FamilyRe: Why Are Wives Often Blamed For Their Husbands' Failures? by nas00(m): 3:37am On Oct 10, 2009
2 camps exist: Women that help their husbands succeed or those that run them down. No intermediate camp.

IMO, it's unfair to blame d wife for the husband's misfortune, especially where there's no proof.
No thanks to d old skool superstitious beliefs of our forefathers. Methinks it's d rootcause of d cases we see nowadays. Whereas, many of these women are falsely accused, battered, rejected and ostracized.

I say NO to this idea, too many women suffer in silence.

Got a '90 model Mazda 626 hatchback (Capella), 12V, 2.2L, Carburettor, 15" alloy rims, anniversary edition.
Has gave minimal probs since i bought it used (toks) in '98. Quite impressive engine performance with tite AC. Stability too much 4 highways, only dat it's somehow slow in picking up speed from rest. I enjoy travellin with d car. Latest fuel economy is almost 1/4 tank from ibadan-akure with AC (completing a 3-hr journey in 2hrs)!. Me sef trip.

Apart from regular servicing 1ce every 3 mnths (which i now do myself),
I replace plugs (with toks too) 2ce a year,
I replace d front tyres yearly (sometimes i simply substitute with d rear tyres and life goes on),
I charge d AC refridgerant myself 1ce- 2ce a year
I replaced d front wheel shafts 1ce (with toks)
I service d carburettor 1ce a year

I changed d engine 1ce ('2k6). D engine is still doing great, but d cam-shaft started making a clicking noise last year. I'm yet to find time to go buy a replacement.

4 my mind, i really don't think i need a new ride for now. I dey feel d ride die!
RomanceRe: A Solution Against Girls Playing ''hard To Get'' by nas00(m): 4:22pm On Oct 09, 2009
Some time ago, i had a female friend whom i just loved. She was my coursemate and had several shortcomings which i overlooked cos i considered i'm not 100% perfect either. Everyone knew we had somtin 4 each odr, but we never talked about it until i broke the ice 3 years l8r, when i felt d time was ripe (i really wanted to marry her, so i took time to let her understand on her own that i respect 'n love her 'n dat i culd b trusted).

I told her straight up dat i loved her and would love her to consider being my best friend (notice dat i had given her a leeway-'consider'). As if she was not d same person i used to know, she flared immediately up and started saying things dat just weren't congruent with d way we'd related so far, e.g "so what people were saying about us is true", "no o! U should go and love ur God, go 'n read ur Bible", "u must have been watching too much movies etc", "don't b feeling like: ah! i've told her at last" (as if i were afraid to make my intentions known ab-initio).

As she raged on, trust me, i kept my cool 'n kept chippin in 1ce in a yl dat all i'd told her was true, anyway. L8r, i left 4 my place. I no beef her at all, i just solemnly made up my mind dat nite i would never go back begging her. D thing pain me o, but d chapter was closed. wink

Ladies 'n gentlemen, could u believe d next time i went to her place (abt 4 days l8r), i saw an entirely different disposition. I remained utterly speechless as she motioned me to sit by her on her bed, threw her arm around my neck 'n kept talking as if nothing had happened. shocked shocked

Soon, she started behaving funny e.g. cracking dry jokes and rubbing off her head on my shoulders as she laffed alone to her jokes (i just bone like say no be me she dey follow talk. i don dey vex, cos i realised what was gradually unfolding). angry angry

After some time wen im see say i no move body, let alone talk, she come sober. She then started telling me about myself, that i'm very nice 'n caring bla bla bla, of all d guys in d class, i be d only one wey she dey feel, bla bla bla shocked shocked

As she dey talk all her bullshit, my head just dey spark cos i dey remember d 'opata' wey she yarn some days earlier. Meanwhile, she'd started curling around me like a python, gradually strangulating its prey. In d midst of all this, i was too sad 'n angry to utter a word. Eventually, when she freed me (cos i did not respond in any way whatsoever to her maneuvres, though i knew she was now revealing her true mind), i took excuse and left the room. She obviously couldn't believe i did! tongue tongue tongue

