FatherOfJesus: Bini as a language is not spoken in Igbanke. Bini is not even spoken in Ekpoma.
Una go just come here to talk nonsense. Igbanke first language is Igboid called Ika and not Bini. Does it even make sense for you to abandon your own language and be speaking another language as first language? That's why all these Bini heritage shit does not make sense to me, it's all for political gains.
The story of adopting Igbo language would have made sense if igbos had colinized them or forcefully form an empire there. But that's not the case, all these stories na gibberish. Person leave his Bini ancestral name come dey bear Igbo name and even change their king title to Eze etc.
You are part of an ethnic group by virtue of the local language that you speak in your ancestral land.
LOL Bini is not spoken in Ekpoma indeed! Na Igbo! Jeez!
Yujin: You came late to market. Igbanke's story is well known and their people are speaking out about the marginalization by Binis. Personally, I've spoken with some Igbanke people are they clearly don't understand or speak Bini as a primary language. The ika dialect is well spoken alongside Pidgin English. Very few older people understand Bini. Their proximity to Agbor ensures the Ika dialect remains intact. Once again, you're late to the market.
False.
Communities may adopt a second language due to proximity, migration, intermarriage, trade, etc. Also many migrants claim indigeneship over time. Igbanke has always been Bini and is Bini.
Yujin: There are more Igbo communities in Edo apart from Igbanke. Igbanke though is the largest of them all.
Igbanke is Edo and the Primary language is Bini. Ika is spoken there as a second language due to proximity with Ika communities in Delta North. And even the Ikas in Delta claim Edo heritage.
garfield1: Yes efik, annang and Ibibio share similarities but are classified as different tribes.each of them see themselves differently so respect that please just as isoko and urhobo are distinct.lets stick to the main issues, don't bring divisions please
Efik/Annang/Ibibio are different tribes, but Delta North tribes who claim Bini ancestry are lumped as Igbos. Okay.
Vulcan24: I read the article on BBC news app, 1. It's not BBC investigation and the report is too obvious a media trial unless the EFCC can corroborate they released that piece of investigation to them in either case it's still media trial !
It's very absurd to hear on foreign media that you stole some money without any accusation or investigation through your home country !
2. She disgraced the young ppl, she was running the office like mfb and too reckless, she should have learnt the tricks from the older guys in office!
3. Foreign media should stop this kind of publication, it can be anybody, don't glost because she's on trial and suspended from office, read the article and see the light! It's all shades of wrong !
EFCC has since denied they released any such information.
seunmsg: What kind of support are you suggesting? FG should subsidize the tickets or what?
No. That's already taken care of by market forces, and may even progressively reduce in price which is good.
Part of the complaints by Mr Onyeama was what he perceived could be deliberate logistical challenges eg the issue of ground handling and space allocation difficulties at Gatwick Airport. Such issues, if well-founded, would require intervention of the Ministries of Aviation and Foreign Affairs. This would benefit not only Air Peace, but other indigenous airlines seeking to commence such international commercial flights, and Nigerians ultimately. Because if Air Peace is messed up by these guys, the next thing would be a quick reversal of prices to exorbitant rates.
Firstly, due to our usual poor regulatory policies, it's obvious to a good extent, Nigerians have been subjected to unusually high fares by these international airlines.
Air Peace approach was a good one, and their pricing, relatively fair and competitive.
What's happening at the moment is an expected reaction by competitors. In other words, these are market forces at work, which is good and beneficial to the Nigerian populace so Nigerians enjoy fair pricing just as others globally.
This is where Nigerian government should step in, provide necessary support for her indigenous carrier and also ensure average Nigerians are not subjected to extortive fares for international flights.
There was a notice in market square Benin today that there will be an increase in the price of bread from tomorrow, 8th April. Presently, a loaf is N1400.
Actually noticed prices of things are steady on the increase.
Especially in the South, could the new electricity tariff rates have an impact on prices of goods and services?
Also observed the prices of cars, even Nigerian-used, reaching ridiculous prices.
CrossRhodes: 1400 still cheap... 1700 in some other southern states
tollyboy5: The post above me. so I those ondo tribe mention have bini ancestory. I just Google it and found out lol. No wonder ekiti and ondo are quite different from regular Yoruba.
Ijebu on another hand stand alone as a separate migration, pls note that some itshekiri are from ijebu also. Most act attributed to Yorubas in Lagos are characters of typical ijebu culture that has become general Yoruba culture.
The Oyo/osun Seth of Yoruba mixing with ijebu and bini expansionist form the present dominance of the Yoruba dialect and give the dialect different accent.
Today Yoruba speaking community span through Kwara to kogi down to Benin/Togo then to bini. While Yoruba core territory remain southwest only. So we're are connected one way or the other lol.
It's foolishness to start fighting each other when were closely connected. But it seems thats what the world is all about War, zero peace, trouble etc
Nobody is fighting one another.
It's outsiders opening nonsense threads.
And replying themselves.
One is even instructing the other to go and fight.
Geovanni412: Go and look at eurusd and xauusd chart from Mar 27- April 4
How many days did both of them move in the same direction?
Correlation doesn't work the way you think, chief.
If it was that easy, everybody would be a day trader rather than a swing trader or position trader.
Exactly what I'm saying. The easiest approach should be in the mid- to long-term. The period you mentioned is only a week. During such periods, you may have such negatively correlating assets 'moving in the same direction', but as time elapses the true biases prevail (Triggered by News) and this is where day traders/short-term traders lose money.
