Inexcusable mistake!, National disgrace. Heads must surely roll if we are a serious nation
Foreign AffairsRe: Breaking News: A No Fly- Zone Has Been Passed On Libya By Un by MT: 12:11am On Mar 18, 2011
A no-fly zone over Libya is a welcome development. However, the effectiveness and the co-ordination of the implementation will go a long way. The french promise to be heading to Libya in a matter of hours and the UK promise to be in Libya early Friday. The whole scenario is shaping up nicely.

Ghaddafi has changed his tactics as well. He only wants his troops to encircle Benghazi. He even welcomes UN to supervise the disarmament of the rebels.

My take is Ghaddafi can never be trusted!. I hope the UN will implement the use of force against Ghadafi military as well as the no-fly zone to the letter. The world is watching

Akala will never show up!. He's got nothing in his brain
PoliticsRe: Alao-akala Turns Down Invitation To Participate In Debate ! by MT: 9:29pm On Mar 06, 2011
Akala can NEVER participate in ANY debate, even if they re-schedule it to fit into his itineary. The b.astard has done nothing for Oyo State and has no concrete plan in the nearest future for the state.

He keeps building hotel (e.g. A3 hotel - an acronym for Adebayo Alao Akala along Ojo road) and many houses in Bodija both for his daughters and himself. Frivolous & over bloated state contracts are being  awarded to his sons-in-law in order to enrich themselves at the expense of the Oyo state inidgenes.

Shame!. Karma MUST surely catch up with AKALA one day!

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: UCL: Arsenal Vs Barcelona On Wednesday 16th February 2011 (2 - 1!) by MT: 11:15pm On Feb 16, 2011
Congrats to Arsenal fans but remember this is a game of two halves. The game is nicely poised now.

Think about this, at Nou Camp, with the intimidating stadium, vocal fans and electric atmosphere, can arsenal navigate their ways to victory ??.
You care for a verbal bet - (the moderator can open a new thread for this, and see who goes for what), I go for total Barca onslaught at Nou camp!
PoliticsRe: 2011: Without Jonathan, Nigeria’ll Break –alao–akala ! by MT: 9:34pm On Feb 08, 2011
Akala is very dumb. We are alll waiting for him at the poll. He knows that he cannot win a credible election, and his only way of retaining that seat is by employing the services of NURTW thugs.

Akala does not deserve to be a cleaner in any state government house.  silly goat!

To make matter worse, I cant believe that Jonathan can be using Akala platform to launch his campaign. It shows the kind of president he's going to be. Jonathan has just lost my vote smiley.
PoliticsRe: The Official People's Democratic Party Presidential Primaries Thread by MT: 7:50pm On Jan 13, 2011
Jonathan should not have attacked Atiku on time keeping. He's guilty as well!.

In as much as I dont pray for ATIKU to win, he finished Jonathan in his speech. His speech was laced with more evidence than Jonathan, and well rehearsed.

Out of the two evils, I still prefer Jonathan tho.
Christianity EtcRe: Is It True? Churches Asking You To Surrender Your Entire January Salary? by MT: 9:39pm On Jan 11, 2011
I can now understand why Nigeria is like this. So many "gullibles" working around. Let the truth be told, it is CRIMINAL for any church to ask anyone for his JANUARY Salary. Thats a desperation to FRAUD !!.

It is not biblical, no pastor should come and twist the scripture for us.
PoliticsRe: Eleweomo: Police High Command Orders Arrest Ofsenator Folarin by MT: 10:32pm On Jan 01, 2011
Eleweomo was a good riddance. Do you have an idea how many people he had killed when he was alive ?. He's not missed in Oyo state. People are quite happy that he's dead. Senator Folarin might be wrong in the way he handled the whole stuff, but I dont think the police have a water-tight case here. No concrete evidence to deal with the guy.

It's the stupid governor, Alao Akala, that needs to be stripped of his immunity and put in jail for causing this crisis,( all because of his second term bid) which has claimed many lives,
PoliticsRe: Fashola Breakdancing (pics) by MT: 11:37pm On Dec 24, 2010
I was "forced" to contribute to this thread after reading some comments from some individuals.

Let the truth be told, Fashola is a wonderful Governor. As a mortal, he might have his shortcomings but that should not stunt his achievements. Even the blinds will testify to the monumental achievements of Fashola.

He is a seasoned, all round governor. I dont know much about Amaechi, but there is no need for comparison. If they are both doing well for their respective states, it's a plus for their states and they should be commended. No need to create unhealthy rivalry between them in form of comparison.

Fashola has impacted on the grassroots and raised the bar when it comes to governance.

