PoliticsRe: Dislodgment Of Ribadu From The Force by Moves: 3:29pm On Dec 09, 2008
Of All the problems facing the Nigerian Police Force; how come the case of Ribadu is the most prominence? The Bloody NPF should concentrate of curtailing the robbers in ibadan where banks are shut becos of this; loads of examples abound
PoliticsRe: Babatunde Fashola For President 2015 by Moves: 5:00pm On Dec 08, 2008
Well, I for one dont have problem with dora being president; if it is the Igbo's turn they have the option of Dora and Ernest Ndukwe, any one of those will do; please Igbo's no orji kalu etc. We want result oriented people.
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Flees Nigeria? by Moves: 4:21pm On Dec 08, 2008
cre8tivity:
what would you have done if you were wearing ribadu's shoes?

i would have publicly made it clear that i do not like what i'm being put through, but i must obey the rules and my seniors,
@ creativity; I think u r missing the point here; There is no one who is perfect; when Ribadu was removed by being sent to course; though people shouted foulplay,  He took it in his stride;

therefore, i'm ready to face whatever they present to me. i would have allowed the same unreliable system to indirectly fight back for me. that is how a true leader should operate. but ribadu is too stupid and desperate for power to see through this cloudy weather. sometimes, one must pay attention and use his or her head correctly.
@ creativity; Now he was double demoted; that is victimisation- if u cant see then there is no point really; his car is being shot at? At this stage he went to court; with total disregard for the "Rule of Law" he was humiliated at a graduation where the case pending.
Am in no way saying Ribadu is a saint or he did not fight a selective battle; relieving him of his post @ the EFCC should have been enough; and allow their farida to fight corruption "unselectively" except for the case of lanre tejuosho; non of the other victims can be said to be clean; neither can we say ribadu is truly clean. And are forgetting that this is in a country that the Attorney General was murdered and nothing happened so asking him to " would have allowed the same unreliable system to indirectly fight back for me" is childish
PoliticsRe: Babatunde Fashola For President 2015 by Moves: 2:04pm On Dec 08, 2008
If he wants to contest; 2011 should be it; No Need to wait for 2015. Atleast he is not bereft of ideas as mr go slow; will this ever happen -nooo not in our nigeria; we have a knack of selecting the worst people; but sorry we dont choose; we have the misfortune of the wrong people being imposed on us.
PoliticsRe: Huge Capital Flight Hits Nigerian Economy by Moves: 11:42am On Dec 08, 2008
@ All; This has been an intellectual discourse can we endeavour to keep it @ that; My own position is that nigeria cannot be immuned to the happenings around the world; so there's need for those who are at the helm of affairs to work towards leading us through; but how can this be when appointments are not based on capability i.e not getting the best minds to do the job. which is the problem bad leadership.
FamilyRe: 'my Life With Obasanjo' By Remi Obasanjo Too Explicit Or What? by Moves: 4:05pm On Dec 04, 2008
It her personal account; and having been through what she went through; she has earned every right to air her story; and none of those mentioned living or dead have published a rebuttal of her story as they are wont to do in nigeria.
TravelRe: So What Class Do Your Family Fly? by Moves: 4:00pm On Dec 04, 2008
Well if u can afford it; please do; afterall u only live once; for it premium economy especially on long haul flights, but when the company is paying it has to be business class.
TravelRe: Nigerians Abroad: What Advise Will You Give Anyone Relocating Abroad? by Moves: 3:57pm On Dec 04, 2008
Am very happy @ the level of discuss here; few points is that if u really do have a well paying job in nigeria; there is no point relocating to the west for greener pastures; but u can relocate if you have other reasons like health, security family etc. Being Legally resident makes it a bit easier because no relocation is easy.
Also for some people coming to Uk has afforded them the oppurtunity to achieve something in life with HARDWORK that would not have been possible if they had stayed back in nigeria. so i agree with tos; I main thing I hate about nigeria is that if u dont know someone it is extremely difficult to land a descent job, whereas i the Uk, if u r in the right field getting a job is alot easier.

