and that is what they do for a living,how will they survive? There are people who are professionals but do not take money from small churches when they play for them.But most big churches can afford to pay them to aid or add to the quality worship of God in church.
So my take on this is,if you want to be paid as a professional instrumental in the house of God,there is nothing wrong with it especially when you dnt do any other job other than that but do not place money above what you do !
And if you dnt take salary or wages of any kind,pls continue that way your gift will SURELY MAKE A WAY FOR YOU !

coldgate: HI NLDERS, I need your candid advice. My nine-month old son attends a creche run by the RCCG church which is only two blocks from my home.This is also where I worship.The Creche also has a tutorial class for afternoons. My 3 and half yr old daughter attends this after school. Now my grouse with the creche is that when my little boy started, the elderly pastor's wife who runs the creche also employed another woman to work at the creche. Recently, I noticed that whenever I go to the creche in the morning to drop my son (I work in a financial Institution on the Mainland and leave home at 7:45)the pastor's wife is no longer there. Instead, a young girl or at times, the pastor's ward dressed in school uniform is the one I meet at the creche. When I get to work, I try to call to find out if she is at the creche and she would reply that the she was there and the baby is fine. Now I have a strong suspicion that she leaves my child and others in the care of this young girl of about 15 yrs old. The other woman who used to work there no longer comes.I am seriously considering taking my son away from this creche because I am not satisfied with everything. Yet a part of me still clings on because THIS IS MY CHURCH. I guess I am just being sentimental. Pls, House, what do you advise?

Have you confronted the woman or her husband why she is no longer always there? or have you told them that u are not comfortable leaving your child with the teen instead of the mummy of the house ? Ask them questions and if they can't give you good reasons as to why you have to leave ur child with them or why the mummy of the house is no longer there or if the mummy of the house is saying that she stays there all day as against ur findings,you know is time to leave ! As a member of the church,is it for free that they look after your child ? This is business. Most pastors in RCCG and their wives work and do other businesses !As for the teen who now take care of ur child at the daycare,pls note that there are teens in most of these day cares who get paid to look after children at day care centers like the one where ur child is ! If u choose to stay there after your questions to the owners,try find out how qualified this teen is becos you dnt have to be a graduate to be a professional in that field becos there are teens who look after kids better than their mums ! If the teen is a student,try to monitor the time duration she looks after ur child and who takes over after she might have left for school ! It's possible pastor wife comes to take over after the teen leaves for school !
Go and do d needful and dnt leave everything to pastor and the wife !
For every parents here especially the mothers,it is better to be engaged in businesses that leaves you with ample time to look after your children,bringing them up in the way of God to make them better citizens and future good leaders of this country than leaving your child in the hands of day care people who may give them sleeping pills for them to sleep so dey dnt disturb too much till u come back from work where you have gone to make money to support ur family at the expense of the health,growth and development of your loved one !

I call my self a christian and i have never withnessed to people about the death and resurrection of christ. I call myself a christian and i abuse men of God for reasons best known to me or for no just reason. And so many other things i do that contradicts the word of God. I tell you,if you do any of these things mentioned here and others like adultery and fornication,when ever any witch or evil enchantments against you,they will not only affect you negatively but they can make your life miserable.Going to church or belonging to a particular denomination never qualifies any one as a christian.
