xtremecr8: Please come, let us reason togerher sir. We are going to use a familiar experience we all have, if your tailor sews you cloth, delivers it to you and you ask him to come back for you to confirm to him that the sewn cloth fits you, the tailor didn't hear from you but sees you wearing the cloth everywhere and when he comes to you to collect his fee, is it legal unit in ideal situation you refer the tailor who has served you diligently to? Our trust was clearly broken because they had used and still using the same logo we designed. If they had held on and not used our design and if it wasn't clearly after we protested, we would go to their legal unit. Sir, referring us to their legal unit was an afterthought because we protested against such an unfair situation and we have been threatened subtly even by people who consider our small size and resources by reminding us if we think we are ready for 15 years case or have money for lawyers to do case for years against a big brand like FBN. Sincerely,we are not ready. We just want to get paid for our Labour. Many people need to know this and learn from this our experience with FIRST Bank I have read to end of this thread but i am just responding post by post. Go to the legal and hear them out first. Prolly they want you to sign off on something. Go there and get more evidence to nail them. Stop all this charade about tailors and stuff. U are playing with the big leagues now so grow up |

sexylassie: I don't blame her, I blame the company and other companies drained by her.
Most of the companies complaining aren't professional, you don't do business without contract, also you must also put in the contract, the penalty for breaking the contract.
They should stop complaining and start acting responsible.. People will take advantage of you when you don't have contract.
This is a lesson to the party involved
Act professionally Always have contract in place for any stuff you are doing with another business. I was about saying this before i saw your post. This is the importance of having an iron-clad contract that can only be breached with grave consequences for the offending party. Even Donald trump does sign a pre-nuptial agreement with wife to be. The agreement specify what the wife is to get in the event of a divorce. If she agrees to the terms, then marriage can go on. There is no teary-eye sentimental, lovey-dovey stuff here. After the business and contract is signed, with clear eyes of course, then love can now come in. Op, i dont know if you have an agreement in place or any evidence whatsoever, but i will advice you look for a pro bono lawyer to handle this case. If Gani was still alive(God rest his soul),he might have been interested. You can still try out Falana if you have a compelling case But FBN messed up sha if this is true. Things like these can give big conglomerate heavy dents with their stock plummeting downward( only in western climes though) Good luck sir |

Our security achitecture is a big sham.
Lets imagine this happened in a state like US or israel or any other serious country.
These kidnappers would have been plucked like hen feathers.
Firstly, the NSA would have used their satellite to scan that area. The NSA has in its control, satellite than can even read vehicle plate number from space. Some of these satellite, even drones have night time vision that can detect heat signature from warm bodies. These ( drones) can be deployed to scan swath of forest to track down these guys.
Radio signals from phones can be used also. Any calls coming from them to the victims family can be tracked to the nearest base station/mast.
marked bills can also be used as ransom since they prefer cash. Once they turn up at any bank to carry out transactions, they will be flagged and aphrehended.
There are so many ways to handle this but let me stop here. This forum is not completely a faceless one. Our security forces are complicit in these matters |

