Once the bride price has been paid, sex is no longer illegal. Even the Bible never mentioned anything about church wedding. It centered most on the bride price. It's we Africans that out of inferiority complex decided to copy the white man by making white wedding compulsory for Christians.

When Abraham's servant went to the well to seek a wife for his master's son Isaac, and found Rebecca, he gave gifts to the family of Rebecca and she was asked to follow him to marry Isaac. The gifts represented the bride price. There was no record of White wedding.

Same with Jacob when he worked for Laban for 14 years go marry his two daughters. The 14 years labour was the bride price for his two wives. No white wedding as well.

Even the wedding at Cana where Jesus Christ performed his first miracle by turning water into wine, there wasn't any mention of the temple which means it wasn't a white wedding.

If we're to go by the biblical standard, once you pay a girls bride price, before God and man, she's officially your wife.

White wedding isn't biblical, so stop referring to sex after bride price and before white wedding as illegal cos it's not.

If I'm to advise you, I'll say move on, probably with the new guy you cheated on him with. I mean if you can gamble your relationship with him, then he should be totally worth it.

Your new guy might probably accept you back if you apply the emotional technic in asking for forgiveness, but that relationship will never cross the boyfriend and girlfriend stage. Village elders are very authoritative and rude towards younger people. So the issue of talking to them in the form of advice wouldn't fly cos in his own perception he would be a coward if he can't confront the young man and tell him what's on his mind without mixing word.

My own is that if any man wants to marry he must inquire about the culture of his wife to be. It's very important.

A friend of mine got married in one area like that in Abia state. According to their tradition the girl must not accompany her husband to his home after the traditional marriage. She must spend her last night in her father's house then pack her things to her husband's house the following morning. So the husband goes home lonely after the marriage and waits for his wife the following morning.

The culture differs from place to place. But like I said, it's no big deal, he can still have easy access to her whenever he wants.

I attended a friend's traditional wedding last year December and after all the stress and struggles to settle the bride price, the father of the lady forbade she stays with the husband until after their church/white wedding which is two months from now

It is very important to know the village traditions of your wife to be before proceeding further with the marriage. For her dad to make such statement, it clearly means that such is the custom/practice in their village.

On a softer note, she can always visit him so I don't know what he's ranting about. Whenever he wants her, they can both chat on social media and fix an appointment, enjoy themselves and she'll go back under her father's roof pending with the two months gap would elapse then they can have their white wedding and begin to enjoy legal sex.

I sincerely feel your pain bro. But what I have to tell you is that when your girls family starts delaying your introduction towards their daughter unnecessarily, it can easily be interpreted to mean that they don't want you to marry their daughter.

Her parents are aware of your relationship, and they told you to wait till she graduates which you did against all odds. Now rather than see you as a responsible in-law, her dad is reluctant in giving you their list, my dear he doesn't want you to wed her.

Finally, the insults your girl gave you speaks volumes. From experience if a loving girlfriend suddenly becomes highly insulting towards you, it means the love and respect she once had for you no longer exists.

My advice? Don't reach out to her, you've done enough, if she's still interested in you, she'll come around, if she isn't, then regardless of how painful its obviously going to be for you, you just have to let go for your own sanity and peace of mind.

There's nothing wrong in kissing a girl on a first date, most especially in this our era of social media where you both must have had countless sex chats, exchanged nude pics and done countless nude video calls as well before even meeting.
