clintwine: Orinkila, please don't bring God into this, don't know why you would call human beings created by God as Dogs. Has it occurred to you that poverty and ignorance is one of the major reasons why poor people give birth to so many kids.
As a rich man, you can afford to buy condoms and use any form of contraceptives, but any money a poor man gets is into taking care of himself and family, God bless him if his wife is very fertile.
I think many people marry cos they have this feeling that they need someone to complete them. I did remember some years ago, my colleagues were all getting married and i was like "what the heck, are these guys all drinking from the same cup?" and when i was asked when am getting married, i would just laugh cos it never crosses my mind, but i do think am getting ready to marry cos i just find myself thinking about it for no reason. So I know it won't be long, all i need is to wait till i see the compatible one. While i wait, i would just enjoy being single. Abeg make I hear word. The man is soo poor and cannot afford condoms that can be obtained as cheaply as N10/pack. I undestand they are even given freely in some FHI centres. Does poverty also make one take leave of one's senses? Is the man not aware that knacking his wife unprotectedly will bring children into the world? children that he knows he cannot cater for?? IS THAT FAIR IS IT HUMAN ? |

Orikinla: For the glory of God. Because, I DO NOT share the selfish reasons of those who cannot live a normal life without marriage. I keep on repeating that bad marriages are the causes of the corruption, greed and wickedness plaguing Nigeria and the other corrupt and poor countries in the world. Go to the slums of the poor majority, you will see that most of the social problems are caused by dysfunctional families started by bad and wrong marriages. Marriage like religion is a very hypocritical practice among the majority who pay mere lip service to their matrimonial vows. If not for the FEAR OF GOD, I would have been sleeping with the wives of my friends and neighbours. Adultery is very common among them. Married couples do not behave like they are married. That is why I wrote "In the House of Dogs". IF YOU CANNOT BE FAITHFUL AND CANNOT SECURE YOUR FAMILY, PLEASE DON'T MARRY. So that you will not bring your matrimonial failures to disturb others. I hate the sight of married couples in the slums living like dogs. God does not force anyone to marry. Marry, marry, marry! How much is your marriage contributing to our GDP and GNP? Since 2008 to date, I have spent nearly N1 million on helping victims of bad marriages. You married id-i-ots make me sick with your liabilities. My late father married early and left 6 children and I spent over a decade caring for my siblings and that cost me going to a college in Oxford. I worked as a national consultant for the UNICEF and most the programs are for taking care of poor children of poor married couples in slums. Then I was commissioned by the Johns Hopkins University's Population Communication Services as a public health illustrator and translator to produce family planning methods booklets for millions of poor couples in Nigeria to plan their families. But the dogs will continue to breed like dogs and cause more poverty in the society. Many of them cannot even afford to pay the examination fees for GCE/SSCE for their children. One particular case, I had to pay for a pupil and also bought food for the family. Why did all those telling the couple to marry not providing for these dogs? Who gave birth to the over 20 million unemployed youths in Nigeria? Unproductive and under achievers posing and posturing as married couples whose millions of poverty-stricken children are more of liabilities than securities. Only in underdeveloped countries like Nigeria do majority of ignorant people place too much importance on marriage, because that is the best thing they can achieve in this world. Is it not PRIMITIVE that the greatest ambition of majority of Nigerian girls is to get MARRIED? @bolded you harsh o! |

i think it has to do with the prevailing climatic conditions. d
I noticed that during the dry season, the cubes becomes, like OP noted, extremely hard and difficult to break.
but during the rainy season, not only are they usually soft, the cubes may begin to melt even though they've not come in contact with water. |