TravelRe: Getting Married For The Green Card (Citizenship) by Moves: 11:12am On Dec 03, 2008
@ Idocare; what tha_dude is trying to say is there are always two sides to a coin; I grateful i don't find my self in such situation; but have met many who are; The main reason my best friend married his wife was for paper; he has since gotten the paper; but they are still together 10years; he has grown to love her so much that he doesnt go nowhere without her; they have the happiest family of all the couples around me myself included.
I have also seen cases where the sponsor treats the partner like crap just because they haven't gotten the full paper; and when they now do and pacjk up and go they start crying foul play. My Believe is you marry someone for one reason or the other depending on how important the reason is to you; to some it is the partners physique; wealth; greencard, if you work hard at your relationship then there is a high chance it would work as there are always challenges (cultural, financial etc) in a marital relationship.

And Idocare; I think u should look more closely at the reason why your marriage failed; as i find it hard to accept it that ur hubby married you because of greencard, as according to your statement he was well off in nigeria; and being a practising medical doctor he doesnt need to marry an American citizen to leave nigeria; becaiuse he's skillset are always in demand. Futhermore, as a responsible Ibo man; the Ibo culture places alot of importance to the First Male Child; so he wouldn't up and go just because of greencard. Please note; am not saying the dude is a goodguy; he could be real bastard for all i know; is just that i believe that there would be other factors not just the greencard; Alimony payment is not cheap.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria's 2008 Silent Heros! by Moves: 12:13pm On Nov 27, 2008
Mine are > Soludo for having the foresight years back to carry out recapitalisation and this year his foresight is being brought to light. Dora for continueing the fight to protect the health of nigerians without being compromised. Achebe- For not giving up on nigeria. Gani - For continuing to be a voice for the people even when his own health is failing.
FamilyRe: Caught My Husband From Cheating :/ by Moves: 11:56am On Nov 27, 2008
@ Amakaone- not in anyway trying to join issues with u; just wondering how u came to the conclusion of him being abusive; the poster has not mentioned such; no one is in dispute that the guy cheated; which is what the poster alludes to no mention of any form of abuse. I do not condone a guy being abusive to the wife in anyway be it physical; emotional or mental. Bill clinton cheated on his Wife of mmany years; can we now deduce that he was in anyway abusive to hilary clinton.

And in relation to my advise to bigmodo- That was due to his suggestion to the poster to Kill the guy; who is someone's father, brother and son. Especially to someone living in finland with highest gun ownership.
PoliticsRe: Support Mr. Ribadu For President 2011 by Moves: 7:05pm On Nov 26, 2008
@ Lucabrasi; Nuhu ribadu, couldnt go after Obj as he was a sitting president; If president Yar'Adua has given Ribadu a free reign who knows if he might have; atleast EFCC had his daughter a serving senator running into hiding. Had mr go slow allowed Ribadu to continue his work; we can only but imagine what would have happened. Also Yar'Adua not being sure of the safety of his position ala the election court case hanging over his head; he is susceptable to blackmail by the thieving cabal.
FamilyRe: Caught My Husband From Cheating :/ by Moves: 6:54pm On Nov 26, 2008
@ BigModo; knew u meant the Husband; The Father of her son; And u r a man; guess u have never cheated before in your life, not neccessarily in a relationship; if u don't have reasonable advice; it is not compulsory to give one; guessing u r based in naija, therefore not aware of import of the use of the word nigga especially when white and black people are involved.
FamilyRe: Caught My Husband From Cheating :/ by Moves: 4:43pm On Nov 26, 2008
Amakaone; I can understand the vindictiveness behind ur response being a female; According to the wife he is only cheating with 1 lady he meant in church; she didnt not catch him redhanded he confessed; it could be a slip up; there is no mention of abusiveness from the guy; that someone is a cheat male or female doesnt make them abusive. Also the poster was well aware of his tendencies but decided to take a chance; it didnt work, so she either forgives him or leave him.

