^^^ We all knew that anyway. Players do have people they like working with. Mikel would not forget AVB in a hurry so this is where I don't agree with the result-oriented approach at the expense of psychology like they're paperbags and not humans.

Rafael manages short term and Pep comes in - the latter must be taking English classes during this break of his.

All Romanus' coaches have always been INTERIM!

Abramovich sacks the fan favourite, RDM, who won their first ever CL title and replaces him with Benitez who is hated by Chelsea fans. Odd.

CareerRe: Am Being Underpaid As A Web Developer by Mustay(m):
I can feel your plight. I was once into web design at some point and it's weird how your work can be underappreciated.
Leaving sentiments aside, based on what you've written, this job is currently a source of cash flow to you every month so I'd suggest you still keep it.

Secondly, if it's taking so much of your time you don't have, I think that has got to do with you, not your client/employer - it's dependent on how much you manage your time between work
CareerRe: Confused About Choosing Between Two Jobs by Mustay(m): 8:02pm On Nov 21, 2012
It always appear green on the other side.

Your last post just reminds me of the Indian guys that were being discussed on a particular programme this morning - they felt they'd get it better here only to meet different 'wahala' by Nigerian officials to their surprise.

There's nothing wrong in the society free from ills as you claim but have you really given it a good thought?

Because this thread was posted in the career section, K0239's advice is sufficient. The security job doesn't seem appealing to me and it's a misfit to your qualifications - the same way we have physicians cum bankers here.

Don't let the 'know people in high places' sentiment get the better of you in your career. Just do well and your work will speak for you - learn not to tie your knots on some people's collars.
CareerRe: Which Location Is The Best For Your Head Office? 90% Says Lagos by Mustay(m): 7:54pm On Nov 21, 2012
The answer to this question depends on the type of business - the entity must have done some research to determine which place is best for its business then consider the accrued benefits and consequences of such decision.

Some international companies have (moved) their HQs in Islands just because of the tax haven] heaven in such places - so it's more of a strategic decision.

If the costs of being in a particular place outweigh the benefits, it's a no-no.

It's the same way some manufacturing coys relocated from Kano while some moved from Lagos to Ghana cos of power. Localization of industries is also a factor.
CareerRe: The Best Time To Achieve A Lot In Your Career? by Mustay(m): 7:47pm On Nov 21, 2012
Some people feel they must 'hammer' or get to a certain position first before marrying - I want to believe that's where your question is coming from.

Before or after marriage, one needs to manage responsibilities adequately as they come.

It must be noted that before marriage (aka home alone), you're selfish and you do have enough time for yourself and career but this could also backlash and prevent you from having time for your prospective other half - also, people tend to seek a HOME (not a house) to go to after the day's work which a marriage provides for ceteris paribus.
Some people also want to get to a certain level so that when they marry, they have enough time for their children as they have become more like consultants but the reality is YOLO - it is difficult to delay.

So, whichever way you plan your personal + career life, just remember the effects of each one and ask yourself if you can deal with.

Like someone pointed out, RDM was never AB's fancy. Public 'pressure' gave him the continuity letter, however methinks it's not nice changing managers like diapers - players do factor this in deciding whether to stay at a club or join a club. It appears AB was waiting for the 'perfect' opportunity to relieve RDM of his job. RDM was so blunt talking about dropping Torres etc and I was like "ahn ahn, where dis guy been get liver from?" Apparently, he knew his days were numbered.

One Di Matteo - thank you.

AB seems to have his eyes set on Pep whilst a Rafail Beneath-us manages on the interim.

From the club's official website -

The team's recent performances and results have not been good enough and the owner and the Board felt that a change was necessary now to keep the club moving in the right direction as we head into a vitally important part of the season.

The club faces a difficult task ahead in qualifying for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League as well as maintaining a strong challenge for the top of the Premier League while competing in three other cup competitions.

Our aim is to remain as competitive as possible and challenge strongly on all fronts. The owner and the Board would like to thank Roberto for all he has done for the club since taking over in March. Roberto helped guide us to an historic Champions League victory and a seventh FA Cup. We will never forget the huge contribution he has made to this club's history and he will always be welcome at Stamford Bridge. The club will be making an announcement shortly regarding a new first team manager.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Have You Ever Been Falsely Accused : What Was Your Reaction? by Mustay(m): 7:43pm On Nov 20, 2012
aktunde: My dad would never say sorry to any of his child even though he later realized he has beaten you unjustly. Even if its obvious he has realized his own mistake, his face will still portray "and so 4cking what"?. I just hate this. Even if he is feeling too big to say sorry, at least he can show some remorse or find a way of pulling you closer. But for my old man, na lie! He has always been like that even till date.

Between 2007-April 2010, the relationship between my dad and I went so sour beyond our imagination. He told me he needed a broker, and my friend who is a banker recommended a stock broker to me. I connected the stock broker to my dad, and they initiated some stock transactions. Eventually, that stock broker sold some of my dad's shares without his consent, and tried to hide the evidence. He didn't give him his cssc statement for two years so that my dad would't find out. He kept telling him stories. He played my dad till re resigned from that stock brokerage firm and couldn't be traced. He resigned without telling my dad even though he managed my dad's account. By the time my dad eventually got his statement through another stock broker, my dad discovered that lots of his shares had been sold without his consent. His total losses was above 1million naira.

My dad contacted his siblings (my uncles and aunts) and told them I had connived with an outsider to dupe him. I was made a black ship of the family. I couldn't even go near any family member again because they all see me as a dupe. It broke my heart so much that my dad couldn't even trust me again. Only mum mom and siblings maintained their trust in me. Eventually, my elder brother, myself and my dad went to the cscs, the registrars office and the headquarters of the stock brokerage firm. Eventually, we found out the stock broker and the company registrar did the whole harm to my dad.

The most annoying thing is that my dad didn't even say sorry for my name that he had robbed in the mud among the family members. Till date, I'm not even sure he had try to convince his siblings that I am innocent. He just walked away as if nothing happened. I have forgiven him, even when he didn't say sorry or apologies. But I am not sure I love him as much as before again.

"She is fine. In fact, she was at the church service with us today. What happened is that Nigerians are always looking for negative things. Noting bad that she was ill . She received treatment and immediately she came back, she is still recuperating; she couldn’t get very active role. She is okay.”

NYSCRe: Picture Of Corpers Being Punished By Soldiers In Camp by Mustay(m): 9:52pm On Nov 18, 2012
dabossman: I'm not, but I did my primary assignment on a military base after the 3 weeks camp. We were afforded officers status because we were graduates and even old sergeants respected us. I often felt embarrassed when grandfathers called me 'sir' or served me at the officer's mess.

But in that one year I got to appreciate the discipline and the intricacies of the chain of command. Young Lieutenants who were my mates treated us as equals. Your graduate degree is actual respected in the military set up, but not when you are in training, be it short service or NYSC.
Oga, please tell me where in the bye laws that it's permitted for such treatments to be meted out to corpers? Don't equate the cantoment to the orientation camp. The soldiers are merely taking advantage of the corpers' ignorance. Even when you leave camp and you're still serving, you'd only be foolish to let any soldier 'frog jump' you - call it 'mouth' or warreva, but the ignorant person pays for his/her ignorance.

The state coordinator never allowed such a thing to happen. There are camps where things like this happens but there are also camps where the state coordinator reminds the corpers of their rights. Nobody flogs them bros!!!
We need to separate personal sentiments, anomalies in everyday Nigeria from the NYSC act here.

"Government shoe is not your size".
