move darling, you can not complete an investigation without questioning 5 to 50 people. that is the point and the right way.
If U r Investigating a minister; and u have questioned all his juniors and have not found any issue to charge him with; what sort of investigation r u conducting, arresting and charging him to court based on evidence collated does not make him guilty, that is a pronounciation that a judge will make, if the FG or EFCC have such evidence instead of making silly noises in newspaper .they should contact their Uk colleague and arrest will be effected,

now, if you're invited by fg, it is your duty as a great citizen to immediately make yourself available, so that an investigation could be completed on time. any delay from you may jeopardize the successful outcome. this is what we have been preaching. ribadu as a former top fg official understands the importance of questioning people during investigation, but he refused to work with fg. now his best friend is pulling the same stunt. and you people see nothing wrong with this ridiculous action. it is sad, very sad indeed. we want a better nigeria, but we do not want the proper steps toward improvement to take place. a great example of lost souls.
that is incorrect, u failed to take into account convenience to the individual, in this case which el-rufai has made known, Appearance is also @ the discretion of the individual whilst a bench order is compelling, This same guy has appeared for questioning during the senate public hearing, did u read his retort above

move baby, if you know anything about carrying out a complete investigation, especially the one that involves top federal government officials from the last administration, it is a standard rule to exhaust all options by ensuring that all stones are turned before making your conclusion. any silly mistake may result into a very embarrassing and devastating outcome. i guess, you did not know this simple rule, but i can not blame you, afterall ribadu, your role model didn't know this rule either. he rushed like a figure head into 95% of his operations, and this is why none has been resolved as yet.
This is the point am making, if by the time his has be done; and the investigating officer sees a need to taking further action on the matter; instead of inviting the suspect u proceed to effect an arrest, It is that simple,
U need to learn to argue contructively without attcahing personal sentiments, Ribadu cannot be my role model becos i have never stated that he is; that i take a stand based on integrity rather than liason maybe a strange concept to u

i wouldn't be surprised if el-rufai is arrested by UK officials and deported back to Nigeria. regardless of the matter, people over there in UK understand the importance of rules of law.
i think it would happen soon.
-This shows Ur ignorance regarding how the rules of law are applied in the UK, The EFCC or FG have to provide evidence that makes the above action necessary, the home office minister has to be convinced that his fundamental human right will not be infringed upon, Both the AGF & EFCC knows this,so unless they are able to this; u can keep dreaming
just in case you did not know, ribadu has finally realized his mistakes and he's now willing to submit. i just wonder how long it would take you people to see clearly that for any progress to be witnessed in our country, we, as the citizens of Nigeria must first be willing to obey the rules of law at all time. it doesn't matter if bad leaders are in-charge, the rules of law must be obeyed. it is that simple.
Until those charged with enforcing the Law; start enforcing within the remit of the law; in the correct order; with victimisation & prejudice, no progress will be made, IT IS THAT SIMPLE

move darling, you just don't get it. just because efcc has invited your boys doesn't necessarily mean they've done anything wrong. what is killing your boys is the ridiculous excuses they've given for not honoring the invitation. and just in case you did not know, fbi does invite people for questioning all the time, just because people in united states obey the rules and regulations doesn't mean fbi doesn't invite them. without questioning few people surrounding an investigation, how the hell do you expect a successful outcome? move love, this is why i tend to ignore you most of the time, you just don't think properly before posting.
I do get it; What am saying is that it is not a wedding or tea party that invitations are being sent out for; u say all men are equal before the law; so those the robbery suspect that steals N1 million get same invitation as someone suspected of stealing N32 Billion ?
That is why am saying; there is no need for invitation; conclude ur investigations and then arrest any bastard that is found culpable, Not the press fanfare thats happening,
Btw, What planet do u live ?