For those who are saying the guy married her for a paper; that is not neccessarily true, becos if it was; he doesnt need to have informed the lady from the onset about his woman naija who already has his child. For crying out loud, if she files for divorce she could easily take him to the cleaners.
PoliticsRe: Support Mr. Ribadu For President 2011 by Moves: 12:41pm On Nov 26, 2008
@ Lucabrasi; Funds are not required from treasury looters; when the poor masses donate their N100's before you know; u get more than is required; nigeria need to do away in their believe of the superiority of moneybag politics; What is Important is grassroot participation and mobilisation with that powerful cabal can be overturned. A lot of work is required though; but it is doable
FamilyRe: Caught My Husband From Cheating :/ by Moves: 12:23pm On Nov 26, 2008
@ BigModo; Absolutely no need to advice the Lady to Kill the Girl; What For? There is no guarantee the guy used her to regularise his stay; As U can see she was well aware that he had a woman in nigeria with a child for him; And he is not cheating on her with the woman in nigeria but a liberian lady he met @ his church in finland; He cheated on her agreed; since when does that warrant being Killed; If she divorces him; he has more to lose even if he has already gotten his paper; paying alimony, child support etc is not cheap. Bill Clinton cheated on his wife; she didnt Kill Him; so cheating is not a nigerian or african thing neither is it a gender issue. While not condoning the guy's action; even if he married her to get a stay in finland; if she divorces him he still loses out big time as they have a son.
FamilyRe: Caught My Husband From Cheating :/ by Moves: 2:32pm On Nov 25, 2008
Sis; Hope u r not making a mistake; it could just be closeness gone too far; that may be redeemed without ending your marriage; if he actually confessed that should count to his favour; as it is a sign of seeking redemption; You guys should find a way to resolve the issue; especially since a young child is now involved.
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Dragged Out Of NIPSS Graduation And Arrested by Moves: 2:52pm On Nov 24, 2008
One thing is Clear; No One can say that Ribadu didnt do his job well given what was available to him; What is Happening to him, will only serve as a pointer to all nigerians that corruption can not be fought against in nigeria as the cabal will not allow; Why Should they not allow him to graduate from a course he has expended his time to pass.
PoliticsRe: Akinyele: Soludo Deserves Presidential Handshake by Moves: 5:00pm On Nov 21, 2008
Is there something wrong in acknowledging that someone has done their job well? In the UK with Northern Rock; people where queuing for cash out their money from the Bank; what Soludo did, has till date ensured that we are not experiencing such even with the current credit crunch; he might have cocked up on other initiative; he this guy has foresights and ideas; and that is what we should learn to celebrate; obama is where he is today because he had an idea of Change and was able to get America to Buy into his idea and vision. Viusionary Leadership is what is lacking in nigeria today; It is not lack of educated leaders.
PoliticsRe: Shutting Down Of Ocean View by Moves: 4:41pm On Nov 21, 2008
And exactly where in lagos is free of residential or strictly business area; they both co- exist; they should just make sure in enforcing who is allowed there; and they dont constitute a nuisance to neighbours. In germany strip clubs co exist with residential no big deal. Not in anyway in approval of strip clubs but in democracy; peoples rights to choose should be respected.

i have said it and will always say it again nigeria can only change if an igbo man is given the president of this country.all the economic reformers is from igbo to tell you if we eventually leave nigeria there will be problem so kudos to soludo you are an icon an a proud igbo son this is just a stepping stone.
I agree when an Ibo man can conduct a free and fair election-Maurice Iwu.
When are we going to do away with tribalism. Soludo achievement is not based on his ethnicity but on his person
PoliticsRe: President Umaru Musa Yar’adua Has Sent 13 Ministerial Nominees by Moves: 1:49pm On Nov 19, 2008
And Yet people wonder why there will never be an Obama in nigeria, same old same old- Atleast Obasanjo with all his evils had the ability to choose some good candidate; There are loads of nigerian professionals technocrats making their marks all over the world the for mr go slow to select failed jobbers with no prior antecedent warranting their selection. When we start celebrating ideas-knowledge rather ghana must go bags then nigeria can move forward.

