PoliticsRe: Libya: Gaddafi Stalls Evacuation Of Nigerians by monkeyleg: 8:11pm On Feb 26, 2011
It is a difficult one, the evacuation should have been done much sooner. Nigeria now needs to either seek to get this clearance push through the UN or partner with another country on the ground.

I dont think we should totaly dismiss rightons point about Nigeria having a weaken stance globally, sometimes we are seen as the butt joke of all countries, even this morning on the radio, reference was made to Nigeria and fraud. We really need to start cleaningn up our act. Those actions we take for granted, always have a way of coming back to bite us.

I wish our numerous brother and sisters trapped in Libya a safe return.

PoliticsRe: Uduaghan Gets Four More Years In Office by monkeyleg: 4:29pm On Feb 24, 2011
@meldrick,

My brother i remember you said so. i had hoped that thinsg would start changing, but evidently not. The country is cowboys avenue, totally useless country, with a sham judicial system, same one that found uduaghan's brother not guilty of thief-thief
PoliticsRe: We Do Not Need New Univeristies, Fund Existing Ones (reps) by monkeyleg: 4:07pm On Feb 24, 2011
Sensible questions.

We really dont know how to do things in our country
PoliticsRe: Uduaghan Gets Four More Years In Office by monkeyleg: 3:35pm On Feb 24, 2011
@redsun,

I have since understood that it is only wicked and selfish people who believe that anything in Nigeria works. The whole country is a Sham. everyday I look around to find positives, but honestly none.

How can this ruling be right? How can a corrupt thief like Uduaghan be handed over this sort of gift? where is the justice for the ordinary man
PoliticsRe: Uduaghan Gets Four More Years In Office by monkeyleg: 3:05pm On Feb 24, 2011
redsun:
Nigerian justice system is as corrupt as nigerian politics which leaves nigeria to be nothing other than a rogue state,even though some of us like to deny it.
let us compare

Same happend in the UK, the MP was dismissed, his party keeped him out, and he was not allowed to run. Now turn on Nigeria

Governor dismissed, allowed to run, rewarded by Party (Even got blessings and endorsement from president), handed a false fraudulent victory, then comes to court to award another 4yrs. Well done Nigeria
PoliticsRe: Uduaghan Gets Four More Years In Office by monkeyleg: 3:00pm On Feb 24, 2011
What a country, I cannot understand how Uduaghan who falsely occupied Government house for 4yrs should be allowed to carry on

I guess oppossition will head to court. i just dont understand our country and the way things work, how can any sane person accept that justice has been done.

when I say the justice system is Nyash, people will say i have starte again.
PoliticsRe: Uduaghan Gets Four More Years In Office by monkeyleg: 12:50pm On Feb 24, 2011
This is shocking, and I know not likely to go down well. but we will wait and see, this Nigeria is just a fraud.

PoliticsRe: Jega Requests N5bn For Plastic Voters’ Cards ! by monkeyleg: 5:06pm On Feb 23, 2011
leave texazzpete, he is the only who cannot tell there is something wrong. All hail Jega and his boys
PoliticsRe: Jega Requests N5bn For Plastic Voters’ Cards ! by monkeyleg: 4:48pm On Feb 23, 2011
so texazzpete, you will classify this whole thing as a success? My honest opinion would be to wait till after the election, maybe then you will get a clearer view. I have no doubt that a lot of rubbish will unfold, and I can bet you come 2015, we will be spending this sort of money again

Ths planning, execution and delivery was rubbish, especially when over £400 million was spent
PoliticsRe: Jega Requests N5bn For Plastic Voters’ Cards ! by monkeyleg: 4:16pm On Feb 23, 2011
I think I have stopped being amazed at the length Nigerians are prepared to go to defend rubbish.

Can either of you tell us if the whole thing has been a success, and if you accept it is not, why should we not critisize or ask very serious questions, after all that is what would be done in progresssive societies, and dont forget that Nigeria has a reputation of being one of the most corrupt countries in this world.

£400 Million for voters registeration (The most expensive), and all we get is some cheap card, and a begging bowl? Nigerians are in ther right to demand and ask serious questions
PoliticsRe: Jega Requests N5bn For Plastic Voters’ Cards ! by monkeyleg: 4:00pm On Feb 23, 2011
Where did I call him a Thief? I am questioning the whole process, and if I have reason to believe things arent straight, I will say so.

Please stop holding brief, for people when you have no evidence to suggest that all is well.

Jega has been a disaster, and that is the truth, the sooner Nigerians (Including you and I ) start learning to face up to the truth, the better for everyone. This whole administration has been careless with our money, and I will talk.
PoliticsRe: Jega Requests N5bn For Plastic Voters’ Cards ! by monkeyleg: 3:48pm On Feb 23, 2011
oyb:
dude, it SHOULD have been captured in the original scope

you and i are engineers, and we know the ned to ensure EVERYTHING IS CAPTURED in a project from conception

as it is, i'm sure jega will still have more requests in the not so distant future. . .

i don;t think you are on any inside track, i think you're sympathetic to jega in large part because you're from an academic background, and you see him as one of the more competent members of the ivory towers.

but in this case, the man is not performing.
Exactly my point
PoliticsRe: Jega Requests N5bn For Plastic Voters’ Cards ! by monkeyleg: 3:43pm On Feb 23, 2011
@Tezzaspete,
Neither do you have evidence to suggest Jega did not take from the university coffers, so stop passing that one off, it wont wash
PoliticsRe: Jega Requests N5bn For Plastic Voters’ Cards ! by monkeyleg: 3:39pm On Feb 23, 2011
@Tezzapete,

