24 is far too young to me married.

Is the girl already pregnant?

Is that why he feels compelled to marry her?

Enyeama is significantly better.

Nonetheless, glad to see him doing well.

It's funny how you remain bitter as an Atheist. It would be better you face the discourse at hand. You could engage me the next time I stroll through the religion section, possibly this evening. Regardless, you need not sound bitter or angry to push your belief on otherssmiley
All I've done is ask questions.

If you feel that I've said something untrue then please enlighten me with your wisdom.

Solve it together? Howhuh The truth is, we are blinded by greed and often times care less about how the man next door feels because we're gaining and taking advantage of the present moment. Only God can soften the heart to make our people sensitive in harsh times as this.
Which 'god'? The one who flooded the entire world? Or the one who told Muhammad that no two religions should exist (in Arabia) and so prompted him to go on a killing spree?

Or maybe you speak of the god whose only solution to 'sin' was the public execution of his 'only begotten son'?

The only thing that is softened by belief in god are human minds.

Sometimes I wonder what church has got to do with owning universities... The funny thing is that they're all expensive and not even one - third of deir members can afford it.
Even the secondary school here in Benin is so expensive....

# am not hating.
Churches open schools so why would they not open universities?

Religious organizations have a tendency to amass enormous amounts of wealth as a result of fleecing their gullible sheep, while I detest them as a whole this is one of the better things to do with the money.

Before these Arabs give Buhari and co. any money they might want to investigate what happened to all the federal allocation that these guys hawe swallowed over the years.

They should also investigate what Buhari and friends did with the PTF money.

Then they should ask why there are to reliable census figures in the North.

Giving these people money without accountability will only lead to more of the same.

Galileo was a Catholic till death. Try again.

Charity has little or nothing to do with wealth. St Maximillian Kolbe gave his life for a stranger in Auschwitz concentration camp. He didn't do that charity with money or for money. He did it for love. Love that your bitter empty self cannot fathom. Mother Teresa gave up everything to help the poor, derided and abandoned. She even had to fight her superiors to allow her do it fully. She had zero money to start with and zero money in the end. There are millions of examples.
Where did I say anything about Galileo's faith? Please do not intentionally misread what I write. I notice it is a preferred tactic of yours to avoid the truth.

(April 12)On this day in 1633, chief inquisitor Father Vincenzo Maculano da Firenzuola, appointed by Pope Urban VIII,begins the inquisition of physicist and astronomer Galileo Galilei. Galileo was ordered to turn himself in to the Holy Office to begin trial for holding the belief that the Earth revolves around the Sun, which was deemed heretical by the Catholic Church. Standard practice demanded that the accused be imprisoned and secluded during the trial.

Galileo agreed not to teach the heresy anymore and spent the rest of his life under house arrest. It took more than 300 years for the Church to admit that Galileo was right and to clear his name of heresy.

As to Mother Theresa, I dare you to read 'The Missionary Position: Mother Theresa In Theory and Practice' by Christopher Hitchens:

As editor of The Lancet, perhaps the world's leading medical journal, Dr Fox was professionally interested in, and qualified to pronounce upon, the standards of care. The opening paragraphs of his report in the journal's 17 September 1994 issue also make it clear that he paid his visit with every expectation of being favourably impressed. Indeed, his tone of slightly raised-eyebrow politeness never deserts him:

"I saw a young man who had been admitted in poor shape with high fever, and the drugs prescribed had been tetracycline and paracetamol. Later a visiting doctor diagnosed probable malaria and substituted chloroquine. Could not someone have looked at a blood film? Investigations, I was told, are seldom permissible. How about simple algorithms that might help the sisters and volunteers distinguish the curable from the incurable? Again no. Such systematic approaches are alien to the ethos of the home. Mother Teresa prefers providence to planning; her rules are designed to prevent any drift towards materialism: the sisters must remain on equal terms with the poor . . . . Finally, how competent are the sisters at managing pain? On a short visit, I could not judge the power of their spiritual approach, but I was disturbed to learn that the formulary includes no strong anal
gesics. Along with the neglect of diagnosis, the lack of good analgesia marks Mother Teresa's approach as clearly separate from the hospice movement. I know which I prefer."

Bear in mind that Mother Teresa's global income is more than enough to outfit several first-class clinics in Bengal. The decision not to do so, and indeed to run instead a haphazard and cranky institution which would expose itself to litigation and protest were it run by any branch of the medical profession, is a deliberate one. The point is not the honest relief of suffering but the promulgation of a cult based on death and suffering and subjection. Mother Teresa (who herself, it should be noted, has checked into some of the finest and costliest clinics and hospitals in the West during her bouts with heart trouble and old age) once gave this game away in a filmed interview. She described a person who was in the last agonies of cancer and suffering unbearable pain. With a smile, Mother Teresa told the camera what she told this terminal patient: ' You are suffering like Christ on the cross. So Jesus must be kissing you.'

I see with your introduction of a single Catholic friar into the equation that you choose to ignore the overriding behavior of the mother church whose dogma helped to stoke the flames of anti-Semitism for centuries and who benefited financially at the expense of the persecuted Jews during the Holocaust. For which I point back to my initial metaphor of a carjacker stealing a vehicle at gun point, then giving the victim some loose change for a bus journey home - that is the Catholic Church, in essence.

After 52 posts, only plaetton has has been able to say that atheism gives us philosophies (that he can't specify or mention)
Atheism is not a body of work or a collection of books, fairytales or even a creed. It is the absence of belief in the numerous mythical gods that mankind has created.

Many people who have not bought into the lie of religion (some of whom have been forced to bow to the power of the church in order to access their vast resources) have dedicated their lives to finding out about the world, hence why we have modern health care and other scientific discoveries that the church has deemed heretical (Galileo for example).

The Catholic Church is one of the world's wealthiest organizations - giving something back to the sheep that they loot every week by way of emotional robbery is not something that should be praised. What they do is akin to a serial carjacker giving one chosen victim bus fare to get home.

I don't talk like that. I just say that Atheism has nothing to offer humanity but bitterness, emptiness and destruction. While the Catholic Church offers health care, education, various forms of help to people in need, including atheists.

It's not "one of the..." It's the biggest charity organization in the world. Do you have proof of fraud...or you're just jealous that some humans love to do good while you sit in emptiness and bitterness.

No proof. Envious hater trying hard to discredit good works done for humanity because he and his fellow atheists can't do it.

It's funny how Italo keeps talking about 'Atheism' as though it is a body in the manner of the Catholic Church.

To be an atheist is to deny the theory of god/gods.

As to the comment about the Catholic Church being one of the world's biggest charities - the charitable sector is one of the best ways of perpetuating fraud.

The Catholic Church has its own bank through which it has laundered mafia proceeds - money made from prostitution, gambling, illicit drugs and other vices that the mother church likes to preach against.
