^^Fellow NLers, from the driver's account given above, which sounds plausible to me, do some of us still think Damola1 is a good and respectable guy?

Well, use your instincts to decide.

I am not surprised at this latest revelation, and I insist Damola1 is a criminal who's had a cynical motive from the word go, as far as this issue is concerned. All he has done is to swindle Lekky, then comes here on NL to start fronting like a person who had good intentions ab-initio.

Not all nigerians are fools like u think, @Damola1. U are the fcking fool, trying to talk smart here. Your end will be tragic and sad except u take full responsibility for the carcas u sold to that unsuspecting man, cos God is watching you on HD.

Rubbish.
AutosRe: Make Sure You Inspect Vehicles Before You Buy Them by nas00(m): 7:55am On May 18, 2012
Having assessed the situation, IMHO, Damola1 is a damn fraudster.
You guys need to realize that fraudsters, in nigeria, are becoming rather confrontational in their manner of operation. They will swindle you and continue to try and pat you on the back afterwards (As against running into hiding, in those days). It is the latest trend, so I don't subscribe to the fact that Damola isn't a 419 guy simply because he has commented on this issue on NL. 419 get levelz.

That said, IF Damola really wants to refund the Alhaji, he would not be saying things like "return d car d way I gave u" (that's technically impossible, and Damola knows it. It is a very controversial remark), knowing fully well that even if d Alhaji fixes d engine and returns d car, Damola will then sell the car even for a price higher than 2M (since a maga had already put his bad engine in order). All the gain is for Damola, and all the pain for the buyer.

Anyway, truth remains: Alhaji no try. We'll all agree he caused all this by not taking the pains to scrutinize himself. BUT that Damola is a CONMAN.

NL dealers, sorry to say, I can never trust any of you for any reason, under any condition. Damola is a case study for all to learn.

I rise!

Tactical move by Jona, courtesy of Abati who, probably, wove the words.

This however paradoxically highlights the relative disregard suffered by the nigerian families affected so far by BH killings, in the hands of FG. When will Jona (and Abati) stop this 'eye service' and sickening inconsistency?

HealthRe: Dagrin And The State Of Healthcare In Nigeria by nas00(m): 1:47pm On Apr 27, 2010
Hullo baybbootz,

I feel ur pains too.
, and did u notice i have made my statement non-committal on the issue of alcohol?
I only deduced, from what i saw of his car, the possibilities and used the circumstances to charge fellow NLers not to take alcohol if they would drive.

Sometimes, if u can't work from question to answer, u should be able to work from answer to question. That's what i've done here.
I chose to disregard the truck driver not because he (and those bastards called police) had done what is right, but because the accident may not have occured if everything was right with C.E.O.

Over!
HealthRe: Dagrin And The State Of Healthcare In Nigeria by nas00(m): 12:39pm On Apr 27, 2010
@ Ak4ril:
U're on point sir.

I mean he is more likely to have made attempts to avoid d crash if he had not been on alcohol's influence. If this is so, he would have swerved his car such that the collision impact would not be head-on like we saw in the pics of the crashed car. The other side of the story may be dat his speed was just too much that he could not bring the car to a halt before the crash, prolly because he saw d truck too late. Such happens when d mind is pre-occupied with other thoughts (loss of concentration)

The pic THAT I SAW tells me he ran into d truck straight on, meaning he wasn't oriented enuff to either recognize the truck (as a potential danger) or take safety measures. , and that is exactly what alcohol does,  THOUGH I DON'T HAVE PROOF HE WAS DRUNK, Da Grin WAS MOST LIKELY NOT HIMSELF WHEN THE CRASH OCCURED.

Yes, accident occured in the middle of the night, but his car had headlamps (developed using latest technology) and he wasn't going round a bend. undecided

One could figure out all these, but i repeat, only God knows what exactly caused d crash and why O'Grin died.

Do u copy?
HealthRe: Dagrin And The State Of Healthcare In Nigeria by nas00(m): 10:58am On Apr 27, 2010
I may not know the exact cause of Omo Olorun's death.
However, this is my submission:

Trauma is one of the most terrible emergency situations dat can happen to man because it more often than not ends up affecting virtually all the organ systems in the body. Again, recovery of a poly-traumatized patient trauma is a much slower process compared to localized trauma. Da Grin was most likely polytraumatized, with internal injury to the brain (contusion or concussion) very likely. However, I did not see his CT Scan. He could rupture a viscus, say his spleen, if his steering wheel rammed into him. He could have suffered a kidney 'shutdown' from several causes ranging from blood volume problems to severe muscle trauma.

Now, even under the best healthcare conditions, He could still have died, basically because the sequence of internal events was progressing at a rate too rapid and the picture kept changing.

Let us not blame it completely on the quality of healthcare Da Grin received. Sometimes by the time it gets to that stage, things may already be out of hand. If we have optimal (d ideal) healthcare services in 9ja, does it give u liberty to go break ur head, hoping ur brilliant doctors and 'tech' health system will be there 4 u? Absolutely no!
So, PREVENTION IS KEY. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO PREVENT RATHER THAN REPENT. REPENTANCE MAY BE TOO LATE.

I hereby submit that whoever we are, wherever we are and however rich we may be, IF U KNOW U WILL DRIVE A VEHICLE PLEEASE DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL. OTHERWISE GET A DRIVER (WHO MUST ALSO NOT TAKE ALCOHOL).
Cos if Da Grin was not under the influence/ euphoria of alcohol, he wouldn't have run straight into a truck, even it it was right in the middle of the road.
So sad. cry

The facts speak for themselves:

dayokanu:
OAU, UI would always be tops in Nigerian context. They draw the best students and the internal competition amongst students is always keen.

The best students in secondary schools all want to go to UI, OAU, UNILAG and those top schools so basically whats left for the UNILORIN'S of these world are students who couldnt make it to UI, OAU, etc.

Tell me any good student you know of whose University of first choice was UNILORIN, UNISOKOTO or IMSU

Most of them go for UI, Ife, UNILAG, UNN etc.

These top schools also have the best faculty staff. Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, Chike Obi, Ade Ajayi, Jubril Aminu and other top notch lecturers can only be found in these grade A schools.

The best secondary school students, grilled by Wole Soyinka's, Chinua Achebe etc can only be the best in the country
UI, OAU, UNILAG are the root from which others sprang. All other nigerian universities are second-line. lipsrsealed tongue

U.I. is the best, not only because she recently defeated other famous African Universities at the Zain Africa Challenge, but the quality of teaching and research is superb. Like Dayo said, products of good schools speak for them, e.g. There is an endless list of products of U.I. (likewise, OAU) who have pioneered learning in other institutions in Nigeria (and that was how many of these universities some ppl are hyping here grew). Few other examples from UI include: Prof E. Latunde Odeku (1st neurosurgeon in africa), Prof. Olikoye Ransome-Kuti, Prof B.O. Osuntokun, Prof Adelola Adeloye, Prof Kola Obisesan (provost, College of Medicine, LAUTECH), Prof M.T. Shokunbi, Prof Olumuyiwa Awe, Prof. Oluwole Adebo (Provost, C.O.M., BOWEN University), Prof Babatunde Osotimehin, far too many products of these first-line Universities played pivotal roles in the development of these OSU, LASU, UNILORIN, LAUTECH, UNAD etc and some ppl are heaping shame on their schools here. embarassed tongue tongue

True, everyone here wants to support their alma mater. True also is the fact that most products of the second line universities had attempted to gain admission into the first-line at some time. Dayokanu said it all up there cool cool
