^^^ Your head dey there. It appears some of us don't know our worth as graduates. There are always sectors for skilled, semiskilled and unskilled labor. Let's continuing comforting ourselves with the present anomaly - it's only a bubble that'll burst soon. |
iBet he will try to justify why subsidy should be totally removed. He will remind us that last year during his campaign, he 'advertised' that Nigerians did not bother about fuel scarcity and queues as they are suffering now! He will tell us how PMS has increased to NGN120 from NGN65. Well, last year we ended up with 65. We started the year with 140. It is now 120 so we are bracing up for 2013 fuel price. Subsidy this, subsidy that. Subsidy dem mama, subsidy dem papa too - 200 million mumu. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMWUS1W_ITc&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DdMWUS1W_ITc |

^^^Thank you. I've noticed how success has gradually been linked with mega money. Considering the job hazards, this is a misuse of such a person's intellect and one word can only represent it - UNDEREMPLOYMENT A situation in which a worker is employed, but not in the desired capacity, whether in terms of compensation, hours, or level of skill and experience. While not technically unemployed, the underemployed are often competing for available jobs.Methinks some of the commentators have a little idea or maybe a skewed idea of what earning a PhD entails. It's disappointing to note that such a person has no 'career set'. I've maintained that there's dignity in labor but the bubble will only burst when those who don't have degrees have their jobs being taken over by graduates et al - we can push them out, but only for a limited time. It's pertinent to note that this issue pops out at a time that a report was just released that there are insufficient amount of PhD holders in our tertiary institutions (Headline of Guardian today). Certificates are only hard copy evidences of your 'soft resources' - I still maintain that such a PhD holder was probably researched upon and not the other way round. |
duality: the issues i have with all these is that he was in PDP before now. the same PDP that is always vilified. now he's now employed by ACN. Tomorrow, some will call PDP a killer party and urge us to vote them out. and probably vote in ACN.Permanent interest my friend. . . He lost his ticket to return to the house under the ACN. |
Series22: Muslims dey fall hand o... Could this be inferiority complex?Obviously, you're unaware this topic stemmed from this - Why Are Muslim Imams Not Buying Private Jets? |
As usual, there 'll always be the conscious and consistent attempt to give muslims the rank of terrorists and bash people's faith - what is even more laughable is when such ignorant statements are 'gullibly' accepted as truth e.g. the 72 virgins nonsense, funding terrorism etc. How does funding terrorism relate to Imams? Where's the logic in alluding to the Imams as poor, then taking comfort in the skewed logic that these poor people can fund expensive agendas? The delight in bashing people's religion especially with false evidences (misrepresentation) makes you a hypocrite yourself. Anyway, it's said that there's a clear difference between ignorance and knowledge. It's no surprise why some people would rather listen to BH as those who can validly represent muslims or Islam than to seek the answers from Islamic scholars - the orgy is masturbating to such people (permit me to use the word). DC Trendy: U cant expect a pastor with a busy schedule, with Diary booked almost 2 years in Advance,This is amusing. Please don't come with the excuse that you're not catholic. If the pope, a 'busier' man flies Alitalia, then this excuse of yours is flawed. What assurance do you have that the '2 years in advance' are gonna be lived by you? @topic Continuing from the last question, this world is all but the 'dunya' - as much as man wants wealth, in Islam, he'll be responsible for his properties and how he had been able to distribute his wealth to those who needed it in life. The impression that one must have a lot of money in this world is skewed - it adds to your responsibilities. Islam teaches contentment: Wealth is considered an important means by which man can pave the way for the attainment of his ultimate objective. Islam refers to wealth as “good”, an object of delight and pleasure, and a support for the community. Conversely, involuntary poverty is considered as undesirable. This particular conception of wealth, however, is qualified in terms of earning, possession and disposition of wealth.Islam discourages laziness and begging too. Using the present Nigerian context, except such a person has an airline in his normal course of his daily business, owning a private jet would be seen as irresponsible - however, it's his personal convictions (I highly doubt if the fear of the dunya will make the Imam do this), Islam places responsibilities on us as individuals and some choose to adhere while some choose to neglect - everyone shall account on the day of judgement INDIVIDUALLY. That's the more reason why Islam is different from Muslims. |
hillsate: Thats the problem with you and your boss Okupe, you have no understanding of anything and you have oligorrhoea. My bosses Okupe? Wow! Such hasty conclusion. So, by giving my opinion about an individual, you've successfully deduced he's my boss! O ga o. Dis NL pipul sha What is Doyin Okupe? Who is XYZ? What is Nairaland? Haven't NLders posted that for long in different topics? It's become trite in my opinion and that's it. Phew. Whatever happened to search engines? |
