TY tayo: Deji Badmus will not fit into any other Nigerian station. Well maybe NN24 would do but I will really miss him.NN24 is dead! Check the station on DSTV to see the burial arrangements Multichoice published for them. Well, things will always happen and if someone doesn't leave, we may never have the opportunity to see yet another talent. Truth remains that in Nigeria, the owners remain a large influence. The scenario smacks of lack of 'corporate governance' and improper communication channels in Channels ( what a play with words). I wish him the best and like some have said, he'd surely be hot cake especially for those int'l stations. |
Oh, I forgot to add this one. I'll quote points I share with the writer here - "If Allah’s will was that a Muslim bachelor meets, or personally knows of someone with whom he or she is interested, then he should immediately go to her family about it, preferably the father. Parents should allow their child to have some chaperoned meetings with someone in whom they are initially interested. These meetings should be strictly about learning about each other’s personality and expectations in their spouse. If after a few of these meetings they don’t feel compatible then they should break off all communication in that regard and go back to being a regular Muslim brother and sister. If after praying for Allah’s guidance (istikharah) they feel close and compatible then it is best to get married as soon as possible. There may be a small period of engagement, but even if they are culturally engaged that does not change the fact that in Islam there is no change in their relationship. It is just an inclination to marry down the road which either party can break free from at any time. . . Once a Muslim couple is officially married, they understand that even with compatibility they must work for the rest of their lives to preserve love, compassion, understanding, respect and forgiveness between them. They have entered into a covenant with Allah that carries rights and responsibilities between each other. The basic foundation of that bond is found in the Holy Qur’an in verse 21 of Surah al- Rum" http://www.suhaibwebb.com/relationships/marriage-family/spouse/love-in-islam/ Often-times, my friends do call me 'couch doctor' and I should not expect everyone to have the ability to comprehend and practicalize some of these things but methinks these are just basic fundamentals every Tomiwa, Dickson and Haruna can implement. Moreso, some of us can also talk/counsel to our muslim(ah) community and share knowledge as to the way forward - knowledge is continuous and we usually ignore discussions in our masjids etc that are beneficial to people who need them. http://www.suhaibwebb.com/relationships/marriage-family/spouse/want-your-marriage-to-last-get-premarital-counseling/ http://www.suhaibwebb.com/relationships/marriage-family/content-ever-after/ |
“He can play on either wing and wing and will give the team width. He has good dribbling ability, has pace and is powerful." “We’ve tried very hard to get this player. We like him very much. He’s young and hopefully he’ll be the future of the club.” http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4502967/Victor-Moses-transfer-Roberto-Di-Matteo-says-thanks-to-Wigan.html Am one who's glad VM was signed. Is RDM thinking of him as a Duff-kinda-reminiscence? iGuess so These kinda 'small small boys' are the ones that would trouble wings and defences like pests. Am admiring the transition. Last time I checked, the players out on loan are enough to start another match. My fav amongst them was Kevin De Bruyne. |
One was born 1984 (IK) while the other was 1990 (VM). We've seen more of IK in the national team to put him on the higher ranking for now but one similarity about the both of them is their fighting spirit(s). VM looks like a better Ikedia. Talking 'bout destiny, being in England we can say has helped VM remain in the spotlight which attracted big clubs like Chelsea to launch a bid for him. For IK, his route was from Aba to Owerri to Spanish 2nd division, relegation woes etc. Yet, he's still on loan at Grenada. Well, there are ways to push your luck |
I 'StumbledUpon' these articles some time ago that are relevant to this thread. Being busy na im make me no too get time. I'm a man - obviously but what I do notice in this part of the world (and some part of the middle east) is the effect of male chauvinism head ence, I agree woth @username. Men tend to focus on Islamic teachings that have to do with the duties/responsibilities of women and (perhaps, intentionally or maybe due to their false ego) 'forget' their own part (towards women too).As much as these women have duties, men do have their roles too. Neglecting one for the other is unfair as @username mentioned. Makes me remember a lecture where the speaker mentioned that if Muslim men were living up to their 'Islamic expectations', it would amaze women that all of this talk 'bout gender equality bla bla bla won't exist. To whom much is given, much is expected. |
Good 'un. Good way to 'leave' the league temporarily. Nandos 'll still remain in the spotlight as his old club honors him in the Super Cup. |
#HazardousHazard Hope, some bad belle defenders won't start bookmarking his leg for injury o. |
