PoliticsRe: US House Of Reps Members Oppose Plan To Return Abacha Loot by NaMeAboki: 5:50pm On May 03, 2020
Misleading mischievous headline: it is not as if the majority of the house members were against it but only two out of them along their sponsored organisations - no thanks to the enemies within, who have taken to demarketing their own country as a means towards discrediting and edging their president out of power (akin to the vindictive act of cutting off their own noses to spite their faces) out of sheer hatred for the tribe, religion and region the president came from.

EdoPrince93:
We know Kano can never be safe...we are dealing with 3 problems right now, A useless Federal government,Coronavirus and Kano state...
Same people wailed for ramadan and they eased lockdown for them and as expected their case rose, their useless clueless thieving Governor wanted to relax lockdown after a week, and now some ignorant lots are protesting after one week...smh......
Kano played a major role in electing that lifeless presidiot and a plague in Aso rock and now he is too daft to protect them not to talk of the remaining states in nigeria...
Lagos has been on lockdown for weeks but they aren't misbehaving so why is Kano state different...
IF YOU ASK ME,LET THEM EAT THEIR PIE......
Lagos received far more FG intervention (medical & palliatives) than Kano; even though the former is far richer and less populous than Kano state - yet nobody in the north was complaining.

Even so, some Lagosians were demonstrating against and also brazingly defying their lockdown, stealing from food ladened moving vehicles in the name of hunger; breaking into and attacking and robbing ppl in their own homes - I guess these are examples of good behaviour in your (bigoted) dictionary.
PoliticsRe: Kano Insists On Easing of Lockdown by NaMeAboki: 1:37am On May 03, 2020
flokii:
If we say North is the problem with Nigeria now, they'll say we are not being nice..

When Lagos, Ogun and other Southern states have been on lockdown for over a month, Kano and the likes were left open and yet the governor is refusing a presidential directive to lockdown Kano for two weeks.

I pray you folks don't self-destruct with your arrogance and self centerdness.
Can't you read?

The article clearly that the relaxation was was with the consent of PMB; how then does that translate to the governor refusing presidential order?

Kano is the most populous state in the country, consisting of over 90% Muslims, currently fasting the month of Ramadan, with high poverty rate; with relatively little palliatives along with lower medical and other resource FG intervention compared to Lagos - yet some sections of the ppl of Lagos state were still protesting against their own lockdown, attendant with threat to law and order as some residents were being attacked and robbed in their own homes.

Imagine the government being under the same or even more kind of pressure in Kano between the need to balance necessary measures (lockdown) against the threat of revolt by a huge population equally under the pressure of poverty and starvation.

Yes; the proposed relaxation would be counter productive in the immediate term and would no doubt lead to more deaths but the alternative also carries with it, its own dangers and therefore leaves both the govt and the governed with very limited choices.

Already countries like; Italy, America etc. with even much higher death rates and better resource are already either easing or thinking about easing their own lockdown for similar reasons.

In reality most countries would eventually have to open up (virus or no virus) and their ppl just have to learn how to cope with the presence of the virus (as life will never get back to normal again) or otherwise face an economic catastrophe far worse than the disease itself.

For crying out loud, Kano is the most populous state in the country with also a high poverty index rating; it is poised to explode into the national epicentre of COVID 19 if care is not taken - the consequences of which would eventually also reach many of you in the south.
Can you imagine what a huge hungry poor population would do if under prolonged forced lockdown without adequate palliatives?

HealthRe: Dead Body On Busy Kano Road Sparks Fear Among Residents by NaMeAboki: 12:44pm On Apr 29, 2020
There are more dead bodies picked up on daily basis on the streets of Lagos, Enugu, Port Harcourt etc than this occasional one in Kano.
Similarly, the much touted recent spike in Kano death rate seems to be more coinicidental than COVID 19 related; this is because the terminal symptoms of the virus (i.e. inability to breath effectively etc) are quite distinct and therefore could not have been missed by the relatives of the deceased - who would have reported same.
Some ppl are apparently politicising and sensationalising the matter (admittedly quite serious) more than they actually should.

