What of the locals whe harboured terrorists and provided them with hiding places?

And the locals who provided necessities?

There are too many Boko Haram sympathizers in that region for anyone to rejoice at a few images.

Christianity Etc › Re: What's Your Best Moment In Church? by mmsen:
I like listening as the pastor spouts nonsense, demands a 'donation' and the foolish sheep acquiesce.

I've heard tales of pastors curing cancer, curing AIDS and watched as no one questions their claims.

I've seen pastors tell members that it is wrong for them to spend millions educating their own children before their give millions to the church and the foolish parishioners have sat there, said nothing and then given money after the moronic lecture.

We are the most prayerfull nation on earth, and we are known allover the world, as the bedrock of nationwide corruption, scamming and fraudulent activities.
our society is decayed in all ramifications and yet we are one of the most religious country in the world, does that even make sense?
It makes perfect sense because religion is about lies, deception and power.

The very bedrock for Islam and Christianity are lies written in the so-called 'holy' books.
Politics › Re: Nigeria's Problem Is Not Prayer - Ben Murray-Bruce by mmsen: 10:04am On Oct 22, 2016
Ihavespoken:
Its sad when any disaster happens in Nigeria for example I was on a night bus sometime ago and 30 minutes into the journey, the driver complained that the fan belt of the engine keep disuntegrating.

Every ten minutes the driver stops to adjust the fan belt in the middle on nowhere at 12am midnight. The only solution most fellow passengers could think of is to keep shouting and speaking in tongues "What is wrong with Africans".

Not more than one person including me out of 50 persons suggested a proactive approach to the problem like asking the driver to call his bosses for a sound bus, finding the nearest police station to park for safety or looking for a nearby mechanic to sort the problem.

All they could think of was to speak in tongues, I weep for Nigeria.

The mentality of most Nigerians is next to a monkey.

Do I believe in prayers? Yes I do.
Is it the only solution to a problem? No its not, it needs to be backed up with creative thinking and firm action.

Nigerians make prayer seem like a joke, when Americans say God bless America, they do so because they have done everyother aspects of the task and God is asked to oversee all that has been done.
You can see for yourself that prayer is a foolish, pointless practice yet still engage in said practice?

What does that tell us about you?

Are you not equally culpable in all of the mess that you can see as a result of the Nigerian obsession with the 'supernatural'?

I agree with this image but something is missing because children do not acquire religious indoctrination of their own choosing.

They have it forced upon them by their parents/elders. It is they who are the problem.

at last the insurgency they allowed to fester is yielding fruits, there has always been a saying that even in war someone stands to benefit, and I guess this will be at the expense of the south, while they are busy fighting and bickering amongst themselves, the north are busy drawing the master plan of hostile take over, smh
They won't profit at all.

Despite decades of military rule that has distorted Nigeria's growth the North is still one of the worst corners of the African continent.

They can steal billions of ND money and still end up impoverished because they are too simple-minded to create a functioning economy. They are light years behind places like Lagos, Anambra, AKS, CRS and Rivers despite all of their pilfering.

Even now they're talking about starvation in IDP camps - how did that happen? Aren't the farms that we hear about, the ones that supposedly feed the nation, in the North?

What's all this regional commissions whilst the real issue is thrown outside the window...
You can't push for common sense solutions whilst more than half the legislature hails from the North.

This latest measure is another example of the useless political class using tragedy to line their own pockets. Nevermind the fact that it is their own ineptitude (or connivance) that lead to said tragedy.

The money that was allocated for IDPs was stolen by the eternally useless Northern political class, likewise the food itself. What will happen to this money?

I hope this commission would be funded with proceeds from agriculture in the north..
Those people will starve if they try and fund anything with proceeds from the North.

They'll steal the money from the ND and Lagos to fund their corrupt commission.

Much of the money meant to feed and house the IDPs has been stolen by Northerners yet they keep asking for more money.

And we wonder why we are backward. In 2016, people still think an exotic bird like an owl is a witch. When will Nigerians get brain? When will Nigerians stop disgracing themselves with silly spirikoko shenanigans. Rubbish
If we tolerate the idiots who brand their children 'witches' and then banish them then why should we be surprised that there are people who stupidly think that an owl is a 'witch'.

Anything that these idiots do not understand (or like) will be given a 'spiritual' title so as to justify their frightened and abusive reaction.

