@Obailala, you make some valid points, I also hope that the Ogboru camp take note. the fact remains that buying votes remains a big parts of why elections are never credible in nigeria. considering that the average Nigerians is prepared to take 100 naira and vote for the devil. Can delatns not tell that Uduaghan and co have been a failure? I wonder if the Egyptians were enticed with money and how they reacted? |
obailala:Well, maybe it has something to do with the big screen tv he installed. Anyway that said. I would rather Ogboru than Uduaghan anyday. It is about time we seek some sort of change. PDP and the Ibori / Uduaghan cartel have ruined that state. |
It amazes me that someone who has been a monumental failure, has the dogs balls to even consider running for governor again. This robber is not fit to rule a village of 10 let alone a state like Delta. Deltans must be wise oh, Uduaghan does not have any good plans for us, he is a very wicked and corrupt person, and must never be let near our coffers again. We must all pull together to kick him our and eventually put him in jail |
For full article, follow the link below http://www.ukpakareports.com/news.php?type_id=3&news_id=1927 If you ask me I will say what a beautiful speech there by his Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, governor of oil rich Delta state, but it is how well not how far. If Deltans must to be sincere to themselves in all ramifications without sentimental attachment, Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan does not in any way deserve the precious votes of the people. Talking about his administration’s well publicized three point agenda, in what way has it truly affected the lives of the people? For over three years plus now the state can not boast of its own media, whereas Governor Uduaghan spent huge sum of millions of naira in hiring AIT, Channels, NTA and others to broadcast government events live while the three state owned media houses remain in a state of comatose. Take a critical look at the Governor Uduaghan’s peace and security agenda; today the people are not safe, a situation where armed robbers in broad day light will murder several persons including a pregnant woman at Ogwashi-Uku in an uninterrupted Bank robbery, a situation where a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Ibuza police station, Mrs. Mercy Dagogo will be murdered around the popular Ogbeogonogo market in the state capital, Asaba, a situation where several souls were lost during the Irri communal battle as well as other communal crisis in Isoko land and several other communal crisis among others, yet we have in place peace and security agenda and every month tax payers money running into billions of naira are been voted for security. Apart from the two gigantic projects initiated by the former governor of the state, Chief James Ibori recently commissioned by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, what other major projects can His Excellency, Governor Uduaghan come out bold to show Deltans that will warrant them giving him their votes in the forthcoming general elections.? All we have on ground been paraded by Governor Uduaghan’s administration as projects are nothing but mere cosmetics and media propaganda. Analysts contend that the current government under Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan might have received over 600 billion naira in oil revenues from the federation account via statutory allocations from the federation account, excess crude remittances, ecological funds, derivation proceeds and value added taxes, but the state cannot boast meaningful investment that could assist reduce mass poverty and youth unemployment. In deed, the last World Bank report cited Delta state (34th) along with Imo state (35th) as the states in the country most difficult to do business. Such rating underscores why Delta state is massively impoverished, underdeveloped and poverty-stricken in the hands of a very corrupt government. |

Wonder if this is a game changer? could this be the face of politics this year, or is this just another kidnapping case? |
Sports minister caught froliking with Rewandean chicks Rwanda's youth and sports minister, Joseph Habineza, has resigned following allegations of improper behaviour. The announcement came after photos began circulating on the internet showing Mr Habineza in intimate poses with several women. http://www.saharareporters.com/news-page/rwanda-youth-and-sports-minister-joseph-habineza-resigns-after-photo-scandal-bbc |

Na wa oh. Gunmen yesterday kidnapped a 9-yr-old daughter of the Director-General of the Uduaghan 2011 Campaign Organisation, Professor G.G. Darah. She was being driven to her school at Ovian in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State when the gunmen struck. Her driver was shot by the kidnappers before she was taken away. Time was about 7.30 am. The driver is said to be in a critical condition and receiving treatment in the hospital. Prof G.G Darah, who spoke to our correspondent on telephone, confirmed the incident, but said no contact has been established with the abductors. The Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Police Command, Mr Charles Muka also confirmed the incident, saying the police were on the trail of the suspected kidnappers. |
Let us wait and see, though I things this is highly unlikely to succeed, considering that Ibori is the principal suspect in the case, and his accomplices have been tried and convicted. Ibori, must now be dragged into the Uk and tried like a common Thief / Criminal which he is |
Not bad, but can it be sustained? I hope this one has been though through properly? what happens when the Fashola reign ends? |
Kube no good oh, smoke am small small before e bend your mind finish |
Another opportunity to start defending Jega? In a country so poor with majority of her citizens living on less than $1 a day, Oga Jega cannot make do with N45bn. I just wonder what the people in goverment think Nigerians are? Or better still I wonder why after so many years of being raped, we still have not recognised that we are the victims here. Please read http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/02/inec-budget-n45bn-not-enough-jega/ Earlier in his Presentation, Professor Jega said INEC would require 360,000 ad hoc staff for the April elections, as against the 250,000 staff used for the voter registration exercise. He also told the Committee that 4000 permanent staff would be recruited by the commission after the April elections. He said INEC would spend N324 million on consultants who would be in charge of the recruitment exercise. He also said that N10.8 billion would be expended on the ad hoc staff for the election, a breakdown of which include N10, 000 daily allowance for the three elections as against N5000 paid in former election |