PoliticsRe: Will Nigeria Ever Split Up Into Seperate Nations? by Moves: 4:50pm On Nov 17, 2008
@ Poster, Nothing in life is guaranteed, but will it be beneficial - NO, the problem with nigeria is not one that can be solved by divsion, The problem is the with corrupt leadership, which exist in almost every family unit in nigeria, so dividing it up wont help. I seriously doubt if one region will be any better off.
PoliticsRe: Who Is The Best Nigerian Politician Today? by Moves: 4:28pm On Nov 17, 2008
I would say Ken Nnamani- That he had the clout to stand against the third is commendable; the rest are not politicians. Also I would suggest Pat Utomi.

Foreign AffairsRe: Only In Africa! by Moves: 1:56pm On Nov 05, 2008
No Big Deal; He is one of them; He acknowledges the kenyan in Him; He took time when he was nobody to seek them out, so giving people a holiday is not a bad thing as they celebrating him as one of them; whether he gives aid to africa or kenya will not make him less or more kenyan. Atleast they are celebrating something worth celebrating unlike we nigerians that tend to celebrate mediocrity and thieving leaders.
Foreign AffairsRe: Republicans Attack Obama Verbally At Convention by Moves: 11:09am On Sep 04, 2008
This is how politics is played; the verbal attack is game unlike in nigeria where politiking is more of a physical attack. I think the Republicans are actually ripping into Obama big time. The choice of a woman will be the clincher for the republican, she can rip into obama but he cant be seen to attack her back, it is ungentlemanly.
Foreign AffairsRe: Why Do Most Nigerians Want Obama To Win? by Moves: 11:01am On Sep 04, 2008
@ Kobojunkie, have u read OBAMA autoboigraphy, Go read it, and u can understand why people of african heritage clamour for him, I dont think he will win, just seen sarah palin speech; I think he might have lost out due to political calculation though thru no fault of his, An OBAMA & Clinton ticket would have been better. There could be a thousand and one reason why nigerians will want obama to win; it is an individual thing- No right or wrong reason; And Obama has alot of qualities thats attracts. Atleast i know he is a prolific writer and orator (like JFK and our own Awolowo).
PoliticsRe: How Come Its Only Nigerians Abroad That Are Complaining by Moves: 7:49pm On Jun 10, 2008
It is simply because we have seen how thing should be; could be if the little effort is applied. Solving the majority of the problem facing nigeria just requires the president to be strong willed and decisive; Obasanjo if he didnt soil his hands would have been a good fit. To fix nigeria; yar adua needs to forget the 7 point agenda and just concentrate on 3 of the points.

1. Niger Delta- Create a weekly unemployed benefit for the people actually resident in the impoverished areas of the niger delta; if they attend training 3days a week to get them gainfully employed; this can be funded from the money allocated to the Niger Delta development, oil companies contributions - which the so called elders and leaders are just siphoning for themselves- This will show the people that there is willingness on the government part to solve the issue and will give those criminals parading as militant no excuse; finger printing should be done to avoid fraud.

2: Revamping of the Railways and Roads; the railways on its on will provide a minimium of 500,000 jobs directly, and loads more indirectly form associated services. Over 10,000,000 people are employed by the railway in India.

3. Electricity- This can implemented with commitment from the government
These 3 points can be done within yar adua time frame; and regardless whether there is corruption or Not. Will investigating the corruption of the past there is need to move forward and achieve something