The prevalence of religion in Nigeria is a major scourge that needs to be tackled. We cannot keep providing a safe space for irrational thoughts and actions and then get angry when things like this happen.

1) Was it Shiites who started killing Christians when Silverbird wanted to organise Miss World pageant in Nigeria?

2)Was it Shiites who started killing Christians in the North during the Danish Cartoon Saga?

3) In 1991 German evangelist Reinhard Bonnke attempted a crusade in Kano, causing a
religious riot leading to the deaths of about a dozen people.. Was this act committed by Shiites too?

4) Modu Sheriff, Ndume, Mohammed Yusuf, Alhaji Buji foi creators of Bokoharam are they Shiites too

Sunni Wahhabism/Salafism....

Park Well Jare cool
You may be right that Shiites have not conducted terrorism activity in Nigeria, yet. But it's only a matter of time.

They've caused a lot of grief in the Middle East. Sunnis and Shiites are both trouble. Let them keep their mess in the Middle East.

I'm wrong to say that Jesus is dead because we have no evidence that he was ever alive.

Are u actually trying to vindicate a tribe thay still buries people with their king?
Sory, no tribe is innocent.
Moreover, (as reards Christianity) can u show me where Jesus Christ said u should pray with dead people?
Do you have evidence of other 'tribes' killing twins?

I'm not vindicating anything - you made a fallacious argument. The number of people who engaged in the foolish practice that you speak of would have been in the thousands, at most.

The burying people with kings ended a long time ago. Societies will always adapt, that includes adopting and discarding religions. Just as people flocked to adopt xtianity and Islam because they were sources of power, so too will people discard them to join new groups and adopt modern ideas that enable them to acquire power and privilege. That is why religion tends to spread along trade routes.

Also, Jesus is reported to have a said a lot of things that xtians ignore - your beef is with them, not me.

Christians pray to Jesus, who is dead. Some of them pray to Mary, also deceased. Some address their prayers to saints, also dead.

If u are not a hypocrite? How did Christianity enslave your ancestors and why are you using the education and civilization brought by the christian missionaries today?
Where will u have been without the education they brought u? Maybe killing twins and sacrificing human heads and worshipping animals.

Sometimes, u people just write for writing sake. Sorry to say
Mscheww,
Yorubas never killed twins. It was only a small group of people, in a cluster of villages in what is now Cross River state who did that. Even today Cross River is one of the least populated areas of Nigeria, with a population of less than 4 million. Imagine what the population would have been in the 1800s with higher death rates, infant mortality rates and lower life expectancy?

And what is the difference between worshipping animals and worshipping dead Jewish people? Praying to supposed virgin mothers? Or pleading with dead people for favor and guidance?

You grossly underestimate the damage that northern Nigeria has done if you think that they are only responsible for 50% Nigeria's problems.

The moronic, poorly scripted constitution, the false federalism that Nigeria practices and all of its problems are as a result of Northern short-sighted stupidity.

Every terrible leader that has stolen power at Federal Government level has come from the North.

Donald Trump hasn't said anything about Africa or Africans and nor has he said anything to show that he 'hates blacks'.

He is a capitalist, a failed one at that. With (at least) four bankruptcies; countless failed businesses; and a defunct sports league to his name.

He knows that most people are stupid, hence why he has been able to license his name for financial gain and why he is able to leverage his popularity for votes.

He is the leader that American society deserves, as far as I'm concerned.

Are you saying that the Emir is a hypocrite?
A whole Emir? An educated Emir for that matter?
Was he not attached to a 16 year-old child not so long ago?

His paper 'education' has had no bearing on his attachment to retrogressive cultural beliefs.

He isn't arguing about the affect that marrying and impregnating a child has on the subsequent children and on the wider society but because of his society's dedication to a failed Middle Eastern dogma.

And this man is even more ridiculous when he suggests that 30 to 40 children was ever sustainable. People engage in that manner of reckless breeding to offset appalling life indices, especially low life-expectancy and high death rates, not because the economy is buoyant. When economies are buoyant people find other forms of entertainment besides the rape of teenage girls. They also invest in healthcare to eradicate public health scourges such as polio.

You cannot build another UAE in a region as unstable and retrogressive as Northern Nigeria.

UAE has a small population. Northern Nigeria has a large, expanding populace.

Saudi has the largest oil reserves in the world, they have not become anything like the UAE because of the population pressures. Should they discover oil Northern Nigeria would be in an even worse position than the House of Saud.
