If you're in Lagos and you need a phone and/or accessories go to DSCL.

There's a branch on Adeola Odeku and another in Computer Village.

Very reliable/reputable. I've bought a number of devices from them, never a problem.

u r obviously a Gej apologist.
With oil selling above $100 pb, we borrowed more. Spent more without relative improvement in our infrastucture.
Rickety ancient locomotives that run on coal. Is that what u call railway? Roads, please name just five roads construted by Gej in 6 yrs. If u refer to rebasing as an achievement, then this arguement is useless.
His is the first administration in a generation that saw the need to measure the actual economy.

Saw the need to build rail lines. Ensured that Lagos got the financing needed for the commuter rail system that the city needs and that Buhari put and end to in the 80s.

Wasn't Amaechi trying to take credit for the rail that he claimed didn't exist only a few months back?

The previous administration built almajiri schools and universities. Ensured that rule of law and press freedom prevailed.

The previous administration had high calibre, high performing cabinet members such as the minister of finance and the minster of agriculture. Compare them to their successors if you dare.

Look at what Nigeria was in 2014 and what it is now and tell me that things are better.

are u trying to tell me dat Gej made naija d largest economy in Africa? Its obvious u did not understand what happened.
What simply happened during Gej's tenure was simply a rebasing of d economy to capture areas that were not previously captured when it was last rebased. Areas like the entertainment sector(ie Nollywood),banking sector etc.
The last time our economy was rebased was more than 20years ago. It was Gej dat made us d largest economy.
What did u think Gej did to make us d largest economy in Africa?
Did any of his predecessors have the sense to measure the size of the economy?

Under GEJ Nigeria was the no. 1 investment hub in Africa. Meanwhile under GMB...

Year on year economic growth, a decrease in the poverty rate.

GEJ's government removed subsidies and the fools rioted. Under GMB fuel shortages.

GEJ did not leave Nigeria in a poorer state by any measure - only the north which is intent on destroying itself went backwards, even with the roads and revived rail links.

Africa and it's backward mentality. If you are rich, you don't need to flaunt it. Yet to see dangote or bill gate snap pics with bales of money or gold plated stuffs beside them. This senator and davido are mentally age mate, but physiologicaly the senator is older. Mr senator goes about wearing 4 golden rings at a time! Davido abeg I apologise, you are more matured than him.
You mentioned Dangote as if he is no longer African.

There are a lot of people in Africa with money who manage to enjoy their lives without being tacky and ostentatiousness is not particular to any one region - Arab princes are just as shameless, likewise useless scions of business all over the world.
Politics › Re: Top Benefits Of Buhari's Foreign Trips Thus Far by mmsen:
China would do business with Nigeria, irregardless of Buhari.

The Americans need to buy crude from somewhere because their shale oil is currently economically unviable.

What of his failure to stick even one of his promises?

What happened to dollar parity?

What happened to 24 hour power supply? Why is power generation at its lowest rate in years?

Didn't this man promise to stabilize the price of crude? End the menace that is Boko Haram?

When he suggested that poor Nigerians be paid 5,000 per month for nothing, people said it's a bad idea. Why is it only now, after the elections, that he has suddenly realized that it was a terrible idea? Why is his judgment not being questioned?

Why is he being let off the hook by cowards?

Pinnick took the game to Kaduna because the NFF is broke. The Akwa Ibom govt didn't offer to host the match, that's why the FA didn't look at the Uyo stadium.
What's wrong with Abuja? Calabar? Port Harcourt? At least in those places the facilities are decent and you won't have the problem of people fighting security to risk their lives and overcrowd the stadium.
Sports › Re: It’s Foreign Coach Or I Quit – Pinnick by mmsen: 1:12am On Apr 01, 2016
quickly:
Did they not hire BErti Vogts who won Euro 2000 with Germany. He ran after one month.

Next thing they will want a coach that lives in Nigeria

Plus all the insecurity
Berti Vogts did not win Euro 2000 with Germany - Euro 2000 was their worst ever tournament performance.

He has been a failure as a coach for the past 16 years, hence why a man with his experience is now working as Jurgen Klinnsman's assistant - no one will trust him to manage a team. He was dreadful with Kuwait, a disaster with Scotland and just as bad with Nigeria.

Nigerians have to stop looking for silly shortcuts, thinking that a foreign messiah will come and resolve the ineptitude of the NFF is foolish. Until Nigerians come to understand the need to invest in human capital, players and coaches, this Pinnick disaster will be a reoccurring event.

Let Pinnick go. He's been useless.
Sports › Re: It’s Foreign Coach Or I Quit – Pinnick by mmsen: 4:42pm On Mar 31, 2016
dayowunmi:
Foreign coach means nothing jor. What spectacular thing did Lars Lagerback achieve with the eagles at the 2010 world cup? Granted, some of them have been successful like herve renard who won the afcon for Zambia, Stephen keshi also won the afcon with us, so what can a foreign coach do that a naija bred coach can't do. Our under 17 world cups titles were also won by indigenous coaches. I have nothing against foreign coaches but I think it's not necessary.
It's a waste of resources hiring a foreign coach. Most of these foreign coaches are useless - they wouldn't be hired in Europe so they come to Africa to leach from African football.