MagicBishop: This is no Flu
This virus has an incubation period of 14 days where the infected do not show sign of illness but are still highly infectious.
This virus has been shown to be for life just like HIV. That means the infected even after treatment can still relapse and infect others.
Most worrying is that it affects male fertility which means males who get infected, but survive, become sterile and so can not have children.
Ebola will keep you down for about a month after just a day of exposure thereby limiting spread.
Every successful virus needs to be docile and not kill the host before it goes pandemic.
You do not know how dangerous this contagion is.
It is obvious it was a designer bio-weapon tailored for massive culling .
Be very afraid. This is not some random flu but a well engineered cutting-edge bio-weapon designed for mass culling. Dont mind the little brat called tsephanyah. I thought she was wise but every of her post has gradually erroded every iota of wisdom. U hit the nail on the head. buygala: If the Baby Boy is in very pristine condition and totally 1st body, it is well worth 550 or 600k...
It is a very good car and shockingly cheap to maintain...I will pick a nice baby Boy over a 2004_2007 Corolla anytime...if you get a 4 plug one which has not been abused, you will get fuel economy close to those Corollas sef...and yes, it's more fun to drive and more balanced on high speed than those Corrollas I mentioned
Complete Toks Baby boy engine and gearbox is 130k here in Jos...other parts are ridiculously cheap....I once bought a baby boy radiator cover for 250 naira this year...
Compare that with an E0D or Discussion continue whose toks engine and gearbox is about 300k ...It's not everybody who can afford shelling out such for that....Yes an EOD and Discussion continue is more comfy than a baby boy ceteris Paribus, but its parts are very expensive..
If people are crazy enough to buy a carton Corolla for above 1 million, I see no reason why a good baby boy should not sell for above 500k
But Op, you sef need to calm down .....you should be pleased if you get 550k for your car...and it must be near toks condition for that to happen, and have brand new tires too...I can't buy a Baby Boy for 550k and still have to spend about 100k plus on brand new tires or even an extra dime fixing anything...in fact sef,I will be annoyed if I have to replace the floor mats in the vehicle... I. am asking this question with an open mind ( not one of the Toyota fan boys)....what about the transmission? Read from some reliable online mag about inherent issues with the Tran. What's your take on that? |

Romance › Re: Valentine: What's The Craziest Thing You Have Ever Done For Love? by nams77: 3:47pm On Feb 13, 2020 |
mrkings84: Mine happened ten years ago precisely, I was staying with my big bros, who never gave me chance to mingle with other young people. Then there was this pretty damsel in my neighborhood that I love and she too loved me, and she was staying with her elder sister.
She was in a similar situation like me as she was like in a prison. We couldn't just have time and opportunities to express our love for each other.
Though then I had a phone but she didn't so communication was not even there. We would just see once in a long while.
Story cut short...
Boom, it was Valentine season that yr, I had managed to talk with her via her neighbor friend's phone. We agreed we were gonna see late in the night when everyone had gone to bed.
So by 12am I had to sneak out of our house, there building has an half fence, I climbed to the compound through the fence, bae was already outside waiting for me. We just hugged, kissed sharp sharp, and I vamoosed. And that was all.
Men, Each time I remember that incident, I will just laff hard cos that crazy act did not even worth it cos if I had been caught climbing a fence by such an odd hour, that may have turned to something else.
Thank God shall I was not caught!
Share yours.....! This shit u pulled almost landed my family in cell. Several years ago, we had one tenant who always return from work around 3-4am. That fateful day, a robbery took place in a boarding school not too far and shortly after, my neighbor sauntered past and some of the student trailed him. On getting to the compound, the tenant jumped over the fence since he didnt want to disturb the neighborhood with noise. The student watched him jumped over the fence and concluded he was the thief that came to their school. 3 days later , police men stormed our building in the wee hour of the morning and arrested everybody except my family. Why we were singled out, i cant still explain till date |