Forget it! dat was d end of d story 4 us. I hate people toying with my emotions ('n many guys are like me). Hear me well, I AM NOT PROUD, but if i truly love a chic (no matter how much) and d 1st thing she does is pretend as if she does not need me (thinking i would come back begging), then she'd have shot herself in d leg, cos i 4 one WILL NEVER COME BACK (except by d special intervention of God). cool cool cool

So here are some of d lessons from d story:
1) It will never be counted as foolishness if 9ja girls learn to use polite words (to turn down or tactfully accept) when guys approach them.
2) If u turn a guy down today, u would only be a 'Baba Sala' to be running after him 2mrw (even if he accepts u then), or feeling inward guilt u let him go (many 9ja girls do this e.g. d one in d story).
3) For d guys, please show some character by not allowing any lady mesmerize u. U be korrect boy, and remember there's some1 for every1. The fact dat u reeeeaally love some1 doesn't mean she gast 'gree' by all means.

U don't hav 2 go thru hell with some1 dat's meant for u, how much more d ones dat are not?

RomanceRe: Why Do Women Love To Marry Medical Doctors? by nas00(m): 12:55pm On Oct 05, 2009
Of course, it's true that women flock around docs (and flirt), both korrect 'n wowor chics.
D more u try to avoid them, the more they come, ranging from nurses (who form beef) to patient relatives, to undergraduates, bankers, sisters in church, family friends etc shocked
Dem go find scope take collect ur number. Dem go flash so tey. Dem go dey send text, accusing u of 'not sending' them, dem go dey make lame excuses just to see u, dem go dey over-makeup so u'll notice them sha. In short, I bow 4 woman o! undecided undecided

However, rather than yab these ladies, i feel sorry for them because one cannot really blame them 4 being ambitious (it's not a crime to want to date a doc. Infact, it's not a crime for any man/ woman to date d opposite sex, except married). Docs just have to deal with this by being more careful with women and being open enough to say NO to their antics. Unfortunately, when you do this, they say u're being proud. What has 2 b done has 2 b done, though.

I strongly believe it's 1 man 4 1 wife 4 life, and so be it!

HealthRe: Police IG Asks Doctors To Treat Accident/Gunshot Victims First by nas00(m): 2:32am On Sep 29, 2009
Please, understand that if a doc asks for police report before attending to gunshot victims, it's because he needs a legal backing to do his job under that circumstance. For instance, if he get whisked away by d police, who's gonna attend to d patients that may need him when he's already at Alagbon or something?

Things shouldn't be this way, but it has become of necessity 'cos of d crazy system 9ja operates. Those policemen are full-blooded bastards. They'll do anything to eke some bribe. Have nothing to do with them o!
SportsRe: FIFA U-20 World Cup: Nigeria Vs Spain (0-2) On 28th September 2009 by nas00(m): 1:24am On Sep 29, 2009
May d God of Oliseh punish those useles boys! All of them minus Siasia(because i see im mind).

Anyway, i knew before hand that things could only get worse. 4 instance, make we dey follow Venezuela (wey no get any football pedigree) huzzl, dem even chop us on top! How we for take chop Spain before?

D farmers no even fit penetrate goal area, dem no fit shoot on target, dem 'runs' no dey co-ordinated, to add insult to injury, dem no dey play with common sense! (when u no mark with sense, how ref no go award penalty against u?)
In those days, opponent go dey offside, Uche Okechukwu go raise im hand, still dey pursue am! These days, d yeye eagles go tanda dey expect ref wey no wan make dem win b4 blow offside. Ewu!!(goats indeed. Dem think say Uche no know wetin im dey do 4 im time?)

We should not blame d referee. Na so e dey be from d days of '94. If d team is sound, it makes victory sweeter. Tribute to d USA '94 team, who faced similar situations, yet did nigeria proud. Same 4 d Atlanta dream team (remember d penalty awarded Ortega Vs Taribo?) which also went ahead against all odds. THAT'S THE SPIRIT!!

So, what d heck is the excuse of these lame, useless boys?