SmartProf:
So until the NCDC comes to ur aid or the FG gives u N15 billion, as a governor of an economically viable state you can't mobilize funds as a state to increase and equip ur testing facilities, as well as upgrade ur testing capacity? but when it comes to elections, you won't sleep until u unleash violence and deliver millions of rigged votes just to be on the good pages of ur political benefactors and loot the treasury...man's inhumanity to man is typified in most Nigerian politicians. You guys can watch yourselves get destroyed by the virus, since you don't have a date to resume testing...they are talking as though they are being begged to do the needful...bunch of fools in government.
NCDC (Nigeria Centre for Disease Control); the hospital hosting the testing centre, AKTH (Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital) and the state COVID 19 testing Lab (itself) are all FG institutions, and NOT under the state government nor the control of Governor - the failure is therefore entirely that of the FG.

Besides, you cannot just pick up a sophisticated PCR testing equipment along with all the necessary reagents specific for the COVID 19 organism readily off the shelf, without first ordering for it - the state government would therefore need time and the requisite trained personnel in order to set up its own COVID lab in parallel to that already in place by the FG; which in any case must be accredited and approved the FG - all of which will take time.

I am not sure your state or any other state government (with exception of Lagos) had fared any better.

I scroll through the contents of your post and all I could see are devious and vague comments. You really know the truth but you have decided to toll the evasive and tricky way in order to win the argument.

......Winning the argument doesn't add any feather to your cap, Neither does it upgrade your present status. Instead of discussing the issues objectively and dispassionately you resort to use some aesthetic grammar and semantic expression to marshall down your empty points. I can't be fooled.

I thought you will refute my points about the historical date I cited both the currency and the establishment of the Nigeria Army.; you kept mute to my reference points and decided to rigmarole on your comments . i understand.

I thought you were intelligent enough to read between the line. Instead , you waoh me with your minuscule IQ and ability to grasp information slowly. I understand.

Quick one..was it not written in your comments that the Arabic letters on both Nigeria currency and Nigeria Army Logo was done during pre-colonial and Pre-Independence....and my immediate response .was that those things we're done after the independence. The Arabic inscription was made possible because your Hausa-Fulani brothers were in power. Simple!

Gen.Ibrahim Babangida during his regime made some surreptitious league with some Islamic nations; before we blink our eyes Nigeria has was made to join one of the International Islamic council.....Mr. President left the economy that was on the verge of collapsing, and focus his governance on Islamic alliance. what a loss and misplacement of priority! Our Naira currency greatly depreciated and the entire country was in total a mess....his focus was quite different...

Like the proverbial Israeli who finds himself in a strange land, he is crying "/let my people go"/.
Unlike you; I do not argue unintelligently without focus, shifting the goalpost all over the place, like a headless chicken; nor do I respond to irrelevance such as the ones you foolishly made.
Yes, I did not respond to the 1973 issue of change of currency from pound to Naira you raised because it was completely irrelevant to any my post and added no value whatsoever to the argument.
If you are in doubt, here is what I posted:

"If you weren't ignorant of your country's history you would have known about the proposed secession clause in our 1st constitution, who opposed it it and why; you would also have known that while your forefathers were gibbering like monkeys, northerners were already literate (using Ajabi) and had a sophisticated system of government - which explains for the Arabic letters on our currency and military insignia as well as adoption of indirect rule by our colonial masters.

Refined human beings do not behave like animals: indulging in Cannibalism, breeding themselves in baby factories and selling their children like farm commodities etc.."

AND
"You continue to display your abject ignorance; all the reference I made were either pre-colonial or in the pre-independence and preceded the military era - including the mentioned escape route from this unfortunate marriage which your fore-bearer bitterly fought and opposed as an option.

