linearity: Is that the lesson or that, Africa babies are built and shaped by the invisible hands of God to be more rugged than their westerner counterpart?
And that, when you are put in a situation to interact with them, you should handle them delicately and use caution, at every turn of the way, as they are more sustainable to breaking apart.
In this case, it was milk that did the damage, in our case, it was akamu, which is even more thicker than milk and we survived it. Infant mortality rates in Africa are significantly higher than western nations so how can they be classed as more 'rugged'? Rates of stunting are higher in Africa than in western nations. Life expectancy is lower in Africa in western nations. The facts are that parental habits in Nigeria are simply not good enough. Rather than listen to healthcare professionals some people prefer to listen to the fools from their village who raised malnourished, stunted babies. Please stop relying on foolish sentiment and learn to embrace reason. |

If you're travelling out of this country be ready to adopt the system prevalent in such environment rather than forcing your 'culture' on them (My advice). This should be a reminder that many of the parental habits practised in Nigeria are simply wrong. There's too much force and too much impatience when it comes to Nigerians and child rearing. |

I really don't know how to put it to you, so I don't sound out of line, but I will just let you know that it is one thing to go astray, but entirely a different thing to encourage people to feel comfortable in doing the wrong things.
This site is helping to erode the morals of the young minds here. This is a faceless forum, and as such, even children could be members and read all these stuff we write here.
With all due respect, Seun, you're someone of influence, someone a lot of people here look up to, and I think you're using that influence negatively. What do you think a young mind who is growing up would feel, reading your statement as it concerns masturbation? Would you encourage your kids to indulge in masturbation? Do you know how this can effect their mental and psychological state?
I am of the opinion that you should minimise the way you present some sensitive issues, especially when it has to do with morality.
No disrespect intended. Why is masturbation 'immoral'? Who/What is harmed by the act? |

An example : If God exists or prayer works, Nigeria is the most spiritual and most God loving country in the world, Why isn't Nigeria greater than the most sinful, most evil, most corrupt country in the world (USA)?? I have an even better example than the USA - China. China is on the path to regaining the position that it held as the world's largest economy 200 years ago and yet China's Communist Party is a proudly atheist organization. The Chinese Communist Party's official stance on religion can be summarized as thus - religious belief and party membership are incompatible. Even before the Communist party's introduction in China, the country had a history of maltreating xtians and Muslims - a trend that continues to this day. Why would the all-singing, all-dancing Abrahamic god allow for his sheep to be so mistreated and for their abusers to prosper as is the case with China? China has never been a xtian nation. China has never been an Islamic nation and yet it has prospered whilst the nations that claim those religions have faltered. Can any of the many misguided Nigerian xtians or useless Islamists explain why China is succeeding where countries obsessed with religion such as Nigeria are not? A nation in which the states/FG waste money on pilgrimages; build pointless national mosques/ecumenical center(s) before building a national library in the capital; and have political leaders who ensure that they are 'snapped' praying and even waste time before meetings talking to the sky? |

Acidosis: Rightly said:
Generational curses are real.
In some families, it is uncontrollable anger. Theft runs in some families. To some, it is late marriage (does it mean all the female and male in the family smell badly, illiterates and mannerless?). In some families, their men don't live beyond certain age.
There are many people today who are living under bondage that the sins of their forefathers has brought them under.
You remember the death of students in ALUU? Truth is that those guys (and their children) will pay for their sins. When that happens (perhaps through a deadly accident or strange illness), an atheist would most likely blame the poor health care facility or reckless driving.
Don't bother arguing, some things are beyond the physical and unless one believe the spiritual facet of life, it would be hard to understand all you've said.
Even if you won't believe in God's creation through Adam and Eve, and the curses placed on humanity, at least believe in something: maybe Karma, Give and Take Theory.
If you don't believe that, take a stone, throw it to the sky...and watch it come back to you. That's an elementary explanation. If you plant wheat, won't you and your children eat from it? So who will eat the evil you plant? god of atheist? Why do you people forever run and hide behind irrational theories to explain the events of this world? |

omofunaab: I really don't like the idea of any stupid alliance with anybody.
History has shown that ,the only time we progressed more was when we concentrated more on our region .
Political alignments is just the coming together of power seeking politicians that wants power at the top.
It doesn't favor the people. .what will favor the people is regional integration.
We don't want the situation whereby our politicians will go to abuja and they will return by telling us buhari gave us identity, we are the south west, we don't celebrate identity over developments like some will do.
The agitation should be restructuring. We felt we could gain more and consolidate on our achievements by aligning with the center , which was okay. But we lost out in giving lagos a special status despite Nigeria making the core of it's non oil revenue in south west states of Lagos and ogun.
Yes we lost out on that, but that's politics, Now we need to re strategise but seeking political alliance with other regions shouldn't be our priority now.
Instead we should go back to our age long agitation, which is restructuring. That's the only way to diversification and that's what will benefit the south west people You will need a coalition to get the restructuring that we all desire. To get anything meaningful done you must be able to trust other human beings, you must be willing able to form alliances. |