I've never seen nigerian football so soapy. E don sure say na Ghana i go support for 2010.
I no fit run myself down!
InvestmentRe: EFCC Nabs Varsity Students Over Dividend Scam by nas00(m): 3:52pm On Sep 28, 2009
Nigerians, we're always too quick to heap all d blame on FG.
While i agree FG has its own fault in this matter, permit me to say if Nigeria were the ideal country we all want her to be, it does not stop people with criminal tendencies perpetrating their acts.
That said, an idle student can learn some trade or run a legal business. They can use their brains to achieve honorable, positive feats(sports, innovations, academics, socials etc). At worst, they can help their parents in their businesses (hoping legal).
By heaping all the blame on prevailing trends in d country, if i were 'an idle undergraduate' too, i could be encouraged by some comments posted on this thread to head in d same path of destruction(fraud).
So, let's all be cautious. We should not give the wrong signal to the youth, though we can't over-emphasize d decay in several sectors of d nigerian economy.
Methinks d change we all desire to see lies in our individual attitude and the kind of seeds we sow in the next generation (our youth).

Like someone said, "enu o se!"

@ikennahill:
With all due respect, it's either u're a blackmailer or u're just incorrigible 'n silly. Looks like u've been subtly trying to gather as much info as u can about nigerian medical doctors whilst feigning madness (which indeed makes u a charlatan). Otherwise, u must be daft. lipsrsealed

I'm not surprised u question my training, u won't just comprehend. It's all too obvious you were half-baked, and u probably bought ur way through ur own training (if u ever had any succesful professional training). Your mechanical accuracy and the way u reason show that amongst others.
So, i won't react by telling u anything more about my training or the medical profession because that's what u really want to hear tongue

I'm sure u also know that well informed people like Muzbo et al gave the facts on d issue at hand, but u deliberately keep raising dust with ur spiny tongue because u've got an ulterior motive. Someone was right to have suspected u are a 419er, which, frankly speaking, i think u are.
, and please, never in ur life bring my parents (or any other person's) into issues. U're just too uncouth!
I know u will attempt to reply me (because u're indeed pig-headed, and u refuse to see it), but i'm done with u here.
It's no use playing dirt with a pig. U will only get dirty; d pig enjoys it! grin grin
EducationRe: Your School Anthem by nas00(m): 8:18pm On Sep 22, 2009
I attended Subuola Memorial Nursery & Primary School, Ibadan.
Enjoy our School Anthem.

1. Subuola, our second cradle, with hearts full of joy we sing
Subuola, the school for future leaders, that teaches justice with truth and learning
We praise the minds and hands that laboured
To make our school the finest in the world
Where we learn with care, with loving care
Our duty's to God, Country and man

2. Subuola, that keeps the duty guide: Work hard, play hard, keep straight
Subuola, instils no sense of danger, no mountain can give us cause to fear
We thank Subuola for teaching us to make our motto service to God and man
As we fly to the heights, the highest heights
Set by Subuola Primary and Nursery Schooooooooooool

Long live Subuola Memorial Nursery and Primary School, Agodi G.R.A., Ibadan!!!
EducationRe: Your School Anthem by nas00(m): 7:07pm On Sep 22, 2009
Tribute to my Alma mater, LOYOLA COLLEGE IBADAN (LCI)
Truly, no other anthem will ever be so touching. Herein lies a great, common source of motivation for LOYOLANS:

Our College Anthem:

Chorus: Loyola, Loyola, the best in every way
Loyola, Loyola, we always win the day.

1. We are students from a College that is seen in Ibadan town
We have made a promise not to let that College down
We stand for truth and knowledge and we stand for wisdom too
We all strive for perfection here in everything we do

Chorus: Loyola, Loyola,

2. All here from Loyola, we come with zeal and zest
And when we work or when we play, we always do our best
We're faithful to one God alone, who rules us from above
We're faithful to our fatherland, and to the School we love

Chorus: Loyola, Loyola,

3. Loyola we cannot forget the years we spent with you
We hope that ever you'll be strong, that ever you'll be true
We walk through life undaunted and when life's long journey's o'er
Loyola boys will meet and be united evermore

Chorus: Loyola, Loyola, the best in every way
Loyola, Loyola, we always win the day. smiley

In d midst of the instrumentals, the motivating words, the voice of ecstatic Loyolans (Sikira t'oko de, etc). The song fills you with absolute belief that you can achieve anything, and truly so, my head 'swells like garri' any time we sing the College anthem.

