If you read my post very well, you'll understand what I meant. I didn't say 9-5 is a bad thing or a wrong choice. I'm simply saying that we shouldn't depend on it for survival. Have multiple streams of income. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

You'd see that I mentioned that even some people on 9-5 still have side hustles what does that telk you? That it's very difficult to survive on a salaried employment hence, don't be too dependent on your salary. Learn a skill.

PS: there are more mature ways of objecting to other people's opinions. You mustn't be rude about it. Thanks.
Well, I don't care about your feelings because dumb thinking is one reason why this country rots, and I have no pity for anyone contributing to the rots of this Nation, say the truth or keep quiet.
Yes, we all know entrepreneurs are the richest, but the way your lots open mouth to tell struggling youths to learn a skill when job is mentioned is insulting and baffling, because you do not know the background of many of these people.
Your lots talk as if job is not important, go and read the profiles of many rich people, and you will see at some points in their lives, they were working for someone, earning, and its from there that they had the thoughts of becoming entrepreneurs. Its from there they were able to save, think, plan etc
How can someone who hasn't fed plan to start a business? How can someone without a cloth start a successful business? No, we are not equal, we are from different socioeconomic background, and thus, if the government do what is right, and many of our youths are able to get a job, then definitely, many of the same youths would leave the jobs to establish businesses.

Your lots talk as if people are not already learning skills, because you just want to go against humanity by all means, support your pastor, or support the failed government.

I have been in entrepreneurship for long, I knew what I went through before being able to learn my skills, being able to establish, if not for God's favour, there's no way I could have the skills I have today, but I won't because I have been able to scale through, look down or talk down on people who can't due to reasons beyond their control. I personally know people who struggled to sponsor self in the university, they already have skills, but they just need to work and gather some money to use

Please use your brain or keep quiet, again, I will never respectfully talk with someone who downgrade others just because God has made it easy for him

Thank you...
I will tell you a little story. But I am not particularly talking to you because it's only stealing and fraud that is in your mind. I am talking to those people who are genuinely seeking a way to better their lives in 2021.

You don't have to steal to own a business of your own.

You "must" not pay to learn a skill that's why it's important you build a relationship.

You can stay in your parent's house while you learn the skill because even while looking for a job, you have to still stay under their roof and eat their food.

You can be humble enough to meet people and tell them what you need. I mean you solicit for their support (financially). This is another reason why you have to build cordial relationship with other people (especially with your uncles, aunts and cousins).

Then finally build a relationship with God and Consul Him for every move. And He won't fail you.

Anyone who wants to make it should remove two things from his life

1: sense of entitlement &
2: pride
Mr dumb, not everyone has parents, uncles, Aunties that can help them, some people sweat to send themselves to the university, some parents borrow from banks to pay their children school fees.
Some do not have parents, I personally know a guy that dugged well, cut grasses to pay his school fees and feed his widowed mother. Giving him a job after university would ease his life as he would be able to save enough to start that business
Yes, I know this is how the dumb leaders also think, they should go learn a skill as if its free to learn a skill
Your dumb self also think people don't need money to learn, free training won't give anyone the best knowledge that they will be able to use to establish and make it big, not to talk of there's no free training anywhere except scams.

I'm well skilled in so many areas and I'm talking from experience, for fashion, you need to learn in a good place or else, you will only be destroying customers fabric and thus, high end clients won't come your way
The lady that made the cloth for him, go and make enquiries on how much she learnt and if its for free.
Keep deceiving yourself with your theft business and be claiming millionaire entrepreneur behind the keyboard

Here's the issue with small businesses in Nigeria, they don't know how to scale up, maybe you can build a website helping small businesses to scale rather than being a pessimist. Food for thought
where did you steal money to get the data for free materials on the internet

1. Where did you steal money to build a website?

2.Where did you steal money to rent together to start your yahoo business?
3.Where did you steal money to buy the detergent to wash the cloth?
4. Access to loan? How did you slap the bank manager to steal money from his bank in the name of borrowing?

Well, use your brain, everyone can't be a thief like you, because you stole to acquire illegal fraudulent money and lie to the public that you are an entrepreneur doesn't mean everyone would take that route. Some of us are well trained, and have morals.