If you must know, I'm from Oyo state, while you are lucky to compare Fashola and Amaechi in term of achievement, I can only compare my own Governor (Adebayo Alao Akala) to governor like Daniel, ex-governor Oyinlola, ex-governor Ibori in respect of who among them is the best LOOTER of the treasury. Sad, so sad cry cry cry cry cry
PoliticsRe: Gbomo Jomo (Henry Okah's Brother) Is Arrested? by MT: 10:39pm On Oct 19, 2010

PoliticsRe: Facebook President Goodluck Congratulates Uti Of Bba5 . . . by MT: 10:25pm On Oct 19, 2010
Having read all comments on this thread, I think I will have to agree with Sagamite on this - BBA is just like a cartoon.

I watched the programme and I must say GEJ (in my own view) should not encourage Nigerian youths to emulate UTI.

UTI was full of childish arguments, and in an extreme case, threatened to beat up a fellow housemate. He had to be restrained.

UTI's win should not becloud our sense of judgement. CHIDINMA of ''Project fame west Africa'' deserves louder applaud compared to UTI - at least she showcased her innate talent and skill to win. She was a delight to watch at that very youthful age.

I would have loved it if someone that displays high level of intellect represents Nigeria and wins. UTI was damn childish in the BBA house!Best of luck with his dough tho
PoliticsTokyo Reinstated As Nurtw Chairman : Beginning Of The End For Gov Akala ? by MT(op): 1:49pm On Aug 08, 2010
Having reinstainted TOKYO as the NURTW chairman in Oyo State yesterday, will that be the beginning of the end for Gov Adebayo Alao Akala or end of the end ?.

Knowing fully well that Tokyo and Akala are no more on the same page, and that Akala was instrumental in removing Tokyo from his position as the chairman of Oyo state NURTW.

The only hope for Akala to get his second term is thorugh the thugs (NURTW members) and never through a credible election.

Now that the odds seem stack against this bling bling governor, is there any other way out for him or is it time for him to milk the Oyo state treasury dry and start packing his bag out of Agodi govt house?

May God bless you Obiem for the post.

To be honest, English Language is sweet WHEN our dearest first lady has not spoken it. I have listened to her speak so many times, and believe me, apart from being heavily-accented, she is far from the mark. I dont claim to be an authority in the mastery of English Language, but I suppose if blunder will be made, it should not be in the class of Mrs Jonathan. It's simply not acceptable at that level.

I beg, what happens to her case with EFCC?. Just asking o undecided
PoliticsRe: Murder: I’m Ready To Face Trial — Alao-akala by MT: 8:58pm On Jul 29, 2010
Akala is a disaster to humanity, not only Oyo state. Thank God the court has asked his thugs (in the name of NURTW) to vacate the Oyo state NURTW chairmanship seat. He has been using these NURTW members to committ atrocities.

Akala, a.k.a Mr  Pig, your days in office are numbered!. Teachers, Judiciary, Doctors are all on strike, and the remaining govt workers are poorly paid. May God punish Akala in this generation and in the world to come.

PoliticsRe: Gov Alao-akala 60th Birthday: Another Attempt To Loot by MT(op): 10:01pm On Jun 04, 2010
He has used all Oyo State money to buy Tura and Hot Movate.
lol!. Not only that, he is actively using public funds for personal campaign.

For instance, all the taxis that he claimed he bought for the graduates to be driving as means of employment are heavily adorned with his pictures and names. Tell me if Gov. Fashola has his name, not to talk of his picture placed on any of those luxurious buses plying BRT lane in Lagos.

Also, the shabilly-constructed fence at Iwo Road garage has the inscription "Oyato Governor for 2011".

Not to talk of the annoying bill boards being erected every day.

Oyo state seriously needs a change !
PoliticsRe: Gov Alao-akala 60th Birthday: Another Attempt To Loot by MT(op): 9:23pm On Jun 03, 2010
@Canuck

Akala was never voted, he was rigged into the office by the late rigger himself - Alhaji Ariyibi Adedibu.

Now that Adedibu is dead, Akala has resolved to emptying the treasury to realise his ambition for another term.

What baffles me is that, Akala knew that the roads were bad and he chose to neglect the roads, (including the one that leads to the Governor's office), till Jonathan was to arrive when he then deemed them fit for patching.

Akala is such a retard !
PoliticsRe: Gov Alao-akala 60th Birthday: Another Attempt To Loot by MT(op): 8:26pm On Jun 03, 2010
@bluetooth,

Its an eye witness account and no source is thus needed, but if you insist on one, a passage via Ibadan will be considered most appropriate.
PoliticsGov Alao-akala 60th Birthday: Another Attempt To Loot by MT(op): 12:36am On Jun 03, 2010
I witnessed events unfolding in Ibadan today and I must say that Alao Akala is an IRRESPONSIBLE governor ever experienced by Oyo state.