Up Loyo!!!!!!

EducationRe: Loyola College Ibadan Old Boys Meet Here by nas00(m):
My first step thru d gates of Loyola College, Ibadan in Sept, 1994 was a dream come true.
Today, i'm a Medical Doc, and i can't help the flow of that same feeling i felt at that 1st moment whenever i think of Loyola.

I attended from 1994-2000. Had d nickname, Epo, a variant of isu at'epo. Had lots of fun in skool.
We had notorious seniors, e.g. Shaba, Six feet, Ogede, Aworo, Wallet, Joger, Matori
We had great footballers, e.g. Dominic(GK), Ben James(GK), Waske, Emma, Ekpo, Ozobula, Ijamba, Kongi, Henry, Ovie
We had basketballers,e.g. Six feet, Pelumi, Imole, Henry. (Both 'Six Feet' aka Olumide Oyedeji and Pelumi Olanrewaju later became famous NBA stars, flying Nigeria's colours)

We had teachers,e.g. Mr Akinwumi (Westerhoff), Mr Balo (Geography), Mr Salako (V.P.), Mr Omonigbehin(Jiro), Mr Afolabi (VP- 'Jackson'), Mr F.A.B. Adeoye (Principal-'Andre d giant), Mr Falana (workshop/ Intro Tech), Mrs Odejayi (Chem), Chief Sola Ayangbayi (Principal), Mrs Atoyebi (Iron Lady), Mrs Ishola (Undertaker), Mr Onipede (Baba Suka) etc
We had joints, e.g. Kris-kross, Mini-market, NUT, Kitchen, Chapel, Iya-Ibeji, Burger, Akoga, Exhibition(because)
There were lots of grafittis, e.g. Epo wuz hia, left 4 UI, Loyo titan, etc
We played football, and played and played
Went to watch Loyola play several matches,e.g. Loyo vs Egbado Grammar Sch, Abeokuta (Liberty Stadium), Loyo vs Igbobi College, Lagos(Loyola), Loyo vs Lagelu Gramms (Loyola), Loyo vs Holy trinity, Loyo vs Army barracks etc
I was a member of d supporters club, cos i was too small in stature to play 4 d school

Loyola, always on my mind
Anyone out there from my set? (2000 set)
HealthRe: Why Doctors Go On Strike by nas00(m): 12:16am On Sep 20, 2009
As i write, I hav slept only about 5hrs in the last 48hrs (d usual trend 4 me). I cannot remember when last I saw my family. As I type these words, i may b called at d emergency dept to come attend to a patient cos i'm on call again. I barely have time to myself anyday, let alone a date(dat's not my problem, anyway), I could go on 'n on

Back at work, there are inadequate diagnostic facilities/ equipment, leading to sheer wastage of precious time. Very often, lack of power supply would compound d woes of d doc and his patient, we are exposed everyday (more than in any other work class) to d dreaded HIV/AIDS infection (1 in every 4 patients are infected in d facility where i work), every patient wants d doc to be beside him or her all d time. Often, d nurses are deliberately making life unbearable for d doctor (beef), Again, I could go on and on. These are only very few of d challenges being faced daily by d average medical doctor in nigeria.

Now, i don't really know where to begin addressing d high level of ignorance some people have displayed on this thread, about d plight of Nigerian medical doctors. It's just sad and unfortunate, to say d least. I was particularly amused by d pig-headed fella who kept arguing about a profession he obviously knew very little about (probably nothing more than d words- 'Optometrist' and 'Opthalmologist'). That guy is a charlatan, albeit fat in the head.

In essence, Nigerian doctors should refuse to be distracted by such charlatans. Let's continue doing d best we can 4 our patients 'n of course, stand up 4 our rights all d time.