It doesn't help that this fool keeps taking the team to Kaduna, even after the former captain and one of the most dedicated players in Super Eagles history (as well as the then coach) pointed out that the facilities are substandard. This time around there were more problems, two players fell ill.

There's a world class stadium in Abuja and another in Uyo. Even the facilities in Port Harcourt are superior to those in Kaduna so what is the obsession with playing there?

On who's interest to devalue? Rather than returning our loot stored in different banks in US to develop our economy, the US is pressing for killing the naira.

US come and buy oil from us not devaluation!
Nigerian oil exports to the US are at their highest rate for three years.

If they are so concerned with the plight of these children why do they not do more to ensure that they don't have to leave the north-east in the first place? Is it not their religious dogma that has lead to their displacement?

I still have no clue why the Super Eagles are playing in Kaduna. The last time the team played there Enyeama told the truth about the ground and training facilities, as did others.

There's a great stadium in Abuja, another one in Uyo and superior facilities in Calabar - what is in Kaduna that they keep forcing the team to go there?

Travel › Re: Why Nigerians Prefer To Live Abroad by mmsen:
RichYoungNigga:
The reasons Why we Nigerians live abroad are.
1. We want uninterrupted electricity ( For 10 years now, i haven't seen electricity go off for just 2 minutes)
2. We won't be treated differently because we are poor or not so rich.
3. The police don't manhandle us
4. Good roads (I haven't seen a gutter or an open rain drainage in 10 years)
5. Human Rights (We can take Bill Gates, Rick Ross to court and still win) can you take Dangote to court in Nigeria and win your case ??
6. There is law and orderliness (You can use a siren or get preferential treatment because you're rich) you must obey the law or you pay heavily.
7. Free education(no ASUU strike) and health care.
8.We make good money (A janitor, Bus driver earns what a Nigerian bank manager earn in one month in just 2 weeks

9. Everything works.
10. Life is good
People all over the world are treated differently according to status/wealth - if you think that you will be treated like Oprah Winfrey when you work as a teacher then you are moronic.

The judicial system everywhere works for the benefit of those with means - to expect that you will receive the same level of justice or care as when an immigrant laborer as someone with political or economic clout is incredibly naive. If you genuinely believe that then I suggest that you read up on Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan - both of whom have been involved in numerous crimes, including drug offences but somehow avoided jail time.

The judicial system is loaded with prejudice and bias - class, race, status, gender, appearance all play into what kind of judgment a defendant will receive. Judges are not robots, they're raised in the same cesspool of bigotry and prejudice as the rest of society. As a result they are not above making foolish judgments based on preconceived notions.

You may feel like you make 'good money' as a janitor but your quality of life will be poor because a significant percentage of your wages will be spent trying to keep the lights on and a roof over your head - I notice that many immigrants are remarkably stupid when it comes to getting excited over wages. The money you will receive in these minimum wage positions is enough to buy food and maybe just enough for a portion of your rent in the big cities - you will not be living well by any stretch of the imagination. Also, quality healthcare is never free, in most nations you will require health insurance.

And the police most certainly can and do harass private individuals. People are pulled over for driving while black, at will. That's not just in America, it happens in Switzerland and other parts of Europe. And if you live in a horrible part of town then your interactions with the police will increase in frequency.

It's clear that many of you possess a completely unrealistic, romanticized vision of foreign nations and have no clue what it takes to build a nation to be proud of hence the obsession with acquiring visas to unknown climes - countries with their own internal problems, prejudices and cultural nuances of which most of you are ignorant. The worst of you are the characters who decide that your life in your home country is so awful that it's better to overstay on your tourist or student visa than to return home and strive to improve your life and add to your nation's well-being.
Politics › Re: FG To Stabilise Economy With N350bn by mmsen: 9:07am On Mar 23, 2016
freeze001:
Will this piecemeal release of what appears to be 'bailout' funds be feasible in the long run? Are they going to continue like this? What is in place or has been resolved to get the economy function optimally without the need for these government interventions?

What is needed is structural rather than cosmetic reform. Asking for guarantee from contractors as regards how many people they will be re-engaged before the release of the funds is laughable.

Should we say the government is now resorting to bribing contractors to engage people? That should be something that flows naturally when necessary infrastructure are in place with a conducive environment for business. If the FG owes contractors then pay them and don't make it contingent on how many people they will re-engage. The emphasis should be on timely delivery of high quality contract projects which will serve members of the public.
You should know by now that this government has no idea how an economy works. That was plain from the beginning when they were promising to 'stabilize the price of oil'; to make the naira equal to the dollar; to create the millions of jobs that they farcically claimed that they would on entering government; or when they lied that they provide 5,000 per month for the poor.