The bleached-skin governor was hurriedly patching all the roads in the state (which had been neglected since he fraudulently became Oyo State governor), simply because President Jonathan would be coming to Ibadan for his birthday. The road construction patching company caused heavy traffic today as they were hurriedly going about their businesses.

The only thing that this governor is noted for is his penchant for party. The last time he celebrated his birthday, he moved the party train to 3 different countries - UK, Ireland and Canada. Now another opportunity has presented itself for him to loot the treasury again. You can NEVER find Akala in any meaningful event, he will always send representative because he has got nothing to offer, but he always fully represent in any party, even if its a day-old chicken funeral ceremony.

All this jamboree is linked with his second term ambition which he wants to achieve by all means. The only thing that Oyo state can show for his administration is loads of his campaign billboards. I hope Jonathan will inauguarate those as well.

While Lagos state daily celebrates progress, he continues to daily loot Oyo state treasury!

Mr Akala, Oyo State is tired and sick of you. It's time for you to move to PRISON !!! for milking Oyo state dry
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Total Oil Interview Any Idea On The Format? by MT: 8:15pm On Jun 01, 2010
@Bordeaux,

It seems you didnt get what I was suggesting. Since you claimed that you have done the test and interview in the UK, I was suggesting that you should share the format of what you encountered during the two with the peeps in the house.

I believe there will be people on this forum that will also respond to your question.

While dont you share your experience with us about the test and interview conducted in the UK. I guess this will be of immense benefits to a lot of people and I hope people with previous experience of total interview will react to your query accordingly.

All the best!

I dont think pafun deserved to be tongue-lashed. It depends on the way you view his comment.

I think I get a good picuture of what he's trying to paint. He might have made little mistake in presenting his case, overall I guess he has made a very good point.

Should we be insulting people anytime we dont agree with their views and opinions ?. I guess thats wrong. Its fast becoming a culture on NL.

There are better, matured ways of airing opinions without insulting other parties.

Well said. The reflection of the larger environment is here to see on Nairaland. It is so sad! huh
Christianity EtcRe: The Expressway Churches by MT: 12:45am On Feb 03, 2010
@ Canuck
Credit card is not synonymous with DEBT; it is purely a mode of payment.
I disagree with your opinion and I believe you know that it does not translate to insulting your sensibilities.

Credit Card is a mode of payment - Accepted, but in this scenario, not the right mode to use. Credit Card is meant to be a last resort. You enjoy free interest for sometime, after which you will be slammed with high interest rate. If you are liquid enough, why would you choose that path ?. What happens to your debit card. You can withdrawal money from your account using debit card and there wont be any urgency to return it.

Credit Card comes with urgency, failure of which high interest rate will be paid. Ask yourself this question, why will people that are struggling be made to become desperate ?. Why putting undue pressure on people that are already stressed beyond their limit ?.

The God we serve is not that wicked!

While I do not ask you to see it my way, we should try to condemn what is not appropriate, even if it stares us hard in the face or affects us personally.

That is one of the ways  to help others who are being deceived all in the name of religion.

I state again Churches asking members to pay tithe with credit card is not only ungodly but criminal in nature

I am a born-again christian and I believe my Pastor is a true man of God
Pls dont vouch for anybody except yourself. I can never presume anybody "innocent" till it is confirmed by the almighty

@All,

I can see that discussion on this intelligent article is taking another dimension. Some people are already feelin that their religion are under attack. Pls, let us be liberal in the way we think. I am a christian and nothing changes that, but being a xtian doesnt make me gullible. There is a need to use our God-given intellect to leave this world a better place.

Enough is enough, it is a fact that most of the pastors in Nigeria are using the "Fear" factors to milk people dry.

For instance, a very popular denomination in London (Nigeria Owned) printed a message on their Tithe envelope that people can pay their tithe using credit card. Is that not appalling ?. Church pushing people into debt in order to make their own version of God happy. What do you call the congregration that doesnt question that - gullible or not. Be the judge

This is a real wonderful piece.

I cant but agree with the writer, especially as it relates to NIGERIA!.

Millionaires Pastors and Imams are being made at the expense of the strugging masses and people have been brainwashed to jettison their reasoning and be waiting for divine miracle.

While I acknowledge God in all I do, I refuse to be led stupidly by most of these men of God who are in the constant business of claiming to know the mind of God.

I will love to be "GOAT" in the the context of the article wink