What I wrote earlier was basically a Swing Trading approach though.
Geovanni412: If trading many pairs is giving you headache and no profit
Maybe it is not for you, I have tried both ways (trading 1 pair per acct) and trading multiple pairs And this is my observation,
Anytime I am trading two pairs say eurusd and xauusd, my mind will always make me want to take the same trade on both pairs
It's either i go long on both pairs or I go short on both pairs
I found it difficult to think of both pairs as independent entitities.
So, for someone like me, it is better for my sanity to trade one pair (eurusd) alone and not bother with correlation but rather focus on using appropriate stop loss for the acct and proper timing management.
The two pairs you mentioned correlate positively and only increases your risk if you take same trade (bias) on both. Your portfolio should contain pairs or assets which have negative or no correlation.
eg DXY (Dollar Index) and Gold correlate negatively.
When the Dollar gets weak, due to fear, the big boys such as Institutions, etc invest in gold to keep their money safe. In times of uncertainty eg war, natural disasters, pandemics, investors would also tend to buy gold in order to reduce risk exposure.
With News releases which show the US economy is improving eg the NFP release today, the USD (DXY) will be favoured (bought), while Gold will stall or be sold off. For a retail trader, you need to know the mid- to long-term effects of these news, economy, etc then marry it with Technicals (notably Price Action). Best in the mid- to long-term; Higher Time Frames, then scale down to Lower Time Frames for safer entries and minimal drawdowns.
If DXY is favoured, it's best to select a second currency which is fundamentally weaker than the Dollar such as the JPY, as price movements in favour of the Dollar would be stronger and more sustained. Anything which causes the Dollar to be relatively weak compared to the JPY is already an indicator that Gold would be the asset of interest by big investors.
A pair such as the GBP/USD comprises two strong currencies; except high impact events in favour of one against the other occurs, basically this kind of asset show limited price movements.
An example of an asset which has minimal or no correlation with the DXY is Crude Oil. It is affected majorly by regional news and events relating to OIl-producing Countries eg wars, pandemics, natural disasters, economic health of the country or region. Basically, for Crude Oil, these are looked out for in addition to technical analysis. But I don't advise traders with mini accounts to trade Crude Oil, especially if it's to be leveraged as it usually has high margins with most brokers.
It's the FCT Minister who allocates lands in the FCT.
AGIS, Ministry of Lands, etc only carry out land administrative functions and none of the directors in any of these agencies or ministries has the power to allocate or approve land allocation.
successmatters: Wike, you erred to have demolished the Igbo man's estate. I put it to you that you did it because you hate Igbos.
Let's get to the meat of the matter, there was no minister by the time the man had his papers approved, but there were directors and the directors approved the deal. You should respect that.
It happens everywhere, government business cannot stop because the FG hasn't appointed ministers yet. There is no laws that says government approvals of anything must wait till a particular official shows up, there's always a stop gap in every office.
It's the FCT minister who approves ALL allocations. It was clearly fraudulent.
Na who no know Abuja land matters go dey fall for the ethnic coloration the so-called business man is attempting to paint.
Wike even dey explain. If na EL Rufai, he for don demolish everything since, push all of them comot for there. And so-called director who signed such 'allocation' go face EFCC/ICPC.
Especially that Asokoro Extension/ Kugbo axis. Too many irregular activities there.
condensedmilk: So director of lands is not qualified to issue a Land in the FCT
Even the MD of AGIS cannot issue/allocate lands. It all gets finalised on the desk of the FCT Minister.
If the FCT Minister is not disposed to sign for whatever reason, the Secretary (to the FCTA) or the Chief Judge may sign on behalf of the FCT Minister.
Na clear wuru wuru wey don backfire. Fortunately, this prevented a lot of disputes because that 214 hectares definitely encroached into people's existing lands.
“This land, by this so-called ethnic jingoist, talked about, was allocated when there was no minister. The minister left on May 29, 2023. By June the land was allocated by the director of lands.
“We all met and agreed that nobody should do anything on the land until we are able to take a final decision. You know what happened? These guys thought they were too smart and they started selling the land.”
😂
It seems this area is Asokoro Extension towards Kugbo. Most of these areas have existing disputes.
joshjc: His pride and ego is what has brought him down, he worked against oshiomole because of obaseki, he should have learnt from the way obaseki treated others, but he was too blinded by arrogance
It's not about working against or for Oshiomhole, Shuaibu is intrinsically selfish. Whether he was in good terms with Oshiomhole or not, he wouldn't have a chance at becoming a governor when it was well-known it was time for Edo Central.
Did Oshiomhole not try otherwise during the just concluded primaries? How did it turn out?
senatordave1: He would have remained in APC and succeeded tinubu in senate and when gov returns to north,he will be the beneficiary
That would have been his best approach. But from his conduct, he would have still challenged his superiors in APC.
It's well-known Asari's great grand father was Igbo from present -day Imo State, who served the Ijaws. He was named 'Goodhead', and eventually married an Ijaw Chief's daughter.
That's why Asari as a descendant will tell you he has Igbo blood and will also claim Ijaw Royal blood.
Jogs1900: Many of them lack knowledge of history. They even thought Delta state was in the old Eastern region not knowing it was in Western region.I don't know how their Biafra crossed over to Delta state, an old Western region territory.
It's pure illiteracy on the part of some and self-deceiving covetousness on the part of others such as the mazi in DSS custody. He'll remain there.