Sarcasm? It's become trite jare. What is or who is? Like seriously How did suchperson ever get here? It's a failed joke ![]() |
We can keep deceiving ourselves with 'comforting lies' but our system is abnormal - I'm an advocate of dignity in labour but we seem to have forgotten the word UNDEREMPLOYMENT. What about those unskilled labour that the graduates et al are phasing out? People's skills ought to be matched with their knowledge and experience. For all I care, this is a mismanagement of our human resources. From brain drain to this. . . Smh |
pls pple wat is doyin okupe
Please 'person' find out when to use 'what' and 'who' - 'what' is for non-living things in that context while 'who' is for living things. iHiss@Topic - DOYIN OKUPE imo is the man that keeps government in the news and instead of endearing government's actions to the people, he seems to be very professional at causing more harm to an already 'harmed' image of a government than good. He sometimes says the right things at the wrong times and I align with the Senate + Rep's media rep view that he should be careful of his utterances. Abati is actually not a noise maker, hence the man has lived up to his name as an 'attack dog' - the government seems to believe it needs to bombard unconvincing views/arguments on the people through him. iBet a man called Jonathan would have done a better job than him. ![]() |
Nkemika: iokay how does that workYour phone case is just plastic or warreva - it's a simple thing changing it. The engine of the phone has been changed - the reason you have another pin. It's another phone in reality. |
This was what I expected but no one posted it! Nothing beats this one - Pandemonium as lady pours faeces on cashier inside banking hall She just killed business for that day! |
honeric01: The world is only going to turn worse when good people refuse to speak out and act!True! Otherwise, the lie shall be consistently written + read to become the truth. |
There has been a consistent attempt to tarnish the image of GMB without facts. One doesn't need to like him but inventing, twisting and even fantasizing about what you'd want an individual to be is simply pathetic and akin to slander. The first was to allude the "ungovernable" stuff to him when the records are still available about what utterances Kaita, Ciroma, Atiku and the Northern group/NPLF made. Now, he renounced an offer by a faceless group and they're still blaming him like he's the one that was elected to provide security. Abeg. Let FG do what they were elected for and stop blaming winchy winchy + throwing stones for your failures. |
Logicboy03: lol.....you make no senseAnd that's not a logical deduction Mr.. Logicboy ![]() You just can't be writing Ho as Highlight Btw, I don't wanna derail this thread but just take the message and 'left matter'. |
Zeddicus: On one occassion, the guy was bold enough to ask me what LMFAO meant as I was chatting with one babe oblivious of the fact that someone was reading our chat!Ahan why nau? I just LMFAOed at this ![]() One thing that has been observed is a lack of public etiquettes here - peeps seem to take things for granted and tend to play it down with "na only you do this and that?" etc For those who litter, please don't eat or drink such stuff if you know you won't dispose ofc the wrappers/containers properly - even the manufacturers beg you and still display an image of 'Dispose Off Properly', 'Keep Nigeria Clean' etc - even for those who can't read, the image of a bin + a (wo)man is there. iHiss It even gets worse when private car owners or passengers throw things outta the window - gross indecency. These are the same people who'll abuse their government for 'this and that' whilst still contributing to more 'these and those'. Whilst the car owner is the owner of the property, I'd say is a 2-way thing. There are some passengers you don't roll with but it's the radio that kills the 'suspense' - increasing the volume to incredible levels is similarly disrespectful to the occupant except such a person acedes to ig or is a 'party rider' like the driver. For a city like Lagos, maybe the 'banging the door' mentality is as a result of the 'rush rush, no suegbe' kinda atmosphere of Lagos - even in public vehicles, you must always be gingered ni shaaaaaa! Why would a passenger wanna put his or her feet on the dashboard? That's outright bunkum nau! Moreover, even if the person na your friend, that's a shortcut to attempting Liu Kang's steps during an accident - use your seat belts!!! I don't like dirt generally anyway, but sometimes it's impossible for passengers not too import dirt with their shoes. The level of accomodation depends on the type of passenger but respect is mutual; some things are tolerable whilst some aren't and that doesn't necessary connote pride. Even in public vehicles that you've paid for your fare, you cannot do as you like just because you have paid for the conveyance - so, give Shina what is unto Shina. |
