Sall: How are you sure Senegal is better than the north. Senegal doesn't deal with the nonsensical Islamic violence that flares up in the North. People talk about Boko Haram as if it were an anomaly, the fact is that violence in the North is part of the culture. Maternal death rates are higher in the North. Fistula is more prevalent in North. And the North only just now dealt with polio - one of only three countries still battling the disease in 2014 (along with Pakistan and Afghanistan). |

Ikwokrikwo: We can now see why the north doesn't want to let go of Niger delta oil, even their so called agriculture is HEAVILY dependent on oil money.
Building and maintenance of irrigation dams - oil money. Provision of subsidised fertilizers - oil money. Provision of machineries - oil money. Distribution of improved seedlings - oil money. Financial grants and loans to farmers - oil money.
The north will just be another Senegal or Niger republic without oil money to sustain its agriculture Senegal is much better than the North today. Life expectancy and literacy levels in the North are amongst the worst in the world. Without Niger Delta oil the North would resemble the Central African Republic. |

19naia: Ah ok, i was not so sure where all their rice comes from but i know they have good prices and grow a significant amount to keep themselves filled as well as manage a market flow of surplus (be it import or local). They do really well in Agriculture for their size and stature in Africa, no doubt about that. The Key is that they "do it" . Nigeria as well should just "do it" beyond talk. Grow more crops. Populatin is growing but crops are not. Not a good recipe for people's kitchens. They don't grow more than Nigeria proportionally. If anything it's less. What they've done is lower tariffs so that it's cheaper to import into Cotonou than Lagos. Also, a lot of Nigerians are there hoarding rice to sell when the prices are high across the border. |

irunooboo: This is what we keep telling the igbos and the SS people who keep saying the north has no economic importance in nigeria. If they cut off the food supplies and everyone dies of hunger, of what benefit will the oil in Niger Delta Be? Will you drink oil? Remember the Igbos lost the biafra war due to the brilliant starvation policy of Awolowo. ojukwu had to run to ivory coast when it's obvious he has lost the war and his people were dying of hunger. This is why we say no to the evil terrorist Nnamdi kanu and his recent biafra agitations cos no one wants a repeat of what happened in the late 60's. Every region in Nigeria is important economically except the southeast due to their limited resources and erosion ravaged lands. God bless Nigeria, Say no to Biafra. If the South-East is economically useless (as you claim) then why would you not want Biafra so that they can go their own way and stop being 'parasites'? Better still, if the North can take care of itself why do they not go their own way? |

19naia: Agbaya is the word coming to mind when i hear this description of Nigeria the economic giant. Giant for what . Tiny litle Benin republic who begs Nigeria like a child, can grow rice to so much excess that it is cheap and abundant for export without breaking their own domestic pantry. Small Benin republic can supply electricity and tap water to it's citizens in the cities and more.
How is Nigeria The Giant of Africa unless as the shameless Agbaiya who is big for nothing.
Grow up and grow your own rice well and the many other things needed. Nigeria has huge potential but its not by standing around tall for showing off how big you are without bending low into the dirt and bringing up some crops and sufficient productivity for domestic needs. Niara will never be a strong currency if the people dont use their strength for domestic productivity and stop relying on the strength of other countries to import into Nigeria. Na baby cannot feed himself waiting for mama or baba to come and feed him. Baby is no giant of africa, it is agbaiya of africa. Benin Republic imports a lot of rice. That rice is then smuggled into Nigeria. Smuggling goods into Nigeria is why a lot of goods are imported into Benin Republic. They don't grow much either. Most farming there is subsistence in nature. |

What could be the reasons why many successive administrations has refuse to embrace true federalism since from all indication its the fastest and a sure route to making Nigeria great again... Are they afraid that the centre might fall and Abuja and Lagos be deserted? Lagos will be fine - that is a state that generates a decent amount of money on its own to support its needs and can borrow on the international markets if need be. I'd be more concerned for a place like Kano that has a huge population and dwindling industry. How will they cope without free oil money? |

Culture › Re: Ghanaians Are The Most Patriotic Africans! by mmsen: 3:05pm On Jun 12, 2016 |
Patriotism should be measured by what you spend your money on and how you spend your time.
If you spend your money on imported goods when there are equally good local products; wear imported clothes (such as the impractical three-piece suit) as opposed to native dress; consume news from CNN and BBC instead of local news outlets; support whoever is big in Europe instead of local football teams; wear weave instead of plaits; and spend your life dreaming of living abroad then you are not a patriot.
When you measure those three indices then you will be able to assess who is truly a patriot. |

Beamborla: Yes, you can. When you are spirit filled. Even when the flesh sets in, you'd be able to quickly realize your mistake and make amendment
I believe that part of the Bible is there for our own good. From lustful staring to wanting, should she reject such advances, it could lead to rape.
Our problem is we always want to rely on common sense and human nature. The Bible clearly told us not to rely on our own understanding What is 'spirit filled'? How does one become spirit filled? Name me some well known 'spirit filled' people. Thanks. |

Edifyer: Yes is a Major sin and some Muslims do funicate but is it not as rampant as it is in Christianity as they turn that as a nomal life.. You can never find a Muslim staying together with a woman for days, weeks, years in his place unmarried. Beside if Muslims are doing it does that make it right? Is that a justification for to do it? And the the Subject is WHY DO CHRISTAINS STILL FORNICATE Muslims don't 'fornicate' as frequently because they purchase children to violate and call it 'marriage'. Which is worse, a man who meets a grown woman with whom he has sex. This grown woman has been taught about sexual reproduction and contraceptives and as such is in a position to protect herself from disease and unwanted pregnancy. As opposed to the (northern) Muslim man who buys a child from a poor family, violates her repeatedly; impregnates the poor child; and then abandons her on the street, probably to a life plagued by fistula? Is the latter better than the former? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Christians Still Fornicate After Knowing It's A Serious Sin? by mmsen: 12:28pm On Jun 12, 2016 |
Beamborla: This is why I keep asking people that if God is to judge us according to his standards for real, will anyone make heaven?
Remember, sexual immorality is not limited to sexual act alone, staring lustfully at someone amounts to sexual immorality.
However, it's time we stopped blaming pastors for not preaching this or that. The Bible is there and it's written in English. We can always refer to the Bible because in the end, it's not between you and your pastor, it's between you and God. You cannot stop someone from looking at another with feelings of lust. This is one of the many examples that prove how retarded the Bible truly is. So much of what is written in that book runs counter to common sense and basic human nature. |