any investigation concluded before a confrontation with the culprit is incomplete.
police can gather enough information before inviting or arresting anyone so el rufai is still innocent and that is why in law it is called invitation.
Are u saying that the above are the same thing; not in my books, An Arrest is an a arrest, heard of warrant of arrest yet to hear of warrant of invitation, Arresting someone does not mean they are guilty, even with all evidence acquired it the job of the court of law to decide if one is guilty or not.
it is only when he fails to clarify himself before efcc that he will be arrested and detained and possibly charged to court.
assuming he meets with efcc and they ask him where is N32b and he said i gave it to Mr. O, the next thing will be efcc inviting Mr. O to ask him if the funds was given to him.
Did u read the his reply above; if it was as simple as asking him a question there is no need for him to be physically represent,

okonjo iweala, a western trained economists had been invited once to testify and she did the same and went back to her base without telling nigerians that she is working. a clear conscience fears no accusation.
El-rufai has also appeared at the public hearing to answer questions and account for his part in the FCT
The Problem am stating is that if we are saying that things should be done correctly; that we should stop handing out invitations; arrest this guys after u have concluded investigation and charge them straight to court,
PoliticsRe: Why I Won’t Honour EFCC's Invitation Now - El-Rufai by Moves: 10:57am On Dec 23, 2008
how would you define an individual that is running from facing the law? there is no such thing as " because of my studies i can't honour fbi's EFCC's invitation". this is nothing but a total disrespect. moreover, it brings more attention when this kind of statement comes from one of our role models. who the hell exactly these people think they are?

@ Creativity - U missed the point, FBI does not Invite you for questioning, See the case of the sitting gov of chicago, He was arrested, after they had conlcuded their Investigation, Dont understand why u cant get ur head around a simple process, Investigate a crime then effect arrest. Not sending of Invitation; see it some kind of party IV.

Jakumo:
Ndipe, unless you happen to reside in the most gang-infested ghetto of Oakland, chances are that on your daily work commute, your mind is free to dwell on the coming day's activities at your place of employment. You will not, for example, be preoccupied with uncertainty about whether a street checkpoint along your proposed route that is manned by trigger-happy soldiers has been dismantled, while weighing the risks of avoiding that checkpoint by taking a long detour through a route notorious for car-jacking, but through which evasive fast driving is impossible due to the road being cratered like the lunar surface.

On reaching your place of employment, your ability to use the computer to work on critical tasks will NOT be dependent on whether the company's diesel electricity generator runs without mechanical breakdown, nor will your company's ability to locate unadulterated fuel for that "power station" depend on whether or not there exists an artificial fuel scarcity created by diesel hoarders and marketers. Correct me if I am wrong, Ndipe, but the Bay Area has not seen a power outage since the "rolling blackouts" of five years ago.

One has to remain ALIVE to enjoy and propound on the "Quality of Life", and to me the primary determinant of civilized life is freedom of movement. If your child were to require a nighttime hospital visit in the orderly society and city in which you live, you would NOT be filled with stark terror about the near-CERTAINTY that your car WILL be waylaid by bandits as you convey your precious loved one to a medical facility in the dead of night.

Unless one chooses denial over reality, that freedom of movement DOES NOT EXIST in Nigeria, regardless of how professionally successfull and wealthy the resident of Nigeria may be, unless, of course, that person resides within the self-contained and heavily guarded fortresses built by the multinationals in Nigeria for staff accommodation. If you fall into this rarefied category of Super Nigerians. then my hat is off to you for being FAR more equal than others.

Conclusion : Whatever creature comforts money can buy in Nigeria will only offer temporary and illusory respite from the multitude of life-threatening risks that lie in wait right on the other side of those fortified residences and offices of the rich, and for this reason the LIFE EXPECTANCY, as well as the quality of life for any person resident in Nigeria is without question WAY lower than most other "peacetime" countries on this planet.

For every UK "garbage disposal technician" that lives to collect retirement benefits and see grandchildren play in the back garden, TEN Nigerian doctors are randomly killed by armed robbers before they reach the age of 40.
I agree with U in totality; Safety of Life and Properties is the main concern of any nigerian in diaspora comtemplating of going back to nigeria, not wealth, It is also the concern of those living in nigeria; hence this basic neccessity becomes the bench mark for assessing quality of life
PoliticsRe: Why I Won’t Honour EFCC's Invitation Now - El-Rufai by Moves: 10:52pm On Dec 22, 2008
Why do nigerians refuse to face the issue; even when its is staring them in the face; 1st it was ribadu; now its el-rufai; EFCC Should shut up and stop making noises; It is not a criminal offence not to honor an invitation; if dont they conclude their investigation and them instigate a warrant for the said people; who in their right mind will honor such request; It is simple; UK & Nigeria have bilateral agreements in this day and age; the AGF & EFCC need only to give the word that they have the evidence that el-rufai is culpable; for the Met Police to effect his arrest; they should stop play mind games; we know how things work; they should quit the bullshit. The Question we should be asking is Why would EFCC be sending out invitation to someone they have evidence that proves the person that has stolen 32Billion ? It doesnt Add Up, Nigerians use ur common sense

