rx steve: Dani, you had better love the course wit d whole of your heart or you wanna reject the admission offer? Anybody to answer dis, is PharmD higher than B.Pharm? With PharmD, are you called a Dr. or still Pharm.? The Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) is actually an improvement on the Bpharm degree and was made to address some of the challenges facing the profession as well as keeping up with advancements in patient care as obtainable in more developed countries. In fact, at undergraduate level, the curriculum of both is pretty much the same until the fourth year or so where PharmD begins to place greater emphasis on the clinical aspects of patient care--pharmaceutical care, which is essentially the backbone of the degree. Topics such as therapeutic drug monitoring, the pharmaceutical care process, ADR management are, unlike in the Bpharm programm, treated in greater depth, especially in the final 6th year--yes, the pharm D is actually a six-year program. In addition, students undergo clinical rotation in various hospital, similar to what the medical doctors undergo, only in our case, we are more concerned with current drug therapy the patient is on with a view to making possible recommendations to the doctor. In more developed countries, they are usually referred to as Doctor this or doctor that. |

zebra: @Nugwax that's exactly my problem with NBS, senseless and illogical figures which were cooked and fabricated by them. They dont get to carry out surveys as expected cos of lack of qualified man power and inadequate funds. The statistical system needs overhauling as well as having offices in each LGA headquarters in nigeria. Govt should also employ more qualified statisticians to collect and process data efficiently and on time . Also heard that the stat-gen of nigeria is an economist and not a trained statistician. It's funny. I don't believe its the lack of manpower. There is not just the will, for obvious political reasons, to ensure we have proper statistical system. |

in essence a 'true convert' can never become lost, i.e once saved, forever saved, abi? My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall |anyone| pluck them out of my hand" (John 10:27-28). BTW 'false convert' sounds like an oxymoron to me; if one is not truly converted, he's not a convert, no? |

re@lchange: this is an email going round now
i suspect it prompted this action
IFEANYI UBAH SET TO FIGHT GOV. PETER OBI
Today, it is no longer a secret that the Anambra Oil magnet, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah is set to replace Gov. Peter Obi as the Governor of Anambra State. He has been telling his friends that he was ready to spend whatever it will take to achieve his ambition for which he had set aside the initial N20, 000,000,000 Billion and he is working seriously towards that. To get the support of the people, he has floated a foundation through which he is supporting the poor, building churches, subsidising kerosene, helping the widow and all manner of philanthropy. Chief Austine Ndigwe, (Uzu Awka and Ozo Gidigbam Gidigbam) his right hand man said that Ubah had already secured the support of Rochas Okorocha, whom he made the Governor Single handedly. He said that the Oil magnet is unhappy that his own Governor is not supporting him, but he said they had a good weapon they would use against him if every effort to get his support failed. Uba has the support of the following, who are also on his monthly pay roll for the project: a. Chief Victor Umeh (APGA National Chairman) N10,000,000 b. Chief Austine Ndigwe, Uzu Awka N10,000,000 c. Mr. Alfred Nwosu N5,000,000 Others he feels that may be in a position to help are also on his pay roll, including some vociferous clergy men of all denominations. NOW THE WAR Uzu Awka said Ubah confided in them how Obi would kneel down and beg him at the appropriate time. How he paid N25, 000,000 (Twenty-Five Million Naira) to the former Lagos State Commissioner for Police, Mr. Marvel Apkoyibo to set Obi up. Do you still remember the $250,000,000 (Two hundred and Fifty Million Dollars) and N250, 000,000 (Two hundred and Fifty Million Naira) his people were apprehended with while transporting it from Awka to Lagos. Uzu Awka said that Obi did not know that the ADC in question, was the one Ubah used to do dirty deeds in Lagos and that it was Ubah who planned for him to be sent to Anambra as Obi’s ADC. “The man think he is clever not knowing that Anyi had already paid his former ADC, N3, 000,000 (three Million Naira) for him and his boys to spy at his every move and he succeeded.” he said. What will Obi Need him for? According to Uzu Awka, Ubah informed him that Akpayibo had already given him the entire video of the $250,000,000 (Two Hundred and Fifty Million Dollars) and N250,000,000 (Two Hundred And Fifty Million Naira) episode containing: a. When the money, local and foreign currencies, were loaded in Awka b. When the money was being of-loaded in Lagos c. Where Governor Obi was kneeling down and begging the Police Commissioner to only disclose the Naira component and allow him keep the $250, 000,000 Dollars, (Two Hundred and Fifty Million Dollars), which he agreed after he was given $10,000,000 (Ten Million Dollars) out of it. Uzu Awka boosted that the tape is with Governor Rochas Okorocha, himself, victor Umeh and Alfred Nwosu. Uzu Awka further revealed that they had got the Accountant General of Anambra State, who confirmed that Gov. Obi has one of the cheque books of Anambra State Government in his possession , which he uses to withdraw the money he changes into dollars. He said they also heard how Obi withdrew the sum of 5, 000, 000 Pounds (Five Million Pounds) he said was for the payment of Ojukwu’s hospital Bill, When the actual bill was just 500,000 Pounds (Five Hundred Thousand Pounds). Ubah, according to Uzu Awka, has documentary evidence of all the properties Obi bought in different parts of the world. He went on to name some: a. Block of flat at Dubai bought for $10,000,000 (Ten Million Dollars) b. Block of flats at Singapore bought at $12, 500,000 (Twelve Million, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars) c. A detached building at Atlanta, Georgia at $6,500,000 (Six Million, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars) d. A flat at Manhattan, New York, $8, 250,000 (Eight Million, Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars) e. A Holiday Resort at Bahamas for which he paid $4, 500, 000 (Four Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars) Uzu Awka said the moment Obi knew that Ubah has a lot on him, he quickly visited him in his Abuja home knelt down and begged him not to expose him. Ubah, Uzu Awka said further, was particularly angry that Obi, in spite of his hands of friendship, is bent on handing over to a known drug courier. Ubah’s Plans Uzu Awka revealed how Ubah had concluded arrangement working with the Presidency and EFCC of how Obi’s immunity would be waived for his arrest if he does not support Ubah. He also talked about the arrest of his wife and Commissioners by the EFCC. Uzu Awka talked of how they got Obi’s Commissioner for Finance, Eze Echesi to support them, because he had been promised that he would be retained and made the coordinating Commissioner for the Economy of Anambra State. Anambra’s version of Nigeria’s Okonjo Iweala. He said he had been quite helpful, giving then photocopies of sensitive documents that they will use ti nail Obi’ As for the SSG, who wants to be the Governor, Uzu Awka said the poor man saw the force Ubah was coming with and had already agree to serve as his Deputy instead. Though the man is old, he said it would be strategic to use him and placate his people who were promised to produce the next Governor. Johnson Eze

