police officers in Yobe. “We are looking beyond routine interrogation. We want to get to the roots of the bombings. After preliminary interaction with them, other agencies might also be involved. It is going to be a comprehensive investigation.”Also, a fresh manhunt has been launched for what a source described as the new leader of Boko Haram, who is simply called Jafar. here we go again. . . we always hear of suspects being apprehended, but nothing tangible, apparently, ever comes out. why can't they use the information obtained from the previous suspects to apprehend the masterminds, or at best take pre-empitive measures against further attacks? what a sad loss |

chipmunkey: For me, it really doesn't matter who replaces him so long he's not a dictator. No offence but this (bolded) is rather silly. inas much as feel our dear GEJ has bungled so spectacularly the task of running the country, I'm not sure his resignation at this time will serve any good. All his possible replacements will still emerge from the biggest mistake of a party, PDP, and I won't be holding my breath for any improvement in their style of governance. |

Politics › Re: Would Buhari Have Tackled Boko Haram More Effectively. by muyoto: 12:22pm On Dec 27, 2011 |
There would never have been Boko Haram if Buhari had been elected.
The only reason why there is a Boko Haram menace is because we have a Southern Christian president. you were obviously born just two years ago. Were you just a little older, you would have known Boko Haram actually started its campaign while a Muslim Northerner was on the saddle. |
Politics › Re: Bomb Blast: A Burden We Must Live With – Jonathan by muyoto: 12:00pm On Dec 27, 2011 |
publisher: Most of the Buhari and Atiku supporters on this thread cannot successfully eradicate the bed bugs ravaging their respective homes. Yet they want GEj To wave his hat and make Boko haram disappear. So what should the president do? Send christian soldiers to go kill all hausa/fulanis? Or like Nzeogwu,he should assassinate all northern ellites? Banish Islam from Nigeria? Kill all almajiris?
Has any anti GEj mor.on offered any sensible suggestion on how BH can be defeated? Na just to dey post trash here.
Again my advise to GEJ is that since some northern elites threatened and decided to make nigeria ungovernable if he won the elections. GEJ should come out now and declare his intention to run for a second term in office. This will be a declaration of war on all his opponents and their hidden faces will emerge. Remarkable that this worn-out, lame, silly excuse is still being peddled. |

alj_harem: Amin my brother. I have just been resting
I would like to state some facts
All you mentioned might be coming from him as the leader that does not make him the leader of all muslims.
Calling him the leader of all muslims in Nigeria has some profound implications.
1. It means he is the muslim leader of all muslims from yoruba to igala to ijaw, edo, kanuri, jukun, beroms etc That is NOT the case
2. His great grand father introduced Islam to some but not all cultures in Nigeria. From time memorial, Kanuris have always been muslims even before Usman came south.
3. His power is limited to those places emirs are and not place were there are Shehu (Kanuri), Baba Adini (yoruba), Iman, Alfa etc
this people are Spiritual leaders of the Islam faith and not mixing politics with Islam/religion. They do not mix.
For the sake of unity and peace we need to accept that Sultan is NOT the Leader of all Muslims in Nigeria
Usman dan Folio did not introduce Islam to all Nigerian Muslims. Some have been Muslims way before Usman came to the geographical expression call Nigeria. I must say this is the first time I'm hearing this. but are you sure this is the widely held view? the few I've interacted, with usually point to the Sultan as the spiritual head. |

Ngodigha1: As you keep ranting about the north, hope your north does not include the middle belt areas. Unless you are looking for trouble. I laff in disintegration we never even start, una don dey bicker. I repeat the statement i made on another thread dealing withe the issue: That somehow the creation of boundaries will solve the myriad of problems facing us is hideously comical. |