omosexy1: ICAN is scared of becoming irrelevant and losing revenue to foreign qualifications. Already employers are accepting these same qualifications as par with ICAN. The move is a welcome development. However, I wonder what it would do to make ICAN relevant.Actually, this move by ICAN has been in the offering since last year. From what I personally aware of, awon baba yen are aware of competition especially these days that Nigerians are opting for ACCA especially when one considers the flexibility of the exams + the ability to attend the 'crash course' after earning ACCA. When ACCA visited Nigeria to partner with ICAN, the latter tried to 'review' her syllabi up-to-date but just like ICAEW, what ICAN is doing now is to 'prove levels' lol. One must not say ACCA too did not come without the aim of 'ko won l'obe je' - na both parties want seek mutual benefits via their partnership. IFRS is now compulsory, so there's no choice about that but despite that, I know what obtains presently in the PE 2 and it's still not at par with ACCA's professional level - P1 to P7 is touche. We also know why ICAN started leaning towards case-study like questions and some of the recent questions were ACCA adopted. There's no biggie in it - if you want to work in Nigeria as an audtor, ICAN wants you to know the Nigerian laws, hence, the requirement but we know say "all na wash" jare ![]() CAMA 1990 btw only permits ICAN members to perform statutory audits. But like a poster wrote, it only takes ammending acts. However, na ICAN o, na ACCA o, na ANAN o, na APAN o or whatever, the most important thing is how the syllabus is relevant to the ever dynamic world for your competition is not local - think global, act local!!! ACCA is taking her exams to conputer-based 2013 - 2015 as they claim this is a global trend and you cannot claim to be a PA and still be unable to do what your Japanese colleague can do as a fellow PA ![]() So, it's not just about beef but current global standards. ICAN na our own, ANAN too but make we no dey produce or dey do 1990 for 2090. Additionally, the auditor thingy for UK I posted is for those who take P7. |
Ayorinde S: It is a welcome idea. Since the foreign professionasl does not allow ACA direct membership why does they need to be given easy access to ACA.You have to first ask yourself why you're writing some ACCA papers as an ACA. There are some UK schools where their MSc in finance itself doesn't grant them exemption for more than 1 - 4 papers whilst some university graduates are granted exemption for 9 ACCA papers. It's not a matter of beef but standards - what ACCA does is to compare the syllabi and see the areas that have been sufficiently covered to grant you exemption. Why do you think completing the fundamdentals part of ACCA enables you to write the Oxford Brookes BSc project? The ACCA qualification is recognised at least, as being equivalent to a UK degree. It qualifies you as a Registered Auditor in the UK because ACCA is a RSB. Jarus: Long overdue. As an ICAN holder I am writing 5 papers to be ACCA-qualified, but ACCA holders dont write anything before getting ICAN certificate.Similarly, completing the professional level equates to a master's degrees in the UK. It also has some masters degree status, etc depending on the country. In Pakistan for example, it's equal to M.Comm And I know those who'll want to yimu and take it up especially when it gets to the Msc -ish to simply visit accaglobal.com |
Logicboy03: Or do you want to go down in the extremist muslim way of slicing your wife's nose or pouring acid on her face to keep her in line?^^^ Logicboy03: This is the mistake that many people make.<<||>> And I hope the 'quotee' isn't a student of hasty generalization and faulty logic. |
Like iKnew someone would infer on my comment. All the same, for the benefit of those who may be misled, the above reminder is necessary. |
That feeling you havewhen you go to a beautiful mosque. Serene environment, cleanliness et al - pheeeeewwww! iLoff the environs of the Buenos Aires (that's the Argentine one) and Senegalese mosques |
^^^ Don't let us catch you wearing red like 'reading thingz'. :-) Wonder why some mosques don't take it upon themselves to enlighten 'users' of the mosques. If it's mentioned or so in these mosques, these artisans who may have not read or sought knowledge (lame excuse) would have stopped this - this reminds me of the hadith that talked about the actions of the ignorant and that of those seeking knowledge. Na wa o! So guys too dey follow join for this color ![]() About wearing what one would wear outside, often times, artisans (especially mechanics) wear their workshop clothes to the mosque :-/ One imam had challenged them during Jum'ah that they can't wear such to see the governor but find it convenient not to be able to change clothes for salat. |
^^^ Pls upload the pic again. e no show You know it's tight when your legs can't 'breathe' & You know it's tight when you are not free - it won't allow you to jog/run well for example. |

dont8: Unfortunately, I've not met ''49 out of 50 girls'' you just made up with your stats, but fortunately for me; I've met 49 out of 50 girls that are intellectually sound and know what they wanted for themselves. No stress yourself too much.
Thanks jare, as they say likes attract likes! And talking about making the first impression, is it just for ladies or why is almost everyone here talking about naija girls...what about them? I wonder why Nairaland guys are so fond of attacking and insulting ladies with every opportunity they get. The fact that your girlfriend or sis carries 'i never chop' placard about doesn't make every other lady a gold-digger.
|