I like Volvo's. The new ones though (03 and up models). They had nice designs. Would buy one if circumstances permit.
I have never been inside a Tiida or versa or known anyone who owned or used one.
However, lots of companies and some individuals bought it and I still see them around.
The body holds up better than the Honda city that was their competition. It's a Nissan. So it will have Nissan problems. However this can also be compounded by 'our maintenance' culture. Where dealerships service vehicles with wrong engine oil spec and ATF spec. It is shocking what I have seen in some places. Most of these tiidas/versas were serviced at dealerships as they were bought brand new. So it all depends on a lot of factors. You are absolutely right about the body integrity. Thank you for your time. I very much appreciate it |
Car Talk › Re: Which Car Was Your First Car? by nams77: 3:41pm On Feb 12, 2020 |
9icetoo: The Avalon is a Toyota and not soulless. You get what you pay for. If you want luxury, get the Lexus. Even with all the gizmos added to the Toyota crown of the 70's and current Avalon's, they were still freaking reliable.
Not all Volvo's had the unreliable tag. The 80's and 90's Volvo's were built like tanks. Hardly ever broke down. Had few in the family back then. Super reliable.
Coincidentally, those European cars had efi engines when the average Nigerian mechanic only knew how to work on a carburetor. Add the fact that we were still using leaded fuel on these.
I guess that's where some of the unreliable tag came from.
The base Mercedes cars of then (e200, e230) were absolutely reliable. In fact so reliable they were around 30 years after they landed our shores.
Some are still running presently.
The few cars (European) who ingested our leaded fuel died off and by the time Nigeria embraced unleaded fuel, the problems went away.
However, the damage to their reputation had already been done.
Additionally, it was much more cheaper to buy smaller cars from America. This opened the opportunity for even average income and low income earners to buy and own cars. These low income earners of course opted for small Japanese cars. Most mechanics switched to them, learnt how to fix them, grew with them and mastered them.
Europeans cars became fewer by the day. If you were a mechanic that specialised on European cars, no be person go tell you to port after hunger Don hammer you small.
So the jap or Toyota crowd grew and it is what it is today.
The European cars seem complex because fewer people want to invest the time required to study them and master them. The market is not there.
Even the Nissan is having a similar despite being a Japanese car because there too few Nissan's around and no one wants to waste his time on unproductive ventures.
If I open a mechanic workshop today, I trust that my first five customers will come in with a Honda or Toyota.
Cool first car though. Liked the 190 when I was growing up but my dream car then was the Peugeot 505 turbo evolution. Damn! that car was pretty and fast. Will never forget the trips in that car. I agree with you. Haven't really experienced the Avalon except from the few rides in a colleagues own. What struck me was how spacious it was. Frankly speaking, apart from the reasons you gave up there which are valid, what even inflames the Toyota followership is this word of mouth marketing by other users. I remembered when i mentioned Volvo to some colleagues, they all screamed as if i had just committed a sacrilege they all echoed it must be Toyota. It is this herd mentality that annoys me. Speaking of Nissan, whats your opinion on Nissan tiida/versa. Was doing research on it but i heard transmission and engine problems |

9icetoo: And there was a reason for that. The jag was luxury. Meant for a select few. Probably only sold 5,000 pieces if it ever did get to such heady numbers.
The Toyoda was for the masses who needed to get from point a to b without robbing the bank. It wasn't luxury and didn't need to have all the gizmo. It sold more than the jag.
Now tell me which of the two companies are more profitable. The jag or the Toyoda?
Let's not go this silly route on this thread. Just state your first car and move on.
Mine bought was a Camry big for nothing. Bought Nigerian used. Whatever problems it had was caused by me as I fiddled with it a lot. Learnt a lot about cars through it. First car I drove was a beetle. Sweet little ride. Lost the brakes once on me but I survived. Car survived too. Guess the low bhp saved the day. Regular car driven in my teens was an Opel rekord. Nightmare of a car. Served it's purpose. If I was paying for the maintenance, I'd be in the village by now. I understand your point. Toyota brand is a simple car made for taking you to places without any frills. I believe they are even suited for nigerians ;Dwith our economy that is nose-diving on a daily. My point is still valid. Agreed that the jaguar is a luxury niche but what about the volvos, peogeot and volks that are perceived as problematic cars because of their complex electrical systems? Infact in some circle, Merc is seen as an over-engineered car. Personally i am beginng to take a liking for the Lexus brand and wont mind driving one in the future. Bottom line is that Toyota is reliable but bland and souless. But it gets the job done. BTW, my first cars was a Benz190. Rugged and resilient. Still missed that car. I feel bad that i sold . that moto suffer for my hand as it was my first car and i didn't know jack about cars |