Fact is that starting a legal business is not easy especially if one is from disadvantaged family, some of those youths borrowed money to finish university, and getting a job after finishing university would help them in meeting basic needs and if basic needs aren't met, no one could start any business and with that job they will be able to save enough to venture into any business of their choice

Lastly, sell yourself with your illegal money, it doesn't mean you are doing better than myself, I'm just trying to open the dead part of your brain but unfortunately, its long gone because you are a fraudulent zombie. And I'm sure you are still broke after all your illegal dealings, but thanks to social media, everyone is a millionaire behind the keyboard even though you are dieing of hunger where you are

In my opinion, he said the right thing but in a wrong way.
The bitter truth is that the wealthiest and most successful people are those who are self employed, not those on paid jobs. I doubt you would see the name of any employee on the top 20 richest persons. They are all self employed.
Your certificate isn't a guarantee of living a comfortable life, it's your skill that guarantees that provided you do it the right way.

Think about it, even some people who are on a 9-5 still have side hustles, why? Because here in Africa, you can't survive without having multiple streams of income. That's the sad truth.
Education is important, infact, fundamental but learning a skill is essential.

It's funny the way people who are meant to lead just sometimes make things more complicated for people looking up to them..

This is Nigeria FFS!!!
An average graduate you see out there has gone through hell becoming whatever he/she is and before he graduates such has got loads of responsibilities waiting on him.

You want someone whose the parent, society has TAGGED 'Accomplished', who no longer gets pocket money or whatsoever it is called, one who is harshly facing a new life of fending for self and even catering for other responsibilities already to learn a trade...

Please who foots his bill?
Who feeds him during this period?
Who clothes, house and do other petty things for him?

When such manages to scale through, how does he establish such in a country like thishuh

Mention trades you know that the requirements to start up is less than 50k shop/space rent inclusive asides equipments needed...

So many men of God are literally the inverse of the name God.

Peace!
You spoke my mind

FamilyRe: I Am Angry. My Wife Did Not Inform Me That Her Siblings Were Coming Over by ModestGal(f): 6:46am On Dec 24, 2020
T817:
I returned home from my shop only to find my wife 4 siblings in my house I wasn’t happy because she didn’t informed me they were coming over and in this economy when the country is hard why would they come all four of them at the same time. my mother in law came for omugwo she stayed for 5 weeks she left 3 weeks ago I had given my wife 30k the money I borrowed from a good friend of mine to get her some few things to take home then 3 weeks after her 4 siblings are here too, they are 6 the last born who is 10 have been staying with us for 2 years now , I take care of her my wife doesn’t work and I am only managing I don’t know why her people want to
drain me.
Can you imagine as soon as I entered the house her sisters were asking me about their Christmas gifts , brother where is our gift as if I am their ATM . I just ignored them because I was already angry seeing them in my house without my permission but keeping calm was the best thing to do . what shocked me was the fact her brother was comfortably sleeping in my bed next to my 2 months old baby , my wife didn’t see it as anything bad she said he is her brother and wouldn’t harm his own niece but my point was not about him doing something wrong with her but the fact that he doesn’t have any respect for my bed that what really got me angry which led to my wife and I to quarrelled not in their presence but in our room but since it’s only parlour and room self con I believe they must have heard everything but I don’t care . My Wife thinks I am overreacting and I don’t like her siblings and she said she will tell her parents everything I said to her in anger which I didn’t meant to but nobody in my position will be happy if he happened to be in my shoe . How do I handle this problem
With my wife without causing any further problems between us and her parents because I don’t have money to feed 4 more mouths for 2 weeks because they are not leaving any time soon not until the 3rd or 4th of January and before her siblings came she complained about her Christmas clothes and hair I told her I will only do Christmas for the kids because I don’t have money she frowned her face and started giving me attitudes and on top of that she has invited her 4 siblings when I don’t have a kobo to feed all of them. Even the food we have in the house won’t even last until January because I bought enough for 5 people but now with 9 of us it won’t last and her siblings are expecting me to do Christmas for them too , I don’t blame them because they are small children 20,18,15,12 who thinks that I have a skeleton in my cupboard where I get free money lol . What should I do right now ? I am not happy Your advice is needed please
That's good for you, shebi you said you like your wife to be full house wife ni, just because of your useless ego. Your wife doesn't even know how you earn, your monthly income because you think husband should not inform their wives, now she thinks you are a millionaire.
Sorry, I don't have any good thing to say to you, you are the architect of your problem

Lovethaa:
It saddens my heart to see so many broke and jobless guys in Nigeria these days and not just broke but also rough looking.
You might say what has look got to do with having money but as you read you would understand.

After Graduating from school I was jobless and broke and a bit rough , at a time when almost all my friends were millionaires Yahoo boys..

i decided I would visit my mom for a while then go to my friends to join thier Yahoo Enterprise.

When I got to her place and I told her all I have been through, she looked at me and was shedding tears , she told me I have lost something (I didn't understand what she meant but she did not say more than that )..

