Flytefalls: I need an anonymous place to restore my sanity from the drama this religion brings to my life periodically.
I'm not an ex JW, I have never been a JW, but even now I am having to deal with the everlasting effects of my mother's disfellowship approximately 20 years ago.
Are there any former JW's, or JW non-baptised escapees, or even those still trapped inside 'the truth' who feel disillusioned here on NL? For myself and my mother, I have questions. Does your mother still retain her 'faith' despite her disfellowship? What caused her to be cast aside by the JWs? |

lazsnaira: Anyway, with what akwa ibom is receiving, which is more than what is given to three states in the south east, if our leaders are not thieves, akwa ibom state is supposed by now to be at par with lagos or Jo'burg. No, that is a nonsensical statement. AKS was a neglected region for decades. Ikot Ekpene and Uyo were essentially villages until relatively recently. There was too great of an infrastructure deficit (a common problem throughout Nigeria) to expect those kind of results. You have to remember that the are not building on inhabited land. Also, the allocation that you talk about is a recent thing (2011), many of the oil wells that AKS has used to belong to CRS. From what I have seen they have always had great plans in AKS and CRS, it's just a question on how much is available. In time Nigeria will get there but to expect to go from 0 to 200 mph in such a short space of time is illogical. |

I'm not a religious man but I will ask anyway.
Is it necessary to kneel to pray in public? Is it necessary to draw attention to yourself in public so that everyone knows that you are praying?
Did Jesus not admonish the Pharisees who made a show and dance of praying in public? |

ASHLAND: I support your comment; that is how it is done in many developed country. I have being thinking the same as the best solution to solve Nigeria's power problem. In addition to that, many energy production company should be licensed to build power plant, generate the power, and sell it to distributors - grid. If that could happened, Nigeria would generate energy more than needed, there would be competition in energy cost to distributors, and energy cost will as well fall just like cell phone service cost. What you have described is what I believe was the intention behind the privatization of PHCN. We shall see how it pans out over the coming years. |

Children are a responsibility and many people are not prepared for such.

MrsChima: You need to articulate better if you want us to understand you better. You added the last paragraph after I have responded to your post Instead of being an asshole and questioning reader's comprehension skills..you need to first make all of your points instead adding after people have responded.
I have responded to your original statement which was on point!
If you have issues accepting it then that is not my issue. Now you are lying - I didn't add or alter anything. Either you cannot read or you did not read it properly. What I wrote was very clear and very concise. It's not a difficult concept, like I said, your reading comprehension might not be up to scratch. You used the word 'choice' and I used the word 'may' but you simply repeated what I said whilst claiming to say something different. Just accept that you were in a rush to argue a non-existent point. |

MrsChima: Feminism is about women have the right to choose to do what they want in life. It is not focusing on surname and that other shit people ranting about.
That's the difference. I suggest you don't argue for the sake of it as well. Where did I say that was all feminism was about? Your reading comprehension skills are atrocious if that is what you took from my comment. The question was about surnames. The reason why feminists argue for double-barrelled names is because they believe that women should not be forced to lose their own identity - that is a choice that should be available to married women. If you re-read what I wrote you will see how silly you have been. |

micktoxin: One questions for the experts. Are Niger deltas etc(South south) part of Igbo? Otherwise, without the South south, Igbo will be worse off in the short to medium term. This situtation is similar to BREXIT, as in Nigeria is a bigger market for IGBOs just like EU is to britain. The Niger Delta is different from Igboland. I really do not understand why there is any division in the south of Nigeria, besides petty linguistic differences their goals and aims seem awfully similar. |

obailala: There are several reasons why a project may not be completed on time, one of them being that the client hasn't released complete funds. Going back to the start of this project, I remember it was mentioned that the cinema would be completed in the first phase. Hence the already completed and functioning cinema. Now we still await the completion of other phases but you are already so sure the contractor is responsible for the delay.
I ask and I ask again, why are you so sure the funds for the entire project has been released?... We are not sure if the complete project funds has been released yet you are already so sure Ben Bruce is responsible for the delay. Have I made any statements that the funds have been released? I asked because I do not know. Why do you keep making assumptions? |
Family › Re: New Craze In Town- Ladies Retaining Their Fathers Name After Marriage by mmsen: 6:28pm On May 12, 2015 |
MrsChima: That's incorrect. Feminist stance is that a woman can choose to take her husband's surname or not. The key word is CHOOSE How is what you different from this? "A feminist idea that a woman should be able to retain her identity after marriage." You do your cause no good by arguing for the sake of it. |
Politics › Re: Kayode Ogundamisi Comes After Ben Murray-Bruce by mmsen: 6:22pm On May 12, 2015 |
obailala: OMG! what kind of question is this? ...So how would delaying the project also benefit Ben Bruce?
Why are you hell bent on jumping into the conclusion that it is the contractor delaying the project when you have no facts?... This is even a PDP vs PDP matter so I can't even link your strange premonitions to politics. Or is it because Ben spoke out against corruption therefore you have suddenly found yourself on the defensive?... Interesting!.. Anyone who speaks out against corruption is automatically an enemy that must be framed. I wouldn't be surprised if Ben is frustrated out of PDP for daring to tow a different ideology from the norm.
I suppose it's also the contractor delaying the Ibaka Seaport right? What conclusions? I asked questions. Where have I been defensive? I simply asked how it would benefit Akpabio - this project was started a while ago, the cinema went up quickly so I'm curious why the remainder has been done at such a slow pace by comparison. |
