imperiouxx: Yeeeeeeee! You wicked small o ![]() |
flynbird: Wow! Please how did you get it? Was it through www.wakanow.com or through RoyalAir website? Did you book just yesterday and got N199,000 for 16th?Why don't you chill a bit before you book? When I went to get my tickets, the guys actually told me that the high prices will drop by August Ending. My opinion sha ![]() Additionally, I just checked Emirates' site and I got a price of 209,000NGN for a flight to JFK on the 31st of August and 176,000NGN for a September 1st Flight. See the price drop? |
nifty: @nas na the only way wey sure be that my school show me small pepper b4 them reply wes,i bypassed those junior officers and got my registrar's number off the school website naso i beg the woman ooo, sharp sharp tinz 3 days them reply wes oooo,ndLol.Lady Luck smiled on me too, the woman in charge of the verification was originally the secretary to my department Head. So she knew me well. But she delayed me o, told me to sit down in her office, since like 10am, talking my head off. She eventually typed the letter o (something that contained 2 measly paragraphs) around 5pm. Took me a day to get my verification from them. But wetin my eye see ehn? |
nifty: ms NAS pay your skool so they can reply them via fedex or dhl...........pay them courier feeWetin you dey talk? Make dem carry my money drink malt abi? |
imperiouxx: Mine was replied through email. I paid an officer in the exams and records in the admin who monitored everything so that it's fast. He told me everything including the time they received photocopy of documents from WES and when the reply email was sent to WES. Everything correlates because the day he told me they have replied WES was the day my status changed to evaluation is in progress on WES website.Oh, okay. Point taken But I can categorically say, my school only replies via Paper. When I went for my verification, and I was told to search for my WES documents, i saw well over 30 prepared verifications and many more still awaiting vetting. The lady told me my school only replies via paper. Nawa o, I no know why their own dey different ![]() |
kunlebal: Sup bro, am finding it difficult to pay WES Evaluation application fee with my Gtbank mastercard, this is the response i got from the payment site.Lol. First of all, I no be bro. Second of all I didn't pay with a Nigerian credit card, so I dunno anything about that sorry |
ferdimako: What about when a school can send it via e-mail? I hope WES accepts that mode. Some schools are doing e-transcript,itranscript delivery.Bigfran, what's up with that?I don't think that's an option. Especially coming from a Nigerian institution. You could try it sha |
winbyforce: Send WES verification? I thought the schools reply WES on verification via email. Please shed more light.I don't think so. Schools are to reply via paper (School's letterhead). They'll quote the reference number WES sent to them. Some schools might reply via email though, but I haven't heard of such. |
ferdimako: Why using Fedex when NIPOST does the job in 10 days?I'll advice anybody sending documents that needs to be delivered urgently to use courier (excluding EMS!). When I was sending my transcripts and all, I used DHL at first, but when I wanted to send the WES verification, I used EMS (which is NIPOST's own courier service, and I was told it will be delivered in 4 days. I paid 9,850)! Boy, I wanted to cry. My letter was stuck with US customs for 2 and a half weeks! I almost missed my deadline cos of that. Its the same with the registered post too, though in all fairness, some of the documents were delivered under 8 days...there were some of them I couldn't track (on the NIPOST and USPS site), and some were delivered in a month!!!. I went to NAHCO too, they couldn't track it, and they were telling me, maybe they changed the tracking number, like WTH?!What I'll advise is, if you want your docs be delivered safely and fast (no HBP) use courier, but if you're in no hurry, use the registered mail option. |
kunlebal: I want to make one enquiry from you guys, I just receive my transcript this evening from my school(STAMP n SEALED) and am thinking of putting the photocopy of my certificate inside the brown envelope that am going to put my transcript before I will send it to WES for evaluation through FEDEX.No oo! Don't try it, if you do....WES will reject it. WES demands that your school be the ones to send the transcript, not you (they believe you shouldn't be in possession of your official transcripts). The school sends your transcripts, you send the copy of your certificate. What you can do is that, you send the transcripts yourself, then if you have any contact in the US...scan your certificate to them and tell them to print and send to WES. That way, you won't have to pay for courier twice |
I was here ![]() |
ferdimako: I've seen it oh---76! Not needed for admission...Australian Embassy will make do with that score oh.All those Chinese and Indian students are coping. I might still use IELTS GT to lodge for the student visa,though.Lol. Congrats |
ferdimako: No matter the business...make sure your end is protected. If it's TOEFL or GRE reg.make sure you see your results before you pay.sup ferdimako, been meaning to ask you. how far with your result? |
iamchux: I don't think so Boss, It actually doesn't vary, its a grading system that can't be altered by any institution...Speak for yourself bro. It Varies I'm 100% sure of that. |
midi20: V.O: good morning (with a big smile), pass me ur docsFellow Physicist! Congrats! Cheers to u bro! ![]() |
House. Got my visa at the Abuja embassy today. After waiting in vain for dates in lagos, i decided to choose Abuja, i got 16th August, applied for emergency and was able to book 1st August.