Lol @Cristalz nastydamus: Relative to this time last season, the tide's changed in our favourTrue. Buh I do remember Once-upon-Scolari season. |
Cristalz: Or you keep meeting sloppy defenders.Or our players need not dive before defenders. |
Hazardous Hazard |
Nice seeing @ChelseaFc buying young players. Transition in progress. For all I care, as long as Moses can run like Ikedia and pass the ball, no wahala. Na so him dey 'japa' https://www.mtnfootball.com/content/victor%20moses%20vs%20chelsea.jpg |

Unfortunately, you can't get whatsapp for your touch pro2Whatsapp keeps upgrading every now and then - very annoying but the deal there is that Whatsapp runs on the Windows Phone platform. If you go to whatsapp's site, they direct you to the marketplace. Maybe someone would try to 'configure' the java version but with the way the whatsapp guys keep updating by compulsion, it'll be difficult to sustain. |
Been wondering too. The assumptions made about the officer at that cadre (although not wrong) were too sweeping a generalisation to make especially when you consider a Nigerian context. We're not all the same; our thought processes differ and no matter how much an ideal society should exist, it'd just remain utopian. |
Couldn't agree more with Babs. Intentions, intentions and intentions is one koko. Moreover, don't fool yourself when tryna fool yourself - as ironical as it sounds, the reality stings. |
EyesWideOpen: I'm one of those ppl dat think they've outgrown the Aso Odun era, LOL.Me sef o! Share your school of thought. Anyway sha, children need it to have something to look forward to |
Getting one is as easy as getting Ghanaian 'Burger King' peanut - visual experience. However, on getting to Ghana the Immigration officer did notice the difference as the guy in front of me had the 'purchased' yellow card while I had my vaccination at the LG (#500), so she used me as a 'case study' for him. She said " You see this (pointing to a part on my card) on this man's own, this is what am looking for". |
When some are crying that Ramadan is going, some can't wait for Eid (Shawwal) to come mehn! Wow, different strokes. My own -ish is with the aftermath of the eid prayer - the sermon. I actually hope we can still fast tomorrow (MyPreference). |
Really worried. This is over one month and Ramadan (29 days of the anchorman's presentation during Ramadan)is nearly over. Terribly sad It's puzzling this journalist of ours has not been found yet and what is even more worrying is the 'dying search' for him in our news media. This is not to say I don't hear some stations (especially LASG stations, MiTV) reminding us of his disappearance but I don't remember the last time a journalist got kidnapped or missing and the media coverage alone sef no make them find am. Quite unusual this occuring in Lagos.Peace |
davidylan: and we shld know because? . . . go look for your missing presenters there.. . .the irony of the religious Nigerian. 'Love' taught mayn't be thought(s). |
To think this is coming during the inquest etc -of the Dana aircrash. . . |
spicy: expecting to receive adequate training from an organization alone is a sign θf laziness! You must take responsibility to give yourself some training, that is why the internet, books and mentors exist!Common sense isn't common afterall but in realism, even some that went through school don't even practise this point, talk less of a GM. -- spicy v: I also want to point to you sir that low level positions are not reserved for people with a lack θf good sense or judgment! Skills that the GM clearly lacked! He also lacked experience, if he at least had adequate experience he sure would not have made such silly and costly mistake!True. Like you raised earlier, with 'little power, comes 'small small responsibilities'. But, funny enough,. without mistakes, he'd have no experience so perhaps, this incident could be one 'costly mistake' that could contribue to his experience(s). Question please, do you really consider that GM's decision as a "high level" decision? No, 'twas just based on instinct. His thought process found it best to consider the request of Mr. Lagbaja as harmless to the rules whilst the other GM thought otherwise; luckily it paid off for Mr. B - but like I pointed out earlier, this is between rules/principles. The rules tell you what you should always comply with while the principles suggest what ought to be done in certain circumstances. |
www.nairaland.com/534849/pls-work-telecom-oil-company Well, let's just always remember, we'll always be 'called' to defend our certificate(s). |
Out of the people of the books he's permitted to marry, one is (better, but for the benefit of not being miscontrued, I'll use)preferrable for him to marry to the other. |
@ last post. What we need are Nigerian stations (based in Nigeria) that have online listening-to presence. Was gonna open another thread to provide the links to each one of them I know but I found out 'TuneIn' has them on its site too. Of the 21 Nigerian stations available, 14 are Lagos-based and you can listen to them live online - http://tunein.com/radio/Nigeria-r101281/ These stations are nowhere to be found (or heard?) in Lagos o - * 90.3 - Craig FM (Lagos + Abuja) * 94.8 - Altitude FM (Lagos) - pop, rock, top 40 * 98.9 - Kiss FM Unfortunately, Nigerian stations (none that am aware of) make use of podcasts. Smh Even VOA sef. |
