analice107:It is what you are displaying now - a lack of knowledge. Stop waylaying the thread. |
analice107:Do you even know the meaning of the word 'ignorance'? |
I'm sure you are all aware of how obsessed Nigerian women are with the church and activities pertaining to the church. This connection seems to remain steadfast despite many of them labelling themselves 'feminists' or at least being advocates for a more equitable society. How does one claim to be an advocate for equality whilst being a member of the Catholic Church whose entire elite ranks consist of men? Why is a book that states "Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says." (1 Cor 14:34) still taken seriously by anyone, least of all women? And lest anyone think this is a one off message it is repeated: "Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression." (1 Timothy 2:11-14) Misogyny is a common theme throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelations, and yet somehow we have presumably sane people claiming that this book of hatred and division was inspired by an all-knowing, all-loving, all-powerful deity. Despite the hatred that the authors of this book had for women it is often they who are the most enthusiastic proponents of the Bible and the various churches, in fact women are the majority of church members globally. My question is therefore is thus, how do we get young women to see sense so that they do not poison another generation with the curse of misinformation and willful ignorance? P.S. It goes without saying that Islam is even worse but their wahalah is something else. Many mosques won't even allow women entry during prayers. |
You know why. It's fraudulent. But let the xtians answer. I can't wait to hear how they will spin this. |
adjoviomole:The OP did not make reference to evolution. Why are you afraid to deal with the issue raised? |
These people can lie. |
Freegift75:It is only difficult to govern because some people are intent on managing a very diverse nation within a unitary framework instead of making use of a federal system. The better states in Nigeria have learned to be progressive whilst the others are dependent on the resources of 9. |
Take the woman to court if the evidence is there. I've never wanted to hear anything she has to say. I see no reason why the wife of a president or former president should have such a prominent position. |
What favors has Brown Ideye performed for him to keep being selected? |
First act would be to excise the far North. Second act would be to try and execute anyone who was part of a military government/coup. Instill a new constitution but ensure section 10 of the current constitution is retained and enforced - no Sharia law as state law. Those states that wish otherwise would be excised from the union. Build a network of highways and railways that cross the nation. Build a deep sea port in the south eastern corner of the nation. Impose a tax on religious bodies of 90%. That money would be used to fund a network of libraries and information technology learning centers. Pass a law banning those who are functionally illiterate from wasting their time in religious houses. Ensure that reproductive health is taught to every child from the age of 10. Take a credible census using biometric data. Make land registry a matter of national security. |
Why do these people waste their time defending people who don't even know that they exist? Let this woman fight her own battles, let her explain how she acquired 30 million dollars. |
This is why Nigeria needs to do away with all of these road side eateries. You can slowly introduce a license system but to allow any and everyone to sell food without hygiene checks is reckless. Same goes for all those illegal housing settlements that are built with no regard for safety or healthcare - they too provide safe haven for disease and illness. |
It was $31 million just a few days ago. Why are these media outfits constantly changing the numbers without explanation? |
Thank you for this question OP and for reaffirming how offensive the Bible is to human intelligence. |
All these fake Muslims, they use their religion as a political tool to handicap Nigeria but ignore it in their personal lives. |
INTROVERT:It's what the foolish electorate voted for. They wanted 'Sai Buhari', let them 'enjoy'. |
pedel:It's not the same, it's worse. Especially with Buhari at the helm. They have no idea when it comes to private enterprise and economic growth. Look at every minister in this administration and tell me which of them is better than their predecessor? |
Plato and the Creation of the Hebrew Bible, from academic publisher Routledge Press, proposes a provocative new theory regarding when, where and why the Old Testament was written. According to the author, Russell Gmirkin, the idea for the earliest Bible came out of Plato’s Laws, which proposed a new form of government with divinely inspired laws and a carefully approved ethical national literature. Plato said that if the ruling class of priests and educators could persuade the populace that their new laws and literature were both ancient and inspired, the new nation could last forever. Gmirkin’s book proposes that the Jewish nation and its Bible were the first and only implementation of Plato’s Laws in antiquity. Russell Gmirkin, a biblical scholar and lecturer living in Portland, OR, has written extensively on the biblical use of Greek sources from the Great Library of Alexandria. Gmirkin’s 2006 book called Berossus and Genesis, Manetho and Exodus is listed by Logos Bible Software as one of the ten most important recent books on the Pentateuch. In that study, Gmirkin presented evidence that the Books of Moses were written by Jewish scholars around 270 BC at the Great Library of Alexandria in Egypt using various Greek sources found there. His new book identifies Plato’s writings as the most important of those Greek sources and the inspiration for Jewish monotheism, theocracy, and divine laws. Gmirkin systematically compares biblical, Greek and Ancient Near Eastern laws for the first time, showing that the Mosaic laws and constitution often most closely resemble those of Athens and those found in Plato’s Laws in particular. As Gmirkin notes, “Jewish, Christian and pagan authors since ancient times commented on the close relationship between the Bible and Plato’s writings. Both contained similar ideas about a single supreme creator God, divine laws, universal education using inspired texts, national rule under priestly guidance, and even the division of the nation into twelve tribes. It is now becoming clear that the Bible’s authors borrowed these ideas from Plato.” http://religionnews.com/2016/09/21/new-book-claims-the-old-testament-drew-extensively-on-platos-writings/ |
This dummy screenshot his email? He's asking for trouble. |
So it's only now that they realise they didn't know what they were doing? |
Police play by their own crooked rules and that isn't just Nigeria, that is a global problem. When individuals are handed undue levels of power they will inevitably abuse that power. |
You're wasting more on recurrent expenditure than any government in Nigerian history but somehow convincing yourself that you will stop the waste and change the direction of the economy? This man becomes more delusional with every passing day. |
yrret:Why would they vote to cut down their own salaries? It's quite clear that they are not concerned with the opinion of the electorate and nor should they be - it is evident that Nigerian voters have very bad memories (hence voting for Buhari) and no common sense (hence believing the various APC lies). There is no pressure on them to do right by the wider Nigerian population and until Nigerians stop being distracted by religion and linguistic differences this will continue. |
tintingz:It's amazing the number of times women will use this as a reason for joining a religion. Becoming religious does not erase your past deeds. |
Didn't tell me anything I wasn't already aware of. Buhari is a disaster and was always going to be. |
Is that a homosexual pastor because I saw two men in that bedroom picture. |
Bolustic:People don't have any problem with good news from within any corner of Nigeria, it's only when lies are told such as the North being shortchanged by their 'leaders'. That in itself is lazy and irrational thinking. Just as Boko Haram members come from the Northern Muslim populace the leaders are also drawn from amongst the Northern peoples, raised by Northerners, in the Northern fashion and therefore are a fair reflection of Northern society. If there are clear societal and cultural failings then they need be addressed but there is no difference between the Northern masses and the Northern criminal elite. The one does not exist without the other. |
Languages are a medium of exchange and therefore only exist so long as they are of use. You cannot revive a dead or dying language. Latin is taught in schools and universities world wide but no one is using it as a common medium of exchange. |
You should work to live, not live to work. Unless you work for yourself in which case your job is your life's work and your legacy. You can pass on your business to your family but your job is non-transferable. |
Some people's lies are too much. If that guy in the picture is really claiming to be 23 then they should deport him for travelling on false papers. |
If this known crook were still alive there are some people in Nigeria who would be shouting Sai Abacha instead of Sai Buhari. And then they wonder why they wallow in poverty... |
prettyjo:Forgive him for what? He didn't commit any crime. The person responsible for this mess is the lying mother who decided that the daughter didn't need to have a relationship with her biological father. |
