No, the rules have not changed. Dont twist words around. I used my mother who was never a meddling sister in-law as an example. As of the time she made that statement, she wasnt a mother-inlaw. |
Well, some married women do have siblings, so what is your problem?@thiefofhearts. |
Why is everybody jumping on the bandwagon that it is always the inlaw's fault when a marriage breaks down? That is not always the case. Knowing my mom, I can recall her stance that she will never be a meddling sister-inlaw in anybody's marriage. At times, there are some women who would try to isolate their husband from his family because of what? |
And what if someone's family are worshippers of idols? would you still advise them not to convert? |
That stuff exists, at times, I wonder why some of our people deny that its existence while in reality some of them may be patronisers of babalawos. . Though I have never witnessed one before, I have heard and also read stories of people, (the hunch back case, that Dollypee just wrote was in the papers a long time ago). Some people would even kill their relative for financial purposes. However, money acquired in an unnatural fashion is bound to disappear quickly, sometimes without any fruitful purpose. And there is always a price to pay, usually, tragic consequences are the end result of this diabolical act. Only Jesus Christ can set you free. Money itself cannot completely satisfy the longings of the flesh. We should always strive for contentment. |
Don't know anything about it but when I was in college in Naija, one campus publication peddled this story that my female school mate who had gone out with an unknown gentleman, had almost fallen prey to his occultic plans. She either may have bolted, or pleaded her way out of the house. It probably did not serve as a warning to some girls, since cavalcade of cars were still seen at the girls hostel. |
Kangu, are you from Zambia? |
Wiseguy, why are you washing your dirty linens in public? No matter your reservations about your mother, gosh, it should not aired for the public to listen to. True that sometimes marriages breakdown due to the intrusion of marriages, but at times, it is the wife's fault. |
I was a toddler, so I cant recall exactly what happened. Travelling to Nigeria from the UK on a ship? How long did that last? |
Nice pictures, but at the same time, the buildings are constructed at the detriment of oil producing states. |
Impressive. |
Yeah, it matters which religion I belong to, because Jesus Christ is the only way to God. So, I choose to be a born-again Christian so I have the joy of spending eternity in His Holy Kingdom. |
Cut loose the guy who has been monitoring you like a hawk. Control sometimes could be a stepping stone to physical abuse. @2nd girl, there is nothing wrong in dating a widower, but first, you might have to ask yourself, how did his wife die, how does his kids relate to you? Are you sure that you are prepared for a readymade family? And lastly, what happens in future your hubby passes away, how will the property be divided? Have a serious discussion with this guy friend of yours before taking the next leap. If you are approaching the relationship with caution, then, go with your instinct and sever the relationship. Problems are more likely to escalate in a ready made family than a family where there are no kids yet. |
The link is on Nigerian Entertainment, an online Nigerian forum. Someone posted an interview that Femi Kuti granted, and I attempted (to no avail) to post the link. http://enjoyment.independent.co.uk/music/features/article2163450.ece |
Yeah, no thanks to IBB for reducing our storied nation into this pitiable state that it is currently in. |
I dont have time for Dikembe. He appears to be a publicity seeking individual. Yeah, he may have good intentions, but dont drum up your efforts on the media seeking publicity. I mean, for what? To get a pat on the back? |
Cant people make their own choices in life? Where should they invest in? Nigeria? Give us a break!!!. If Oprah chooses to spend 100 million dollars on establishing a school in South Africa, that's her prerogative, charity should not be confined to one's borders. |
She could have@donzman, but should we dictate to her on how to spend her money? |
Abeg which kin topic be this? Waking up and realizing that one is dead? Hmm, that will be the 8th wonder of the world. But sha, it is not a matter of living a good life which is open to interpretation by different people and religious sects, the most important duty is to maintain faith in the Blood of Jesus Christ, repent of your sins, and live a Christian life (Being a born again Christian) |
Big, give it a rest, that's Oprah's money and nobody can tell her what to do with her money. At least she is using her money for beneficial purposes for Africa. I hope AFrican leaders tow her line, instead of stashing their illgotten wealth in foreign accounts. |
You are asking us if Marley was a true prophet, and I have to ask you, of what capacity was he a true prophet? If you are trying to align him with Christianity, then No, he wasnt. |
Let there be no vacancy for dissension in our lives. |
Where in Uganda is your mom from? I have read about Uganda, like the Toro Kingdom, as well as the buganda kingdom. I'd like to visit someday. You have heard of Elizabeth Bagaya of Toro, the current Ambassador of Uganda to the Vatican? Her nephew is the king of Toro. @Nigerianhat, why all these attack on my country, Nigeria? Those stories about the tourists, being forced to part with his money for staring at skyscrappers in Lagos is, I think, an urban legend that has been around, for quite some time now. And the minister who relieved himself in Ghana cant be true. Leave Nigeria alone, it is unfortunate that you had a bad experience there, but to me, the memories are still nostalgic. |
Yeah, miracles do occur in everyday life. I am a testimony of God's love and I consider His Gift of Salvation a miracle. God's miracles manifests in various ways, like getting a new job, being blessed with a baby, having a relationship with God, etc, etc. I dont count winning the lotto as a miracle. For the preachers who do miracles on Television, if they are not conformed to the Word of God, then, that means, they are not servants of the Almighty God. |
Posted a new topic on my blog on Bill O'Reilly insensitive comment on the recent discovery of the two abducted kids. www.NigerianAmerican..com |
How much is enough for one to live comfortably in Naija? |
We all need good editors at times@Osegwu, nobody is above mistakes. |
A true prophet of who? Rastafarianism? A representative of the rastafarian religion that sanctions the smoking of hemp is what earns your approval? Seek Jesus Christ!!! |
Return the ring and run away from the relationship. It aint worth it. |
Dunno, but this incident, may have happened either in the 80's or 90's. But seriously, why would you invest in Nigeria, (that is open a bank account) when banks in Nigeria have a history of instability? What if they go under, you may lose your money, because of unaccountability. Just my 2 cents. |