I am not going to bother reading your post, I am sick and tired of people like you, who rather than face the truth are prepared to defend the indefencible
This whole things has been an expensive sham, and Nigerians must not accept it.

let me be the first to say it, Jega and his boys have been a monumental failure, and I doubt we are likely to have good outcome come April.
PoliticsRe: Jega Requests N5bn For Plastic Voters’ Cards ! by monkeyleg: 3:00pm On Feb 23, 2011
texazzpete:
And i suggest your attitude is the problem with Nigeria.
Your comments about people 'defending this rubbish' can only have been directed at me. If you cannot see that all i tried to do was to evaluate the unit cost of laminating one voters card, you need to stimulate your brains further.
No Texazzpete, there is absoultely nothing wrong with my attitude for not taking rubbish. Maybe if Nigerians had taken such a stand long time ago, we may not be in the mess we currently are. I really dont give a sheet about what money is for, and hence your analysis, my point remains, that Jega and the bunch of clueless idiots have shown theye do not know what they are doing. there is no sane person who would accept the voters registerations process as it stands as a success. i like being critical where there is a need to be. And I have far past the stage where I am prepared to accept wanton unchalleneged theft from anyone. This whole process stinks, probably you are the only one who doesnt see it.

otokx:
My voters card was laminated; why does he want to laminate it again?
My Brother it beats me, and some jokers are coming on here to defend it. This is just fraud, another avenue to fleece dry the already Mugu Nigerian public
PoliticsRe: Jega Requests N5bn For Plastic Voters’ Cards ! by monkeyleg: 10:53am On Feb 23, 2011
This is the problem with our people.

Was this project not properly scoped from begining? would properly securing the cards not have been an integral part of the whole process in the first place? It really get my goats when Nigerians start defending this rubbish.

This is plain fraud. How much have we now spent on this whole thing, in a country where a masssive proportion live on less than $1 a day.

I will be verhimently suggesting at some stage that Jega steps down and a proper audit is done. Nigerians have been duped once again
PoliticsRe: 18 Killed As Jos Boils Again! by monkeyleg: 10:46am On Feb 23, 2011
Vote wisely
PoliticsRe: 18 Killed As Jos Boils Again! by monkeyleg: 10:45am On Feb 23, 2011
Please everyone must now put sentiments aside. Goodluck Jonathan cannot rule our country, he lacks the power and understanding. If you are a true Nigerians, there is no way you would not have been moved by the ongoing in Jos. And it is totally shocking that the Commander in Chief has not been able to take decisive steps. Tells one a lot about him. We need a leader who can guide Nigeria properly, and honestly that isnt Goddy, so please everyone vote wisely.
PoliticsRe: Is Jonathan Playing For Ibori? By Okey Ndibe by monkeyleg: 10:31am On Feb 23, 2011
Strange country. I have been saying that I wont be surprised if the government is attempting this whodini act, although I still have slight reservations the UK will grant this especially as others involved in the case have been sentenced, but then again let us watch
PoliticsRe: What We Did Not Know About Buhari by monkeyleg: 11:40am On Feb 22, 2011
I keep reminding Nigerians, the begining of proper education is when you can make sound judgement  based on facts not sentiments. Are Nigerians denying that corruption, mis-managment and total lack on dicipline are our biggest problems?

If we accept, that the above is true, how do the candidate measure out? quite frankly if we are true to ourselves and nobody else, all would Agree that Buhari is miles ahead
PoliticsRe: Anxiety Over Inec’s Bid To Dump Ddc Machines by monkeyleg: 4:35pm On Feb 21, 2011
Una never see anything. This whole sham was long predicted, but Goddy's nyash lickers would not let any hear word. Nigerians have been duped again, Advance Fee Fraud?

But I have been saying these things for months, and I have been accused of bing a doom monger. Boys and girls the stakes are high. All this careless spending, without accountability must stop. This administration has not shown a single ounce of thriftyness, they are spending our money as if there is no tomorrow. It must end with sensible and clever voting, Sorry, Goddy and pack of hyenas must be shown the door.
PoliticsRe: Our Revolution Is Death Sentence To Corrupt Public Officers Simple by monkeyleg: 11:29am On Feb 21, 2011
@Knowall,

what you are saying is so true, and I have campained tirelessly for transparency and accountability. The common man is si fooled that he is prepared to accept anything at any cost.

Why should Nigerias Voters registeration be the most expensive in the world and if we are being frank, and we have to learn to, the Job done was rubbish. Some would suggest that a more effective excersize could have been carried out with a fraction of the cost and with a much better and confident outcome

why should we be importing dustbin from the UK? The questions are too much, but as usual, people will duel on sentiments rather than facts and reality
PoliticsRe: Our Revolution Is Death Sentence To Corrupt Public Officers Simple by monkeyleg: 11:17am On Feb 21, 2011
Whilst I do accept that there is a need for severe sanctions against those who have stolen Nigeria dry, I do not think that death sentence is the way to go

Firtsly becasue you are unlikely to get the sort of support you need to do this, because quite frankly corruption in Nigeria has been accepted as a way of life, so you might end up being the only one left after your crusade (wont be a bad idea)

But secondly and most importantly, you do not have the capacity within the justice system to carry out such a task. Who is judged so corrupt to be sent to the gallows.

I would suggest you are likely to have more support if lengthy jail terms are handed out, and I means at a minimum 7yrs with the right of parole after 5. This includes hard labout, and the stripping of all assets.

But to achieve this you need a determined, firm and just leader., and if we are fair to the pack of jokers on display, only Buhari and Ribadu come close