There is nothing to be grateful about being joined at the hip with insincere toxic dishonest co-travellers who continue to be the bane of this country and without shame have audacity to turn around an blame anyone and everybody but themselves for their own travails".

With regards to the above: note I meant that the emergence literacy in northern Nigeria was pre- colonial; while Arabic inscriptions appeared on our notes pre-independence and definitely preceded the military.

If you had any brains at all, you would never had brought the change of currency as an issue - because it clearly never was; however, since you insist on doing so pertaining to the Arabic inscriptions on our notes; pls refer below to some pictorial evidence of our colonial notes - note the Arabic inscriptions on all of them.

Next time make sure you brush up on your comprehension and take the necessary time to get your facts right before you engage anybody in an argument; nor outrightly write ppl off based on stereotypical tribal/regional/religious profiling without engaging them first - or else you will appear quite foolish as you clearly do now.

it is either you are lying or you are confused . go and check your history books. Nigeria Currency was changed from Pound to Naira in 1973. the last time i checked , 1973 was neither pre-colonial nor pre-independence year
, Nigeria army force was established immediately after Independence. before then , we had what was called Nigeria Royal Army. but after the Independence, it was renamed to Nigerian Army.

i cannot be bamboozled by your Pseudo-Intelligence.

it brings tears to my eyes whenever i remember the level of backwardness our alliance has resulted into. we have the best brain in all fields but circumstance forced us to be living below normal. we were being controlled by a Stark, Semi-illiterates and half-baked graduates. this cannot be possible if we were not merge because we had a lot of best brains who can sustain what the legacy of development that the colonial master left behind.

we were the goose that lay the golden eggs but the goose lands are being neglected and abandoned for pollution, erosion, lack of basic infrastructure because it wasn't the priority of Men-in-Uniform who were majorly Northerners.

Since the independence, Just imagine Northern Nigeria without southern Nigeria.. but one day, the forceful marriage will be broken to pieces. hope you are preparing for it.
Talking about pseudo intellectualism or complete illiteracy on your part; kindly show me anywhere in my entire posts where I may have remotely mentioned the change of our currency (from pound to Naira).

However, in order to buttress my assertion that literacy 1st came to northerners before southerners, I recall making reference to the presence of Arabic letters (in Ajami) on our currency notes and military insignia, introduced by our colonial masters (in order to accommodate us in the literate north).

It is either you are devoid of the ability to read or comprehend basic written English.

Yes, you should indeed continue to shed tears from your eyes; but not for the reasons you mentioned but ironically for being a typical example of those you tried to malign as semi-illiterates and half baked - based purely on your own performance this far.

Remember, having an education does not necessarily translate to being intelligent; some ppl can go through university without the university going through them; they may graduate with PhDs but still remain intellectually deficient and therefore unable to effectively process and manage their acquired knowledge - some of them can even be seen here in Nairaland; often with a penchant to insult and look down on others, quite oblivious of their own shortcomings.

Like I said, blame your founding father who outrightly rejected the right of regions to opt out from the said forced marriage should such region later elect to do so; as well as you southerners for introducing military coups into this country for your selfish reasons and therefore all its ills we have been paying for since then.

After the governors frotting, was there any constitution to back up his so Christian state? But Sharia had laws drawn up for its sake and also maintained.

A christian can't fellowship freely in your core north. The Islam you practice in Nigeria is hypocritical.
Continue spewing your ignorance and poor comprehension.

If you had read my earlier post (with intelligence) you would have noticed where I mentioned Wike's declaration was unconstitutional.

As for Sharia, you yourself have already stated that laws were drawn up to accommodate them; if so, then Sharia is backed by law and therefore legal.

No one is stopping Christians from observing their religion anywhere in the core north - except in Boko Haram affected areas, where both Christians and Muslims are equally being attacked - therefore stop lying.

As for hypocrisy; I could have said same for Christianity, where your Churches are increasingly nothing more than mere business centres - ready for the exploitation of the most gullible fake pastors.
