tonicyril:You are thinking this way because you grew up in Nigeria - a very toxic society. |
Haveyoueatentod:Don't be fooled. Both of them were in the know. It was a paddy paddy arrangement |
Dude always creating fake story to stay relevant. |
Truths9ja:So, Wizkid is this dull. |
PlayMaker14:If the western nations have not perfected the art of debt culture, what do you think will become of them? What you are seeing in the western nations are illusion of debts, where 80% of your physical asset is owed to banks. It's a bubble |
1TrippleCee:I was not agitated, just telling you the fact. Brits wanted to leave EU?? Chuckles ![]() |
Damian911:His reign was forever tainted as the man who organised the referendum to exit Brexit, which UK has never recovered till date. He was unhappy about how things turned out and hell bent to leave a better impression in people's thoughts, hence the reason he picked up this appointment. He left his PM seat as a defeated man, and would forever be known as the person who led the UK out of its largest trading bloc which they are still struggling with till date. |
descarado:You don't need to spin the story to be forcibly correct. You asked for resources, and I gave you resources from scholarly sources, including the BBC. Were you claiming to know more than BBC and the other scholarly resources ? Were you questioning how they arrived at their conclusions? Get it or not, a black man will work as twice (if not more) than his white counterparts to reach the same pedestals. You have an absurd sense of humor to state the bolded. |
UDOKABESTLUV:I lost count how many times NLC has called for strike since Tinubu became the President. It's time for Tinubu to wield the big stick and stop pampering this charlatans |
descarado:I think that question is not necessary. You asked for resources and I gave you more than one. Let's discuss about the real issue. Where you live is not important. |
descarado:I do not need to be told to know what I have witnessed happening first hand. Even seeing just your names sounding foreign might be the reason you are not invited for that interview. It is something you have to experience if you have ever lived in a western world. It is an open secret. White folks do not grapple with the same challenges bedevelling black folks in a white man's environment. This can't be argued out. Let me even give you a quote from one of the write ups from the BBC: "While 24% of white British applicants received a call back from UK employers, only 15% of ethnic minority applicants did. Compared to White British applicants, people of: Pakistani heritage had to make 70% more applications Nigerian and South Asian heritage 80% more applications Middle Eastern and north African heritage 90% more applications" So, holding the same passports as the white folks do not expose you to the same type of privileges. It is an illusion. You can NEVER enjoy the same level of treatment For the resources you ask for, here are just few, if you have the patience to read: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-46927417 https://www.theatlantic.com/education/archive/2014/08/black-men-need-more-education-to-get-the-same-jobs/375770/ https://www.bbc.com/worklife/article/20210707-the-highs-and-lows-of-an-inherited-work-ethic https://www.brookings.edu/articles/the-challenges-facing-black-men-and-the-case-for-action/ https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/jun/09/everyday-racism-america-black-white-spaces https://www.pewresearch.org/social-trends/2016/06/27/on-views-of-race-and-inequality-blacks-and-whites-are-worlds-apart/ |
Calitoscassius:I care less if you are in the UK or not. Whenever you come to public forum to air your view, no one cares about your claim. Just address the subject matter with empirical fact. Quit bragging about being born in the UK, no one cares about that. It is not anybody's meal ticket. |
Calitoscassius:I don't really know what you found funny in reeling out names of places you could google out on the internet. I will take it at face value and accept all your claims. So, if you do not know that a black man will need to work twice as the whites to achieve the same level in the western nation, then I do not know what to say to you. A born black British is at a higher pedestal than immigrant from Africa because of the diction and the fact that he has absorbed the culture from the cradle. With all your claim about being born in the UK, English people will still tell you you can NEVER be an English. Britain is quaking under uncontrolled immigration which is not good for the citizens and the immigrants. Immigrants are struggling, especially the low skilled one in the UK. |
KingOfAllIgbos:I agree with you that they will take care of undesired migrants. They are acting like fools now, approving almost all the visas. Individuals have grown so complacent and think the brits are stupid. British cannot accommodate all of them to get ILR, where they will have access to benefits. The errors that they have overlooked while approving the visa will still be revisited. Everything to deny the immigrants ILR after working 5 years as carers will be activated by them. That I am sure. |
Israel07:It's so unfortunate that this is the quality of individuals we have now - hiding behind internet to say rubbish. You sound like a person laid on the rock and hatched by the sun. Tell me if you are the president of Nigeria, what you will do differently. You dont even know the economics behind governance - It is hard to govern half baked illiterates. |