johnie: Thugs loot Lagos education, district offices By Adegunle Olugbamila 19/01/2012 00:00:00
Like bees, they swarmed on the building, looting. The security-man fled when he saw them coming.
It all happend last Monday at the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) and Inspectorate Unit of Education District V, in Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State.
They came under the guise of being part of those protesting the fuel subsidy removal.
The day had opened with the nationwide strike declared by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the civil society organisations over the policy under the price of petrol, which jumped from N65 per litre to N141. However, things appeared calm until about 10am when a horde of hoodlums suddenly swarmed the streets in the guise of protesting the hike.
But they had a different mission - to loot, and the LGEA was one of the first places visited. The LGEA shares premises with the Ojo chapter of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) as well as the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation licensing unit.
"It was about 10am. The boys numbering about 200 came from Alaba Rago (an Hausa commercial neighbouhood, a stone throw to the building). Immediately, I saw them I ran away because I was the only person here and I knew my strength couldn't match theirs. The thugs then forced the gate opened, smashed some of the windscreens of the vehicles within the premises and then stormed the building destroying everything in sight. They started removing air-conditioners, laptops and desktop computers, flat screen television sets and some commercial motocylces seized by the FRSC.
"Meanwhile, I stayed at a safe distance helpless as the hoodlums looted the building. In the midst of the operation, which lasted for over two hours, I called one of our ogas (boss) on phone to intimate him of what was happening. He immediately alerted the DPO of PPL police station who deployed some of his men. But when they arrived and saw the number of the hoodlums looting the building, they were afraid to move close to them.
"About two hours after, the police arrived with more officers but by this time, the entire building had been looted and the few hoodlums left ran off at the sight of the police."
Deputy Director of the District V Inspectorate Unit, Mr Rufus Adebayo, said the cost of stolen items runs into millions of naira.
Speaking through the district Public Relations Officer, Mrs Yinka Okunade, Adebayo told The Nation on phone that the Education Commissioner, Mrs Olayinka Oladunjoye, was immediately informed of the development, adding that plans are in the top gear to work with the police to fish out the hoodlums.
"The police are aware of this and investigation is still on course," Adebayo said.

mgbidi2013: But the soldiers saved alot in lagos. Do u know wat would have happened if not for the military intervention? By the way must F G consult state gv to take some certain action? You don't get it. The question is not about the usefulness or otherwise of the presence of the soldiers but who authorized their deployment in the first place. The FG, or more appropriately, the army spokesman had claimed it came at the behest of the Lagos government-- a charge which Lagos has denied. So there is a question of integrity here. . .who is lying between them? |
