BornStunner1: FACTS ABOUT THE YORUBAS AKA AFONJAS
( 1 ) . Their story of
kingship began with Edo
prince and the Benin
recorded History .
( 2 ) . Ayayi crawder said,
little were know about
yoruba existence,
meaning they were not
part of Nigeria of today
boarder or were in small
settlement close to
dahomy. yoruba are half
muslims and those with
African traditions copied or got them from Benin
civilization . I doubt if they not immigrants from dahomy
mix with Benins or other fulani- hausa from Niger
. Bishop Samuel Adjayi Crowther (c . 1809 – 31
December 1891 ) Was the first African Anglican bishop
in Nigeria . Born in Osogun (in today's Iseyin Local
Government, Oyo State , Nigeria ) . His grandson was
Herbert Macaulay
( 3 ) . Yoruba have dublicity of kingship with the process
highly politized to being traditional . A system they try
copy from Benin but can 't get it real like the Benin
Kingdom. Edo Obaship is one of the most revered
institutions in the world because of the way it has
sustained its awesome prestige with strict and
meticulous attention to ancient traditions of valour ,
discipline and integrity . Edo chieftaincy titles cannot be
bought or conferred on non- indigenes or frivolously .
Every Edo chief performs a peculiarly sacred duty
and responsibility to the people of Edo. It does not make
sense , therefore , to think that a people who would not
and have never conferred their chieftaincy titles on non-
indigenes, would voluntarily invite , accept, or surrender
to non- indigenes as their kings . Due to celestial
origins , the Edo monarch cannot eat out and cannot be
diverted from full time palace duties to hustle
for contracts .
( 4 ) . Most of today
yoruba religion are
Benin Origin , Olokun ,
Ogun , Iha oguega (ifa ) ,
oronmila, Esago
(shango ) , Ayelala etc .
Many Benin traditions
and spirituality are
stillfully documented by
yorubas in high places
as YORUBA ? (Never mind the Edo man ' s christian
mindset quickly dening Edo have niothing to do with
African traditional religion , agreeing they are foriegn to
Edoland . . . LIE ) .
Although the Great Edo ( Benin ) Kingdom were not major
participants in the trans- Atlantic slave trade , because
the Obas (Kings ) believed that their subjects were too
valuable to sell away , and their noblemen had need of
war captives on their own farms , the influence of Edo
religion and medicine has still been substantial upon
the people of the Americas .
According to Mason (1996 ) , it has been widely
accepted that Olokun ( god of the sea ) worship
originated with the Edo and spread to the Yoruba ( p. 2) .
In fact, the most prominent part of Edo cultural
traditions that has made its mark in the New World is
Olokun worship. Olokun (god of the Waters ) worship
originated from Urhonigbe and then became prominent
at Ughoton around the Ethiope ( Olokun) River . The
priesthood and rituals were firmly established at the
time . Some of the possible points of contact happened
early. During the Ogiso Period , trade with the Yoruba
and Igbos was quite extensive. Olokun worship may
have spread to those areas through traders . Prior to the
Oba Period , Ekaladerhan Izoduwa was initiated into
Olokun as a chief Priest while he stayed at Ughoton ,
before his moving westward with his followers to
establish Ilefe ( Ero , 1999 , p . 108- 109) .
Once he arrived , Ekaladerhan Izoduwa brought Edo
traditions to those areas and was a King of his new
community called Ilefe , which could be what yoruba call
IFE. . From Ekaladerhan Izoduwa ’ s loins , the Yoruba
dynasties may have began. However, it is certain that
Olokun is an Edo divinity whose worship spread to the
outlying Yoruba areas. Who Nigerian History epp? |

AutoJoshNG: Honda Goldwing three wheeler bike spotted in Lagos. I am sure someone will say this guy must be the Nigerian Terminator.
The Goldwing was first introduced in 1974 but this particular one seems to be the 2006 model GL1800. It has a 1832 cc, six-cylinder fuel injection engine which produces 118 horsepower. This is an amazing bike as it offers comfort, increased safety and adequate storage space. Therefore, several owners like to use it for long distance ride.
With a fuel tank capacity of 6.6 gallons (25 Litres), its fuel consumption is 55 miles per gallon on the highway and 40 miles per gallon in the city. It also comes with a radio and CD player as well as an MP3 port.
Some of theses bikes come with an airbag while some other come with GPS navigation. It can pass for a mini 2 seater car with all these feature.
The Honda Goldwing has also appeared in various movies like Police Academy 6, Spartan, Déjà Vu and Robocop 3.
After all said and done, the only funny thing about this bike is the look of the rear.
Do we have any bike lover in the house? Tell us what you think about the Goldwing.

teepsee: yea, as i tend to agree with you on that, i think you will also agree that no one do move from the rural to urban in with the intention of farming right? You talking about empowering the youth for farming, for me i don't think empowering is to be the first thing on the list. Rather let the government but up the necessary infrastructure to encourage farming, like solid storage facilities, good access of road to the market. Let look at the fruits that grows in large,(mango ) you will see how it's wasted and after the season, you won't be able to find any in market. D empowerment doesn't mean giving cash only and also not limited to your options.People do move from rural to urban for farming only that it's not common. My dear a lot of youths need a little financial empowerment to survive not even waiting for d government to build storage and roads for goods etc.If you wait for those things b4 you go into agriculture in nigeria, honestly u will never practice it.Do u know how many youths that have learnt poultry production, fish farming, apiculture, snail production etc but doesn't have that little fund to carry on.Most of them need only 200k.On the mango issue ,much as a lot is wasted during the peak harvest.lt is not enough to guarantee a huge production line of mango juice adequate production except there a constant and reliable source of mango fruits all year round.I have done the survey b4 but on another fruit. If not d production can only be twice a month after all d investment and staffing.A similar scenario happened as Dangote was about opening his tomato paste production line and how d last tomato disease struck. My write up is much, sorry not my style |
Business › Re: Food Importation: Nigeria At Risk Of Hunger, Says Dangote by MrHenshaw: 9:43am On Oct 18, 2016 |
teepsee: every time we hear news like this yet more youth in the rural area are leaving to the urban areas in search of the so called greener pastures.
Then it leaves me wondering, who will do the farming. When the once farming are not even seeing the profit of their labour. Farming is not only done in the Rural area.Crop production is not the only part of agriculture.Rural area are usually mentioned in this context because it's believed that it is where farmers will see undeveloped land considering our land use Act. The main thing is for the government to empower the youth, leave the creativity and location to the youth. |

In an interview with Vanguard, Owie said although what Aisha Buhari said was right, it could have been said in the bedroom when she had some private time with her husband.
“Aisha is right in criticism of President Buhari’s appointments, but the medium she adopted is very wrong. Such advice from a wife to a husband should be given at Bed time and not to the hearing of anybody. If a wife does that to me, the woman will return to her parent’s house within 24 hours of that statement.