Congrats!!! Cheers to you, Find Out! ![]() |
foohard: @MsNas..That means its not ready. But you can still send the email to be double sure. When was your interview? |
foohard: Hello house,You can track the status of you passport by sending you passport book number to passportstatus@ustraveldocs.com, or send them an email on support-Nigeria@ustraveldocs.com. I think I heard it somewhere that you can arrange with DHL to deliver the passport to your location for a fee, I dunno how its done or how much you have to pay though |
hello guys...i wish every one going for interview this season success...but remember to come back to say thanks. Please pals am still battling with WES on my transcript issue. My school say they have sent verification since may 7 but WES have not recieved it till today. However am applying to schools that dont require WES evaluation. So am considering UT austin, University of IOWA, Texas tech university and IOWA state university. Please help me choose one among them. Am going for Msc statistics and my academic records are not that high.(note: i applied to city university of newyork earlier)
Guy, why would you allow your school to send the verification themselves? Obviously, they sent it through regular mail..(And you know what that means) Go back to your school, plead with them and explain your situation. Tell them to re-issue another verification and this time tell them to give it to you to send through courier. If they won't, give them money for courier and ensure they send it in your presence |
justwise: That is not entirely true, a lot of people end up in lowly ranked school because the fee is affordable, not everybody can afford top-ranked schools. Attending top-ranked schools is good but will not necessarily make you better academically than somebody who attended lowly ranked school. It may get you a job but you can still be useless at itYou dey mind am? Shebi na "Lesson" those lowly ranked schools be, no be University. Mr. B.Eng from KNUST....looool. Is it the B.Eng that's deceieving you? Me sef get B.Tech. As Justwise said, graduating from a top-flight school doesn't guarantee you a job. Feel free to apply to top ranked schools, but don't critisize people who don't! imperiouxx: Let him continue giving us statistic. Only if he knows that the Indians are whatever comes and the Chinese find it hard to blend their English usage and blending with the American culture than the Nigerians. The guy na comedian! . Me sef wan go MIT, infact everybody on this thread must go to either UMBC, HARVARD, MIT, CALTECH OR STANFORD! Nothing but Ivy league oo. |
foohard: Ms nas dear, you could be wrong. That's what VOs does everyday of their live, and I'm sure you know the level of their competence. I can assure you its not difficult to know the ranking of schools. Also, I'm not saying only top notch schools' student get VISA. I got my VISA with Loyola which is ranked 106 among national universities in USA which I think is awful when placing beside University of Chicago, Uni of Michigan etc.Mr Foohard hun , need I say that we aren't talking about Nigerian schools (which most people can count offhead?) But American schools (over 4000 of them o) And need I say, overall university rankings and individual program ranking are different parameters? A school ranked 650 overall could have a program ranked 5th among other schools offering that course? Also, these VOs are trained, no doubt about that. But I assure you, if you were a VO, with the sheer amount of applicants you have to deal with, per day, I'm very sure checking the rankings of each and every school will be the furthest thing from your mind (except for some schools that raise very BIG red flags). They have an uphill task plowing through the crowd sef. |
imperiouxx: Not even over 400. In year 2005 alone, there are total of 4,140 universities and colleges in the US and 17,487,475 enrolled students. Guess the number would have increased by nowMy bad jare. I intended typing 4,000. Na haste cause am . Post modified. |
imperiouxx: There are thousands of schools in the US, so the VOs don't expect everyone to come with the admission letter of first 100 schools. Every public school's admission is treated as the same as well as many reputable privates that are not even within the 500 ranking.Help me tell him ooo! ![]() |
syahboy: Its funny how you think Vo's who are from the US don't know the good Uni's in their country, If you were a Vo and I tell you I'm going to Unilag will you deny me, on the other hand think about what you'd do if I said Obong university. SmhYou're the one that I should smh for! Shessh! How many Universities are in America? The VOs are walking encylopaedia abi? For them to know the rankings of each and everyone of those over 4,000 institutions? . Oookayyy, I concur. Stop spreading false rumors jare. I know, not less than 5 peeps who got admitted into schools that are not "stellar" like you put it and still go there visas.so, wetin you dey yarn?Or you think everybody on this thread that got their visas are going to top-notch schools? I-Laugh!!! Go to the American embassy and see people naming schools that'll make you be like "Which Kain School be this?" And these people still get their visa. As they say on this thread, once your school is a public funded institution, you're good Go check Imperiouxx's responce up there. |
syahboy: Bro please drop that school, you never tire to be delayed?.Its appaling how Nigerians don't care about school rankings(Salisbury is not even in the top 100 uni's for comp. Sc) I am quite sure if you were going to UMCP or UMBC you would have gotten your visa. People will tell you work on a good reason for choosing the school bla bla, your reason is so vague how is a school not in the top 100 ranked Uni's in comp. Sci unique? If you are tired of paying visa fee you gotta write those standardized tests and apply to reputable schools. I hope you're not too old for undergraduate studies sha. My 2kobo Cheers!Oga Abeg abeg, don't add another insult to the guy's injury. You think the VOs have time to start checking rankings during a 2min interview? Smh. From my research, Salisbury's a public institution.... Or do do think everybody that got his/her visa applied to top notch or ranked schools? The problem is obviously somewhere, he just hasn't deduced it yet. Eedrism, guy abeg. I'll advise you to chill, get your priorities right and straightened before applying the fourth time...else you'll be seen as a desperado. |