ghastly a : terrifyingly horrible to the senses : frightening <a ghastly crime> http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ghastly
b: causing great horror or fear http://oxforddictionaries.com/definition/ghastlywithin the limits of the definitions above, I don't think the journalist was too far of the mark to describe the scene as ghastly. nonetheless, the reporter could do with a little a car education: that car is certainly not a CRV. more like a 2008 honda accord. Politics › Re: Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland Election (voting In Progress: ) by muyoto: 9:35pm On Dec 07, 2011 |
Mixed reactions trail the Eze Ndi Igbo elections.
Thisday Newspaper December 5th Publication
The voting has commenced to elect the Eze Ndi Igbo 1 of Nairaland, in what has been discribed by international observers as the worst form of broad daylight rigging in the history of democracy. Our reporters went out and interviewed many Nigerians and observers on what they felt about the proceedings and this is what we got;
Even I am speechless. This is worse than anything I've done. - Maurice Iwu Former INEC Chairman.
With I guy like PointB handling an election in my country, I shall be in power even after I die, because he can make even a dead man win. - Robert Mugabe. Zimbabwean President
As a proud Igbo woman, I am ashamed to associate myself with this sort of charade. Infact this election has given me the inspiration for my new book titled "Pointb is a true SUN of a BEACH" - Chiamanda Ngozi Adichie. Prize winning authour of Half of a yellow Sun.
Laugh wan kill me o!! - Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Even I could have better rigged a football match result using just an Abacus. One word to describe this would be "system failure". - Bill Gates CEO Microsoft.
I am not surprised. The second I heard he (PointB) was incharge, I knew that the elections would be flawed. In 2005 he was arrested for selling fake drugs in Onitsha by Mrs. Akunyili, also arrested by Tafa Balogun for importing sub-standard spare parts at Seme border. He also gave false testimony in court, gained admission into polythecnic with falsified results, was caught buying hard drugs with counterfiet money and then you give him an election to run, OFCOURSE he will provide you with fake results. - Nuhu Ribadu Former EFCC Chairman.
Jesus Christ of Nazareth!! Shocked Did you say election or selection - Mahmoud Ahmedinejad President of the Islamic republic of Iran.
That was not an election. It was a jamboree of frivolous decadence, masqueraded as an election with the sole purpose of enthroning a puppet whose puppeteers would manipulate, exploit, maneuver, steer and gravitate to sway, play and levitate to their malicious melody. The entire Igbo assembly should band together and expectorate the anthropomorphic hoodlums for thier midst before they teleport them back in time to the pre-jurrasic times. - Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon. Senator from Edo State
Where was this guy (pointB) during the PDP Primaries?! I would have won by a landslide victory. - Atiku Abubakar Former Nigerian Vice President and PDP presidential primaries loser.
Tufikwa!! Gini! What election?! that is an aluu, perpertuated by decendants of Osu's - Ohaneze Ndi Igbo spokesman.
Did I hear you say 'Eze Ndi Igbo' election?! I dont think you finished your question. Its is 'Eze ndi Egbo-smokers elections'. - Gov. Perter Obi Executive governor of Anambra State.
Embarassing!! - Seun Osewa CEO Nairaland group
Also, wikileaks has also released damning evidence of moneys paid to the Electoral Commisioner and also copies of invoices and reciept of the merchandises and gift items given to the electoral commisioner by some of the Candidates. The election was done by secret balloting and reports coming out of the Commisions office says that rigging was of epic proportions. A reliable source who pleaded not to be named, told our reporter this; Quote from: reliable source "Ifele na eme'm (i'm ashamed). Maka chukwu ifu ife anya'm fu na this election, anya mmli ga gbapu gi (True to God, if you see what I saw in this election, you'll cry). Ballot boxes where being thumb printed by all manner of creature. A new born baby that was there thumb printed some, when they had ran out of thumbs, they started using their toes. As if that wasnt bad enough, ma ewu, nchi, bussu, nkita, ngwere and even oke (they even started using goats, grasscutters, cats, dogs, lizard and even rats) to paw-print, hoof-print and claw-print. Fa' di very desparate (they are desparate). Obu na aka ochicha bu ibu, ochicha-print aka ga di na the ballot paper (If the hands of the cockroach were bigger, there would also had been cockroach-print on . . .but the guy is a cretin nonetheless. . . my aching ribs |

Politics › Re: Nigeria Is Not Ready For State Police - GEJ by muyoto: 11:14pm On Dec 06, 2011 |
my unwavering antiPDP stance notwithstanding, I have to admit GEJ got it right here.
in this violently fragmented, politically neonatal society like ours, a state police is just what we need to hasten the move towards eventual disintegration.
furthermore, it all boils down funding, no?
Where will the States, a majority of them teetering towards bankruptcy, get the funds from?
only the other day some banks in one the western states had to shut down activities and threatened not to reeopen until something urgently was done to arrest the unrelenting attacks on their premises
the guv'nor's response? something like security is very capital intensive(NEWSFLASH!!) and that he has spent lot but would call for greater public partnership, blah, blah. . .
bottom line, it wudn't work. |