The next day she took me to her pastor who prayed for me and then he gave me a vision ,He told me I have a bright destiny and I'm not created to suffer not even a second, he then told me to draw closer to God .. I did not take his words seriously, but I had to act like I care because of my mom ..

When we were about leaving ,my mom told me to go to church and ask God for what I want ,I went in like she said not really sure if there is A GOD listening but I said my prayers .
That night I had a dream for the first time .

"" I dreamt of all the bad things I had done since I was born , in that dream there was a guy taking pictures of all these things but I was not aware . When I finally noticed him he began to run towards a police station,I ran after him in the dream , because I knew that if the police saw those pictures I would be arrested, but he was faster than me and he handed the envelope containing the pictures to the Chief of Police,I immediately started crying in the dream because I thought I would go to jail..but when the chief of police opened the envelope and brought out the pictures,I noticed that somehow the pictures were torn and he could not see anything ,.. I was happy then woke up.."

Weird dream. I told my mom and she took me to church and then the pastor revealed that it means God has forgiven Me my sins , he told me to Go and sin no more....

So I decided I won't go and join my friends anymore,I stayed with my mom and started hunting for jobs ,while I was doing this I was also going to vigil and attending church services...

But no job was forthcoming,I got tired and was looking for any jobs even if it is 15k per month

My pastor called me one day and told me to stop hunting for jobs and that the job would find me ... I looked at him like he was crazy but one thing about me even if I don't believe you I like to give people benefits of doubt. .so I decided to stop ...
Now during these times that I have drawn closer to God ,God had restored my beauty..I was looking better . The Glory of God was already showing in my life,

My mom then told me "ehn ehn this is my son not the old looking guy that came here last 3 months .
That's when I realized that when I thought I was having sex and enjoying different women I was actually killing my destiny....

I stopped looking for jobs but I do go out,one day a neighbor called Me and told me there is a job and wants to know if I'm interested, the job is to be a night security guard and the pay is 25k...I was desperate so I accepted,

when we got to the company we would be securing, the wife of the C.e.o saw me and asked the neighbor that brought me who I was , He told her that I'm the new security guy she requested ..and she asked me my name I told her,

she looked at me and said are you not too soft for this job ?( Because I looked gentle) ,she asked me if I went to school and I told her that I am a mechanical engineering graduate..
She then told me "Really, No you can't do this job , you deserve more"...
She gave me address to her house and told me to come the next morning before 9am..

When I got to thier house ,she had already told the husband about me ,when he saw me ,he asked me if I can manage a petrol station,I told him yes .. without asking for my C.V or results ..
I got the job to manage his Filling station at lekki at 60k/month ...

The filling station is a personal company but he was using "Mobil". Name to access more customers,

As a manager,I do go to Mobil headquarters at apapa for documentations and Meetings :,it was during one of this meetings that I met a lady working at Mobil,

We dated and she was the one who helped me in securing a job at Mobil ...my salary when I started was 180k.........
In my department there was this joint savings,we all do...I was saving 100k every month with them and by the end of the year they gave me back my money which was over a million naira .......

God Is Wonderful...

The average Nigerian lacks the common sense to understand the way the economy works

if you like learn all the skills in the world as long as the Nigerian economy is not promoting new businesses or startups no skill can save your business from crumbling.

Without favorable government policies there is no skill you can learn to move forward.

what we should be asking is what can we do to improve the standard of education in Nigeria so that the courses that people study can have an impact

the poor man teaches his children to study in universities so that they can get a certificate and then get a job and live a comfortable life

We don't go to school just to study and get the certificate.

we go there so that we can learn a course and then use what we have learnt to improve the economy that is why school was created

so if you guys keep running around learning skills how will the economy improve when the people that are supposed to get the intelligent ideas to change things are shying away from scoring high points in school.

if you think enterpreneurship will save Nigeria then you have learnt nothing from 2014 with all their enterpreneurship programs when recession came you saw how many people committed suicide. you all have come together and start bringing the solutions ourselves.

we can't expect the government to do anything impressive when we made the wrong decision by voting the wrong people.

You can never expect a goat to act like a lion, lead like a lion and protect like lion because it a goat is a goat.

so when you bought the wrong leaders you can never expect them to improve the economy and lead like great leaders when you keep collecting bribes to vote the wrong people.. you can never expect them to act in the right way.

right now we have to come together and start looking for ways to improve the economy and improve the educational system because no skill you learn today will not be affected by the economy.

whatever skill you learn the dollar to naira rate will increase, the price of your goods make buying things unfavorable and many more things that you don't want experience.
I agree with you, and those kind of one directional thinking is why Nigerians still live in poverty. 80% of those that learn these skills are either poor or broke
