I'm really shocked at the level of negativism (I hope I'm correct) on this thread.  What do u guys mean here/  There are better pilots here in 9ja and I mean it.  Let me tell u something, if that thing had happened in Nigeria, say Lagos, in less than a minute, help (in the form of fishermen) would've arrived, only that u get to hear the news and see the pictures first on CNN before our local stations. grin

9ja for life.
good stuff

we would have used our yatch/hotel as rescue boat the way water taxi's were used.

I want to say a big PRAISE THE LORD for sparing the lives of 155 people. May his name always be glorified. How could you be very sure that 9jia could be as bad as you had published here? too quick to jumping into conclusion. What happened was just an act of God and not the pilot of which God in his infinite mercy could grant any pilot in 9jia such grace.

Talking about the inefficiency of the rescue team in 9jia, you can't be too sure when it comes to issues like this. This is not a case of armed rubbers rubbing some where and the police was notified, this is a total case of humanity. remember, necessity is the mother of invention. though i'm not comparing the efficiency of US rescue team to the one of 9jia.
the crashes in naija that didnt end favorably were acts of God too. to show he can do as he pleases.

if na for port hacourt, they would be rescued by MEND and taken hostage right after.

the Cameras can tell difference between igbo and cigarette, right! right!!
Of course because their wraps are totally different.
it could be tobacco in the wrap or is that illegal as well.

the camera can also help track people selling at oshodi market after their eviction. it can identify which car is stolen and which one isnt.

a plane just crashed into the river. assuming this happened in lagos and was caught on LAGOS camera, do we have the support system in place to get all on board out of the water on time, not to talk of icy water like it is in this case. are they equipped enough to get 150people out of the water, freezing or not in 20 minutes, so they dont have to deal with hypothermia ati be be lo.

those are my kweshuns.
PoliticsRe: Counting The Cost Of Bad Roads To Lives And Nigeria's Economy by mustafar1: 7:34pm On Jan 15, 2009
its not just the roads. nigerians driving habits helps act as a catalyst to what the bad roads are capable of doing.

PoliticsRe: Lagos Launches 24-hr Surveillance Camera Operation by mustafar1: 3:48pm On Jan 15, 2009
Nobody is hoping for this project to fail. we are only helping point out things that if done would enable it succeed.

there are camera's stationed on carter bridge, a car looses control, flips a few times and ends up in the water because there are no guard rails on the bridge to help hold it back. by the way, all this was caught on camera. what would be the advantage of catching it on camera while it happened, if LASAMBUS, cannot reach the scene in the next 5 minutes, to get the victims out of the water before they drown, lets assume the impact of the flips wasn't enough to take their lives. by the way, non of the LASAMBUS service personnel knows how to swim.

before projects are executed, you cover all bases. equipping an ambulance service by buying equipment is not the alpha and omega of things. equipping them with the needed training is what would better assist. what is the use of a semi automatic weapon provided to police when the handling officer doesnt know how to unlock it when it gets jams in a crisis situation.

they do not have to consult US on matters of security, they didnt consult u before they made laws against carrying liquid onto a plane. or before searching ur bags at the airport for contraband and making u walk thru metal detectors.

rant over, what they need to do is think of all the possible ways a project could be flawed and address them before executing such. it is part of the planning process.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Launches 24-hr Surveillance Camera Operation by mustafar1: 9:30pm On Jan 14, 2009
The deterrent factor is enough to reduce crime in Lagos dramatically!

Cameras are rarely used to catch thieves. Their main purpose is to serve as a deterrent!
DETER WHAT! ok maibe but very very minute. if its to deter crime, then they might as well install dummy camera's on every street. i t would sure cost a lot lessssssssssssssss.

Mr. Lucab, , why r u comparing how we come about orange juice and how orange juicy is used. theres a difference between giving up on nigeria and what we are doing.

PoliticsRe: Lagos Launches 24-hr Surveillance Camera Operation by mustafar1: 7:30pm On Jan 14, 2009
hehehe, the cameras must be solar powered(because nepa/phcn would not provide power), have night vision capability (because light no go dey where we dey use am watch), must have a supporting system to assist our birds eye view system for it to be useful(because the camera cant make arrests by itself), in case theres a crime in progress on GTB and SKKYE bank on ALLEN, we must make it possible for the men in black to arrive at the scene in good time (it taking 30minutes to travel between toyin street/opebi junction and allen roundabout by the RRS means they would arrive at the 'BBQ' late).

hopefully those monitoring the camera's would be disciplined enough to focus on crime and not zooom in on female back sides and barely hidden chests. trust me it(the cameras) can zoom something 150 meters away to make it seem like its "SHAKING" right in front of ur eyes. grin

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martyr

The term martyr (Greek μάρτυς martys "witness"wink is most commonly used today to describe an individual who sacrifices his or her life (or personal freedom) in order to further a cause or belief for many

But if i am wrong in the context with which i am using the word, i just hope u get the drift. I am no Linguist u know. wink
Guy, I'm not scolding you or anything. the way it was used just simply made it possible to interprete it otherwise. anyway at least u understood what i was pointing at, some people for don respond talk say make i carry my oversabi leg comot while they keep trying to get minds confused

May God safe us from hell ooo. Naija na hell thats why we have people like OBJ,IBB any many more leaders of hell. The Satanic leaders. Hell and Paradise get different parts according to the holy books. The whole africa is a Hell and the west and asian paradise, So West is the capital of paradise and Nigeria capital of hell
and ur reason for this is postulation is based on?
PoliticsRe: I Hereby Renounce My Nigerian Citizenship by mustafar1: 9:57pm On Jan 13, 2009
would it make a difference if i point out that, an individual doesnt make himself a martyr. his deeds, actions is what prompts people to put him or her in the martyr realm after they most likely have passed.

in politics change comes in two ways from the top i.e good leadership or from the bottom i.e through people revolution . nigerian will have to make a choice which one appeals to them.
and that is where the whole bruhaha originates from. why cant we fire it from all angles, we get ourselves good leadership and as well fix our own numerously uncountable faults. they say ,"u cant eat ur cake and have it" but i refuse to attend that school cos i absolutely think we can fry our cake and bake it too.

by the way some of you might already think im loco. its a good sign and i hope to infect as many ppl i can with it.

PoliticsRe: Is Nigeria The Capital Of Hell? by mustafar1: 9:35pm On Jan 13, 2009
even if we change Presidents, governors, house of reps members, state senators, federal senators, ministers, commisioners, theres no guarantee things would change if the general nigerian attitude towards things do not change. e.g. keeping silent while being oppressed because, i no wan die, i no wan wound, i no wan quench, i get one child, mama dey for house, papa dey for house, etc etc etc.