While not wanting to visit the sin of the father on the son, which i believe is unfair; the antedecedent is there but the problem is that this dapo guy has failed to show that he has accomplished anything in regards to career; acquired extensive experience that prepares him for the post he seeks election for; hence that is why people tend to look at him as a non achiever with no substance to his person; and the only identity he has is that of being a son an exgov who is deemed to have underachieved, So Mr Dapo lam Adesina. can u expanciate on ur work experience; personal achievement; other than being the son of an exgovt hat u makes u think that u r suitable to contest for the position. Also would u vote for urself (u being another person) and WHY

waziri's efcc do invite people while ribadu efcc will forcefully pick people and that in most cases resulted to shotouts in cases of resistance and that happened in platue and aba for reference purposes.
Herein lies the problem; Inviting People; For those that purport equality of all men before the law; do robbers get the same invitation; does the ordinary nigerian get these same treatment --NO.
So why not the EFCC conclude their investigation then if there's evidence of culpability the effect arrest, that is the solution, instead of hearing that Mr A or B has been invited by EFCC. Why wasnt the Gov of chicago invited by the FBI., he was arrested, thats what happens to people found to be culpable and charged to court, Enough of the foolishness, the way i see it based on invitation any individual can decline an invitation but when a warrant is issued for arrested it becomes a different issue, EFCC should get serious instead of chatting crap

Nigeria is a failed state; why does a simple issue has to become a major one; If the EFCC has any evidence of wrong doing after concluding investigations of any allegations; they should just issue a writ to have the guy arrested, they same thing they should have done with Ribadu; if they had evidence on him; they should have just walked into NIPSS and effected arrest; Only recently a sitting gov in chicago was arrested , Only in nigeria do we invite people supposedly thiefs to come and explain what happen to a missing amount, When will we start doing things the right way; carry out ur investigation first; once that is concluded u know where they guy is effect arrest and promptly charge him court , it just so simple than what is obtained , accused and accuser fighting a press war, shame shame shame

I know a lot of proffesionals who have left the UK to go to Nigeria to work - if it is not good for them, why will they leave the UK to go take up jobs back home in Nigeria?

In Nigeria, everything is paid for in cash, meaning, people in Nigeria has more access to cash, then people who depend on credit cards to even eat and go on holidays? don't you think then?
My Guy be Quiet; People take mortgages in Nigeria; Most Uk professionals going back to naija is because they have secured better deals; which wouldnt be available to them based on merit if they were based in nigeria; Quiet hating; If today there is security of life and property in naija; loads of people will relocate back without even considering the financial aspects; We all place different level of value on thing that r important; to some it is money; some security of life; to some is feeling at home where they are; some is availability of healthcare; so we tend to seek achieving this for ourselves and our families.

there shouldn't be a comparison between the 2, but it is fair to see both sides of the story. i honestly think ribadu is ok but what is killing him is: not being able to understand the importance of following rules and regulation during his operations. he needs to understand that if certain steps are not taken during any operation, the outcome usually comes back and bite. if it requires 10 steps to complete a process, it is a standard procedure that all 10 steps must be completely taken and documented.
I agree; what was required was not the removal of ribadu; but the appointment of another upright person as AGF; who would have checked the excesses of ribadu.

So please guys; i am yet to come across any religoin that says it is acceptable to kill another fellow; 9/11 both Christian &muslims; arabs and non arabs died.

My stand on the issue is that this guy can be deemed as a legend; be it  a comic one for throwing the shoes; he has become famous for that; he dared to do something that others wouldnt dare to think about; placing himself; his life @ risk to show his displeasure; it good he they way he did what he did as he one shows others that u can draw the whole world attention to issues, show ur displeasure without drawing blood; atleast  in my books he is a hero; while those bastards in 9/11 and the idiots in Jos are not.

From the Tone of some of the above comments; it is not surprising we still have issues like the one that occurred in jos; if this much religion intolerance exist among the socalled educated & westernised nigerians -- shame ooshame