Damian911:You are comparing a country that has her own stability, a member of G7 with a developing nation with her attendant challenges? Be objective in your comparison. What was Cameron's signature objective during his reign. Mention just two. Apple and Banana are fruits but starkly different. |
Mccullum:Even few weeks ago, Sunak referred to Cameron as part of the failure of the past. The reality is the world is suffering from genuine intellectuals. The quality of education has plunged all over the world. Sunak has nowhere to turn but to ask the person he referred to as a "failure" for help. |
Damian911:Are you implying David Cameron was better than Tinubu just based on the color of their skins. Why dont you embark on objective analysis of the two, instead of this claim without basis |
KingOfAllIgbos:When Great Britain was conquering nations, they had quality leaders. Now, they have people like Boris Johnson. There is a global dearth of quality leadership, reason why individuals like Trump could be president in the United States. Today, it was announced that starting from 2025, people with mental and physical disabilities would be forced to work in the UK, and that UK would save over 5 billion pounds. UK is under immense financial pressure. |
Calitoscassius:I dont know from which side of the divide you are typing from. Braverman was the one that stopped the dependants. The Student route with dependants was opened under Boris Johnson, and Braverman was not in the mix of things as at then. You could not blame her for that. He wanted to enforce taking asylum seekers to Rwanda. Who says people cant struggle to get a job in the UK ?. People are already struggling to get jobs in the UK. Maybe you listen to hearsay from people and you have never been there. |
What does he sing that qualify him to win international accolade. Who did he compete against? Arranged award |
KingOfAllIgbos:She has always been doing the right thing but the Brits hate her for been an Indian. UK is an island and she was trying to help manage UK immigration. The rate at which immigration is going in the UK, even legal paper holders and citizens will struggle to get jobs. |
Malroux:Your mates are getting jobs in Nigeria, even getting poached by foreign companies with full relocation package. When you refused to be serious in school, the hen has come home to roost. Deal with it. |
Malroux:To you, school is a scam. Yes it will be a scam to individuals like you who passed through schools without getting educated. In your heart of heart, will you consider yourself richly educated or you just went to school to pass time? Cheating during WAEC, Sleeping with lecturers through schools, joining cults and threatening lecturers, cheating during exam will only lead to this unfortunate end. If you are well educated, opportunities abound. The world is looking for problem solvers, not paper tigers. |
Kingpele:Mr Economist, so Nigeria should continue to subside dollars and fuel like all previous administration thereby depleting our foreign reserve ?. When all the previous governments were doing that, where did it lead us as a nation. It's only a mad man that continues doing things same way and expects different results. That new Nigeria we all seek must first come with unbearable pain before it starts to get better |
ogododo:Punch Newspaper always happy to share gloomy headline about Nigeria |
Must every election ends up in court? This is not how democracy should be practised. This is becoming disgraceful |
Tell this guy - Obi - that as a Nigeria President, your power is NOT absolute. Legislators have their own budget and as a President, you do NOT have control over it. It is an impeachable offence to attempt to arrogate powers that do not belong to you as the president. He needs to take a course in the power of presidency. |
I am into IT and I hate this deep learning. Empowering machine to act like human is horrible. I watched the discussion between UK Prime Minister (PM) and Elon Musk where Musk said AI can do EVERYTHING. And Sunak said they would enact some regulations to ensure humans can still get jobs in some areas but Musk said to the PM face....... UK, US, China, Russia and other western nations pretend to regulate AI but underneath they are all working tirelessly to be the first to carve a niche for AI in their respective markets. This meeting happened this week. The future looks bleak as I wonder what humans will be doing when machines can do everything . And in a capitalistic world, machines will always get the job. https://www.ft.com/content/3b3845b0-0102-47a0-ba58-03ef4d5b69da |
chisomkachy:This NLC has spiraled out of control. A partisan NLC leader, openly rooting for a Labour Party, has ridiculed the union. Tinubu ought to put this Ajaero in his place once and for all. |
Dayvidoo:Is this news meant to inspire the next generation of wannabe fraudsters or what exactly ? Nairaland Admins ought to stop posting this to the front page. You can ban me for saying the fact, I care less. |
STEWpid:Saraki, just like Atiku and Obi, can NEVER be Nigeria President. It is an effort in futility. Ilorin indigenes getting back their loots through poorly packaged tech training. |

So Tinubu is better than Cameron right? You're missing a vital mental organ no cap