Whilst I do agree with you guys, the problem goes way beyond Goddy. Look at my state for instance, Uduaghan has received in excess of 960 Billion Naira in 4yrs as detailed by his opponents, i will gladly pay anyones fare who wants to go and see what that sort of money buys for you in a fraudulent government but funny enough, there were still people prepared to support him. So whilst PDP, might be a major problem, we are contributing factors |
Uduaghan at his best, mouth full of Shiet, and heart black as the devil |
babasoty:My Brother, I take your point, but we must recognise that the justice I refer to here, is that this guy is unlikely to be able to seek redress. If this was not raised, it would likely have been swept under the carpert. where is the justice in that? |
I do conceed to an extent that this whole thing was rushed, that said though, this would have been an excellent opportunity for the Nigerian Government to start gathering accurate data on her people. Would it have been too difficult for people to be asked to come with their Birth certificates, Passports? or Sworn affidavit, at least to create some level of people varification. This data can then be built upon, saving the tax payer and Nigerians a huge amount of money. I have no doubt that Jega must have meant well, but it takes far more than sheer will to accomplish that which will become beneficial to all. We must start using our money wisely. The whole process was not thought through from day one, now we are left with Patch-Patch Job. |
babasoty:@Babasoty, I dont accept that to be the case. The start of my post had absoluetly nothing to do with Goodluck. It was quickly ceased upon by the like of Wesley80 and Ma_J_Blige, preempting that this was about thier oga, and in the process not seeing the real story. Why did they not contribute anything of note in regards to the injustice metted out to this guy. They have simply formed the opinion that any negative news is a direct inference to Goddy, they should please grow out of this childish behaviour |
These are the sort of issues we must pertition againts, and get the government to do something about it. Where does this guy now go for some sort of redress. he was arrested @ 25 and turns up @ 40, a good chunk of his life gone, and in the process he loses his Mum, Wife, probably got permanent damage from being shot, not to talk about the innocent ones who died in Jail And some Illiterate fool says there is nothing wrong with the system. There can never be a differing view for such injustice. It is plain evil and wrong |
wesley80:Wesley80, I sensible countries were this sort of excersize is undertaken, age verification is part of the process, but I dont expect you to understand, after all you are busy wallowing in the 1000 naira your Grand-mama and you got from Uduaghan. Stack illiterate |
Ma_J_Blige:I keep saying that Mental illness is Nigeria's Biggest problem. I really dont know what your problem is? Are you saying there is nothing wrong with what happend to this guy? or you just dont give a FfuckK |
This is what happens to blind GEJ supports (M_J_Blige and wesley80), they have forgotten that thinking is done with head not nyash. Why do you guys feel that every topic must have an inference to your Oga? damn losers the injustice in Nigeria is just too much. Did you guys read were he said he lost his Mum whist in Jail? It is such a sad story, all because of Suya and Crazy Nigerian policemen. |
juman:For were, na man wey wear woman skirt, rob lipstick be dat. Oga leave this Cross-Dressing business, e no dey pay |
Wouldnt it have been easier for INEC to request age verification at point of registeration (Birth Certificate, ID card, Passport), would that not have saved us this headache and possible loophole for fraud. Just shows what a shoddy job was done in the first place. Totally "Lets make it up as we go along" Syndrome. No clear vision, no clear plan. Just an observation, not a complaint. |
GEJ, must ensure that his words are guarded and sensitive. Referring to people as rascals is grossly irresponsible, especailly as he is the President |
oyb:My Brother, the entire story is really sad. It brought tears to my eyes. This can easyly happen to anyone. I recount my own story, when I was held by the men in black, because I was taking a old electric cooker to my mum. I remember buying thing thing for about 2000 Naira, and just couldnt find the receipt. Anyway, It quickly decended to a situation were myself and the taxi I was in was taken to the Surulere police station. The guys were adamant that we were in for it today, no amount of begging or offer to go find the receipt was accepted. Even a call to my Bro to find the receipt was refused. You cannot imagine the awful things that went through my mind, including the stories of innocent people killed and wrongly framed as thieves. Anyway after parting with 13K we were allowed to go But, you see, that is the Nigeria we all live in. This mans story can easily happen to you and I |
How can this be a ploy to Bash Nigeria? People like you make me wonder. The extra judicial killings in Nigeria is very high, the lack of justice is mind boggling, rather than raising the issue as one which should be looked into, you are here talking rubbish. You wait till you are falsely accused and locked up for 15yrs for no reason. |
It is so sad, that 50yrs after independence, there is no proper legal system. Please read this mans tale, and understand why we must all start pulling in the right direction. This could have happened to any of us. Effiong Elemi-Edu, 40, was released from prison in Nigeria last month after spending more than 15 years inside awaiting trial. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-12422681 |
@Ikengawo, Knowall does have a point. For the sort of money we have been earning from oil & gas for 12yrs, Nigeria should have done more. I dont accept your take on Social housing, it might have been a failure in the US, but has been more or less a success in the UK, and other European countries. it is essential, as not everyone even with the best will in the world are going to be able to build a decent house for themselves, and that's a real fact. The issue with social housing is maintenance, if properly looked after, I believe it could work. |
As usual, the main issue at hand is left aside, and insults a traded. This is just pure wicked dis-respect for those who lost their lives yesterday. I doesnt matter which side of the political fence you sit, we must all recognise a tragedy and treat it as such. |
Nsiman:What is so special here, is that lives where lost, so you too watch your mouth. |
seanet02:Young man, why dont you just SHUT UP. A tragedy is not an excuse to pass snide, insensitve remarks. |
